| 1 | New strategy for designing orangish-redemitting phosphor via oxygen-vacancyinduced electronic localization显示文摘Phosphor-converted white-light-emitting diodes(pc-WLED)have been extensively employed as solid-state lighting sources,which have a very important role in people’s daily lives.However,due to the scarcity of the red component,it is difficult to realize warm white light efficiently.Hence,red-emitting phosphors are urgently required for improving the illumination quality.In this work,we develop a novel orangish-red La_(4)GeO_(8):Bi^(3+) phosphor,the emission peak of which is located at 600 nm under near-ultraviolet(n-UV)light excitation.The full width at half maximum(fwhm)is 103 nm,the internal quantum efficiency(IQE)exceeds 88%,and the external quantum efficiency(EQE)is 69%.According to Rietveld refinement analysis and density functional theory(DFT)calculations,Bi^(3+) ions randomly occupy all La sites in orthorhombic La_(4)GeO_(8).Importantly,the oxygen-vacancy-induced electronic localization around the Bi3+ions is the main reason for the highly efficient orangish-red luminescence.These results provide a new perspective and insight from the local electron structure for designing inorganic phosphor materials that realize the unique luminescence performance of Bi^(3+) ions. | Yi Wei Gongcheng Xing Kang Liu Guogang Li Peipei Dang Sisi Liang Min Liu Ziyong Cheng Dayong Jin Jun Lin | 2019 | Light(Science & Applications)2019,8,1: | 12 |
| 2 | Prognostic implications of epidermal growth factor receptor variant Ⅲ expression and nuclear translocation in Chinese human gliomas显示文摘Objective: To determine the prognostic implications and clinical significance of epidermal growth factor receptor variant Ⅲ(EGFRvⅢ) expression and EGFRvⅢ nuclear translocation in Chinese human gliomas.Methods: We retrospectively examined EGFRvⅢ expression and EGFRvⅢ nuclear translocation using immunohistochemistry in specimens of 240 Chinese patients with glioma, including 84 World Health Organization(WHO) II gliomas, 84 WHO Ⅲ gliomas and 72 glioblastomas(WHO IV). Factors that correlated with EGFRvⅢ and EGFRvⅢ nuclear translocation expression were analyzed by the Chi-square test. Kaplan-Meier methodology and Cox regression were used for the survival analysis.Results: Log-rank tests showed that patient age, Karnofsky performance scale(KPS) score, tumor grade,EGFRvⅢ expression, EGFRvⅢ nuclear translocation, 1 p/19 q codeletion, isocitrate dehydrogenase(IDH)mutation, Ki-67 labeling index and O6-methylguanine-DNA methyltransferase(MGMT) status(P<0.05) were significantly correlated with overall survival(OS) time. Multivariate Cox regression analysis revealed that patient age, tumor grade, EGFRvⅢ nuclear translocation, 1 p/19 q codeletion, and IDH mutation(P<0.05) were significantly correlated with OS. Patients with a high level of EGFRvⅢ nuclear translocation(≥7%) had both significantly shorter OS [hazard ratio(HR): 1.920, 95% confidence interval(95% CI): 1.228-3.003, P=0.004] and progression-free survival(PFS) times(HR: 1.661, 95% CI: 1.116-2.471, P=0.012) than those with a low level of EGFRvⅢ nuclear translocation(<7%).Conclusions: A high level of EGFRvⅢ nuclear translocation in glioma is an independent factor indicating a poor prognosis, but EGFRvⅢ expression is not an independent clinical prognostic factor. | 3 | Thermally stable and highly efficient red-emitting Eu^(3+)-doped Cs3GdGe309 phosphors for WLEDs:non-concentration quenching and negative thermal expansion显示文摘Red phosphor materials play a key role in improving the lighting and backlit display quality of phosphor-converted white light-emitting diodes(pc-WLEDs).However,the development of a red phosphor with simultaneous high efficiency,excellent thermal stability and high colour purity is still a challenge.In this work,unique non-concentration quenching in solid-solution Cs_(3)Gd_(1-x)Ge_(3)O_(9):xEu^(3+)(CGGO:xEu^(3+))(x=0.1-1.0)phosphors is successfully developed to achieve a highly efficient red-emitting Cs_(3)EuGe_(3)0_(9)(CEGO)phosphor.Under the optimal 464 nm blue light excitation,CEGO shows a strong red emission at 611 nm with a high colour purity of 95.07%and a high internal quantum efficiency of 94%.Impressively,this red-emitting CEGO phosphor exhibits a better thermal stability at higher temperatures(175-250℃,>90%)than typical red K2SiF6:Mn^(4+)and Y203:Eu^(3+)phosphors,and has a remarkable volumetric negative thermal expansion(coefficient of thermal expansion,a=—5.06×10^(-5)/℃,25-250℃).By employing this red CEGO phosphor,a fabricated pc-WLED emits warm white light with colour coordinates(0.364,0.383),a high colour rendering index(CRI=89.7),and a low colour coordinate temperature(CCT=4508 K).These results indicate that this highly efficient red-emitting phosphor has great potential as a red component for pc-WLEDs,opening a new perspective for developing new phosphor materials. | Peipei Dang Guogang Li Xiaohan Yun Qianqian Zhang Dongjie Liu Hongzhou Lian Mengmeng Shang Jun Lin | 2021 | Light(Science & Applications)2021,10,2: | 6 |
| 4 | A novel PDZ domain-containing gene is essential for male sex differentiation and maintenance in yellow catfish(Pelteobagrus fulvidraco)显示文摘The sex-determining genes are found to be variable among different fish species. Yellow catfish(Pelteobagrus fulvidraco) is an important aquaculture fish species in China with XX/XY sex-determining type. Recently, YY super-male yellow catfish has been successfully produced by combining hormonalinduced sex reversal method with sex chromosome-linked markers. Here, we identified a novel PDZ domain-containing gene in yellow catfish designated as pfpdz1, in whose intron the sex-linked marker was located. The coding sequence of pfpdz1 in Y chromosome was identical to that in X chromosome except a missense SNP(A/T) that changes an amino acid(E8V) in the N-terminal region. Pfpdz1 displayed male-specific expression during sex differentiation. Overexpression of pfpdz1 using additive transgenesis induces XX ovary to differentiate into testis-like tissue, while the targeted inactivation of pfpdz1 in Y chromosome using CRISPR/Cas9-mediated mutagenesis triggers ovarian differentiation. Furthermore,we demonstrated that pfpdz1 initiates testicular differentiation through upregulating expression of amh, dmrt1 and sox9a1, as well as downregulating expression of cyp19a1, foxl2 and wnt4. | 6 | Identification of two novel mutations in the GALNT3 gene in a Chinese family with hyperphosphatemic familial tumoral calcinosis显示文摘Hyperphosphatemic familial tumoral calcinosis(HFTC) is a rare, autosomal recessive genetic disease.This disease is characterized by the progressive calcification of soft tissues leading to symptoms of pressure and hyperphosphatemia but normal concentrations of serum calcium with or without an elevation of1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 levels.HFTC is caused by loss-of-function mutations in the GALNT3, FGF23 or KL genes. | 7 | Clinical characteristics and prognostic values of 1p32.3 deletion detected through fluorescence in situ hybridization in patients with newly diagnosed multiple myeloma: a single-center study in China显示文摘This study aimed to investigate the prevalence,clinical characteristics,and prognostic impact of 1p32.3 deletion in patients with newly diagnosed multiple myeloma (MM).A retrospective analysis was conducted on 411 patients with newly diagnosed MM;among which,270 received bortezomib-based therapies,and 141 received thalidomide-based therapies.Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) was performed to detect six cytogenetic abnormalities,namely,del(1p32.3),gain(1q21),del(17p13),del(13q14),t(4;14),and t(11;14).Results showed that 8.3% of patients with MM were detected with del(1p32.3) and had significantly more bone marrow plasma cells (P =0.025),higher β2-microglobulin levels (P =0.036),and higher lactate dehydrogenase levels (P =0.042) than those without del(1p32.3).Univariate analysis showed that patients with del(1p32.3) under thalidomide-based therapies were strongly associated with short progression-free survival (PFS) (median PFS 11.6 vs.31.2 months,P =0.002) and overall survival (OS) (median OS 16.8 vs.45.9 months,P < 0.001).Multivariate analysis revealed that del(1p32.3) remained a powerful independent factor with worse PFS (P =0.006) and OS (P =0.016) for patients under thalidomide-based treatments.Patients with del(1 p32.3) under bortezomib-based treatments tended to have short PFS and OS.In conclusion,del(1p32.3) is associated with short PFS and OS in patients with MM who received thalidomide-or bortezomib-based treatments. | Huanping Wang Haitao Meng Jinghan Wang Yinjun Lou Yile Zhou Peipei Lin Fenglin Li Lin Liu Huan Xu Min Yang Jie Jin | 2020 | Frontiers of Medicine2020,14,3: | 2 |

| 10 | Mapping of wheat stripe rust resistance gene Yr041133 by BSR-Seq analysis显示文摘Puccinia striiformis Westend. f. sp. tritici(Pst) pathotype CYR34 is widely virulent and prevalent in China.Here, we report identification of a strpie rust resistance(Yr) gene, designated Yr041133, in winter wheat line 041133. This line produced a hypersensitive reaction to CYR34 and conferred resistance to 13 other pathotypes. Resistance to CYR34 in line 041133 was controlled by a single dominant gene. Bulked segregant RNA sequencing(BSR-Seq) was performed on a pair of RNA bulks generated by pooling resistant and susceptible recombinant inbred lines. Yr041133 was mapped to a 1.7 c M genetic interval on the chromosome arm 7 BL that corresponded to a 0.8 Mb physical interval(608.9–609.7 Mb) in the Chinese Spring reference genome. | 20 | Origin and chromatin remodeling of young X/Y sex chromosomes in catfish with sexual plasticity显示文摘Assembly of a complete Y chromosome is a significant challenge in animals with an XX/XY sex-determination system.Re cently,we created YY-supermale yellow catfish by crossing XY males with sex-reversed XY females,providing a valuable model for Y-chromosome assembly and evolution.Here,we assembled highly homomorphic Y and X chromosomes by sequencing genomes of the YY supermale and XX female in yellow catfish,reve aling their nucleotide divergences with only less than 1%and with the same gene compositions.The sex-determining region(SDR)was identified to locate within a physical distance of0.3 Mb by FSTscanning.Strikingly,the incipient sex chromosomes were revealed to originate via autosome-autosome fusion and were characterized by a highly rearranged region with an SDR downstream of the fusion site.We found that the Y chromosome was at a very early stage of differentiation,as no clear evidence of evolutionary strata and classical structure features of recombination suppression for a rather late stage of Y-chromosome evolution were observed.Significantly,a number of sex-antagonistic mutations and the accumulation of repetitive elements were discovered in the SDR,which might be the main driver of the initial establishment of recombination suppression between young X and Y chromosomes.Moreover,distinct three-dimensional chromatin organizations of the Y and X chromosomes were identified in the YY supermales and XX females,as the X chromosome exhibited denser chromatin structure than the Y chromosome,while they respectively have significantly spatial interactions with female-and male-related genes compared with other autosomes.The chromatin configuration of the sex chromosomes as well as the nucleus spatial organization of the XX neomale were remodeled after sex reversal and similar to those in YY supermales,and a male-specific loop containing the SDR was found in the open chromatin region.Our results elucidate the origin of young sex chromosomes and the chromatin remodeling configuration in the catfish sexual plasticity. | Gaorui Gong Yang Xiong Shijun Xiao Xi-Yin Li Peipei Huang Qian Liao Qingqing Han Qiaohong Lin Cheng Dan Li Zhou Fan Ren Qi Zhou Jian-Fang Gui Jie Mei | 2023 | National Science Review2023,10,2: | 0 |
