| 1 | Insights into Cronobacter sakazakii Biofilm Formation and Control Strategies in the Food Industry显示文摘Cronobacter sakazakii(C.sakazakii)is a foodborne opportunistic pathogen that can cause life-threatening invasive diseases,such as necrotizing enterocolitis,meningitis,and sepsis in infants.The potential risk of C.sakazakii contamination of powdered infant formula(PIF)is an issue that has attracted considerable attention from manufacturers,regulators,and consumers.C.sakazakii biofilms on the surfaces of equipment and in diverse food-production environments constitute a mode of cell growth that protects the pathogen from hostile environments,and are an important source of persistent contamination of food products.Bacterial biofilms are difficult to remove due to their resistant properties.Conventional cleaning and sterilizing procedures may be insufficient for biofilm control,and may lead to further biofilm development and dispersal.Consequently,novel control strategies are being developed,such as nanotechnology-based delivery systems,interspecies interactions,antimicrobial molecules of microbial origin,natural extracts,and phages.This review focuses on describing the mechanisms underlying the biofilm formation and behavior of C.sakazakii and discussing potential control strategies. | Na Ling Stephen Forsythe Qingping Wu Yu Ding Jumei Zhang Haiyan Zeng | 2020 | Engineering2020,6,4: | 10 |
| 2 | Simultaneously Enhanced Cryogenic Tensile Strength,Ductility and Impact Resistance of Epoxy Resins by Polyethylene Glycol显示文摘Rubbers have been well accepted for modifying brittle epoxies but rubber modified epoxies usually posses lowered tensile strength though enhanced ductility and fracture resistance.In this work,a polyethylene glycol(PEG-4000) is used to modify diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A/methyltetrahydrophthalic anhydride system for enhancing cryogenic tensile strength,ductility and impact resistance.The results display that the cryogenic tensile strength,ductility(failure strain) and fracture resistance(impact strength) are all enhanced for the modified epoxy system at proper PEG contents.The maximum tensile strength(127.8 MPa) at the cryogenic temperature(77 K) with an improvement of 30.1%is observed for the modified system with the 15 wt%PEG content.The ductility and impact resistance at both room temperature and cryogenic temperature are all improved for the modified epoxy system with proper PEG-4000 contents.These observations are explained by the positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy results and scanning electron microscopy results.Moreover,the glass transition temperature decreases slightly with increasing PEG content. | Qingping Feng Jiaoping Yang Yu Liu Hongmei Xiao Shaoyun Fu | 2014 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2014,30,1: | 6 |

| 4 | Alteration of P2X3 expression in dorsal root ganglia after sciatic nerve ligation显示文摘BACKGROUND:The expressions of P2X3 receptor in dorsal root ganglia(DRG)after different peripheral nerve injuries are diverse.It indicates the different roles of P2X3 in different models-caused neuropathologic pains.OBJECTIVE:To observe the expressions of P2X3 in corresponding DRG after sciatic nerve ligation in rats.DESIGN:Controlled observation experiment.SETTING:Department of Morphology,Hunan Traditional Chinese Medical College;Department of Human Anatomy and Neurobiology,Xiangya Medical College,Central South University.MATERIALS:Thirty-five healthy adult SD rats of clean grade an d either gender,weighing(200±20)g,were involved.According to the random digits table,the involved rats were randomized into 3 groups:normal group(n =5),sham-operated group(n =5)and experimental group(n =25).The experimental group were subdivided into 3,7,14,21,28 days groups according to different surviving time after operation,5 rats at each time point.Polyclonal rabbit anti-P2X3 antibody(ABCAM company);biotinylated goat anti-rabbit IgG(Zhongshanjingqiao Biotechnical Co.,Ltd.,Beijing);Motic fluorescence microscope(Motic,Germany).METHODS:The experiments were carried out in the Department of Human Anatomy and Neurobiology,Xiangya Medical College,Central South University from June to December 2006.① Rats of experimental group were created into models by ligation of right sciatic nerve according to the method of Seltzer et al.Left sciatic nerve was used as self-control.As for rats in the sham-operated group,ligation of sciatic nerve was omitted,but other procedures were the same as those in the experimental group.Rats of normal group were untouched.② Rats of the normal group and sham-operated group survived for 14 days separately,and those of experimental group survived for corresponding time.After being deeply anesthetized by intraperitoneal injection of over-dose sodium pentobarbital,the rats of experimental group were transcardially perfused.L4-6 corresponding DRG connected to sciatic nerve were taken for preparing transverse sections serially.③P2X3 expression in L4-6 DRG was detected by immunohistochemistry,immunofluorescence and image analysis techniques.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:P2X3 expression in L4-6 DRG of rats in each group.RESULTS:Thirty-five SD rats were involved in the final analysis.① P2X3 expression in DRG:In normal DRG of rats,there were abundant P2X3 immuno-positive small-and medium-sized primary sensory neurons,especially the small ones,which mostly received the input from C fibers.There were only a few large neurons expressing P2X3.The immuno-positive products mostly were located in the cytoplasm and processes.The expression of P2X3 had a slight but significant decrease in ipsilateral L4-6 DRG 3 days after sciatic nerve ligation,and a decreasing tendency was observed with the elongation of time.At 28 days,the expression had not returned to base line,and still maintained at a low level.② P2X3 immuno-positive gray scale in DRG:P2X3 immuno-positive gray scale in ipsilateral side L4-6 DRG was 117.74±2.38,129.12± 4.86,133.56±3.79,148.75±6.90 and 150.49±5.15,respectively at 3,7,14,21 and 28 days after sciatic nerve ligation,which was significantly higher than that in the normal group and sham-operated group(105.11±3.52,104.22±5.41,F =78.861,P < 0.05),also significantly higher than that in the contralateral side(105.53±5.85,108.54±3.70,104.07±4.16,106.55±2.02,106.29±5.19,t =3.48-13.95,P < 0.05);There were no significant differences when comparing sham-operated group or contralateral side at each time point with normal group(P > 0.05)CONCLUSION:P2X3 is significantly down regulated in L4-6 DRG after sciatic nerve ligation.It may exert certain effects in neuropathic pain. | Guoxing Zhou Lesi Xie Qiben Wang Qingping Yu Xiaofu Liu Qiumei Liu Wei Peng Zhicheng Zeng | 2007 | Neural Regeneration Research2007,2,4: | 3 |

| 15 | Steering Against Wind: A New Network of NamiRNAs and Enhancers显示文摘Micro RNAs(miRNAs) are a class of endogenous non-coding RNAs with regulatory functions. Traditionally, miRNAs are thought to play a negative regulatory role in the cytoplasm by binding to the 30 UTR of target genes to degrade m RNA or inhibit translation. However, it remains a challenge to interpret the potential function of many miRNAs located in the nucleus.Recently, we reported a new type of miRNAs present in the nucleus, which can activate gene expression by binding to the enhancer, and named them nuclear activating miRNAs(NamiRNAs). The discovery of NamiRNAs showcases a complementary regulatory mechanism of mi RNA, demonstrating their differential roles in the nucleus and cytoplasm. Here, we reviewed miRNAs in nucleus to better understand the function of NamiRNAs in their interactions with the enhancers. | 17 | 睾丸的原发性NK/T细胞淋巴瘤一例报告及文献复习(英文)显示文摘Objective: To study the clinical and pathological features of primary NK/T cell lymphoma of testis and to investi- gate the effective diagnosis and treatment of this disease. Methods: The surgical specimens of a patient with primary NK/T cell lymphoma of the testis were observed by light microscopy, immunohistochemistry and examined by the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) DNA and T-cell receptor (TCR) gene rearrangement, and the literature were reviewed. Results: The patient presented with left-sided painless testicular enlargement and the lymphoma had a propensity to spread to the contralateral testis, spleen, central nervous system, and so on. The neoplastic cells were positive for CD56, CD45R0 and CD3ε, while the expressions of CD20, CD79α, CD5, Bcl-2 and PLAP were negative. In addition, the EBV DNA was detected in the lymphoma by PCR. And the results of gene rearrangement studies for the γ chain of the T-cell receptor were negative. The pathological diagnosis was NK/T cell lymphoma of the left testis. Conclusion: Primary NK/T cell lym- phoma of the testis is a rare entity and progressed rapidly. The histopathological, immunohistochemical, EBV examination and TCR gene rearrangement studies should be carried out as soon as possible in order to get the defined diagnosis. | 18 | Nonalcoholic steatohepatitis critically rewires the ischemia/ reperfusion-induced dysregulation of cardiolipins and sphingolipids in mice显示文摘Background:Lipid dysregulation plays a fundamental role in nonalcoholic steatohepatitis(NASH),which is an emerging critical risk factor that aggravates hepatic ischemia/reperfusion(I/R)injury.However,the specific lipids that mediate the aggressive I/R injury in NASH livers have not yet been identified.Methods:The mouse model of hepatic I/R injury on NASH was established on C56B/6J mice by first feeding the mice with a Western-style diet to induce NASH,then the NASH mice were subjected to surgical procedures to induce hepatic I/R injury.Untargeted lipidomics were performed to determine hepatic lipids in NASH livers with I/R injury through ultra-high performance liquid chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry.The pathology associated with the dysregulated lipids was examined.Results:Lipidomics analyses identified cardiolipins(CL)and sphingolipids(SL),including ceramides(CER),glycosphingolipids,sphingosines,and sphingomyelins,as the most relevant lipid classes that characterized the lipid dysregulation in NASH livers with I/R injury.CER were increased in normal livers with I/R injury,and the I/R-induced increase of CER was further augmented in NASH livers.Metabolic pathway analysis revealed that the enzymes involved in the synthesis and degradation of CER were highly upregulated in NASH livers with I/R injury,including serine palmitoyltransferase 3(Sptlc3),ceramide synthase 2(Cers2),neutral sphingomyelinase 2(Smpd3),and glucosylceramidase beta 2(Gba2)that produced CER,and alkaline ceramidase 2(Acer2),alkaline ceramidase 3(Acer3),sphingosine kinase 1(Sphk1),sphingosine-1-phosphate lyase(Sgpl1),and sphingosine-1-phosphate phosphatase 1(Sgpp1)that catalyzed the degradation of CER.CL were not affected by I/R challenge in normal livers,but CL was dramatically reduced in NASH livers with I/R injury.Consistently,metabolic pathway analyses revealed that the enzymes catalyzing the generation of CL were downregulated in NASH-I/R injury,including cardiolipin synthase(Crls1)and tafazzin(Taz).Notably,the I/R-induced oxidative stress and cell death were found to be aggravated in NASH livers,which were possibly mediated by the reduction of CL and accumulation of CER.Conclusions:The I/R-induced dysregulation of CL and SL were critically rewired by NASH,which might potentially mediate the aggressive I/R injury in NASH livers. | Sheng Yu Kai Wang Qingping Li Yiran Wei Yiyi Li Qifan Zhang Pengxiang Huang Hanbiao Liang Hang Sun Hongxian Peng Xixin Huang Cuiting Liu Jie Zhou Jianping Qian Chuanjiang Li | 2023 | Hepatobiliary Surgery and Nutrition2023,12,1: | 0 |
| 19 | Experimental simulation of gas hydrate decomposition in porous sediment显示文摘Gas hydrate decomposition in sediments involves complicated multiphase flow and heat and mass transfer processes because of heat absorption by solid hydrates. Factors affecting gas hydrate decomposition in sediments include sediment type, mineral composition, pore size distribution, particle size, pore water composition, hydrate saturation distribution, initial formation pressure and temperature and cement characteristics. In this paper, experimental simulations of gas hydrate decomposition are carried out on an artificial core to investigate the effects of initial pressure and temperature, particle size and pore size. The experiments show that the characteristics of gas hydrate decomposition in sediments differ completely from those in a pure water system. The decomposition rate of hydrate sediments increases with the initial pressure increasing and decreasing temperatures.
