1Indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase: As a potential prognostic marker and immunotherapeutic target for hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘Tumor cells induce an immunosuppressive microen-vironment which leads towards tumor immune escape. Understanding the intricacy of immunomodulation by tumor cells is essential for immunotherapy. Indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase(IDO) is an immunosuppressive enzyme which mediates tumor immune escape in various cancers including hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC). IDO up-regulation in HCC may lead to recruitment of regulatory T-cells into tumor microenvironment and therefore inhibit local immune responses and promote metastasis. HCC associated fibroblasts stimulate natural killer cells dysfunction through prostaglandin E2 and subsequently IDO promotes favorable condition for tumor metastasis. IDO up-regulation induces immuno-suppression and may enhance the risk of hepatitis C virus and hepatitis B virus induced HCC. Therefore, IDO inhibitors as adjuvant therapeutic agents may have clinical implications in HCC. 2Simultaneous removal of Cd(II)and As(III)from co-contaminated aqueous solution byα-FeOOH modified biochar显示文摘A novelα-FeOOH modified wheat straw biochar(α-FeOOH@BC)was developed and the findings of the current study showed thatα-FeOOH@BC is an efficient material for the simultaneous removal of cations(Cd(II))and anions(As(III))from aqueous solutions.The SEM,FTIR,and XRD analysis proved thatα-FeOOH@BC was covered byα-FeOOH.In the single adsorption system,the maximum adsorption capacities ofα-FeOOH@BC for Cd(II)and As(III)were 62.9 and 78.3 mg/g,respectively.In the dual adsorption system,the maximum adsorption capacities ofα-FeOOH@BC for Cd(II)and As(III)dropped to 39.3 and 67.2 mg/g,respectively.The adsorption capacities of Cd(II)and As(III)byα-FeOOH@BC were much higher by BC andα-FeOOH both in single and dual adsorbate system.The adsorption results were well fitted by the Langmuir and pseudo-second-order kinetics models.The Cd(II)and As(III)co-adsorption onα-FeOOH@BC had a competitive effect,and the dominant adsorption mechanisms were co-precipitation and ion exchange.Our study showed thatα-FeOOH@BC could be an effective remediation material for Cd(II)and As(III)co-adsorption from aqueous environment.Sihang Zhu Ting Qu Muhammad Kashif Irshad Jianying Shang 2020Biochar2020,2,1:7

4毛棉苗期抗旱性状的QTL定位显示文摘【目的】通过分析毛棉苗期抗旱相关性状的数量性状位点(Quantitative trait locus,QTL),以期检测稳定的主效QTL,促进栽培品种抗旱性状遗传改良及提高抗旱育种效率。【方法】以四倍体野生种毛棉(Gossypium tomentosum)和陆地棉品种中棉所12(CCRI 12)的种间杂种F2及其F2:3家系为研究材料,用于基因型分型的F2有188个系,用于表型分型的F2:3家系有149个株系。分别在干旱胁迫和正常灌水2个环境下调查表型数据。采用复合区间作图法对F2:3家系苗期相关性状抗旱系数进行QTL定位。【结果】对苗期相关性状抗旱系数的QTL定位分析,共得到16个QTL,其中与株高、叶片数、叶绿素含量、脯氨酸含量、丙二醛含量抗旱系数相关的QTL分别有5个、1个、3个、3个、4个,分布在13条染色体上。来自毛棉的5个加性QTL分别为qSHDC-19-1、qSHDC-19-2、qSLNDC-5-1、qMDADC-24-1、qMDADC-24-2,其加性效应值为0.10~0.22,解释变异9.4%~25.8%。【结论】这些与抗旱相关的QTL有助于棉花抗旱分子标记辅助选择。郑巨云 George Oluoch Khan Muhammad Kashif Riaz 周忠丽 王星星 蔡小彦 李雪源 王春英 王玉红 刘方 王坤波 2017棉花学报2017,29,1:6
5Advances in fungal-assisted phytoremediation of heavy metals:A review显示文摘Trace metals such as manganese(Mn),copper(Cu),zinc(Zn),and iron(Fe)are essential for many biological processes in plant life cycles.However,in excess,they can be toxic and disrupt plant growth processes,which is economically undesirable for crop production.For this reason,processes such as homeostasis and transport control of these trace metals are of constant interest to scientists studying heavily contaminated habitats.Phytoremediation is a promising cleanup technology for soils polluted with heavy metals.However,this technique has some disadvantages,such as the slow growth rate of metal-accumulating plant species,low bioavailability of heavy metals,and long duration of remediation.Microbial-assisted phytoremediation is a promising strategy for hyperaccumulating,detoxifying,or remediating soil contaminants.Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi(AMF)are found in association with almost all plants,contributing to their healthy performance and providing resistance against environmental stresses.They colonize plant roots and extend their hyphae to the rhizosphere region,assisting in mineral nutrient uptake and regulation of heavy metal acquisition.Endophytic fungi exist in every healthy plant tissue and provide enormous services to their host plants,including growth enhancement by nutrient acquisition,detoxification of heavy metals,secondary metabolite regulation,and enhancement of abiotic/biotic stress tolerance.The aim of the present work is to review the recent literature regarding the role of AMF and endophytic fungi in plant heavy metal tolerance in terms of its regulation in highly contaminated conditions.Muhammad KHALID Saeed UR-RAHMAN Danial HASSANI Kashif HAYAT Pei ZHOU Nan HUI 2021Pedosphere2021,31,3:6
6Concomitant-chemoradiotherapy-associated oral lesions in patients with oral squamous-cell carcinoma显示文摘Objective:Oral squamous-cell carcinoma(OSCC)accounts for >90% of oral cancers affecting adults mostly between the fourth to seventh decades of life.The most common OSCC treatment is concomitant chemoradiotherapy(CCRT)having both locoregional and distant control,but CCRT has acute and chronic toxic effects on adjacent normal tissue.This study aimed to determine the side effects of CCRT on the oral mucosa and to characterize the clinicopathology of oral lesions in patients with OSCC.Methods:This descriptive,cross-sectional study was certified by the Ethical Review Committee(UHS/Education/126-12/2728)of the University of Health Sciences,Lahore,Pakistan.OSSC patients(n=81)with various histological subtypes,grades,and stages were recruited,and findings on their oral examination were recorded.These patients received 70,90,and 119 Gy of radiotherapy dosages in combination with the chemotherapy drugs cisplatin and 5-fluorouracil.Data were analyzed using SPSS 20.0.Results:The most common presentation of OSCC was a nonhealing ulcer(63%) involving tongue(55.6%).Clinical findings included mucositis(92.6%)and xerostomia of mild,moderate,and severe degrees in 11.1%,46.9%,and 35.8% cases,respectively.Ulcers(87.7%),palpable lymph nodes(64.2%),limited mouth opening(64.2%)and fistula(40.7%) were also observed.In females,the association of radiotherapy dosage with limited mouth opening,xerostomia,and histological grading was statistically significant(P<0.05).The association of chemotherapy drugs with xerostomia(P=0.003)was also statistically significant.Conclusions:CCRT induced mucositis,xerostomia,and trismus in patients with OSCC.Sadia Minhas Muhammad Kashif Wasif Altaf Nadeem Afzal Abdul Hanan Nagi 2017Cancer Biology & Medicine2017,14,2:6
7Pore Characteristics of the Fine-Grained Tight Reservoirs in the Yabulai Basin, Northwestern China显示文摘This work investigated the pore structure characteristics and reservoir features of the finegrained tight reservoirs in the lower member of the Xinhe Formation(J_2 x_1) in the Xiaohu subsag,Yabulai Basin based on core samples through various techniques. Interbedded silt/fine sandstones and mudstones are developed in the study area. Scanning electron microscopy(SEM) images were used to delineate different types of pores, including primary intergranular pores, secondary intergranular and intragranular pores, organic pores and fractures. The pore types were distinguished by pore size, pore area, location and formation process. The pore radii of the fine-grained rocks range from 1 nm to 1.55μm, mainly concentrated between 5 and 300 nm by low pressure N_2 adsorption and MICP analyses. The pore structure parameters of pore throat size and pore throat sorting coefficient are both positively correlated with porosity, while pore throat sorting coefficient has a negative correlation with permeability. The pore structures of the studied samples are much related to the mineral type and content and grain size, followed by TOC content. In these rocks with relatively low TOC and low maturity, the rigid minerals protect pores with pressure shadow from collapse, and dissolution-related pores contribute a lot to inorganic porosity. In contrast, these rocks with abundant TOC contain a large number of organic pores. The permeability of the fine-grained tight reservoir is mainly dominated by larger pore throats, while a large number of small pores(mostly <0.1 μm) contribute considerably to porosity. 8Optical spin-symmetry breaking for high-efficiency directional helicity-multiplexed metaholograms显示文摘Helicity-multiplexed metasurfaces based on symmetric spin–orbit interactions (SOIs) have practical limits because they cannot provide central-symmetric holographic imaging. Asymmetric SOIs can effectively address such limitations, with several exciting applications in various fields ranging from asymmetric data inscription in communications to dual side displays in smart mobile devices. Low-loss dielectric materials provide an excellent platform for realizing such exotic phenomena efficiently. In this paper, we demonstrate an asymmetric SOI-dependent transmission-type metasurface in the visible domain using hydrogenated amorphous silicon (a-Si:H) nanoresonators. The proposed design approach is equipped with an additional degree of freedom in designing bi-directional helicity-multiplexed metasurfaces by breaking the conventional limit imposed by the symmetric SOI in half employment of metasurfaces for one circular handedness. Two on-axis, distinct wavefronts are produced with high transmission efficiencies, demonstrating the concept of asymmetric wavefront generation in two antiparallel directions. Additionally, the CMOS compatibility of a-Si:H makes it a cost-effective alternative to gallium nitride (GaN) and titanium dioxide (TiO2) for visible light. 9Rice molecular markers and genetic mapping:Current status and prospects显示文摘Dramatic changes in climatic conditions that supplement the biotic and abiotic stresses pose severe threat to the sustainable rice production and have made it a difficult task for rice molecular breeders to enhance production and productivity under these stress factors. The main focus of rice molecular breeders is to understand the fundamentals of molecular pathways involved in complex agronomic traits to increase the yield. The availability of complete rice genome sequence and recent improvements in rice genomics research has made it possible to detect and map accurately a large number of genes by using linkage to DNA markers. Linkage mapping is an effective approach to identify the genetic markers which are co-segregating with target traits within the family. The ideas of genetic diversity, quantitative trait locus(QTL) mapping, and marker-assisted selection(MAS) are evolving into more efficient concepts of linkage disequilibrium(LD) also called association mapping and genomic selection(GS), respectively. The use of cost-effective DNA markers derived from the fine mapped position of the genes for important agronomic traits will provide opportunities for breeders to develop high-yielding, stress-resistant, and better quality rice cultivars. 10Loan growth and bank solvency:evidence from the Pakistani banking sector显示文摘Background:The dramatic loan growth and changes in the Pakistani banking system in mid-2000s have led to significant research attention on borrowers and lenders.This expansion and diversification in financial sector was driven by structural reforms,political stability and significant economic growth.Against this background,this study investigates the loan growth and risk-taking behavior of the banks during the expansionary periods of lending.Method:This study used dynamic two-step system generalized method of moment’s estimation technique,based on data taken from 32 banks in Pakistan over 2006-2014.Result:Loan growth has a significant effect on bank-specific and macroeconomicspecific variables.Loan growth in the previous year raises non-performing loans and decreases the solvency of banks with a time lag of many years.The driving force behind this phenomenon is weak prudential regulation among competitors,the asymmetric information of the borrowers,and,most importantly,that banks underestimate the risk of lending during credit booms.Conclusion:More regulatory measures are required to ensure a strong financial system when the volume of non-performing loan grows significantly.An increase in the capital requirement policy for rapidly growing banks is also needed because the problem of abnormal loan growth cannot be detected at the current time.At the same time,strong supervision is necessary to avoid the adverse consequences of borrower selection.Muhammad Kashif Syed Faizan Iftikhar Khurram Iftikhar 2016Financial Innovation2016,2,1:2
11Week Ahead Electricity Power and Price Forecasting Using Improved DenseNet-121 Method显示文摘In the Smart Grid(SG)residential environment,consumers change their power consumption routine according to the price and incentives announced by the utility,which causes the prices to deviate from the initial pattern.Thereby,electricity demand and price forecasting play a significant role and can help in terms of reliability and sustainability.Due to the massive amount of data,big data analytics for forecasting becomes a hot topic in the SG domain.In this paper,the changing and non-linearity of consumer consumption pattern complex data is taken as input.To minimize the computational cost and complexity of the data,the average of the feature engineering approaches includes:Recursive Feature Eliminator(RFE),Extreme Gradient Boosting(XGboost),Random Forest(RF),and are upgraded to extract the most relevant and significant features.To this end,we have proposed the DensetNet-121 network and Support Vector Machine(SVM)ensemble with Aquila Optimizer(AO)to ensure adaptability and handle the complexity of data in the classification.Further,the AO method helps to tune the parameters of DensNet(121 layers)and SVM,which achieves less training loss,computational time,minimized overfitting problems and more training/test accuracy.Performance evaluation metrics and statistical analysis validate the proposed model results are better than the benchmark schemes.Our proposed method has achieved a minimal value of the Mean Average Percentage Error(MAPE)rate i.e.,8%by DenseNet-AO and 6%by SVM-AO and the maximum accurateness rate of 92%and 95%,respectively.Muhammad Irfan Ali Raza Faisal Althobiani Nasir Ayub Muhammad Idrees Zain Ali Kashif Rizwan Abdullah Saeed Alwadie Saleh Mohammed Ghonaim Hesham Abdushkour Saifur Rahman Omar Alshorman Samar Alqhtani 2022Computers, Materials & Continua2022,,9:2

14Early selection of bread wheat genotypes using morphological and photosynthetic attributes conferring drought tolerance显示文摘Genetic diversity is the base of any genetic improvement breeding program aimed at stress breeding.The variability among breeding materials is of primary importance in the achievements of a good crop production.Herein,105 wheat genotypes were screened against drought stress using factorial completely randomized design at seedling stage to determine the genetic diversity and traits association conferring drought tolerance.Analysis of variances revealed that all the studied parameters differed significantly among all genotypes,indicating the significance genetic variability existed among all genotypes for studied indices.The 10 best performance genotypes G1,G6,G11,G16,G21,G26,G39,G44,G51,and G61 were screened as drought tolerant,while five lowest performance genotypes G3,G77,G91,G98,and G105 were screened as drought susceptible.Root length,chlorophyll a,chlorophyll b,and carotenoid contents were significantly correlated among themselves which exhibited the importance of these indices for rainfed areas in future wheat breeding scheme.Shoot length exhibited non-significant and negative association with other studied traits,and its selection seems not to be a promising criteria for this germplasm for drought stress.Best performance genotypes under drought stress conditions will be useful in future wheat breeding program and early selection will be effective for developing high yielding and drought tolerant wheat varieties.Hafiz Ghulam Muhu-Din Ahmed Abdus Salam khan LI Ming-ju Sultan Habibullah Khan Muhammad Kashif 2019Journal of Integrative Agriculture2019,18,11:2
15地热储层单裂隙岩体渗流传热数值模拟研究显示文摘研究地热储层裂隙岩体中的渗流传热过程对干热岩地热资源的开采具有重要的意义。本文以干热岩地热工程为背景,采用COMSOL Multiphysics数值模拟软件对地热储层单裂隙岩体中渗流传热机理进行了研究,并分析了流体注入速度和温度对岩体温度场的影响及其对干热岩地热工程的影响。研究发现流体参数对岩体温度场的影响主要体现在2个方面:一方面是对岩体温度场受扰动区域以及幅度的影响,另一方面是对岩体温度场达到稳态所需要时间的影响。流体注入速度的提升会降低系统的寿命和寿命期的出口法向总热量值,当考虑出口法向总热通量时,存在最佳流体注入速度,本研究中最佳流体注入速度为0.011 m/s。流体注入温度的提升会增加系统的寿命和系统的出口法向总热通量和总热量。研究为干热岩自热资源的开发与利用提供了理论依据,为工程运行参数的设计提供了参考依据。肖鹏 窦斌 田红 郑君 崔国栋 夏杰勤 Muhammad Kashif 2021钻探工程2021,48,2:2

19Integrated CWT-CNN for Epilepsy Detection Using Multiclass EEG Dataset显示文摘Electroencephalography is a common clinical procedure to record brain signals generated by human activity.EEGs are useful in Brain controlled interfaces and other intelligent Neuroscience applications,but manual analysis of these brainwaves is complicated and time-consuming even for the experts of neuroscience.Various EEG analysis and classification techniques have been proposed to address this problem however,the conventional classification methods require identification and learning of specific EEG characteristics beforehand.Deep learning models can learn features from data without having in depth knowledge of data and prior feature identification.One of the great implementations of deep learning is Convolutional Neural Network(CNN)which has outperformed traditional neural networks in pattern recognition and image classification.Continuous Wavelet Transform(CWT)is an efficient signal analysis technique that presents the magnitude of EEG signals as timerelated Frequency components.Existing deep learning architectures suffer from poor performance when classifying EEG signals in the Time-frequency domain.To improve classification accuracy,we propose an integrated CWT and CNN technique which classifies five types of EEG signals using.We compared the results of proposed integrated CWT and CNN method with existing deep learning models e.g.,GoogleNet,VGG16,AlexNet.Furthermore,the accuracy and loss of the proposed integrated CWT and CNN method have been cross validated using Kfold cross validation.The average accuracy and loss of Kfold cross-validation for proposed integrated CWT and CNN method are,76.12%and 56.02%respectively.This model produces results on a publicly available dataset:Epilepsy dataset by UCI(Machine Learning Repository).Sidra Naseem Kashif Javed Muhammad Jawad Khan Saddaf Rubab Muhammad Attique Khan Yunyoung Nam 2021Computers, Materials & Continua2021,,10:1
20Micromechanical Modeling of Elastic-Viscoplastic Behavior of Armco-Fe at High Strain Rate显示文摘Heterogeneous dynamical stress-strain response of Armco-Fe was investigated at high strain rates through the Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar(SHPB) testing. It was found that the viscoplastic deformation in BCC ferrite grains is affected by the strain rate. Thermal softening and variation in crystal orientations under high-strain-rate loading were used in the elastic-viscoplastic modeling. The micromechanical analysis with self-consistent transition and homogenization was used for estimation of the global impact response of the material.
