2Detailed investigation of optimized alkali catalyzed transesterification of Jatropha oil for biodiesel production显示文摘The non-edible oils are believed to be one of the major feedstock for the production of biodiesel in future.In the present study,we investigated the production of Jatropha oil methyl esters(JOMEs) via alkali-catalyzed transesterification route.The biophysical characteristics of Jatropha oil were found within the optimal range in accordance with ASTM standards as a substitute diesel fuel.The chemical composition and production yield of as-synthesized biodiesel were confirmed by various analytical techniques such as FT-IR,1H NMR,13 C NMR and gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry.A high percentage conversion,~96.09%,of fatty acids into esters was achieved under optimized transesterification conditions with 6 :1 oil to methanol ratio and 0.9 wt% Na OH for 50 min at ~60°C.Moreover,twelve fatty acids methyl esters(FAME) were quantified in the GC/MS analysis and it was interesting to note that the mass fragmentation pattern of saturated,monounsaturated and diunsaturated FAME was comparable with the literature reported values.Waqas Ahmed Muhammad Faizan Nazar Syed Danish Ali Usman Ali Rana Salah Ud-Din Khan 2015Journal of Energy Chemistry2015,24,3:5
3UV Assisted Preliminary DNA Binding Studies and Single-crystal X-ray Structure of 4-{(4-Nitrophenyl-sulfonamido)methyl}cyclohexanecarboxylic Acid显示文摘A new sulfonamide, 4-{(4-nitrophenylsulfonamido)methyl}cyclohexanecarboxylic acid(C14H18N2O6S), has been synthesized by the reaction of tranexamic acid and 4-nitrobenzenesulfonyl chloride in basic medium at room temperature. The molecular structure was determined by FT-IR, NMR, elemental analysis and single-crystal X-ray technique. X-ray diffraction shows that the compound crystallizes in the monoclinic system, space group P21/c with a = 13.5980(7), b = 4.9877(2), c = 23.3878(13) ?, β = 93.254(3)o, Z = 4, V = 1583.67(14) ?3, μ = 0.237 mm-1, F(000) = 720, R = 0.0471 and w R = 0.1182. The molecules are related by inversion and paired into dimers via C–H···O interactions. The dimmers are interlinked due to strong N–H···O bonds, where O-atoms are of sulfonyl groups. The molecules are stabilized in the form of infinite two-dimensional network with base vectors [0 1 0] and [0 0 –1] in the plane(1 0 2). The existence of good intermolecular interactions suggests the biological importance of the synthesized molecule. The compound was screened for its interaction with FS-DNA using UV-visible spectroscopy. UV-visible spectroscopic results depict that the compound interacts with DNA by mixed binding mode intercalation along with hydrogen bonding. 8Interobserver reliability between pediatric radiologists and residents in ultrasound evaluation of intraventricular hemorrhage in premature infants显示文摘BACKGROUND Germinal matrix intraventricular hemorrhage(IVH)may contribute to significant morbidity and mortality in premature infants.Timely identification and grading of IVH affect decision-making and clinical outcomes.There is possibility of misinterpretation of the ultrasound appearances,and the interobserver variability has not been investigated between radiology resident and board-certified radiologist.AIM To assess interobserver reliability between senior radiology residents performing bedside cranial ultrasound during on-call hours and pediatric radiologists.METHODS From June 2018 to June 2020,neonatal cranial ultrasound examinations were performed in neonatal intensive care unit.Ultrasound findings were recorded by the residents performing the ultrasound and the pediatric attending radiologists.RESULTS In total,200 neonates were included in the study,with a mean gestational age of 30.9 wk.Interobserver agreement for higher grade(Grade III&IV)IVH was excellent.There was substantial agreement for lower grade(Grade I&II)IVH.CONCLUSION There is strong agreement between radiology residents and pediatric radiologists,which is higher for high grade IVHs.Muhammad Danish Barakzai Ayimen Khalid Zara Za Sheer Faheemullah Khan Naila Nadeem Noman Khan Kiran Hilal 2022World Journal of Radiology2022,14,11:0
9派特灵外用治疗跖疣的临床疗效显示文摘目的观察派特灵外用治疗跖疣的临床疗效。方法选取2019年1月至2022年12月南方医科大学第三附属医院确诊的跖疣患者150例,采用随机分配的方式,50例患者采取派特灵外敷治疗,50例患者采用CO_(2)激光治疗,50例患者采用液氮冷冻治疗,并分别于治疗结束后4周、12周进行随访,观察3组临床疗效、复发情况。采用χ^(2)检验、F检验。结果派特灵组50例患者年龄(30.25±10.52)岁,其中男性27例、女性23例,皮损单发15例、两处及以上部位35例;CO_(2)激光组50例患者年龄(28.65±11.25)岁,其中男性30例、女性20例,皮损单发20例、两处及以上部位30例;液氮冷冻组50例患者年龄(25.15±9.65)岁;其中男性25例、女性25例,皮损单发20例、两处及以上部位30例。治疗后4周,派特灵组临床有效率为94.0%(47/50),CO_(2)激光组临床有效率为84.0%(42/50),液氮冷冻组临床有效率为80.0%(40/50),3组比较差异有统计学意义(χ^(2)=6.258,P=0.025),CO_(2)激光组与液氮冷冻组差异无统计学意义(χ^(2)=0.619,P=0.532)。治疗后12周,派特灵组临床有效率为88.0%(44/50),CO_(2)激光组临床有效率为78.0%(39/50),液氮冷冻组临床有效率为72.0%(36/50),3组比较差异有统计学意义(χ^(2)=5.893,P=0.031),CO_(2)激光组与液氮冷冻组差异无统计学意义(χ^(2)=2.021,P=0.328)。结论派特灵能有效地治疗跖疣,减少复发率,创伤和不良反应较小,可广泛应用于临床治疗。刘苑玲 陈文艺 吴雪琳 胡燕卿 Yaqoob Muhammad Danish 刘康兴 2024国际医药卫生导报2024,30,6:0
10Analyzing and Enabling the Harmonious Coexistence of Heterogeneous Industrial Wireless Networks显示文摘Nowadays multiple wireless communication systems operate in industrial environments side by side.In such an environment performance of one wireless network can be degraded by the collocated hostile wireless network having higher transmission power or higher carrier sensing threshold.Unlike the previous research works which considered IEEE 802.15.4 for the Industrial Wireless communication systems(iWCS)this paper examines the coexistence of IEEE 802.11 based iWCS used for delay-stringent communication in process automation and gWLAN(general-purpose WLAN)used for non-real time communication.In this paper,we present a Markov chain-based performance model that described the transmission failure of iWCS due to geographical collision with gWLAN.The presented analytic model accurately determines throughput,packet transaction delay,and packet loss probability of iWCS when it is collocated with gWLAN.The results of the Markov model match more than 90%with our simulation results.Furthermore,we proposed an adaptive transmission power control technique for iWCS to overcome the potential interferences caused by the gWLAN transmissions.The simulation results show that the proposed technique significantly improves iWCS performance in terms of throughput,packet transaction,and cycle period reduction.Moreover,it enables the industrial network for the use of delay critical applications in the presence of gWLAN without affecting its performance.Bilal Khan Danish Shehzad Numan Shafi Ga-Young Kim Muhammad Umar Aftab 2022Computers, Materials & Continua2022,,10:0

12Combined Role of ACC Deaminase Producing Bacteria and Biochar on Cereals Productivity under Drought显示文摘Most of the cereal crops are widely cultivated to fulfil the humans food requirements.Under changing climate scenario,the intensity of drought stress is continuously increasing that is adversely affecting the growth and yield of cereal crops.Although the cereals can tolerate moderate drought to some extent,but mostly they are susceptible to severe drought stress.Higher biosynthesis of ethylene under drought stress has been reported.Many scientists observed that inoculation of 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylate(ACC)deaminase producing plant growth promoting rhizobacteria(PGPR)is an efficacious tool to overcome this problem.These PGPR secrete ACC deaminase which cleavage the ACC into the compounds,other than ethylene.Furthermore,secretion of growth hormones also play imperative role in enhancing the growth of the cereals under limited availability of water.In addition,the use of biochar has also been recognized as another effective amendment to grant resistance against drought.Biochar application improves the soil physiochemical attributes i.e.,porosity,nutrients retention and water holding capacity which decrease the loss of water and increase its bioavailability.In recent era,the idea of coapplication of ACC deaminase producing PGPR and biochar is becoming popular which might be more efficient to use water under drought stress.The aim of current review is to combine the facts and understanding of this novel idea to grant maximum resistance to crops against drought stress.Some scientists have observed significant improvement in yield of cereal crops by combined use of ACC deaminase producing PGPR and biochar.However,more research is suggested for deep understanding of complex synergistic mechanism of ACC deaminase activity in combination with biochar.Subhan Danish Muhammad Zafar-ul-Hye 2020Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2020,89,2:0
13Multi-strain Inoculation with PGPR Producing ACC Deaminase is More Effective Than Single-strain Inoculation to Improve Wheat (Triticum aestivum) Growth and Yield显示文摘Rhizosphere bacteria that colonize plant roots and confer beneficial effects are referred as plant growth promoting rhizobacteria(PGPR).Among all PGPR,some rhizobacteria have an ability to produce ACC deaminase enzyme.This enzyme catalyzes stress ACC into a-ketobutyrate and ammonia instead of letting it to be converted to ethylene.Ethylene level rises in plants under stress conditions i.e.,drought,salinity,poor soil fertility etc.As poor soil fertility is a big hurdle to achieve the optimum yield of crops,inoculation of ACC deaminase PGPR can overcome this problem to some extent.The aim of the current study was to examine the influence of multi-strain and single-strain inoculation of different ACC deaminase producing PGPR on wheat growth and yield.There were three PGPR strains,Enterobacter cloacae,Serratia ficaria and Burkholderia phytofirmans which were used as consortia and single-strain inoculations.The results showed that inoculation of E.cloacae+S.ficaria+B.phytofirmans significantly increased plant height(63%),spike length(61%),number of spikelets spike-1(61%),number of grains spike-1(131%),1000 grains weight(33%),grains yield(71%),straw yield(71%)and biological yield(68%)of wheat as compared to control.A significant improvement in N(37 and 200%),P(46 and 166%)and K(39 and 61%)of seeds and shoot respectively,validated the efficacious and more effective role of multi-strain(E.cloacae+S.ficaria+B.phytofirmans)inoculation over control.It is obviously concluded that multi-strain ACC deaminase producing PGPR inoculation is a better approach as compared to single-strain inoculation for the improvement in growth and yield of wheat.Muhammad Zafar-ul-Hye Misbah Batool Zahra Subhan Danish Mazhar Abbas Abdur Rehim Muhammad Naeem Akbar Ayesha Iftikhar Mehreen Gul Ifat Nazir Maria Abid Muhammad Tahzeeb-ul-Hassan Maria Murtaza 2020Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2020,89,2:0
14Burnout amongst radiologists:A bibliometric study from 1993 to 2020显示文摘BACKGROUND Burnout amongst radiologists is common in many different institutions and is increasing day by day.To battle burnout,we have to address the root causes already recognized in published literature.Therefore,it is crucial to examine and discern important publications.AIM To provide evidence-based data and trends related to burnout in radiologists so that researchers can work on it further and develop preventive strategies to overcome this problem.METHODS Bibliometric analysis conducted by two independent reviewers separately used Scopus Library for data extraction by using medical subject heading and International Classification of Diseases keywords.Forty-nine articles were selected for analysis after an extensive scrutiny.Statistical Package for the Social Sciences version 20 was used for analysis.Pearson correlation coefficient,Kruskal Wallis test,and Mann-Whitney U test were applied.RESULTS The most productive period with regards to the number of publications was between 2017 and 2019.A total of 160 authors contributed to the topic burnout among radiologists,with an average of 3.26 authors per paper.About 41.68%of the authors were female,whilst 35%of them were first authors.The co-citation analysis by author involved 188 cited authors,13 of whom were cited at least 70 times.Only six out of forty-nine studies were funded by various government institutions and non-governmental organizations.CONCLUSION Current analysis casts a spotlight on important trends being witnessed in regard to the mental health of radiologists,including lack of funding for mental health research,narrowing of female vs male citation gap,as well as authorship and citation trends.Muhammad Fazal Hussain Qureshi Danish Mohammad Syed Mustafa Ali Shah Mahira Lakhani Muzna Shah Muhammad Hassan Ayub Sara Sadiq 2022World Journal of Psychiatry2022,12,2:0
15Structure Elucidation and Biological Screening of Bis(4-{[(E)-(2-Hydroxybenzylidene)amino]methyl}-cyclohexane-carboxylato-O)-triaqua-cadmium显示文摘Using a bidentate ligand, a Schiff base 4-({[(Z)-(2-hydroxyphenyl)methyldene]amino}methyl)cyclohexanecarboxylic acid, complex I(ML2, where M = Cd(Ⅱ)) was synthesized and characterized by IR spectroscopy and X-ray crystallography. It crystallizes in monoclinic system, space group C2/c, M_r = 685.04, 0.34 mm × 0.26 mm × 0.14 mm, a = 54.050(3), b = 6.1220(3), c = 9.5081(5) ?, β = 90.229(2)°, Z = 4, C_(30) H_(40) CdN_2 O_9 and V = 3146.2(3) ?~3. Complex I was screened for its bactericidal activity against four bacterial strains Chromohalobactersalexigens, Chromohalobacterisraelensis, Halomonashalofila and Halomonassalina and fungicidal activity against Aspergillusnigerand Aspergillusflavus. Antimicrobial activity results showed that the synthesized complex displayed good anti-fungal activity against two fungal strains. 16Depositional Environment and Lithofacies Analyses of Eocene Lacustrine Shale in the Bohai Bay Basin:Insights from Mineralogy and Elemental Geochemistry显示文摘The effect of various depositional parameters including paleoclimate,paleosalinity and provenance,on the depositional mechanism of lacustrine shale is very important in reconstructing the depositional environment.The classification of shale lithofacies and the interpretation of shale depositional environment are key features used in shale oil and gas exploration and development activity.The lower 3rd member of the Eocene Shahejie Formation(Es_(3)^(x)shale)was selected for this study,as one of the main prospective intervals for shale oil exploration and development in the intracratonic Bohai Bay Basin.Mineralogically,it is composed of quartz(avg.9.6%),calcite(avg.58.5%),dolomite(avg.7%),pyrite(avg.3.3%)and clay minerals(avg.20%).An advanced methodology(thin-section petrography,total organic carbon and total organic sulfur contents analysis,X-ray diffraction(XRD),X-ray fluorescence(XRF),field-emission scanning electron microscopy(FE-SEM))was adopted to establish shale lithofacies and to interpret the depositional environment in the lacustrine basin.Six different types of lithofacies were recognized,based on mineral composition,total organic carbon(TOC)content and sedimentary structures.Various inorganic geochemical proxies(Rb/Sr,Ca/(Ca+Fe),Ti/Al,Al/Ca,Al/Ti,Zr/Rb)have been used to interpret and screen variations in depositional environmental parameters during the deposition of the Es_(3)^(x)shale.The experimental results indicate that the environment during the deposition of the Es_(3)^(x)shale was warm and humid with heightened salinities,moderate to limited detrital input,higher paleohydrodynamic settings and strong oxygen deficient(reducing)conditions.A comprehensive depositional model of the lacustrine shale was developed.The interpretations deduced from this research work are expected to not only expand the knowledge of shale lithofacies classification for lacustrine fine-grained rocks,but can also offer a theoretical foundation for lacustrine shale oil exploration and development.Danish KHAN LIANG Chao QIU Longwei Kamran MIRZA WANG Yelei Muhammad KASHIF Saif Ur REHMAN WANG Yuzhe TENG Jianbin 2023Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2023,97,2:0
17Relationships of hospitalization outcomes and timing to endoscopy in non-variceal upper gastrointestinal bleeding:A nationwide analysis显示文摘BACKGROUND The optimal timing of esophagogastroduodenoscopy(EGD)and the impact of clinico-demographic factors on hospitalization outcomes in non-variceal upper gastrointestinal bleeding(NVUGIB)remains an area of active research.AIM To identify independent predictors of outcomes in patients with NVUGIB,with a particular focus on EGD timing,anticoagulation(AC)status,and demographic features.METHODS A retrospective analysis of adult patients with NVUGIB from 2009 to 2014 was performed using validated ICD-9 codes from the National Inpatient Sample database.Patients were stratified by EGD timing relative to hospital admission(≤24 h,24-48 h,48-72 h,and>72 h)and then by AC status(yes/no).The primary outcome was all-cause inpatient mortality.Secondary outcomes included healthcare usage.RESULTS Of the 1082516 patients admitted for NVUGIB,553186(51.1%)underwent EGD.The mean time to EGD was 52.8 h.Early(<24 h from admission)EGD was associated with significantly decreased mortality,less frequent intensive care unit admission,shorter length of hospital stays,lower hospital costs,and an increased likelihood of discharge to home(all with P<0.001).AC status was not associated with mortality among patients who underwent early EGD(aOR 0.88,P=0.193).Male sex(OR 1.30)and Hispanic(OR 1.10)or Asian(aOR 1.38)race were also independent predictors of adverse hospitalization outcomes in NVUGIB.CONCLUSION Based on this large,nationwide study,early EGD in NVUGIB is associated with lower mortality and decreased healthcare usage,irrespective of AC status.These findings may help guide clinical management and would benefit from prospective validation.Simcha Weissman Muhammad Aziz Ayrton I Bangolo Dean Ehrlich Arnold Forlemu Anthony Willie Manesh K Gangwani Danish Waqar Hannah Terefe Amritpal Singh Diego MC Gonzalez Jayadev Sajja Fatma L Emiroglu Nicholas Dinko Ahmed Mohamed Mark A Fallorina David Kosoy Ankita Shenoy Anvit Nanavati Joseph D Feuerstein James H Tabibian 2023World Journal of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy2023,15,4:0

204-((4-Chlorophenylsulfonamido)methyl)cyclohexanecarboxylic Acid: Synthesis, Crystal Structure and Biological Activities显示文摘In this study, a novel 4-((4-chlorophenylsulfonamido)methyl)cyclohexanecarboxylic acid(C_(14)H_(18)ClNO_4S) was synthesized by the reaction of tranexamic acid and 4-chlororbenzene sulfonyl chloride in basic medium at room temperature. The molecular structure was determined by FT-IR, NMR, elemental analysis and single-crystal X-ray analysis. The compound crystallizes in the monoclinic system, space group P21/c with a = 12.3120(11), b = 16.5987(19), c = 7.6873(7) ?, β = 90.495(6)o, Z = 4 and V = 1570.9(3) ?~3, crystal size(mm) = 0.38 × 0.16 × 0.14 and Rint = 0.045. In this compound, the carboxylic acid A(O(1)/C(1)/C(2)) and the sulfonyl B(O(3)/S(1)/O(4)) moieties are of course planar. The molecules are dimerized due to the O–H···O type of H-bonding with the R_2~2(8) ring motifs. The dimmers are interlinked through C–H···O and N–H···O types of H-bonding. The synthesized compound was screened against four bacterial and two fungal strains and inactive against all strains. Antioxidant activity was checked against DPPH.
