1Efficacy of small-volume simethicone given at least 30 min before gastroscopy显示文摘AIM To evaluate the efficacy of 5 m L simethicone solution in decreasing gastric foam if given at least 30 min before gastroscopy.METHODS This was a randomized, placebo controlled, endoscopist blinded study performed at Changi General Hospital. Patients were at least 21 years old, had no prior sur-gical resection of the upper gastrointestinal tract, and scheduled for elective diagnostic gastroscopies. The primary outcome was the total mucosal visibility score(TMVS) which was evaluated using Mc Nally score. The sample size was calculated to be 24 per group(SD 2.4, 80% power, P < 0.05, 2-sample t test). RESULTS Fifty-four patients were randomised to receive either simethicone [1 m L liquid simethicone(100 mg) in 5 m L of water] or placebo(5 m L of water) at least 30 min before their gastroscopy. Six accredited consultants conductedthe gastroscopy, and the interobserver agreement of scoring TMVS was good with a Kappa statistic of 0.73. The simethicone group had significantly better mean TMVS compared to placebo(5.78 ± SD 1.65 vs 8.89 ± SD 1.97, P < 0.001). The improvement was statistically significant for the duodenum and the gastric antrum, angularis, body, and fundus. Percent 51.9 of patients in the simethicone group had a TMVS of 4(no bubbles at all) to 5(only 1 area with minimal bubbles), while in the placebo group 3.7% of patients had TMVS of 4 or 5. The number needed to treat was 2.1 to avoid a TMVS of 6 and more. 2On-machine Precision Preparation and Dressing of Ball-headed Diamond Wheel for the Grinding of Fused Silica显示文摘In the grinding of high quality fused silica parts with complex surface or structure using ball-headed metal bonded diamond wheel with small diameter,the existing dressing methods are not suitable to dress the ball-headed diamond wheel precisely due to that they are either on-line in process dressing which may causes collision problem or without consideration for the effects of the tool setting error and electrode wear.An on-machine precision preparation and dressing method is proposed for ball-headed diamond wheel based on electrical discharge machining.By using this method the cylindrical diamond wheel with small diameter is manufactured to hemispherical-headed form.The obtained ball-headed diamond wheel is dressed after several grinding passes to recover geometrical accuracy and sharpness which is lost due to the wheel wear.A tool setting method based on high precision optical system is presented to reduce the wheel center setting error and dimension error.The effect of electrode tool wear is investigated by electrical dressing experiments,and the electrode tool wear compensation model is established based on the experimental results which show that the value of wear ratio coefficient K' tends to be constant with the increasing of the feed length of electrode and the mean value of K' is 0.156.Grinding experiments of fused silica are carried out on a test bench to evaluate the performance of the preparation and dressing method.The experimental results show that the surface roughness of the finished workpiece is 0.03 μm.The effect of the grinding parameter and dressing frequency on the surface roughness is investigated based on the measurement results of the surface roughness.This research provides an on-machine preparation and dressing method for ball-headed metal bonded diamond wheel used in the grinding of fused silica,which provides a solution to the tool setting method and the effect of electrode tool wear.CHEN Mingjun LI Ziang YU Bo PENG Hui FANG Zhen 2013Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2013,26,5:5

9A Hu sheep genome with the first ovine Y chromosome reveal introgression history after sheep domestication显示文摘The Y chromosome plays key roles in male fertility and reflects the evolutionary history of paternal lineages.Here,we present a de novo genome assembly of the Hu sheep with the first draft assembly of ovine Y chromosome(o MSY),using nanopore sequencing and Hi-C technologies.The o MSY that we generated spans 10.6 Mb from which 775 Y-SNPs were identified by applying a large panel of whole genome sequences from worldwide sheep and wild Iranian mouflons.Three major paternal lineages(HY1a,HY1b and HY2)were defined across domestic sheep,of which HY2 was newly detected.Surprisingly,HY2 forms a monophyletic clade with the Iranian mouflons and is highly divergent from both HY1a and HY1b.Demographic analysis of Y chromosomes,mitochondrial and nuclear genomes confirmed that HY2 and the maternal counterpart of lineage C represented a distinct wild mouflon population in Iran that diverge from the direct ancestor of domestic sheep,the wild mouflons in Southeastern Anatolia.Our results suggest that wild Iranian mouflons had introgressed into domestic sheep and thereby introduced this Iranian mouflon specific lineage carrying HY2 to both East Asian and Africa sheep populations.Ran Li Peng Yang Ming Li Wenwen Fang Xiangpeng Yue Hojjat Asadollahpour Nanaei Shangquan Gan Duo Du Yudong Cai Xuelei Dai Qimeng Yang Chunna Cao Weidong Deng Sangang He Wenrong Li Runlin Ma Mingjun Liu Yu Jiang 2021Science China(Life Sciences)2021,64,7:1
10Anti-infection effects of heparin on SARS-CoV-2 in a diabetic mouse model显示文摘Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARSCo V-2)infection can result in more severe syndromes and poorer outcomes in patients with diabetes and obesity.However,the precise mechanisms responsible for the combined impact of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)and diabetes have not yet been elucidated,and effective treatment options for SARS-Co V-2-infected diabetic patients remain limited.To investigate the disease pathogenesis,K18-h ACE2 transgenic(h ACE2^(Tg))mice with a leptin receptor deficiency(h ACE2-Lepr^(-/-))and high-fat diet(h ACE2-HFD)background were generated.The two mouse models were intranasally infected with a 5×10^(5) median tissue culture infectious dose(TCID_(50))of SARSCo V-2,with serum and lung tissue samples collected at 3days post-infection.The h ACE2-Lepr^(-/-)mice were then administered a combination of low-molecular-weight heparin(LMWH)(1 mg/kg or 5 mg/kg)and insulin via subcutaneous injection prior to intranasal infection with1×10^(4) TCID_(50)of SARS-Co V-2.Daily drug administration continued until the euthanasia of the mice.Analyses of viral RNA loads,histopathological changes in lung tissue,and inflammation factors were conducted.Results demonstrated similar SARS-Co V-2 susceptibility in h ACE2^(Tg)mice under both lean(chow diet)and obese(HFD)conditions.However,compared to the h ACE2-Lepr^(+/+)mice,h ACE2-Lepr^(-/-)mice exhibited more severe lung injury,enhanced expression of inflammatory cytokines and hypoxia-inducible factor-1α(HIF-1α),and increased apoptosis.Moreover,combined LMWH and insulin treatment effectively reduced disease progression and severity,attenuated lung pathological changes,and mitigated inflammatory responses.In conclusion,preexisting diabetes can lead to more severe lung damage upon SARS-Co V-2 infection,and LMWH may be a valuable therapeutic approach for managing COVID-19patients with diabetes.Zhongyun Zhang Ning Zhang Xuancheng Lu Min Zhou Xiaoxiang Yan Weiqiong Gu Jingru Yang Qin Zhang Cheng Zhang Yuhuan Gong Mingjun Jia Xiaoyu Zhang Peng Ning Mei Liu Xiaoyan Li Xiaomeng Shi Wenjun Liu George FGao Guang Ning Jiqiu Wang Yuhai Bi 2023Zoological Research2023,44,6:1

12A numerical study of segmented cooling-stream injection in supersonic film cooling显示文摘The present study proposes a segmented cooling-stream injection structure based on a certain coolant mass flow rate,and numerically investigates the effect of segmented cooling-stream injection on supersonic film cooling.The results indicate that without shock-wave impingement and with helium as the coolant,segmented cooling-stream injection can reduce the mixing between the mainstream and the cooling stream to produce better cooling performance than single injection,especially at larger coolant Mach numbers.However,with nitrogen as the coolant,the cooling effect of the segmented-injection system is very close to that of the single-injection system.Mixing at the impinging region is enhanced significantly when there is an incident shock wave.When the shock wave impinges between the two coolant inlets,segmented cooling-stream injection improves film cooling effectiveness in the midstream and downstream regions more than single injection because only part of the cooling stream undergoes the enhanced mixing effect of the shock wave.The advantage of segmented injection is reduced when the impinging region is behind the second coolant inlet.The further downstream the impinging region,the smaller the associated advantage.Hang NI Mingjun WANG Peixue JIANG Wei PENG Yinhai ZHU 2022Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2022,35,6:1

16The combination of methylenehydrofolate reductase C677T polymorphism screening and gastrointestinal tumor markers detection may be an early screening method for gastrointestinal cancer related to helicobacter pylori infection显示文摘Methyltetrahydrofolate reductase(MTHFR)is a key enzyme in folate metabolism,and its single nucleotide polymorphism(SNP)site C677T may be associated with gastrointestinal cancer.However,the relationship between MTHFR C677T polymorphism and gastrointestinal tumor markers carcinoma embryonic antigen(CEA),carbohydrate antigen 199(CA199)and carbohydrate antigen 724(CA724)in Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori)infection is not specified.This study aims to identify the association between MTHFR C677T polymorphism and gastrointestinal tumor markers(CEA,CA199 and CA724)in H.pylori infection.The relationship between MTHFR C677T polymorphism and gastrointestinal tumor markers in 58 patients with H.pylori infection and 94 non-infected patients was studied.We found that TT genotype was a susceptibility factor of H.pylori infection,which was also associated with increased CEA and CA724 levels.Moreover,there was a negative additive interaction between MTHFR gene C677T polymorphism and CEA levels in H.pylori infection.Meanwhile,there were significant differences in CEA levels between MTHFR C677T polymorphism and H.pylori infection.The presence of T allele led to a decrease in CEA levels when ^(13)C urea breath test(^(13)C-UBT)was positive,while the presence of T allele led to an increase in CEA levels when ^(13)C-UBT was negative.Therefore,we suggest that healthy people should take MTHFR C677T polymorphism screening,combined with ^(13)C-UBT and gastrointestinal tumor markers detection,which can screen out the susceptible population of H.pylori,and help to detect gastrointestinal cancer in the early stage.Xiaoxing Wu Bin Peng Kun Qian Wei Zhang Jiang Min Mingjun Zhang Fanling Zeng Ziwei Wang 2021Genes & Diseases2021,8,6:1
17Semantic segmentation for remote sensing images based on an AD-HRNet model显示文摘Semantic segmentation for remote sensing images faces challenges of unbalanced category weight,rich context causing difficulties of recognition,blurred boundaries of multi-scale objects,and so on.To address these problems,we propose a new model by combining HRNet with attention mechanisms and dilated convolution,denoted as:AD-HRNet for the semantic segmentation of remote sensing images.In the framework of AD-HRNet,we obtained the weight value of each category based on an improved weighted cross-entropy function by introducing the median frequency balance method to solve the issue of class weight imbalance.The Shuffle-CBAM module with channel attention and spatial attention in AD-HRNet framework was applied to extract more global context information of images through slightly increasing the amount of computation.To address the problem of blurred boundaries caused by multi-scale object segmentation and edge segmentation,we developed an MDC-DUC module in AD-HRNet framework to capture the context information of multi-scale objects and the edge information of many irregular objects.Taking Postdam,Vaihingen,and SAMA-VTOL datasets as materials,we verified the performance of AD-HRNet by comparing with eight typical semantic segmentation models.Experimental results shown that AD-HRNet increases the mIoUs to 75.59%and 71.58%based on the Postdam and Vaihingen datasets,respectively.Xue Yang Xiang Fan Mingjun Peng Qingfeng Guan Luliang Tang 2022International Journal of Digital Earth2022,15,1:0

20An integrated and efficient process for borax preparation and magnetite recovery from soda-ash roasted ludwigite ore under CO–CO_(2)–N_(2) atmosphere显示文摘To realize the comprehensive utilization of ludwigite ore,an integrated and efficient route for the boron and iron separation was proposed in this work,which via soda-ash roasting under CO–CO_(2)–N_(2) atmosphere followed by grind-leaching,magnetic separation,and CO_(2) carbonation.The effects of roasting temperature,roasting time,CO/(CO+CO_(2))composition,and Na_(2)CO_(3) dosage on the boron and iron separation indices were primarily investigated.Under the optimized conditions of the roasting temperature of 850℃,roasting time of 60 min,soda ash dosage of 20 wt%,and CO/(CO+CO_(2)) of 10 vol%,92%of boron was leached during wet grinding,and 88.6%of iron was recovered during the magnetic separation and magnetic concentrate with a total iron content of 61.51 wt%.Raman spectra and^(11)B NMR results indicated that boron exists asB(OH)_(4)^(-) in the leachate,from which high-purity borax pentahydrate could be prepared by CO_(2) carbonation.Jinxiang You Jing Wang Mingjun Rao Xin Zhang Jun Luo Zhiwei Peng Guanghui Li 2023International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2023,30,11:0
