| 1 | IPO initial returns in China: Underpricing or overvaluation?显示文摘This paper separates the amount of IPO underpricing(primary market underpricing) and overvaluation(secondary market overvaluation) from the value of an IPO's initial return to evaluate the relative importance of these two factors and their main determinants. Using data on the IPOs of 948 Chinese firms, we find that average initial returns are 66% and that underpricing and overvaluation are between 14–22% and 44–53%, respectively, depending on the method used to assess firms' intrinsic values. In addition, while both the value of the initial return and the extent of overvaluation are significantly negatively related to post-IPO long-run stock performance, overvaluation can predict post-IPO performance better than the value of the initial return. Value uncertainty in IPOs is positively related to both underpricing and overvaluation, and both the underwriter's reputation and the existence of pricing regulation are positively related to underpricing. Investor sentiment has a positive effect on overvaluation but has no effect or a negative effect on underpricing. | 2 | Application of autocorrelation method on ionospheric short--term forecasting in China显示文摘Adopting the autocorrelation method in the ionospheric short-term forecasting, we put for- ward a simple and practical forecasting method― the sectional autocorrelation method, that is, for pre- dictions of one hour to four hours ahead the auto- correlation coefficient of RDF with the “iteration” method is selected, for prediction of more than four hours ahead, the autocorrelation coefficient of f0F2 with the “at once” method is used. The prediction precisions have been quantitatively estimated based on the data from Chongqing and Guangzhou Ionos- onde Stations. It is shown that the method is much improved for the predictions of one hour to four hours ahead. For the predictions of more than four hours ahead the prediction error reaches a saturation value, which is still lower than that of the “median” method. | 4 | A dual-pass data assimilation scheme for estimating surface fluxes with FY3A-VIRR land surface temperature显示文摘In this work, a dual-pass data assimilation scheme is developed to improve predictions of surface flux. Pass 1 of the dual-pass data assimilation scheme optimizes the model vegetation parameters at the weekly temporal scale, and Pass 2 optimizes the soil moisture at the daily temporal scale. Based on ensemble Kalman filter(EnKF), the land surface temperature(LST) data derived from the new generation of Chinese meteorology satellite(FY3A-VIRR) are assimilated into common land model(CoLM) for the first time. Six sites, Daman, Guantao, Arou, BJ, Miyun and Jiyuan, are selected for the data assimilation experiments and include different climatological conditions. The results are compared with those from a dataset generated by a multi-scale surface flux observation system that includes an automatic weather station(AWS), eddy covariance(EC) and large aperture scintillometer(LAS). | 5 | Improvement of Dark Object Method in Atmospheric Correction of hyperspectral remotely sensed data显示文摘The existing methods in atmospheric correction of hyperspectral data usually focus on removing the effects of water vapor and other absorptive gases, while this paper mainly studies the method of re- moving the influence of the aerosol and the water vapor simultaneously. Because the hyperspectral data has a larger number of bands, the conventional dark object method cannot be applied to the at- mospheric correction of the hyperspectral data which can be improved, as described in this paper, by adequately making use of spectral characteristics of the hyperspectral data with an iterative correction during the whole process. The effects of the aerosol and water vapor are eliminated at the same time finally. The improved dark object method is used to do the atomospheric correction of the Hyperion data in Yanzhou, Shandong Province as an example. | 8 | Vitamin D supplementation in pregnant women or infants for preventing allergic diseases:a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials显示文摘Background:It is still unclear if and to what extent antenatal or infant or childhood vitamin D supplementation would affect the development of allergy diseases later in life.This study aimed to review the efficacy of vitamin D supplementation in pregnant women,infants,or children for the prevention of allergies.Methods:MEDLINE(PubMed),EMBASE(OVID),and the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials were searched up to March 1,2020.We included only randomized controlled trials(RCTs).We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis for vitamin D supplementation in primary allergy prevention.These trials were assessed for risk of bias using the Cochrane Collaboration domains and the consensus was reached via discussion with the full study group.We descriptively summarized and quantitatively synthesized original data to evaluate vitamin D supplementation in primary allergy prevention by using Review Manager software for meta-analysis.Results:The search yielded 1251 studies.Seven RCTs were included in this analysis.A meta-analysis revealed that vitamin D supplementation for pregnant women or infants may not decrease the risk of developing allergic diseases,such as asthma or wheezing(supplementation for pregnant women,risk ratio[RR]:1.01,95%confidence interval[CI]:0.81-1.26,P=0.90,I^(2)=47%;supplementation for infants,RR:1.00,95%CI:0.70-1.43,P=0.99,I2=0%;supplementation for pregnant women and infants,RR:0.35,95%CI:0.10-1.25,P=0.11),eczema(supplementation for pregnant women,RR:0.95,95%CI:0.80-1.13,P=0.77,I^(2)=0%;supplementation for infants,RR:0.84,95%CI:0.64-1.11,P=0.19,I2=42%),allergic rhinitis(supplementation for pregnant women,RR:0.93,95%CI:0.78-1.11,P=0.15,I^(2)=47%),lower respiratory tract infection(LRTI)(supplementation for pregnant women,RR:0.97,95%CI:0.85-1.11,P=0.59,I^(2)=0%),or food allergy.Conclusions:Supplementation of vitamin D in pregnant women or infants does not have an effect on the primary prevention of allergic diseases. | Chao Luo Yaning Sun Zuojing Zeng Ying Liu Shunlin Peng | 2022 | Chinese Medical Journal2022,,3: | 3 |
| 9 | Enhanced Adsorption of Pb(II) Ions from Aqueous Solution by Persimmon Tannin-activated Carbon Composites显示文摘The modification of activated carbon with persimmon tannin and its application for the removal of Pb(II) ions were carried out by batch method. The effects of solution pH, contact time, temperature and initial concentration on the immobilization of persimmon tannin were studied. The experimental results showed that the experimental data of persimmon tannin and Pb(II) fitted better by Langmuir adsorption isotherm model and pseudo-second order model. The adsorption capacities of adsorbents for persimmon tannin and Pb(II) were calculated from the Langmuir isotherm model, and found to be 42.97 and 12.40 mg/g at optimum pH, respectively. It was noted that the adsorbent exhibited the best adsorption property for Pb(II) when 1.0 g activated carbon was modified by 17.32 mg persimmon tannin. | 10 | 中国淮安地区2009年至2011年恶性肿瘤的发病率及死亡率分析(英文)显示文摘Objective: The aim of the study was to investigate the cancer incidence and mortality in Huai'an area, China, from 2009 to 2011. Methods: The data about cancer incidence and mortality were provided by Huai'an Cancer Registry, China. In- cidence and mortality rates, and standardized rates were calculated by age, gender, areas (urban and rural areas of Huai'an) and cancer sites. Results: The crude incidence rate for all cancer sites was 205.60/10 5 and the standardized incidence rate was 166.22/10 5 . Both the crude and standardized rates were higher in urban area than in rural area for both sexes. The inci- dence rates increased in people aged 40 and over, and the peak ages of incidence were between 70-75 in both males and females. The crude mortality rate for all cancer sites was 153.88/10 5 and the standardized mortality rate was 122.14/10 5 . Both the crude and standardized rates were similar in urban and rural areas for both men and women. The mortality rates were at low level under the age 50 in both sexes, but increased after the age 50, reaching the peak at the ages of 80-85 in both males and females. The top 10 most common cancer sites in rank were esophagus, stomach, lung, liver, colon-rectum, breast, pancreas, cervix uteri, brain and central nervous system, and leukemia, accounting for 87.56% of all cancers. The top 10 most leading causes of cancer death in order were cancers of esophagus, lung, liver, stomach, colon-rectum, pancreas, brain and central nervous system, leukemia, breast and lymphoma, accounting for 90.53% of all cancer deaths. Conclusion: Cancer is one kind of major diseases threatening people's health in Huai'an area, China.
