9Calibration and validation of FAO-AquaCrop model to estimate the total biomass and yacon root yield显示文摘Due to the current water scarcity in the world,it is extremely important to improve the use of this natural and exhaustible resource in agriculture,by contributing to increase agricultural production and sustainability.Several models of crop growth simulation were developed to predict the edaphoclimatic effects on crop yield.These models are calibrated and validated for a given region using the data generated from field experiments.Therefore,the objective of this study was to calibrate and validate the FAO AquaCrop model for yacon(Smallanthus sonchifolius)crop in a tropical climate.The experiment was conducted in an experimental area located in the municipality of Ibatiba,state of Espírito Santo(Brazil)during the years of 2013 and 2014.The calibration was done using the Autumn planting and validation with the Winter and Spring plantings.For the statistical analysis,the coefficient of determination,Willmott concordance index,bias for the systematic error,root mean square error and the mean absolute error to test the model performance were used.In general,the FAO AquaCrop model predicted the root yield,total biomass and harvest index with acceptable accuracy,and with deviations of less than 6%for total and root biomass.Late planting of yacon showed a reduction in yield as well as total biomass.Ramon Amaro de Sales Alexandre Cândido Xavier Evandro Chaves de Oliveira Fábio Luiz de Oliveira Diego Mathias Natal da Silva Sávio da Silva Berilli 2020International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2020,13,3:1

18Evaluation and Repair of a Reinforced Concrete Structure:A Case Study显示文摘Reinforced concrete structure durability has been getting a lot of attention in academic research related to building security and stability.Thus,knowledge about the condition of the structures,particularly those affected by issue symptoms,is a powerful tool to minimize costs and improve structural reinforcement and repair service efficiency.Steel corrosion in reinforced concrete frames is the most frequent pathological manifestation in buildings around the world,and it is closely linked to the concept of structural integrity and safety.This paper describes,explains and remarks on the services performed by a company specialized in structure pathology in determining the causes,origins and mechanisms involved in steel corrosion in reinforced concrete frames in the ground and mezzanine floors of a building located in the coastal city of Cabedelo/PB.Mechanical,physical,chemical and electrochemical tests were conducted in the structure,and the conclusion was that concrete carbonation was the mechanism behind the pathological manifestation,and the source of the issue was linked to the execution of the work.The therapy process adopted was divided into levels related to the degree and progress in the observed degradation,and a few structural repair techniques were adopted,such as traditional structure repair,chemical realkalinization,corrosion inhibition and surface protection.Fábio Giovanni Xavier de Oliveira Flávio Roberto Xavier de Oliveira 2018Journal of Environmental Science and Engineering(B)2018,7,7:0
19Synthesis and structure of a praseodymium (Ⅲ) complex with carboxylate ligand:A thermal and spectroscopic study显示文摘One Pr(Ⅲ) lanthanide ion complex was initially synthesized and characterized by TGA-DSC in air atmosphere, as well as characterized by CHN elemental analysis, defining the stoichiometric ratio as Pr(DMBz)_3. The gaseous products evolved during the thermal decomposition were also monitored in N_2 atmosphere employing TGA/FT-IR system. A crystal structure is obtained by state-of-the-art powder X-rays diffraction methods measured in conventional laboratory equipment and refined by the Rietveld method, which defined it as a monoclinic system of the space group P2_1/C with a polymeric crystal structure, [Pr(DMB_Z)_3]_n. FT-IR theoretical spectrum and time-dependent density functional theory(TD-DFT) were calculated from TGA-DSC and crystalline system data. 20Comparison of Functional Capability,Flexibility,Strength and Quality of Life in Aged Women Engaged in Resistance Exercise,Weight-Bearing Training or Hydro-Gymnastics显示文摘Although any type or amount of physical exercise may reverse the cellular processes that lead to the aging,regular physical exercise can attenuate the decline in physical and functional abilities observed in elderly.Currently,the most encouraged activities in gyms and clubs are resistance training,functional training,and hydrogymnastics.The main objective of this study was to compare the effects of the aforementioned exercises regarding muscle strength,flexibility,functional capability and quality of life of elderly women.We divided 36 elderly women in four groups:Sedentary(S);Hydro-gymnastics(H);Functional Training(F);or Resistance Training(RT).The results reveal that the groups engaged in physical exercise showed a significant difference(p<0.05)in relation to S in all evaluations.The results also show that between the different exercises evaluated,resistance training practitioners have greater strength and better functional capability.Otávio Augusto Soares Machado Waldecir Paula Lima Bruna Vieira de Souza Fábio Gianolla Luiz Francisco Killian Giovanna Athanásio Chaves Machado Renata Gorjao 2019Journal of Sports Science2019,7,4:0
