| 1 | Bilateral versus unilateral cryptorchidism in nonobstructive azoospermia:testicular sperm extraction outcomes显示文摘Cryptorchidism is one of the most frequent causes of nonobstructive azoospermia(NOA)in adulthood.Although it is well known that spermatogenesis is more impaired in bilateral than in unilateral cryptorchidism,previous studies have only described small cohorts or inhomogeneous population.Consequently,we analyzed a cohort of 225 men with only a history of cryptorchidism as sole etiopathogenetic factor for NOA,and compared testicular sperm extraction(TESE)outcomes between men with bilateral versus unilateral cryptorchidism.Our results show no difference in follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH)levels and testicular volumes between men with a history of bilateral cryptorchidism compared to unilateral cryptorchidism(median:21.3 IU I^-1 vs 19.3 IU I^-1,P=0.306;and 7.2 ml vs 7.9 ml,P=0.543,respectively).In addition,sperm retrieval rates were similar(66.2%vs 60.0%,P=0.353).Using multivariate analysis,we have found that only a low inhibin B level(above the assay's detection limit)was positively associated with successful sperm retrieval(P<0.05).Regarding intracytoplasmic sperm injection outcomes,we found that cumulative pregnancy rate and live birth rate per cycle were not statistically different between the two groups(17.4%vs 27.8%,P=0.070;and 16.1%vs 26.4%,P=0.067,respectively).Unexpectedly,there was no significant difference in hormonal profiles(FSH,luteinizing hormone[LH],testosterone,and inhibin B levels)and TESE outcomes between unilateral versus bilateral cryptorchidism.This suggests that a history of unilateral cryptorchidism could reflect a bilateral testicular impairment.Interestingly,inhibin B level might be a predictor of successful TESE. | Anne-Laure Barbotin Anais Dauvergne Agathe Dumont Nassima Ramdane Valerie Mitchell Jean-Marc Rigot Florence Boitrelle Geoffroy Robin | 2019 | Asian Journal of Andrology2019，21，5： | 4 |

| 12 | Rapid increase in numbers and change of land-use in two expanding Columbidae species(Columba palumbus and Streptopelia decaocto)in Algeria显示文摘Background: Investigating population ecology of urban bird species,particularly the invasive and expending spe?cies,is the key for the success of urban management and planning strategies.Methods: Populations of two Columbidae species,the Woodpigeon(Columba palumbus) and the Eurasian Collared Dove(Streptopelia decaocto),were monitored from 1992 to 2010 in the Algiers Sahel,the Mitidja Plain and surround?ing areas(Northern Algeria).Monitoring of species densities was performed by the mapping?plot method.The foraging flight routes of Woodpigeon and the distribution of Eurasian Collared Dove were assessed by systematic observations.Results: The number of counted birds was statistically constant at first years of the survey,and then increased sig?nificantly,beginning from low numbers,their densities accelerated sharply between 2001 and 2006,then reached to an equilibrium state.The significant increase in Woodpigeon's population could be explained by the reduced hunt?ing pressure and by species adaptation to new food resources provided by nearby agriculture.Indeed,monitoring of flight directions of the species revealed the use of agricultural landscapes and habitats,which is a good indicator explaining adaptation and trophic niche of the species.The occurrence of the Eurasian Collared Dove in Algiers began in 2000.Its density experienced a rapid increase with similar trend pattern as that of Woodpigeon.Its distributional range is confined mainly in suburban environments of the Mitidja Plain.Conclusion: The modifications of habitats,urbanization increase and the lessening of hunting in the Mitidja Plain facilitated the rapid expansion of the Eurasian Collared Dove and Woodpigeon as well contributed to the increase in their numbers over time. | Djamel Bendjoudi Jean-Francois Voisin Salaheddine Doumandji Amel Merabet Nassima Benyounes Haroun Chenchouni | 2015 | Chinese Birds2015，，4： | 1 |

| 19 | Preparation and Characterization of Fe-Based Metallic Glasses with Pure and Raw Elements显示文摘Amorphous alloys with a composition(at.%)Fe_(48)Cr_(15)Mo_(14)C_(15)B_(6)Y_(2) were prepared by using either pure elements(alloy B1)or a commercial AISI430 steel as a base material(B2).When prepared from pure elements,alloy(B1)could be cast in plate form with a fixed thickness of 2 mm and variable lengths between 10 and 20 mm by means of copper-mold injection in an air atmosphere.In the case of alloy B2,prepared by using commercial grade raw materials,rods of 2 mm diameter are obtained.Ribbons(B1 and B2)of width 5 mm and thickness about 30μm are prepared from the arc-melted ingots using a single roller melt spinner at a wheel speed of 40 m/s.The thermal and structural properties of the samples are measured by a combination of differential scanning calorimetry(DSC),x-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy.Chemical compositions are checked by energy dispersive spectroscopy analysis.X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy observations confirm that an amorphous structure is obtained in all the samples.A minor fraction of crystalline phases(oxides and carbides)is detected on the as-cast surface.Values of hardness and Young modulus were measured by nanoindentation for both the alloys.The effects of adverse casting conditions(such as air atmosphere,non-conventional injection copper mold casting and the partial replacement of pure elements with commercial grade raw materials)on the glass formation and properties of the alloy are discussed. | Nassima Seghairi Badis Bendjemil Gabriel Lavorato Alberto Castellero Marcello Baricco | 2012 | Chinese Physics Letters2012，29，11： | 1 |
