CapOX as neoadjuvant chemotherapy for locally advanced operable colon cancer patients: a prospective single-arm phase Ⅱ trial显示文摘Objective: The aim of this prospective, single-arm phase II trial was to confirm the safety and efficacy of neoadjuvant chemotherapy(NAC) using oxaliplatin plus capecitabine(Cap OX) for patients with operable locally advanced colon cancer(CC).Methods: Patients with computed tomography-defined T4 or lymph node-positive CCs were enrolled. After radiological staging, patients were treated with at least 2 cycles of NAC consisting of 130 mg/m2 oxaliplatin on d 1,plus 1,000 mg/m2 capecitabine twice daily for 14 d every 3 weeks, followed by surgery, and then with the rest cycles of adjuvant chemotherapy. Radiological response was evaluated after 2 cycles of NAC. Tumor response, treatment toxicity, and surgical complications were recorded. The pathological response to therapy was evaluated according to the tumor regression grade(TRG) score. The primary endpoint was pathologic tumor response. This trial is registered in Clinical Trials.gov(No: NCT02415829).Results: Forty-seven patients were enrolled in the study. Forty-two patients completed the planned treatments. The total radiological response rate was 68%(32/47), including complete and partial response rates of 2%(1/47)and 66%(31/47), respectively. Stable disease was observed in 32%(15/47) and progressive disease was observed in none. Complete pathologic response, major regression, and at least moderate regression were achieved in 1(2%), 2(4%), and 29(62%) patients, respectively. Four patients developed grade 3 treatment toxicities. One patient with wound infection occurred after operation(1/47, 2%). There was no treatment-related death. Conclusions: Our results suggest that NAC with Cap OX is an effective and safe treatment option for patients with locally advanced CCs. | Fangqi Liu Li Yang Yuchen Wu Cong Li Jiang Zhao Adili Keranmu Hongtu Zheng Dan Huang Lei Wang Tong Tong Junyan Xu Ji Zhu Sanjun Cai Ye Xu | 2016 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2016,28,6: | 14
Salt-assisted chemical vapor deposition of two-dimensional materials显示文摘Two-dimensional(2D) materials with atomic thickness are promising candidates for the applications in future semiconductor devices, owing to their fascinating physical properties and superlative optoelectronic performance. Chemical vapor deposition(CVD) is considered to be an efficient method for large-scale preparation of 2D materials toward practical applications. However, the high melting points of metal precursors and the thermodynamics instabilities of metastable phases limit the direct CVD synthesis of plenty of 2D materials. The salt has recently been introduced into the CVD process, which proved to be effective to address these issues. In this review, we highlighted the latest progress in the salt-assisted CVD growth of 2D materials, including layered and non-layered crystals. Firstly, strategies of adding salts are summarized. Then, the salt-assisted growth of various layered materials is presented, emphasizing on the transition metal chalcogenides of stable and metastable phases. Furthermore, strategies to grow ultrathin non-layered materials are discussed. We provide viewpoints into the techniques of using salt, the effects of salt, and the growth mechanisms of 2D crystals. Finally, we offer the challenges to be overcome and further research directions of this emerging salt-assisted CVD technique. | Wei Han Kailang Liu Sanjun Yang Fakun Wang Jianwei Su Bao Jin Huiqiao Li Tianyou Zhai | 2019 | Science China Chemistry2019,62,10: | 8
Study on the sedimentation capability of bauxite flotation concentrate显示文摘The sedimentation behaviors of bauxite flotation concentrates were investigated at different pH values and flocculant dosages. The effects of three types of flocculants (cationic, anionic and non-ionic polyacrylamide flocculants) as well as the molecular weight of anionic flocculants on the sedimentation of concentrate were studied. It is shown from the experimental results that at the pH 7.0,best sedimentation capability is reached when anionic polyacrylamide flocculant (molecular weight 14 million) is added and the optimal dosage is 30 g/t. | Chen Jianming Liu Sanjun Qin Wenqing Chen Zhiyou Hu Yuehua | 2008 | Engineering Sciences2008,6,4: | 5

Cancer stem cells:therapeutic implications and perspectives in cancer therapy显示文摘The cancer stem cell(CSC)theory is gaining increasing attention from researchers and has become an important focus of cancer research.According to the theory,a minority population of cancer cells is capable of self-renewal and generation of differentiated progeny, termed cancer stem cells(CSCs).Understanding the properties and characteristics of CSCs is key to future study on cancer research, such as the isolation and identification of CSCs,the cancer diagnosis, and the cancer therapy.Standard oncology treatments, such as chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgical resection, can only shrink the bulk tumor and the tumor tends to relapse. Thus, therapeutic strategies that focus on targeting CSCs and their microenvironmental niche address the ineffec-tiveness of traditional cancer therapies to eradicate the CSCs that otherwise result in therapy resistance. The combined use of traditional therapies with targeted CSC-specific agents may target the whole cancer and offer a promising strategy for lasting treatment and even cure. | Lu Han Sanjun Shi Tao Gong Zhirong Zhang Xun Sun | 2013 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2013,3,2: | 4

Nucleic acid nanoassembly-enhanced RNA therapeutics and diagnosis显示文摘RNAs are involved in the crucial processes of disease progression and have emerged as powerful therapeutic targets and diagnostic biomarkers. However, efficient delivery of therapeutic RNA to the targeted location and precise detection of RNA markers remains challenging.Recently, more and more attention has been paid to applying nucleic acid nanoassemblies in diagnosing and treating.Due to the flexibility and deformability of nucleic acids, the nanoassemblies could be fabricated with different shapes and structures. With hybridization, nucleic acid nanoassemblies, including DNA and RNA nanostructures, can be applied to enhance RNA therapeutics and diagnosis. This review briefly introduces the construction and properties of different nucleic acid nanoassemblies and their applications for RNA therapy and diagnosis and makes further prospects for their development. | Mengnan Zhao Rujing Wang Kunmeng Yang Yuhong Jiang Yachen Peng Yuke Li Zhen Zhang Jianxun Ding Sanjun Shi | 2023 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2023,13,3: | 2
Frequent RNF43 mutation contributes to moderate activation of Wnt signaling in colorectal signet-ring cell carcinoma显示文摘Dear Editor,Signet-ring cell carcinoma(SRCC)is a rare subtype of colorectal cancer(CRC)characterized histologically by the accumulation of mucins in the cytoplasm and displacement of nuclei to the cellular periphery, accounting for about 1%CRC(Fig.S1A)(Borger et al.,2007).Compare to common subtypes of CRC,such as adenocarcinoma(AC)and mucinous adenocarcinoma(MAC),SRCC is associated with aggressive behaviors and younger age at presentation(Kang et al.,2005;Sung et al.,2008;Nitsche et al.,2013;Hugen et al.,2014;Inamura et al.,2015).A retrospective analysis of CRC patient's data at Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Center(FUSCC)also indicated a worse overall and disease-free survival of SRCC patients(Fig.S1B and S1C,Table S1). | Yaqi Li Jian Li Renjie Wang Long Zhang Guoxiang Fu Xueying Wang Yebin Wang Chuantao Fang Dandan Zhang Duo Du Xiaoji Ma Mengxue Pan Qiang Guo Xiaoya Xu Xiang Hu Yi Zhou Shaobo Mo Huijun Wang Jianjun Gao Shenglin Huang Yun Liu Sanjun Cai Guoqiang Hua Junjie Peng Fa-Xing Yu | 2020 | Protein & Cell2020,11,4: | 2
Novel DDS Based OFDM Transmitter Structure without IFFT and Interpolation Filter显示文摘The traditional orthogonal frequency divi-sion multiplexing(OFDM)transmitter is implemented by inverse fast Fourier transform(IFFT),up-sampling and low pass shaping filter(LPSF),which occupy a large number of hardware resources and have long la-tency.To further meet the 5G and future 6G commu-nication requirements, this paper proposes a novel di-rect digital synthesis(DDS)based OFDM transmitter structure that can replace these modules.Due to the strong parallelism of the system structure,it is very suitable for implementation on field programable gate array(FPGA)platform. After making two special sim-plifications to the primary structure, the refined struc-ture becomes very simple compared with the tradi-tional structures. Most attractively, the proposed struc-ture has the following three advantages that i)the data transformation from frequency domain to time domain has zero latency,ii)the transformation length does not need to be an integer power of 2 and iii)the struc-ture does not even need to use any multiplier, thus leading to low implementation complexity and high speed.Comparative experiments are carried out on Intel FPGA platform which show that our DDS based structure can save more than half of the resources com-pared with the traditional structures and can provide the same bit error rate(BER)performance under the condition without using any LPSF. | Sanjun Liu Guangming Gan | 2021 | China Communications2021,18,12: | 2
Highly Configurable Floating-Point FFT IP Core with Reusing Method显示文摘A highly configurable fast Fourier transform intellectual property core (FFT IP core) that can be mounted on Avalon bus of Nios II processor is designed in this paper, by the means of custombuilt components in SOPC Builder. Not only the data number can be configured to 2n and the data width can be configured as integer or floating-point number of 32 bits, but also the number of inner butterfly units is configurable, which can effectively resolve the contradiction between speed and hardware resource occupancy. The IP core is designed by butterfly computing elements of a mixed radix-4 and radix-2 algorithm and applies the inplace addressing scheme and reusing method to reduce hard-ware resources consumption. Functional simulation by Quartus Ⅱplatform proves that the results calculated by FFT IP core are ac-cordant with the Matlab results. Hardware test on DE2 development board by timestamp timer demonstrates that the FFT IP core costs only 34.8 μs to achieve FFT of 512 sampled data with precision of 32-bit floating point. It is demonstrated that the IP core has the advantages of feasible configuration, easy use, and high precision. | LIU Sanjun SUN Linjiao LI Shaowu YI Jinqiao MIAO Yuzhuang | 2013 | Wuhan University Journal of Natural Sciences2013,18,1: | 2
Approaching ohmic contact to two-dimensional semiconductors显示文摘Two-dimensional semiconductors have attracted immense research interests owing to their intriguing properties and promising applications in electronic and optoelectronic devices. However, the performance of these devices is drastically hindered by the large Schottky barrier at the electric contact interface, which is hardly tunable due to the Fermi level pinning effect. In this review,we will analyze the root causes of the contact problems for the two-dimensional semiconductor devices and summarize the strategies on the basis of different contact geometries, aiming to lift out the Fermi level pinning effect and achieve the ohmic contact. Moreover, the remarkable improvement of the device performance thanks to these optimized contacts will be emphasized. At the end,the merits and limitations of these strategies will be discussed as well, which potentially gives a guideline for handling the electric contact issues in two-dimensional semiconductors devices. | Kailang Liu Peng Luo Wei Han Sanjun Yang Shasha Zhou Huiqiao Li Tianyou Zhai | 2019 | Science Bulletin2019,64,19: | 2

Effect of midazolam on the proliferation of neural stem cells isolated from rat hippocampus显示文摘In many recent studies, the inhibitory transmitter gamma-aminobutyric acid has been shown to modulate the proliferation, differentiation and survival of neural stem cells. Most general anesthetics are partial or allosteric gamma-aminobutyric acid A receptor agonists, suggesting that general anesthetics could alter the behavior of neural stem cells. The neuroprotective efficacy of general anesthetics has been recognized for decades, but their effects on the proliferation of neural stem cells have received little attention. This study investigated the potential effect of midazolam,an extensively used general anesthetic and allosteric gamma-aminobutyric acid A receptor agonist,on the proliferation of neural stem cells in vitro and preliminarily explored the underlying mechanism. The proliferation of neural stem cells was tested using both Cell Counting Kit 8 and bromodeoxyuridine incorporation experiments.Cell distribution analysis was performed to describe changes in the cell cycle distribution in response to midazolam.Calcium imaging was employed to explore the molecular signaling pathways activated by midazolam.Midazolam(30-90 μM) decreased the proliferation of neural stem cells in vitro.Pretreatment with the gamma-aminobutyric acid A receptor antagonist bicuculline or Na-K-2Cl cotransport inhibitor furosemide partially rescued this inhibition. In addition, midazolam triggered a calcium influx into neural stem cells. The suppressive effect of midazolam on the proliferation of neural stem cells can be partly attributed to the activation of gamma-aminobutyric acid A receptor. The calcium influx triggered by midazolam may be a trigger factor leading to further downstream events. | Sanjun Zhao Yajing Zhu Rui Xue Yunfeng Li Hui Lu Weidong Mi | 2012 | Neural Regeneration Research2012,7,19: | 1

GLUT3 induced by AMPK/CREB1 axis is key for withstanding energy stress and augments the efficacy of current colorectal cancer therapies显示文摘Cancer cells are usually characterized by hyperactive glucose metabolism, which can often lead to glucose scarcity;thus, alternative pathways to rewire cancer metabolism are required. Here,we demonstrated that GLUT3 was highly expressed in colorectal cancer(CRC)and negatively linked to CRC patient outcomes, whereas GLUT1 was not associated with CRC prognosis.Under glucoselimiting conditions,GLUT3 expedited CRC cell growth by accelerating glucose input and fuelling nucleotide synthesis.Notably,GLUT3 had a greater impact on cell growth than GLUT1 under glucose-limiting stress.Mechanistically,low-glucose stress dramatically upregulated GLUT3 via the AMPK/CREB1 pathway.Furthermore, high GLUT3 expression remarkably increased the sensitivity of CRC cells to treatment with vitamin C and vitamin C-containing regimens.Together, the results of this study highlight the importance of the AMPK/CREB1/GLUT3 pathway for CRC cells to withstand glucose-limiting stress and underscore the therapeutic potential of vitamin C in CRC with high GLUT3 expression. | Weixing Dai Ye Xu Shaobo Mo Qingguo Li Jun Yu Renjie Wang Yanlei Ma Yan Ni Wenqiang Xiang Lingyu Han Long Zhang Sanjun Cai Jun Qin Wen-Lian Chen Wei Jia Guoxiang Cai | 2020 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2020,5,1: | 1
