| SYED MASIUR Rahman NEDAL T. | 2 | Quantitative analysis of cefixime via complexation with palladium(Ⅱ) in pharmaceutical formulations by spectrophotometry显示文摘An optimized and validated spectrophotometric method has been developed for the determination of cefixime in pharmaceutical formulations. The method is based on the complexation reaction between cefixime and palladium ion in the presence of acidic buffer solution (pH 3) in ethanol-distilled water medium at room temperature. The complex absorbed maximally at 352 nm. Beer's law is obeyed in the working concentration range of 2.5-35 μg/mL with apparent molar absorptivity of 1.015×104L/mol cm and Sandell's sensitivity of 0.001 μg/cm2 /0.001 absorbance unit. The limits of detection and quantitation for the proposed method are 0.175 and 0.583 μg/mL, respectively. The effect of common excipients used as additives has been studied in the determination of cefixime. The proposed method has been successfully applied for the determination of cefixime in pharmaceutical formulations. The results obtained by the proposed method were statistically compared with the reference method using t and F values and found no significant difference between the two methods. | Syed Najmul Hejaz Azmi Bashir Iqbal Nada Said Hassan Al-Humaimi Iman Rashid Saif Al-Salmani Noora Ali Saad Al-Ghafri Nafisur Rahman | 2013 | Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis2013,3,4: | 3
Construction of S-scheme MnO_(2)@CdS heterojunction with core–shell structure as H_(2)-production photocatalyst显示文摘Artificial photosynthesis is deemed as an efficient protocol for transforming abundant solar energy into valuable fuel. In this paper, the well-defined one-dimensional(1D) core–shell MnO_(2)@CdS hybrids were constructed by employing MnO_(2) nanotubes and CdS nanoparticles as nano-building blocks via a chemical coprecipitation route. The rationally designed core–shell structure provided an intimate heterojunction interface between the CdS shell and MnO_(2) core. All the MnO_(2)@CdS core–shell nanocomposites possess higher H_(2) evolution rate through visible light irradiation contrary to pristine CdS, and the optimal MnO_(2)@CdS hybrid exhibits the utmost H_(2) evolution rate of 3.94 mmol·g^(-1)·h^(-1), which is2.8-fold higher compared with that of CdS. Appertaining to XPS and Mott-Schottky(M-S) analysis, such enhanced photocatalytic H_(2) generation of MnO_(2)@CdS heterojunction was ascribed to an S-scheme mechanism, which suppressed the charge recombination along with a fast detachment of electron–hole pairs(e^(-)–h^(+)) and significantly improved the severance of carriers, thus improved H_(2) evolution performance. These findings envision a new insight into the development of S-scheme heterostructure for photocatalytic H_(2) generation. | Syed Zulfiqar Song Liu Nasir Rahman Hua Tang Sufaid Shah Xiao-Hui Yu Qin-Qin Liu | 2021 | Rare Metals2021,40,9: | 3

Estimation of Genetic Divergence and Character Association Studies in Local and Exotic Diversity Panels of Soybean(Glycine max L.)Genotypes显示文摘The availability of favorable genetic diversity is a thriving vitality for the success of a breeding program. It provides a firm basis of selecting superior breeding lines for the development of high yielding crop genotypes. In this context, present investigation aimed to generate information on genetic divergence and character association in a diversity panel of 123 local and exotic soybean genotypes.Analysis of variance revealed significant response of the evaluated genotypes based on studied attributes. It depicted the probability of selecting desirable soybean genotypes by focusing on character association studies and genetic diversity analysis.Correlation analysis revealed that seed yield per plant showed high positive correlation with 100-seed weight followed by pods per plant and plant height.Furthermore, path coefficient analysis exposed that pods per plant had maximum direct contribution in seed yield per plant followed by 100-seed weight, days to flowering and SPAD measurement.Genotype named“G-10”showed maximum yield per plant followed by 24607,G-52,24593,Arisoy,24566,17426,A-3127,24570 and 24567.Genetic diversity analysis grouped the evaluated germplasm into 17 clusters. All clusters showed zero intra-cluster variability;while inter-cluster divergence ranged from 9.00 to 91.11.Cluster V showed maximum inter-cluster distance with cluster XII followed by that of between V and VIII.Moreover, cluster IV with superior genotypes(G-10,24607,24593 and 24566),VI(17426 and 24567),XIII(24570)and X(Arisoy and G-52)showed above mean values for most of the studied characters.Overall, the results of hybridization between the superior genotypes of these cluster pairs might be useful for soybean breeding with improving agronomic traits and adaptability. | Syed Ali Zafar Muhammad Aslam Haroon Zaman Khan Sehrish Sarwar Rao Saad Rehman Mariam Hassan Ramala Masood Ahmad Rafaqat AGill Basharat Ali Ibrahim Al-Ashkar Abdullah Ibrahim Md Atikur Rahman Ayman El Sabagh | 2023 | Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2023,92,6: | 0
Three new anthraquinone derivatives isolated from Symplocos racemosa and their antibiofilm activity显示文摘Three new alkyl substituted anthraquinone derivatives, trivially named as symploquinones A-C(Compounds 1-3) were isolated from Symplocos racemosa. The structures of these compounds were determined on the basis of extensive spectroscopic analyses(UV, IR, Mass, ~1 H-and ^(13)C-NMR, and two-dimensional(2D) NMR techniques). The resulting data were also compared with the reported literature. These compounds were then subjected to antibacterial or antibiofilm testing. Compounds 1 and 3 exhibited good antibacterial activity in the concentration range of 160-83 μg·m L^(-1) against Streptococcus mutans, methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus and Proteus mirabilis. Both compounds were further screened for anti-biofilm activity, which revealed promising activities at sub-MIC concentrations. None of the compounds were found to be active against Klebsiella pneumoniae. | Umar Farooq Sara Khan Sadia Naz Ajmal Khan Afsar Khan Ayaz Ahmed Abdur Rauf Syed Majid Bukhari Shujaat Ali Khan Arfa Kamil Nadia Riaz Abdur Rahman Khan | 2017 | Chinese Journal of Natural Medicines2017,15,12: | 0
A multi-purpose National Forest Inventory in Bangladesh:design, operationalisation and key results显示文摘Background:National forest inventory and forest monitoring systems are more important than ever considering continued global degradation of trees and forests. These systems are especially important in a country like Bangladesh, which is characterised by a large population density, climate change vulnerability and dependence on natural resources. With the aim of supporting the Government’s actions towards sustainable forest management through reliable information, the Bangladesh Forest Inventory(BFI)was designed and implemented through three components:biophysical inventory,socio-economic survey and remote sensing-based land cover mapping. This article documents the approach undertaken by the Forest Department under the Ministry of Environment,Forests and Climate Change to establish the BFI as a multipurpose, efficient, accurate and replicable national forest assessment. The design, operationalization and some key results of the process are presented. Methods:The BFI takes advantage of the latest and most well-accepted technological and methodological approaches.Importantly,it was designed through a collaborative process which drew from the experience and knowledge of multiple national and international entities.Overall,1781 field plots were visited,6400 households were surveyed, and a national land cover map for the year 2015 was produced.Innovative technological enhancements include a semi-automated segmentation approach for developing the wall-to-wall land cover map,an object-based national land characterisation system, consistent estimates between sample-based and mapped land cover areas, use of mobile apps for tree species identification and data collection, and use of differential global positioning system for referencing plot centres. Results:Seven criteria, and multiple associated indicators, were developed for monitoring progress towards sustainable forest management goals, informing management decisions, and national and international reporting needs.A wide range of biophysical and socioeconomic data were collected, and in some cases integrated, for estimating the indicators. Conclusions:The BFI is a new information source tool for helping guide Bangladesh towards a sustainable future.Reliable information on the status of tree and forest resources,as well as land use, empowers evidence-based decision making across multiple stakeholders and at different levels for protecting natural resources. The integrated socioeconomic data collected provides information about the interactions between people and their tree and forest resources, and the valuation of ecosystem services. The BFI is designed to be a permanent assessment of these resources, and future data collection will enable monitoring of trends against the current baseline. However, additional institutional support as well as continuation of collaboration among national partners is crucial for sustaining the BFI process in future. | Matieu Henry Zaheer Iqbal Kristofer Johnson Mariam Akhter Liam Costello Charles Scott Rashed Jalal Md.Akhter Hossain Nikhil Chakma Olaf Kuegler Hossain Mahmood Rajib Mahamud Mohammad Raqibul Hasan Siddique Khaled Misbahuzzaman Mohammad Main Uddin Mohammed Al Amin Farid Uddin Ahmed Gael Sola Md.Baktiar Siddiqui Luca Birigazzi Mahmudur Rahman Ilias Animon Saimunnahar Ritu Laskar Muqsudur Rahman Aminul Islam Heather Hayden Frida Sidik Mondal Falgoonee Kumar Rakibul Hassan Mukul Hossain Nishad Ariful Hoque Belal Asif Reza Anik Abdul Khaleque Md.Shaheduzzaman Syed Shahadat Hossain Tariq Aziz Md.Tauhidor Rahaman Ruhul Mohaiman Patrick Meyer Purnata Chakma A.Z.M.Manzoor Rashid Sourav Das Shrabanti Hira Mohammed Jashimuddin Mohammad Mahfuzur Rahman Karl Wurster Sarder Nasir Uddin Abul Kalam Azad S.M.Zahirul Islam Laurent Saint-André | 2021 | Forest Ecosystems2021,8,1: | 0
Visual Motion Segmentation in Crowd Videos Based on Spatial-Angular Stacked Sparse Autoencoders显示文摘Visual motion segmentation(VMS)is an important and key part of many intelligent crowd systems. It can be used to figure out the flow behavior through a crowd and to spot unusual life-threatening incidents like crowd stampedes and crashes, which pose a serious risk to public safety and have resulted in numerous fatalities over the past few decades.Trajectory clustering has become one of the most popular methods in VMS.However, complex data, such as a large number of samples and parameters, makes it difficult for trajectory clustering to work well with accurate motion segmentation results. This study introduces a spatial-angular stacked sparse autoencoder model(SA-SSAE)with l2-regularization and softmax,a powerful deep learning method for visual motion segmentation to cluster similar motion patterns that belong to the same cluster. The proposed model can extract meaningful high-level features using only spatial-angular features obtained from refined tracklets(a.k.a‘trajectories’).We adopt l2-regularization and sparsity regularization, which can learn sparse representations of features,to guarantee the sparsity of the autoencoders. We employ the softmax layer to map the data points into accurate cluster representations. One of the best advantages of the SA-SSAE framework is it can manage VMS even when individuals move around randomly. This framework helps cluster the motion patterns effectively with higher accuracy. We put forward a new dataset with itsmanual ground truth, including 21 crowd videos.Experiments conducted on two crowd benchmarks demonstrate that the proposed model can more accurately group trajectories than the traditional clustering approaches used in previous studies. The proposed SA-SSAE framework achieved a 0.11 improvement in accuracy and a 0.13 improvement in the F-measure compared with the best current method using the CUHK dataset. | Adel Hafeezallah Ahlam Al-Dhamari Syed Abd Rahman Abu-Bakar | 2023 | Computer Systems Science & Engineering2023,47,10: | 0
Advances and challenges of methanol-tolerant oxygen reduction reaction electrocatalysts for the direct methanol fuel cell显示文摘Methanol cross-over effects from the anode to the cathode are important parameters for reducing catalytic performance in direct methanol fuel cells.A promising candidate catalyst for the cathode in direct methanol fuel cells must have excellent activity toward oxygen reduction reaction and resistance to methanol oxidation reaction. This review focuses on the methanol tolerant noble metal-based electrocatalysts, including platinum and palladium-based alloys, noble metal–carbon based composites, transition metal-based catalysts,carbon-based metal catalysts, and metal-free catalysts. The understanding of the correlation between the activity and the synthesis method, electrolyte environment and stability issues are highlighted. For the transition metal-based catalyst, their activity, stability and methanol tolerance in direct methanol fuel cells and comparisons with those of platinum are particularly discussed. Finally, strategies to enhance the methanol tolerance and hinder the generation of mixed potential in direct methanol fuel cells are also presented. This review provides a perspective for future developments for the scientist in selecting suitable methanol tolerate catalyst for oxygen reduction reaction and designing high-performance practical direct methanol fuel cells. | Muhammad Aizaz Ud Din Muhammad Idrees Sidra Jamil Syed Irfan Ghazanfar Nazir Muhammad Ahmad Mudassir Muhammad Shahrukh Saleem Saima Batool Nanpu Cheng Rahman Saidur | 2023 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2023,,2: | 0
