| 1 | Molecular study on Y chromosome microdeletions in Egyptian males with idiopathic infertility显示文摘Aim:To determine the frequency of genetic deletions within the azoospermia factors in Egyptian infertile males.Methods:The Yq microdeletions in 33 infertile males with undetectable chromosomal anomalies were examined by mutiplex polymerase chain reaction (PCR).Deletions were confirmed using single PCR amplifications.Results:Four out of the total 33 (12%) men had Yqll microdeletions,thus supporting the average reported figures in other populations.Three of those 4 cases had single short tandem sequence deletions with discrete histological findings of their testes.Single sY272 deletion within AZFc was associated with Sertoli cell only syndrome,whereas a patient with isolated sY84 deletion within AZFa had immature testicular structure.The remaining case had a large deletion in AZFa-c and short stature.Conclusion:The present study supports the hypothesis that the Yq11 encompasses genetic determinants of stature besides genes controlling spermatogenesis.(Asian J Androl 2004 Mar;6:53-57) | Mostafa K. | 2 | Ankle and foot mechanics in individuals with chronic ankle instability during shod walking and barefoot walking:A cross-sectional study显示文摘Purpose:This study evaluated the angular kinematic and moment of the ankle and foot during shod walking and barefoot walking in individuals with unilateral chronic ankle instability(CAI).Methods:Recreational soccer players with unilateral CAI were recruited for this cross sectional study conducted between January and August 2019.A total of 40 participants were screened for eligibility but only 31 met the inclusion criteria based on the methods of Delahunt et al and Gribble et al.Except for 3 participants not attending the evaluation session,28 participants were finally included.A three dimensional motion analysis system made up of ProReflex motion capture unit and an AMTIb Kistler force plate,embedded in the middle of nine meter walkway,were used to assess the ankle and foot angles and moment during shod walking and barefoot walking conditions.A Statistical Package for Social Sciences(version 20.0)was used to analyze data.Results:During shod walking,the ankle joint plantar-flexion range of motion(ROM)at 10%of the gait cycle(GC)and dorsiflexion ROM at 30%of the GC were significantly higher than those during barefoot walking for both feet(p=0.001,0.001,0.027,and 0.036 respectively).The inversion ROM during shod walking was significantly higher than that during barefoot walking for both feet at 10%and 30%of the GC(p=0.001.0.001,0.001,and 0.042 respectively).At 10%of the GC,the eversion moment was significantly higher between barefoot and shod walking for both feet(both p=0.001).At 30%of the GC,there was no significant difference between shod and barefoot walking plantar-flexion moment of both feet(p=0.975 and 0.763 respectively),and the eversion moment of both feet(p=0.116 and 0.101 respectively).Conclusion:At the early stance,shod walking increases the ankle plantar-flexion and foot inversion ROM,and decreases the eversion moment for both feet in subjects with unilateral CAI.Therefore,the foot wearing condition should be considered during evaluation of ankle and foot kinematics and kinetics. | Osama Ragaa Abdelraouf Amr Almaz Abdel-aziem | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Traumatology2021，24，3： | 4 |
| 3 | Molecular mechanisms of the anti-obesity potential effect of Moringa oleifera in the experimental model显示文摘Objective: To elucidate the molecular mechanisms of the potent anti-obesity effect of Moringa oleifera Lam.(M. oleifera) ethanolic extract and to clarify the link between these mechanisms and the associated metabolic and vascular risks in the experimental model of visceral obesity.Methods: M. oleifera ethanolic extract was orally administered at 600 mg/kg body weight in obese female rats daily for 12 weeks. At the end of treatment, body weight was determined, and the atherogenic index, coronary artery index, glucose level, insulin resistance status, liver and kidney functions were assessed. Also, the m RNA of leptin, adiponectin and resistin in visceral adipose tissue was determined by quantitative real time-PCR.Results: The results showed that M. oleifera extract down-regulated m RNA expression of leptin and resistin, while it up-regulated adiponectin gene expression in obese rats relative to untreated obese control counterparts. This amelioration of genes expression was paralleled by a reduction in body weight and improvement of the atherogenic index and coronary artery index, as well as glucose level and insulin resistance value without adverse effects on liver or kidney functions, versus the untreated obese control ones.Conclusions: It is reasonable to assume that the anti-obesity, anti-atherogenic and antidiabetic properties of M. oleifera are mechanistically achieved via working directly on the adipokines of the visceral adipose tissue. | 8 | Chromatic Mapping of Partial Discharge Signals显示文摘This contribution describes the use of chromatic techniques for quantifying signatures of partial discharges(PD).A brief description of the basis of chromatic monitoring is given along with explanations of how the approach may be applied for addressing signals produced by PDs.Laboratory test data from several sources for different types of PDs,operating conditions and geometries have been subjected to the chromatic procedures.These include a point-plane gap,a sphere in a liquid and treeing in a cable.Chromatic changes in PD signals have been investigated as a function of the amplitude of the alternating voltage producing the PD,the time duration before full electrical breakdown and for different forms of PDs.Results of the chromatic processing of these data are presented in the form of a number of chromatic maps relating to different quarter cycles of the alternating voltage producing the PDs.The results show the potential of the chromatic techniques for indicating the likelihood of full electrical breakdown and for distinguishing between certain forms of PDs.A summary of the chromatic processing procedures is presented for producing chromatic maps and for adaptation in further exploring PD signal features. | M. | 14 | A Study of Traveling Wave Structures and Numerical Investigation of Two-Dimensional Riemann Problems with Their Stability and Accuracy显示文摘The Riemann wave system has a fundamental role in describing waves in various nonlinear natural phenomena,for instance,tsunamis in the oceans.This paper focuses on executing the generalized exponential rational function approach and some numerical methods to obtain a distinct range of traveling wave structures and numerical results of the two-dimensional Riemann problems.The stability of obtained traveling wave solutions is analyzed by satisfying the constraint conditions of the Hamiltonian system.Numerical simulations are investigated via the finite difference method to verify the accuracy of the obtained results.To extract the approximation solutions to the underlying problem,some ODE solvers in FORTRAN software are applied,and outcomes are shown graphically.The stability and accuracy of the numerical schemes using Fourier’s stabilitymethod and error analysis,respectively,to increase the reassurance are investigated.A comparison between the analytical and numerical results is obtained and graphically provided.The proposed methods are effective and practical to be applied for solving more partial differential equations(PDEs). | Abdulghani Ragaa Alharbi | 2023 | Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences2023，，3： | 0 |
