1Friction of low-dimensional nanomaterial systems显示文摘When material dimensions are reduced to the nanoscale,exceptional physical mechanics properties can be obtained that differ significantly from the corresponding bulk materials.Here we review the physical mechanics of the friction of low‐dimensional nanomaterials,including zero‐dimensional nanoparticles,one‐dimensional multiwalled nanotubes and nanowires,and two‐dimensional nanomaterials-such as graphene,hexagonal boron nitride(h‐BN),and transition‐metal dichalcogenides-as well as topological insulators.Nanoparticles between solid surfaces can serve as rolling and sliding lubrication,while the interlayer friction of multiwalled nanotubes can be ultralow or significantly high and sensitive to interwall spacing and chirality matching,as well as the tube materials.The interwall friction can be several orders of magnitude higher in binary polarized h‐BN tubes than in carbon nanotubes mainly because of wall buckling.Furthermore,current extensive studies on two‐dimensional nanomaterials are comprehensively reviewed herein.In contrast to their bulk materials that serve as traditional dry lubricants(e.g.,graphite,bulk h‐BN,and MoS_(2)),large‐area high‐quality monolayered two‐dimensional nanomaterials can serve as single‐atom‐thick coatings that minimize friction and wear.In addition,by appropriately tuning the surface properties,these materials have shown great promise for creating energy‐efficient self‐powered electro‐opto‐magneto‐mechanical nanosystems.State‐of‐the‐art experimental and theoretical methods to characterize friction in nanomaterials are also introduced.Wanlin GUO Jun YIN Hu QIU Yufeng GUO Hongrong WU Minmin XUE 2014Friction2014,2,3:15
2Preparation of modified SiO_2 colloidal spheres with succinic acid and the assembly of colloidal crystals显示文摘SiO2 colloidal spheres were synthesized by St-ber method. In order to enhance surface charge of the SiO2 spheres, they were modified with succinic acid. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) shows that the average size of modified SiO2 spheres is 473 nm, and its distribution standard deviation is less than 5%; Fourier-transform infrared spectra (FT-IR) and X-ray photoelectron spectrometer (XPS) results indicate that one end of succinic acid is chemically bonded to the SiO2 spheres through esterification; Zeta potential of the modified SiO2 spheres in water solution is improved from -53.72 to -67.46 mV, and surface charge density of the modified SiO2 spheres is enhanced from 0.19 to 0.94 μC/cm2. SiO2 colloidal crystal was fabricated from aqueous colloidal solution by the vertical deposition method at 40℃ and 60% relative humidity. SEM images show that the sample of SiO2 colloidal crystal is face-centered cubic (fcc) structure with its (111) planes parallel to the substrate. 3Uncoupling neurotrophic function from nociception of nerve growth factor: what can be learned from a rare human disease?显示文摘Nerve growth factor(NGF) is a powerful trophic factor that provides essential support for the survival and differentiation of sympathetic and sensory neurons during development. However, NGF also activates nociceptors contributing significantly to inflammatory pain and neuropathic pain after tissue injury. As such anti-NGF based therapies represent a promising strategy for pain management. Because of dose-dependent serious side effects such as back pain, injection site hyperalgesia, clinical trials of using NGF to treat various disorders such as diabetic neuropathies, chemotherapy-induced and human immunodeficiency virus-associated peripheral neuropathies were all discontinued. Thus far, worldwide clinical applications of NGF in treating patients are very limited except in China. Hereditary sensory autonomic neuropathy type V(HSAN V) is an extremely rare disease. Genetic analyses have revealed that HSAN V is associated with autosomal recessive mutations in NGF. One of the mutations occurred at the 100^(th) position of mature NGF resulting in a change of residue from arginine to tryptophan(R100W). Although those HSAN V patients associated with the NGF^(R100W) mutation suffer from severe loss of deep pain, bone fractures and joint destruction, interestingly patients with the NGF^(R100W) mutation do not show apparent cognitive deficits, suggesting important trophic support function is preserved. We believe that NGF^(R100W) provides an ideal tool to uncouple the two important functions of NGF: trophic versus nociceptive. Studies from investigators including ourselves have indeed confirmed in animal testing that the NGF^(R100W) no longer induced pain. More importantly, the trophic function seemed to be largely preserved in NGF harboring the R100W mutation. On the mechanistic level, we found that the NGF^(R100W) mutation was capable of binding to and signaling through the tyrosine receptor kinase A receptor. But its ability to bind to and activate the 75 kDa neurotrophic factor was significantly diminished. The significance of these findings is at least two folds: 1) the NGF^(R100W) mutation can be used as an alternative to the wildtype NGF to treat human conditions without eliciting pain; and 2) the 75 kDa neurotrophic factor may serve as a novel target for pain management. 5Experimental and analytical study on seismic behavior of steel-concrete multienergy dissipation composite shear walls显示文摘In this paper, a steel-concrete multi-energy dissipation composite shear wall, comprised of steel-reinforced concrete(SRC) columns, steel plate(SP) deep beams, a concrete wall and energy dissipation strips, is proposed. In order to study the multi-energy dissipation behavior and restorability after an earthquake, two stages of low cyclic loading tests were carried out on ten test specimens. In the first stage, test on five specimens with different number of SP deep beams was carried out, and the test lasted until the displacement drift reached 2%. In the second stage, thin SPs were welded to both sides of the five specimens tested in the first stage, and the same test was carried out on the repaired specimens(designated as new specimens). The load-bearing capacity, stiffness, ductility, hysteretic behavior and failure characteristics were analyzed for both stages and the results are discussed herein. Extrapolating from these results, strength calculation models and formulas are proposed herein and simulations using ABAQUS carried out; they show good agreement with the test results. The study demonstrates that SRC columns, SP deep beams, concrete wall and energy dissipation strips cooperate well and play an important role in energy dissipation. 6Designing high-strength titanium alloy using pseudo-spinodal mechanism through diffusion multiple experiment and CALPHAD calculation显示文摘This study used the pseudo-spinodal mechanism to obtain the ultrafineαphase for designing highstrength titanium alloy.Diffusion multiple experiments were designed to find the composition range of TM-x Mo-y V alloy(TM:Ti-4.5 Al-2 Cr-2.5 Nb-2 Zr-1 Sn)for obtaining ultrafineαphase.CALPHAD results confirm that when the alloy composition is located near the intersection of theαandβphase free energy curves,the alloy will undergo pseudo-spinodal transformation and obtain the ultrafineαphase.The designed TM-6 Mo-3 V alloy has a yield strength of 1411 MPa and an elongation of 6.5%.The strength of the alloy depends on the thickness,fraction of theαphase and the solid solution strengthening effect of the alloying elements.The deformation mechanism of the alloy is the dislocation slip of theαandβphases and the twin deformation of theαphase.The large number ofα/βinterfaces produced by the fineαphase is the main reason for limiting the ductility of the alloy.The use of the pseudo-spinodal mechanism combined with diffusion multiple experiments and CALPHAD is an effective method for designing high-strength titanium alloys.Di Wu Libin Liu Lijun Zeng Wenguang Zhu Wanlin Wang Xiaoyong Zhang Junfeng Hou Baoliang Liu Jiafeng Lei Kechao Zhou 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,15:3
7Sustained delivery of vascular endothelial growth factor mediated by bioactive methacrylic anhydride hydrogel accelerates peripheral nerve regeneration after crush injury显示文摘Neurotrophic factors,currently administered orally or by intravenous drip or intramuscular injection,are the main method for the treatment of peripheral nerve crush injury.However,the low effective drug concentration arriving at the injury site results in unsatisfactory outcomes.Therefore,there is an urgent need for a treatment method that can increase the effective drug concentration in the injured area.In this study,we first fabricated a gelatin modified by methacrylic anhydride hydrogel and loaded it with vascular endothelial growth factor that allowed the controlled release of the neurotrophic factor.This modified gelatin exhibited good physical and chemical properties,biocompatibility and supported the adhesion and proliferation of RSC96 cells and human umbilical vein endothelial cells.When injected into the epineurium of crushed nerves,the composite hydrogel in the rat sciatic nerve crush injury model promoted nerve regeneration,functional recovery and vascularization.The results showed that the modified gelatin gave sustained delivery of vascular endothelial growth factors and accelerated the repair of crushed peripheral nerves.Wanlin Xu Yifan Wu Hao Lu Yun Zhu Jinhai Ye Wenjun Yang 2022Neural Regeneration Research2022,17,9:2
8Analysis and seismic tests of composite shear walls with CFST columns and steel plate deep beams显示文摘A composite shear wall concept based on concrete filled steel tube(CFST)columns and steel plate(SP)deep beams is proposed and examined in this study.The new wall is composed of three different energy dissipation elements:CFST columns;SP deep beams;and reinforced concrete(RC)strips.The RC strips are intended to allow the core structural elements-the CFST columns and SP deep beams-to work as a single structure to consume energy.Six specimens of different configurations were tested under cyclic loading.The resulting data are analyzed herein.In addition,numerical simulations of the stress and damage processes for each specimen were carried out,and simulations were completed for a range of location and span-height ratio variations for the SP beams.The simulations show good agreement with the test results.The core structure exhibits a ductile yielding mechanism characteristic of strong column-weak beam structures,hysteretic curves are plump and the composite shear wall exhibits several seismic defense lines.The deformation of the shear wall specimens with encased CFST column and SP deep beam design appears to be closer to that of entire shear walls.Establishing optimal design parameters for the configuration of SP deep beams is pivotal to the best seismic behavior of the wall.The new composite shear wall is therefore suitable for use in the seismic design of building structures.Dong Hongying Cao Wanlin Wu Haipeng Zhang Jianwei Xu Fangfang 2013Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Vibration2013,12,4:1

10Upregulation of RIN3 induces endosomal dysfunction in Alzheimer’s disease显示文摘Background In Alzheimer’s Disease(AD),about one-third of the risk genes identified by GWAS encode proteins that function predominantly in the endocytic pathways.Among them,the Ras and Rab Interactor 3(RIN3)is a guanine nucleotide exchange factor(GEF)for the Rab5 small GTPase family and has been implicated to be a risk factor for both late onset AD(LOAD)and sporadic early onset AD(sEOAD).However,how RIN3 is linked to AD pathogenesis is currently undefined.Methods Quantitative PCR and immunoblotting were used to measure the RIN3 expression level in mouse brain tissues and cultured basal forebrain cholinergic neuron(BFCNs).Immunostaining was used to define subcellular localization of RIN3 and to visualize endosomal changes in cultured primary BFCNs and PC12 cells.Recombinant flag-tagged RIN3 protein was purified from HEK293T cells and was used to define RIN3-interactomes by mass spectrometry.RIN3-interacting partners were validated by co-immunoprecipitation,immunofluorescence and yeast two hybrid assays.Live imaging of primary neurons was used to examine axonal transport of amyloid precursor protein(APP)andβ-secretase 1(BACE1).Immunoblotting was used to detect protein expression,processing of APP and phosphorylated forms of Tau.Results We have shown that RIN3 mRNA level was significantly increased in the hippocampus and cortex of APP/PS1 mouse brain.Basal forebrain cholinergic neurons(BFCNs)cultured from E18 APP/PS1 mouse embryos also showed increased RIN3 expression accompanied by early endosome enlargement.In addition,via its proline rich domain,RIN3 recruited BIN1(bridging integrator 1)and CD2AP(CD2 associated protein),two other AD risk factors,to early endosomes.Interestingly,overexpression of RIN3 or CD2AP promoted APP cleavage to increase its carboxyl terminal fragments(CTFs)in PC12 cells.Upregulation of RIN3 or the neuronal isoform of BIN1 increased phosphorylated Tau level.Therefore,upregulation of RIN3 expression promoted accumulation of APP CTFs and increased phosphorylated Tau.These effects by RIN3 was rescued by the expression of a dominant negative Rab5(Rab5S34N)construct.Our study has thus pointed to that RIN3 acts through Rab5 to impact endosomal trafficking and signaling.Conclusion RIN3 is significantly upregulated and correlated with endosomal dysfunction in APP/PS1 mouse.Through interacting with BIN1 and CD2AP,increased RIN3 expression alters axonal trafficking and procession of APP.Together with our previous studies,our current work has thus provided important insights into the role of RIN3 in regulating endosomal signaling and trafficking.Ruinan Shen Xiaobei Zhao Lu He Yongbo Ding Wei Xu Suzhen Lin Savannah Fang Wanlin Yang Kijung Sung Brian Spencer Robert A.Rissman Ming Lei Jianqing Ding Chengbiao Wu 2020Translational Neurodegeneration2020,9,2:1
11A novel power-on-reset circuit for passive UHF RFID tag chip显示文摘A novel power-on-reset(POR) circuit with simple architecture, small values of capacitances, ultralower power consumption, and self-adjustable delay time of reset pulse for passive UHF RFID tags is presented in this paper. A proposed delay element was adopted for the features of small capacitances and wide power supply rise time range. An inverter was used as a two-inputs logic device to simplify the architecture of the circuit. The technology used for design and simulation is SMIC 0.18 μm RF. Simulation results show that the circuit functions well under different process corners with different power supply rise time, and is able to generate a POR signal after the power supply is briefly powered off. The static power consumption is less than 30 pA. 12Hybrid CuO-Co_(3)O_(4)nanosphere/RGO sandwiched composites as anode materials for lithium-ion batteries显示文摘Hybrid CuO-Co_(3)O_(4)nanosphere building blocks have been embedded between the layered nanosheets of reduced graphene oxides with a three dimensional(3D)hybrid architecture(CuO-Co_(3)O_(4)-RGO),which are successfully applied as enhanced anodes for lithium-ion batteries(LIBs).The CuO-Co_(3)O_(4)-RGO sandwiched nanostructures exhibit a reversible capacity of~847 mA·h·g^(-1)after 200 cycles’cycling at 100 mA·g^(-1)with a capacity retention of 79%.The CuO-Co_(3)O_(4)-RGO compounds show superior electrochemical properties than the comparative CuO-Co_(3)O_(4),Co_(3)O_(4)and CuO anodes,which may be ascribed to the following reasons:the hybridizing multicomponent can probably give the complementary advantages;the mutual benefit of uniformly distributing nanospheres across the layered RGO nanosheets can avoid the agglomeration of both the RGO nanosheets and the CuO-Co_(3)O_(4) nanospheres;the 3D storage structure as well as the graphene wrapped composite could enhance the electrical conductivity and reduce volume expansion effect associated with the discharge-charge process.Yingmeng Zhang Luting Liu Qingwei Deng Wanlin Wu Yongliang Li Xiangzhong Ren Peixin Zhang Lingna Sun 2022Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2022,35,7:1
13Heterogeneity in susceptibility to polycystic ovary syndrome among women with epilepsy显示文摘Background Epilepsy comorbidities adversely affect the quality of life of patients.Women with epilepsy are at a high risk of comorbid endocrine disorders.Among them,the polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS)has a threefold higher prevalence in women with epilepsy than in healthy women and is the main cause of infertility among the patients.Clinically,women with epilepsy show heterogeneity in the susceptibility to PCOS.This heterogeneity may be associated with genetic factor.Methods To test this,we retrospectively collected clinical data from 45 female patients with epilepsy and divided them into three groups according to their susceptibility to PCOS.Groups A and B represented a high susceptibility to PCOS.Patients in Group A were diagnosed with PCOS before their first seizure,while patients in Group B were diagnosed with PCOS after a short period of monotherapy with a low dose of antiseizure medication(ASM)following the diagnosis of epilepsy.Patients in Group C did not develop PCOS despite a prolonged treatment with high-dose ASM.We compared the clinical data and genetic profiles among the three groups.Results We found a clear trend of impaired metabolism in Group B patients and this may be associated with highfrequency mutations in MYO10 and ADGRL3.Conclusions Our study suggests that women with epilepsy are heterogeneous in the susceptibility to PCOS and this is associated with mutations in specific genes.Therefore,genetic screening should be conducted to screen for women with epilepsy who are more likely to have comorbid PCOS,so that they can receive targeted interventions at an early stage to reduce the risk.Leihao Sha Yiming Wu Wanlin Lai Yifei Duan Yilin Xia Lei Chen 2023Acta Epileptologica2023,6,2:0
14Wetting behavior of CaO-Al_(2)O_(3)-based mold flux with various BaO and MgO contents on the steel substrate显示文摘The Interfacial phenomena in mold have a great impact on the smooth operation of continuous casting process and the quality of the casting product.In this paper,the wetting behavior of CaO-Al_(2)O_(3)-based mold flux with different BaO and MgO contents was studied.The results showed that the contact angle between molten flux and interstitial free(IF)steel substrate increased from 62.4°to 74.5°with the increase of BaO content from 3 wt%to 7 wt%,while it decreased from 62.4°to 51.3°with the increase of MgO content from 3 wt%to 7 wt%.The interfacial tension also increased from 1630.3 to 1740.8 mN/m when the BaO content increased,but it reduced from 1630.3 to 1539.7 mN/m with the addition of MgO.The changes of contact angle and interfacial tension were mainly due to the fact that the bridging oxygen(O^(0)) at the interface was broken into non-bridging oxygen(O^(-)) and free oxygen(O_(2-)) by MgO.However,more O^(-) and O_(2-) connected into O^(0) when BaO was added,since the charge compensation effect of BaO was so stronger that it offset the effect of providing O_(2-).Lejun Zhou Hao Luo Wanlin Wang Houfa Wu Erzhuo Gao You Zhou Daoyuan Huang 2022International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2022,29,6:0
15Recommendations for control and prevention of infections for pediatric orthopedics during the epidemic period of COVID-19显示文摘The outbreak of Coronavirus Disease 2019(COVID-19)caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)emerged and spread rapidly throughout the world.As of February 29,2020,79389 cases of COVID-19 have been reported,and the outbreak is linked to 2838 deaths.The population is generally susceptible to the disease,and differences in incubation periods after infection exist among individuals.These two aspects of COVID-19 pose significant challenges to pediatric orthopedic diagnosis and treatment.As a dedicated center for managing pediatric cases of SARS-CoV-2 in Shanghai,our hospital has mobilized all branches and departments to undertake joint actions for scientific prevention and control,precise countermeasure and comprehensive anti-epidemic efforts.Combined with our experience,we have consulted the relevant national regulations and the latest research advances and have formulated the prevention and control measures of SARS-CoV-2 infection,including outpatient,emergency,inpatient and surgical cares,for clinical practices of pediatric orthopedics according to the physicochemical properties of SARS-CoV-2.It may serve as practical references and recommendations for managing SARS-CoV-2 infection in other pediatric specialties and in other hospitals.Chunxing Wu Zhiqiang Zhang Yueqiang Mo Dahui Wang Bo Ning Ping Xu Jun Song Xinhong Pei Xiaoyan Ni Yiming Zheng Tian Xia Yanhui Jing Wanlin Sun Junrong Meng Chuang Qian 2020World Journal of Pediatric Surgery2020,3,1:0
16Obtaining accurate measurements of the sea surface height from a GPS buoy显示文摘A dedicated GPS buoy is designed for calibration and validation(Cal/Val)of satellite altimeters since 2014.In order to evaluate the accuracy of the sea surface height(SSH)measured by the GPS buoy,twelve campaigns have been done within China sea area between 2014 and 2021.In six of these campaigns,two static Global Navigation Satellite System stations were installed at distances of<1 km and 19 km from the buoy to assess how the baseline length influenced the derived SSH from the buoy solutions.The GPS buoy data was processed using the GAMIT/GLOBK software+TRACK module and CSRS-PPP tool to achieve the SSH.The SSH was compared with conventionally tide gauge(TG)data to evaluate the accuracy of the buoy with the standard deviation of the height element.The results showed that the difference in the standard deviation of the SSH from the buoy and the TG was less than 16 mm.The SSHs processed with different ephemeris(Ultra-Rapid,Rapid,Final)were not significantly different.When the baseline length was 19 km,the SSH solution of the GPS buoy performed well,with standard bias of less than 26 mm between the heights measured by the buoy and TG,meaning that the buoy could be used for Cal/Val of altimeters.The bias between the Canadian Spatial Reference System-precise point positioning tool and the TRACK varied a lot,and some of them were over 130 mm.This deemed too high to be useful for Cal/Val of satellite altimeters.Moreover,the GPS buoy solutions processed by GAMIT/GLOBK software+TRACK module were used for in-orbit Cal/Val of HY-2B/C satellites in ten campaigns.The SSH and significant wave height of the altimeters showed good agreements with the GPS buoy solutions.Wanlin Zhai Jianhua Zhu Chuntao Chen Wu Zhou Longhao Yan Yufei Zhang Xiaoqi Huang Kai Guo 2023Acta Oceanologica Sinica2023,42,6:0

18Enhanced ferroelectric properties of highly(100)oriented Pb(Zr_(0.52)Ti_(0.48))O_(3) thick films prepared by chemical solution deposition显示文摘Ferroelectric Pb(Zr_(0.52)Ti_(0.48))O_(3)(PZT)thick films with highly(100)preferential orientation have been prepared by chemical solution deposition process on Pt/Ti/SiO_(2)/(100)Si substrates and pyrolyzed at 350℃-450℃,then annealed at 650℃.The typical thickness of the films is 3.9m.Effects of the pyrolysis temperature and excess PbO on the orientation,dielectric and ferroelectric properties of PZT thick films have been discussed.Domain switching and depoling process were studied by piezoelectric force microscopy.(100)oriented PZT films exhibit enhanced electrical properties.The dielectric constant and loss tangent of the films are 1444 and 0.022 at 1 kHz,respectively.The remnant polarization increases from 27.6 to 34.6μC/cm^(2),and the coercive field decreases from 61.4 to 43.5 kV/cm,when the orientation of the films changes from the random orientation to the preferential(100)orientation.The leakage current density is 10^(-8)A/cm^(2) at dc field of 0.25 kV/cm,and then increases to 10^(-6) A/cm^(2) at 40 kV/cm.The piezoelectric response of the oriented films is investigated by Piezoelecric Force Microscopy(PFM).Wanlin Zhu Wei Ren Hong Xin Peng Shi Xiaoqing Wu 2013Journal of Advanced Dielectrics2013,3,2:0

20A comparative genomics analysis of lung adenocarcinoma for Chinese population by using panel of recurrent mutations显示文摘Previous studies have demonstrated that Chinese lung adenocarcinoma(LUAD)patients have unique genetic characteristics,however,the specific genomic features relating to the development and treatment of LUAD in the Chinese population are not fully understood.Here,we applied the ultra-deep targeted sequencing to 66 Chinese LUAD samples,accompanied by comparative analysis with 162 Caucasian LUAD in The Cancer Genome Atlas.We focused on the 68 recurrently mutated genes and results revealed that the panel-based tumor mutational burden(pTMB)is significantly higher in the Chinese LUAD(P=0.0017).Additionally,the percentage of smoking-associated C>A transversion is significantly lower in Chinese LUAD(15.5%vs.39.7%,P=5.69×10^(-27)),while C>T transition is more frequent in Chinese LUAD(35.8%vs.25.7%,P=2.67×10^(-5)),which indicated the ethnic difference in mutation types.Notably,novel driver genes(GNAS and JAK1)that are peculiar to Chinese LUAD were identified,and a more convergent distribution of mutations was observed in the Chinese cohort(P=0.012)compared with scattered mutations in Caucasian LUAD.Our results present a distinct genomic profile of Chinese LUAD compared to Caucasians LUAD and elucidate the ethnic difference in mutation distribution besides the type and rate.Wanlin Li Min Wu Qianqian Wang Kun Xu Fan Lin Qianghu Wang Renhua Guo 2021The Journal of Biomedical Research2021,35,1:0
