1Pathophysiological mechanisms and therapeutic approaches in obstructive sleep apnea syndrome显示文摘Obstructive sleep apnea syndrome(OSAS)is a common breathing disorder in sleep in which the airways narrow or collapse during sleep,causing obstructive sleep apnea.The prevalence of OSAS continues to rise worldwide,particularly in middle-aged and elderly individuals.The mechanism of upper airway collapse is incompletely understood but is associated with several factors,including obesity,craniofacial changes,altered muscle function in the upper airway,pharyngeal neuropathy,and fluid shifts to the neck.The main characteristics of OSAS are recurrent pauses in respiration,which lead to intermittent hypoxia(IH)and hypercapnia,accompanied by blood oxygen desaturation and arousal during sleep,which sharply increases the risk of several diseases.This paper first briefly describes the epidemiology,incidence,and pathophysiological mechanisms of OSAS.Next,the alterations in relevant signaling pathways induced by IH are systematically reviewed and discussed.For example,IH can induce gut microbiota(GM)dysbiosis,impair the intestinal barrier,and alter intestinal metabolites.These mechanisms ultimately lead to secondary oxidative stress,systemic inflammation,and sympathetic activation.We then summarize the effects of IH on disease pathogenesis,including cardiocerebrovascular disorders,neurological disorders,metabolic diseases,cancer,reproductive disorders,and COVID-19.Finally,different therapeutic strategies for OSAS caused by different causes are proposed.Multidisciplinary approaches and shared decision-making are necessary for the successful treatment of OSAS in the future,but more randomized controlled trials are needed for further evaluation to define what treatments are best for specific OSAS patients.Renjun Lv Xueying Liu Yue Zhang Na Dong Xiao Wang Yao He Hongmei Yue Qingqing Yin 2023Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2023,8,6:8

3Allelopathic growth inhibition of Heterosigma akashiwo by the three Ulva spcieces(Ulva Pertusa,Ulva Linza,Enteromorpha intestinalis) under laboratory conditions显示文摘Allelopathic effects of several concentrations of fresh tissue,dry powder and dry tissue of three bloom-forming green macroalgae Ulva pertusa,Ulva linza and Enteromopha intestinalis on the red tide microalga Heterosigma akashiwo were evaluated in microcosms systems.The effects of macroalgae culture medium filtrate were investigated on H.akashiwo using initial or semi-continuous filtrate addition.Preliminary studies on the algicidal effects of one aqueous and four organic solvent extracts from the macroalgae on the microalga were carried out to confirm the existence of allelochemicals in the tissue of these macroalgae.The dry powder of U.pertusa was extracted with methanol,and the methanol extracts were partitioned to petroleum ether phase,ethyl acetate phase,butanol phase and distilled phase by liquid-liquid fractionation.The bioassays of the activity of every fraction were carried out on H.akashiwo.The resultant microcosms assay showed that the growth of H.akashiwo was strongly inhibited by using fresh tissues,dry powder or dry tissue of these three macroalgae,while aqueous and methanol extracts of both macroalgae had strong inhibitory effects on the growth of H.akashiwo,and the EC 50 values for methanol extract of U.pertusa,U.linza or E.intestinalis were 0.016,0.028×10-12 or 0.033×10-12,respectively.While the other three organic solvent extracts(acetone,ether and chloroform) had no apparent effect on its growth,this suggests that the allelochemicals from these three macroalgae had relatively high polarities.The activity of petroleum ether phase,ethyl acetate phase,butanol phase and distilled phase of U.pertusa methanol extract was carried out on H.akashiwo indicating that petroleum ether phase and ethyl acetate phase had stronger algicidal effect on H.akashiwo.The inhibition effect of the ethyl acetate phase was not as strong as that of petroleum ether phase,and effective concentration of petroleum ether phase was 17 mg/L for H.akashiwo.However,no significant algicidal effects were observed on the butanol phase and distilled water phase.These three macroalgae's culture medium filtrate exhibited no apparent growth inhibitory effect on the microalga under initial filtrate addition whereas the growth of H.akashiwo was significantly inhibited under semi-continuous filtrate addition,which suggests that continuous release of small quantities of rapidly degradable allelochemicals from the fresh tissue of both macroalgae was effective in inhibiting the growth of H.akashiwo.WANG Renjun FENG Lei TANG Xuexi WANG Jinhe DONG Shuanglin 2012Acta Oceanologica Sinica2012,31,3:7
4Characterizing the antibiotic resistance genes in a river catchment: Influence of anthropogenic activities显示文摘Previous studies on environmental antibiotics resistance genes(ARGs) have focused on the pollution sources such as wastewater treatment plants, aquaculture and livestock farms,etc. Few of them had addressed this issue in a regional scale such as river catchment. Hence,the occurrence and abundances of 23 ARGs were investigated in surface water samples collected from 38 sites which located from the river source to estuary of the Beijiang River.Among them, 11 ARGs were frequently detected in this region and 5 ARGs(sul I, sul II, tet B,tet C, and tet W) were selected for their distribution pattern analysis. The abundances of the selected ARGs were higher in the upstream(8.70 × 10~6 copies/ng DNA) and downstream areas(3.17 × 10~6 copies/ng DNA) than those in the midstream areas(1.23 × 10~6 copies/ng DNA), which was positively correlated to the population density and number of pollution sources. Pollution sources of ARGs along the Beijiang River not only had a great impact on the abundances and diversity, but also on the distribution of specific ARGs in the water samples. Both sul I and sul II were likely originated from aquaculture farms and animal farms,tet W gene was possibly associated with the mining/metal melting industry and the electric waste disposal and tet C gene was commonly found in the area with multiple pollution sources.However, the abundance of tet B was not particularly related to anthropogenic impacts. 5Self-organized search-attack mission planning for UAV swarm based on wolf pack hunting behavior显示文摘Cooperative search-attack is an important application of unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)swarm in military field.The coupling between path planning and task allocation,the heterogeneity of UAVs,and the dynamic nature of task environment greatly increase the complexity and difficulty of the UAV swarm cooperative search-attack mission planning problem.Inspired by the collaborative hunting behavior of wolf pack,a distributed selforganizing method for UAV swarm search-attack mission planning is proposed.First,to solve the multi-target search problem in unknown environments,a wolf scouting behavior-inspired cooperative search algorithm for UAV swarm is designed.Second,a distributed self-organizing task allocation algorithm for UAV swarm cooperative attacking of targets is proposed by analyzing the flexible labor division behavior of wolves.By abstracting the UAV as a simple artificial wolf agent,the flexible motion planning and group task coordinating for UAV swarm can be realized by self-organizing.The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by a set of simulation experiments,the stability and scalability are evaluated,and the integrated solution for the coupled path planning and task allocation problems for the UAV swarm cooperative search-attack task can be well performed.HU Jinqiang WU Husheng ZHAN Renjun MENASSEL Rafik ZHOU Xuanwu 2021Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics2021,32,6:6
6Strength and Stability Analysis of Deep Sea Drilling Risers显示文摘In order to analyze the influence of vortex-induced vibration on the strength and stability of marine drilling risers, a simplified analytical model was established and a method for calculating vortex-induced dynamic response was developed. A case study indicated that at primary resonance, first-order dynamic displacement response is greater than higher-order mode responses, but the influence of dynamic moment and shearing force of higher-order modes cannot be ignored. The natural frequency of risers decreased sharply with increasing length of the riser, but increased with increasing top tension. 7Occurrence of human pathogenic bacteria carrying antibiotic resistance genes revealed by metagenomic approach: A case study from an aquatic environment显示文摘Antibiotic resistance genes(ARGs), human pathogenic bacteria(HPB), and HPB carrying ARGs are public issues that pose a high risk to aquatic environments and public health. Their diversity and abundance in water, intestine, and sediments of shrimp culture pond were investigated using metagenomic approach. A total of 19 classes of ARGs, 52 HPB species, and 7 species of HPB carrying ARGs were found. Additionally, 157, 104, and 86 subtypes of ARGs were detected in shrimp intestine, pond water, and sediment samples, respectively. In all the samples, multidrug resistance genes were the highest abundant class of ARGs. The dominant HPB was Enterococcus faecalis in shrimp intestine, Vibrio parahaemolyticus in sediments, and Mycobacterium yongonense in water, respectively. Moreover, E. faecalis(contig Intestine_364647)and Enterococcus faecium(contig Intestine_80272) carrying efr A, efr B and ANT(6)-Ia were found in shrimp intestine, Desulfosaricina cetonica(contig Sediment_825143) and Escherichia coli(contig Sediment_188430) carrying mex B and APH(3′)-IIa were found in sediments, and Laribacter hongkongensis(contig Water_478168 and Water_369477), Shigella sonnei(contig Water_880246),and Acinetobacter baumannii(contig Water_525520) carrying sul1, sul2, ere A, qac H, OXA-21, and mph D were found in pond water. Mobile genetic elements(MGEs) analysis indicated that horizontal gene transfer(HGT) of integrons, insertion sequences, and plasmids existed in shrimp intestine, sediment, and water samples, and the abundance of integrons was higher than that of other two MGEs. 9Oscillating Cellulase Adsorption and Enhanced Lignocellulose Hydrolysis upon Ultrasound Treatment显示文摘We investigated the effects of ultrasound treatment on cellulase adsorption and lignocellulose hydrolysis.The activity of cellulase remained constant upon lowpower ultrasound treatment(<120 W) and decreased using high-power ultrasound(>280 W).Oscillating cellulase adsorption occurred upon ultrasound treatment with any intensity.The maxima for desorption and adsorption were41.9 and 83.1%,respectively,during 1 h of 90 W ultrasound treatment at 50 °C.A comparison between the shorttime with long-time ultrasound experiments indicated that ultrasound treatment tended to desorb cellulase from substrate.However,ultrasound treatment also led to further surface erosion of biomass,which increased cellulase accessibility.These joint actions of ultrasound treatment induced the oscillating adsorption of cellulase.The increase in cellulase accessibility caused by ultrasound treatment led to a significant enhancement in lignocellulose hydrolysis.Rongxin Su Renjun Yang Yang Jifeng Ruoyu Du Renliang Huang Wei Qi Zhimin He 2017Transactions of Tianjin University2017,23,1:3

11Removal of elemental mercury by photocatalytic oxidation over La_(2)O_(3)/Bi_(2)O_(3)composite显示文摘La_(2)O_(3)/Bi_(2)O_(3)photocatalysts were prepared by impregnation of Bi_(2)O_(3)with an aqueous solution of lanthanum precursor followed by calcination at different temperatures.The composite materials were used for the first time for the photocatalytic removal of Hg~0 from a simulated flue gas under UV light irradiation.The results showed that the sample containing 6 wt.%La_(2)O_(3)and calcined at 500°C has the highest dispersion of the active sites,which was promoted by the strong interaction with the support(i.e.,the formation of Bi-O-La species).Since they are fully accessible on the surface,the material also exhibits excellent optical properties while the heterojunction formed in La_(2)O_(3)/Bi_(2)O_(3)promotes the separation and migration of photoelectron-hole pairs and thus Hg~0 oxidation efficiency is enhanced.The effects of the various factors(e.g.,the reaction temperature and composition of the simulated flue gas(i.e.,O_(2),NO,H_(2)O,and SO_(2)))on the efficiency of the Hg~0 photocatalytic oxidation were investigated.The results demonstrated that O_(2)and SO_(2)enhanced the efficiency of the reaction while the reaction temperature,NO,and H_(2)O had an inhibitory effect.Renjun Li Yanan Zhou Xueqian Wang Langlang Wang Ping Ning Lei Tao Jun Cai 2021Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,4:2

14Peptide NGR Modified TiO_(2) Nanofiber Substrate for Circulating Tumor Cells Capture显示文摘The analysis of circulating tumor cells(CTCs)allows a noninvasive method of“real-time liquid biopsy”from the blood samples of cancer patients for the diagnosis of early-stage cancer,prognosis,and monitoring therapeutic response.In this study,we develop a simple,inexpensive,and reliable method that utilizes a small molecule peptide,the asparagine-glycine-arginine(NGR),as a capture probe for the selective enrichment and isolation of circulating tumor cells(CTCs).The multiscale TiO_(2) nanofibers are obtained by electrospinning and calcination.Bovine serum albumin(BSA)is decorated onto TiO_(2) nanofiber surfaces to inhibit non-target cell adhesion,while NGR peptides are conjugated onto the TiO_(2)-BSA surface through the glutaraldehyde(GA)to specifically capture the target cells.The TiO_(2)-BSA-NGR substrate exhibits a high capture sensitivity and efficiency from the mimical blood samples with PC-3 cancer cells as low as 10 cells/mL.The TiO_(2) nanofiber substrate can be a promising strategy for the capture and enumeration of CTCs in cancer progression monitoring.Changchong Chen Zeen Wu Pi Ding Na Sun Hui Liu Yong Chen Zhili Wang Renjun Pei 2020Advanced Fiber Materials2020,2,4:2
