1Liquid-liquid interfacial tension of equilibrated mixtures of ionic liquids and hydrocarbons显示文摘Ionic liquids are possible alternative solvents for the separation of aromatic and aliphatic hydrocarbons by liquid-liquid extrac- tion. Interfacial tension is an important property to consider in the design of liquid-liquid extraction processes. In this work, the liquid-liquid interfacial tension and the mutual solubility at 25 °C have been measured for a series of biphasic, equilibrated mixtures of an ionic liquid and a hydrocarbon. In particular, the ionic liquids 1-alkyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluorome- thanesulfonyl)imide (with the alkyl substituent being ethyl, hexyl or decyl), 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium ethylsulfate, and 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium methanesulfonate have been selected, as well as the hydrocarbons benzene, hexane, ethylben- zene, and octane. The selected sets of ionic liquids and hydrocarbons allow the analysis of the influence of a series of effects on the interfacial tension. For example, the interfacial tension decreases with an increase in the length of the alkyl substituent chain of the cation or with an increase of the degree of charge delocalisation in the anion of the ionic liquid. Also, the interfa- cial tension with the aromatic hydrocarbons is markedly lower than that with the aliphatic hydrocarbons. A smaller effect is caused by variation of the size of the hydrocarbon. 2Comparative study of the efficacy and safety of bromfenac, nepafenac and diclofenac sodium for the prevention of cystoid macular edema after phacoemulsification显示文摘● AIM: To compare the efficacy, tolerability and safety of bromfenac 0.09%, nepafenac 0.1% or diclofenac 0.1% for the prophylaxis of the cystoid macular edema(CME) after phacoemulsification.● METHODS: Group sequential observational comparative study. After phacoemulsification, patients received two months for topical treatment of either diclofenac sodium, bromfenac or nepafenac. All patients received concomitant topical tobramycin 0.3% and topical prednisolone 1%. We measured CME using optical coherence tomography(OCT) central foveal thickness, macular thickness and total macular volume.● RESULTS: We enrolled 243 patients from January to June 2015, and 35% received diclofenac, 32.9% bromfenac and 32.1% nepafenac. When we compared pre-operative to three weeks to two months, bromfenac was more effective in reducing foveal volume(21.3 and 35.4 mm3, respectively), compared with the diclofenac(1.3 and 11.5 mm3, respectively), and the nepafenac group, became more edematous 6.4 and 5.3, respectively. Totally 133 patients completed the post-surgical satisfaction questionnaire. 10Pancreatic adenosquamous carcinoma and intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm in a CDKN2A germline mutation carrier显示文摘A 69-year-old woman from a kindred with familial atypical multiple mole melanoma and carrier of a germline mutation in CDKN2A, presented with abdominal pain caused by a solid-cystic pancreatic mass. The patient had an abdominal computed tomography three years before in which there was no evidence of pancreatic lesion. The endoscopic ultrasound guided fine needle aspiration showed adenocarcinoma with squamous component. After surgical resection the final diagnosis was adenosquamous pancreatic carcinoma(ASPC) arising in an intraductal papillar mucinous neoplasm(IPMN). Adenosquamous carcinomas are uncommon in the pancreas and have rarely been described in association with IPMNs. It has worse prognosis than the ordinary pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma and some distinct features. We review the clinical, imaging, pathologic and molecular aspects of ASPC. Differential diagnosis with contamination, squamous metaplasia and pancreatic metastases from a distant squamous carcinoma is discussed. Besides, the case is an accelerated model of the adenoma(IPMN)-carcinoma sequence probably due to the CDKN2A ger-mline mutation. 14Nanofluid based on 1-dodecylpyridinium chloride for enhanced oil recovery显示文摘The use of nanoparticles is considered promising for enhanced oil recovery(EOR),especially when they are combined with surfactants.However,the combination of nano-sized material with surface-active ionic liquids(SAILs)is an unexplored EOR method.In this work,the advantages of mixing Al2O3 nanoparticles with the SAIL 1-dodecylpyridinium chloride were investigated.Stable nanofluids in brine could only be achieved using the polymer polyvinylpyrrolidone(PVP)as a stabilizing agent.It was found that the addition of nanoparticles(and PVP)to the surfactant formulation helped to:slightly increase its viscosity,enhance its water-oil interfacial tension(IFT)reduction capacity,and reduce the adsorption on carbonate rocks(adsorption on sandstone was found to be excessive).IFT was selected as target property to minimize for the design of EOR formulations.Core flooding tests were carried out with surfactant(0.5 wt%[C_(12)py]Cl),surfactant-polymer(0.5 wt%[C_(12)py]Cl,1.0 wt%PVP)and nanofluid(0.05 wt%Al_(2)O_(3),1.0 wt%PVP,0.5 wt%[C12py]Cl)formulations in brine(0.5 wt%NaCl).Additional oil recoveries of 3.4%,7.4%and 12.0%OOIP were achieved,respectively,the nanofluid formulation being the most promising for the application.Moreover,it was found capable of changing the wettability of carbonate rocks from oilwet to intermediate-wet.The significance of this work lies in showing the new possibilities resulting from the combination of SAILs and nanoparticles for EOR,specifically the combination of[C_(12)py]Cl with Al_(2)O_(3).Akram Al-Asadi Alba Somoza Alberto Arce Eva Rodil Ana Soto 2023Petroleum Science2023,20,1:0
15Co-occurrence of germline pathogenic variants for different hereditary cancer syndromes in patients with Lynch syndrome显示文摘Background:Lynch syndrome(LS)is a hereditary condition characterized by a high risk of colorectal cancer,endometrial cancer,and other neoplasia associated with germline alterations in DNA mismatch repair genes.The classical genetic diagnostic strategy for LS consists of the Sanger sequencing of genes associated with the suspected syndrome.Next-generation sequencing(NGS)enables the simultaneous sequencing of a large number of hereditary cancer genes.Here,we aimed to study whether other germline pathogenic variants of hereditary cancer genes are present in patients with LS.Methods:A cohort of 84 probands with a previous genetic diagnosis of LS by Sanger sequencing was reanalyzed using NGS via a commercial panel of 94 hereditary cancer genes by hybrid capture.The American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics criteria were used to classify the clinical significance of the variants.The findings of NGS were confirmed by Sanger sequencing.When possible,genetic analyses of the new findings in the proband’s relativeswere also performed by Sanger sequencing.Results:We identified five families(6%),out of 84,with at least two germline pathogenic variants conferring to high or moderate risk in different dominant cancer-predisposing genes:[MLH1-BRCA2-NBN],[MLH1-BRCA1],[MSH2-ATM],[MSH6-NF1],and[MLH1-FANCA].Interestingly,only one out of these five families exhibited a clinical phenotype associated with the new pathogenic variants.The family with three pathogenic variants of the[MLH1-BRCA2-NBN]genes showed a high aggregation of tumors associated with LS and breast and ovarian cancer syndrome.Conclusions:Our results showed that the co-occurrence of more than one pathogenic variant in cancer-predisposing genes was remarkable among cases of LS.Inmost cases,no clinicial manifestations were associated with the secondary pathogenic variants.Further studies are needed to confirm these findings and elucidate their clinical impact.Reanalysis of LS families should be considered only in families with mixed clinical phenotypes.Rosario Ferrer-Avargues Maria Isabel Castillejo Estela Damaso Virginia Diez-Obrero Noemi Garrigos Tatiana Molina Alan Codoner-Alejos Angel Segura Ana Beatriz Sanchez-Heras Adela Castillejo Jose Luis Soto 2021Cancer Communications2021,41,3:0
16Oil recovery tests with ionic liquids: A review and evaluation of 1-decyl-3-methylimidazolium triflate显示文摘The main advantages of the use of ionic liquids in enhanced oil recovery are their tunability and stability in harsh environmental conditions. In this work, a comprehensive review of ionic liquids proposed to improve current chemical oil recovery methods has been presented, focusing on core flooding experiments. With an almost infinite number of possible ionic liquids, the amount of experiments carried out up to now has been very limited. However, results are promising, with additional recovery after secondary flooding of up to 32% of the original oil in place. Most formulations with ionic liquids have been proposed for sandstone reservoirs, the number of studies with carbonate cores being very scarce. The possibilities of a new room temperature surface active ionic liquid, 1-decyl-3-methylimidazolium triflate,for this application were analyzed. It was shown that it is able to drastically reduce the water/oil interfacial tension. An optimized formulation was proposed for carbonate reservoirs. After secondary flooding with brine, an additional recovery of 10.5% of original oil in place was achieved at room conditions. A combination of the proposed method followed by a polymer flooding step with polyacrylamide led to a lesser but still significant recovery, reducing the costs associated to the ionic liquid.Alba Somoza Alberto Arce Ana Soto 2022Petroleum Science2022,19,4:0
