| 1 | Programmed death ligand-1 expression and its prognostic role in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma显示文摘AIM To investigate the expression and prognostic role of programmed death ligand-1(PD-L1) in locally advanced esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC).METHODS A total of 200 patients with ESCC who underwent radical esophagectomy with standard lymphadenectomy as the initial definitive treatment in Seoul National University Hospital from December 2000 to April 2013 were eligible for this analysis. Tissue microarrays were constructed by collecting tissue cores from surgical specimens, and immunostained with antibodies directed against PD-L1, p16, and c-Met. Medical records were reviewed retrospectively to assess clinical outcomes. Patients were divided into two groups by PD-L1 status, and significant differences in clinicopathologic characteristics between the two groups were assessed. RESULTS Tumor tissues from 67 ESCC patients(33.5%) were PDL1-positive. Positive p16 expression was observed in 21 specimens(10.5%). The H-score for c-Met expression was ≥ 50 in 42 specimens(21.0%). Although PDL1-positivity was not significantly correlated with any clinical characteristics including age, sex, smoking/alcoholic history, stage, or differentiation, H-scores for c-Met expression were significantly associated with PDL1-positivity(OR = 2.34, 95%CI: 1.16-4.72, P = 0.017). PD-L1 expression was not significantly associated with a change in overall survival(P = 0.656). In contrast, the locoregional relapse rate tended to increase(P = 0.134), and the distant metastasis rate was significantly increased(HR = 1.72, 95%CI: 1.01-2.79, P = 0.028) in patients with PD-L1-positive ESCC compared to those with PD-L1-negative ESCC.CONCLUSION PD-L1 expression is positively correlated with c-Met expression in ESCC. | 2 | Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease is associated with coronary artery disease in Koreans显示文摘AIM:To investigate whether nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)affects coronary artery disease(CAD)and identify candidate mediators.METHODS:Patients who underwent coronary angiography were consecutively recruited.The patients were classified into four groups by coronary artery stenosis:A,insignificant;B,one-vessel disease;C,two-vessel disease;and D,three-vessel disease.Abdominal ultrasonography was performed to determine the presence of a fatty liver and categorize by grade:0,no evidence;1,mild;2,moderate;and 3,severe.We measured not only known CAD risk factors,but also serum insulin,HOMA-index,adiponectin,interleukin-6,tumor necrosis factor-αand high-sensitivity C-reactive protein levels.RESULTS:Of the 134 patients who met the inclusion criteria,82(61.2%)had ultrasonographically diagnosed NAFLD.Among the 46 patients with CAD,37(80.4%)had evidence of a fatty liver.The two groups(A vs B-D)were significantly different in terms of age,total cholesterol,triglycerides,low-density lipoprotein levels and fatty liver.Coronary artery stenosis was strongly associated with fatty liver in a grade-dependent manner(P=0.025).In binary logistic regression,NAFLD was a significant independent predictor of CAD(P=0.03,OR=1.685;95%CI:1.051-2.702).Among the candidate mediators,the serum adiponectin level showed a trend toward lowering based on CAD progression(P=0.071).CONCLUSION:NAFLD is an independent risk factor for CAD in a grade-dependent manner.Moreover,adiponectin might be related to the pathogenesis of NAFLD. | Dae Hee Choi Sung Joon Lee Chang Don Kang Myoung Ok Park Dong Wook Choi Tae Suk Kim Wonho Lee Byung Ryul Cho Yong Hoon Kim Bong-ki Lee Dong Ryeol Ryu Ji Won Lee | 2013 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2013，19，38： | 5 |
| 3 | DIRECT NUMERICAL SIMULATIONS OF THE DYNAMICS OF PARTICLES WITH ARBITRARY SHAPES IN SHEAR FLOWS显示文摘A fluid-structure interaction method based on the arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian method and a dynamic mesh method was developed to simulate the dynamics of a rigid particle in shear flows.In the method,the governing equations for the fluid flow and particle motion were sequentially solved in a two-way coupling fashion.The mesh system was deformed or re-meshed by the dynamic mesh method.The method was employed to simulate the dynamics of a single particle suspended in a flow channel and the dynamics of the particle were studied.The simulation results show that the angular velocity is not only a function of the inclination angle,is but also influenced by the aspect ratio yielding a hysteresis,while the angular velocity obtained from the Keller-Scalak model is a function only of the inclination angle and does not show a hysteresis.The present simulations clearly demonstrate that the Fluid-Structure Interaction(FSI) module is very stable,accurate and robust. | CHOI Choeng Ryul KIM Chang Nyung | 2010 | Journal of Hydrodynamics2010，22，4： | 4 |

| 10 | Empirical Analysis of Software Success Rate Forecasting During Requirement Engineering Processes显示文摘Forecasting on success or failure of software has become an interesting and,in fact,an essential task in the software development industry.In order to explore the latest data on successes and failures,this research focused on certain questions such as is early phase of the software development life cycle better than later phases in predicting software success and avoiding high rework?What human factors contribute to success or failure of a software?What software practices are used by the industry practitioners to achieve high quality of software in their day-to-day work?In order to conduct this empirical analysis a total of 104 practitioners were recruited to determine how human factors,misinterpretation,and miscommunication of requirements and decision-making processes play their roles in software success forecasting.We discussed a potential relationship between forecasting of software success or failure and the development processes.We noticed that experienced participants had more confidence in their practices and responded to the questionnaire in this empirical study,and they were more likely to rate software success forecasting linking to the development processes.Our analysis also shows that cognitive bias is the central human factor that negatively affects forecasting of software success rate.The results of this empirical study also validated that requirements’misinterpretation and miscommunication were themain causes behind software systems’failure.It has been seen that reliable,relevant,and trustworthy sources of information help in decision-making to predict software systems’success in the software industry.This empirical study highlights a need for other software practitioners to avoid such bias while working on software projects.Future investigation can be performed to identify the other human factors that may impact software systems’success. | Muhammad Hasnain Imran Ghani Seung Ryul Jeong Muhammad Fermi Pasha Sardar Usman Anjum Abbas | 2023 | Computers, Materials & Continua2023，，1： | 1 |
