| 1 | High-efficiency,large-area,topologyoptimized metasurfaces显示文摘Metasurfaces are ultrathin optical elements that are highly promising for constructing lightweight and compact optical systems.For their practical implementation,it is imperative to maximize the metasurface efficiency.Topology optimization provides a pathway for pushing the limits of metasurface efficiency;however,topology optimization methods have been limited to the design of microscale devices due to the extensive computational resources that are required.We introduce a new strategy for optimizing large-area metasurfaces in a computationally efficient manner.By stitching together individually optimized sections of the metasurface,we can reduce the computational complexity of the optimization from high-polynomial to linear.As a proof of concept,we design and experimentally demonstrate large-area,high-numerical-aperture silicon metasurface lenses with focusing efficiencies exceeding 90%.These concepts can be generalized to the design of multifunctional,broadband diffractive optical devices and will enable the implementation of large-area,high-performance metasurfaces in practical optical systems. | Thaibao Phan David Sell Evan W.Wang Sage Doshay Kofi Edee Jianji Yang Jonathan A.Fan | 2019 | Light(Science & Applications)2019，8，1： | 12 |
| 2 | Anterior rectopexy for full-thickness rectal prolapse: Technical and functional results显示文摘AIM:To assess effectiveness, complications, recurrence rate, and recent improvements of the anterior rectopexy procedure for treatment of total rectal prolapse.METHODS:MEDLINE, Pub Med, EMBASE, and other relevant database were searched to identify studies.Randomized controlled trials, non-randomized studies and original articles in English language, with more than 10 patients who underwent laparoscopic ventral rectopexy for full-thickness rectal prolapse, with a follow-up over 3 mo were considered for the review.RESULTS:Twelve non-randomized case series studies with 574 patients were included in the review.No surgical mortality was described.Conversion was needed in 17 cases(2.9%), most often due to difficult adhesiolysis.Twenty eight patients(4.8%) presented with major complications.Seven(1.2%) mesh-related complications were reported.Most frequent complications were urinary tract infection and urinary retention.Mean recurrence rate was 4.7% with a median follow-up of 23 mo.Improvement of constipation ranged from 3%-72% of the patients and worsening or new onset occurred in 0%-20%.Incontinence improved in 31%-84% patients who presented fecal incontinence at various stages.Evaluation of functional score was disparate between studies.CONCLUSION:Based on the low long-term recurrence rate and favorable outcome data in terms of low de novo constipation rate, improvement of anal incontinence, and low complications rate, laparoscopic anterior rectopexy seems to emerge as an efficient procedure for the treatment of patients with total rectal prolapse. | Jean-Luc Faucheron Bertrand Trilling Edouard Girard Pierre-Yves Sage Sandrine Barbois Fabian Reche | 2015 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2015，21，16： | 7 |

| 7 | Enhancement of cooperation between file systems and applications — VFS extensions for optimized performance显示文摘Modern operating systems incorporate an abstract layer called Virtual File System(VFS), which is positioned between user applications and real file systems to hide the differences of various file systems and to expose generic application interfaces for requesting file system services. However, VFS sometimes does not give applications an opportunity to pass information to file systems to help them make correct optimization decisions. In this paper, we review the Linux VFS, discuss its deficiencies and propose several extensions to allow applications to cooperate with the file systems more efficiently. We introduce simple prefetching interfaces and advisory flags to allow applications to communicate application-related semantics to VFS and/or the underlying file systems. These suggestions, which neither affect the semantics of applications nor modify their programming models, not only lead to simple VFS/file systems but also guide them to make correct performance-related decisions, if required. | 9 | Controlling the gelation temperature of biomimetic polyisocyanides显示文摘Thermosensitive polymers show an entropy-driven transition from a well-solvated to a poorly solvated polymer chain, resulting in a more compact globular conformation. The transition at the lower critical solution temperature(LCST) is often sharp, which allows for a wide range of smart material applications.At the LCST, oligo(ethylene glycol)-substituted polyisocyanides(PICs) form soft hydrogels, composed of polymer bundles similar to biological gels, such as actin, fibrin and intermediate filaments. Here, we show that the LCST of PICs strongly depends linearly on the length of the ethylene glycol(EG) tails; every EG group increases the LCSTand thus the gelation temperature by nearly 30 ℃. Using a copolymerisation approach, we demonstrate that we can precisely tailor the gelation temperature between 10 ℃ and 60 ℃and, consequently, tune the mechanical properties of the PIC gels. | Paul H.J.
