2UV Assisted Preliminary DNA Binding Studies and Single-crystal X-ray Structure of 4-{(4-Nitrophenyl-sulfonamido)methyl}cyclohexanecarboxylic Acid显示文摘A new sulfonamide, 4-{(4-nitrophenylsulfonamido)methyl}cyclohexanecarboxylic acid(C14H18N2O6S), has been synthesized by the reaction of tranexamic acid and 4-nitrobenzenesulfonyl chloride in basic medium at room temperature. The molecular structure was determined by FT-IR, NMR, elemental analysis and single-crystal X-ray technique. X-ray diffraction shows that the compound crystallizes in the monoclinic system, space group P21/c with a = 13.5980(7), b = 4.9877(2), c = 23.3878(13) ?, β = 93.254(3)o, Z = 4, V = 1583.67(14) ?3, μ = 0.237 mm-1, F(000) = 720, R = 0.0471 and w R = 0.1182. The molecules are related by inversion and paired into dimers via C–H···O interactions. The dimmers are interlinked due to strong N–H···O bonds, where O-atoms are of sulfonyl groups. The molecules are stabilized in the form of infinite two-dimensional network with base vectors [0 1 0] and [0 0 –1] in the plane(1 0 2). The existence of good intermolecular interactions suggests the biological importance of the synthesized molecule. The compound was screened for its interaction with FS-DNA using UV-visible spectroscopy. UV-visible spectroscopic results depict that the compound interacts with DNA by mixed binding mode intercalation along with hydrogen bonding. 3Entropy squeezing of an atom with a k-photon in the Jaynes-Cummings model显示文摘The entropy squeezing of an atom with a k-photon in the Jaynes-Cummings model is investigated. For comparison, we also study the corresponding variance squeezing and atomic inversion. Analytical results show that entropy squeezing is preferable to variance squeezing for zero atomic inversion. Moreover, for initial conditions of the system the relation between squeezing and photon transition number is also discussed. 4Structural and optical properties of thermally reduced graphene oxide for energy devices显示文摘Natural intercalation of the graphite oxide, obtained as a product of Hummer's method, via ultra-sonication of water dispersed graphite oxide has been carried out to obtain graphene oxide(GO) and thermally reduced graphene oxide(RGO).Here we report the effect of metallic nitrate on the oxidation properties of graphite and then formation of metallic oxide(MO) composites with GO and RGO for the first time. We observed a change in the efficiency of the oxidation process as we replaced the conventionally used sodium nitrate with that of nickel nitrate Ni(NO_3)_2, cadmium nitrate Cd(NO_3)_2,and zinc nitrate Zn(NO_3)_2. The structural properties were investigated by x-ray diffraction and observed the successful formation of composite of MO–GO and MO–RGO(M = Zn, Cd, Ni). We sought to study the effect on the oxidation process through optical characterization via UV-Vis spectroscopy and Fourier Transform Infrared(FTIR) spectroscopy.Moreover, Thermo Gravimetric Analysis(TGA) was carried out to confirm > 90% weight loss in each process thus proving the reliability of the oxidation cycles. We have found that the nature of the oxidation process of graphite powder and its optical and electrochemical characteristics can be tuned by replacing the sodium nitrate(NaNO_3) by other metallic nitrates as Cd(NO_3)_2, Ni(NO_3)_2, and Zn(NO_3)_2. 5桔小实蝇中国与马来西亚种群间杂交:融合性、生物学及检疫挑战(英文)显示文摘桔小实蝇是重要的检疫性害虫,可对水果产业造成巨大经济损失。本研究首先采用微卫星标记比较桔小实蝇不同地理种群间的遗传差异性,然后通过室内种间杂交试验,研究了两个相异地理种群(此前称谓的来自中国的桔小实蝇和来自马来西亚的木瓜实蝇)之间杂交后代在繁殖力、孵化率、发育历期、产卵管长度以及抗逆性等方面的适应性,结果表明桔小实蝇中国和马来西亚种群之间的遗传关系极为相近,不存在生殖隔离,但杂交后代在繁殖力、孵化率、幼虫发育情况、高蛹期抗逆性等方面均显著高于其亲本种群,产卵管长度则介于亲本的马来西亚种群和中国种群之间。上述杂交种的适应性特征分析表明,杂交后代可能具有比亲本更强的传播潜力,因此,本研究结果对于桔小实蝇相异地理种群的检疫防控提出了新的挑战。张灿 Muhammad Z Ahmed 马骏 武目涛 何日荣 梁帆 赵菊鹏 林莉 胡学难 Catharine Mannion Muhammad Ashfaq 2018环境昆虫学报2018,40,3:2
6Excitation of defect modes from the extended photonic band-gap structures of 1D photonic lattices显示文摘This paper stuides numerically the model equation in a one dimensional defective photonic lattice by modifying the potential function to a periodic function. It is found that defect modes (DMs) can be regarded as Bloch modes which are excited from the extended photonic band-gap structure at Bloch wave-numbers with k x = 0. 7Reverse vaccinology assisted designing of multiepitope-based subunit vaccine against SARS-CoV-2显示文摘Background:Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)linked with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)cause severe illness and life-threatening pneumonia in humans.The current COVID-19 pandemic demands an effective vaccine to acquire protection against the infection.Therefore,the present study was aimed to design a multiepitope-based subunit vaccine(MESV)against COVID-19.Methods:Structural proteins(Surface glycoprotein,Envelope protein,and Membrane glycoprotein)of SARS-CoV-2 are responsible for its prime functions.Sequences of proteins were downloaded from GenBank and several immunoinformatics coupled with computational approaches were employed to forecast B-and T-cell epitopes from the SARS-CoV-2 highly antigenic structural proteins to design an effective MESV.Results:Predicted epitopes suggested high antigenicity,conserveness,substantial interactions with the human leukocyte antigen(HLA)binding alleles,and collective global population coverage of 88.40%.Taken together,276 amino acids long MESV was designed by connecting 3 cytotoxic T lymphocytes(CTL),6 helper T lymphocyte(HTL)and 4 B-cell epitopes with suitable adjuvant and linkers.The MESV construct was non-allergenic,stable,and highly antigenic.Molecular docking showed a stable and high binding affinity of MESV with human pathogenic toll-like receptors-3(TLR3).Furthermore,in silico immune simulation revealed significant immunogenic response of MESV.Finally,MEV codons were optimized for its in silico cloning into the Escherichia coli K-12 system,to ensure its increased expression.Conclusion:The MESV developed in this study is capable of generating immune response against COVID-19.Therefore,if designed MESV further investigated experimentally,it would be an effective vaccine candidate against SARS-CoV-2 to control and prevent COVID-19.Muhammad Tahir ul Qamar Farah Shahid Sadia Aslam Usman Ali Ashfaq Sidra Aslam Israr Fatima Muhammad Mazhar Fareed Ali Zohaib Ling-Ling Chen 2020Infectious Diseases of Poverty2020,9,5:2
8Curcumin preconditioning enhances the efficacy of adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells to accelerate healing of burn wounds显示文摘Background:Following recent findings from our group that curcumin preconditioning augments the therapeutic efficacy of adipose-derived stem cells in the healing of diabetic wounds in rats,we aimed to investigate the regenerative effects of curcumin preconditioned adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells(ASCs)for better recovery of acid inflicted burns in this study.Methods:ASCs were preconditioned with 5μM curcumin for 24 hours and assessed for proliferation,migration,paracrine release potential and gene expression comparative to naive ASCs.Subsequently,the healing capacity of curcumin preconditioned ASCs(Cur-ASCs)versus naive ASCs was examined using acidic wounds in rats.For this,acid inflicted burns of 20 mm in diameter were made on the back of male Wistar rats.Then,2×10^(6) cells of Cur-ASCs and naive ASCs were intradermally injected in the wound periphery(n=6)for comparison with an untreated saline control.Post-transplantation,wounds were macroscopically analysed and photographed to evaluate the percentage of wound closure and period of re-epithelization.Healed wound biopsies were excised and used for histological evaluation and expression analysis of wound healing markers at molecular level by quantitative PCR and western blotting.Results:We found that Cur-ASCs exhibited greater proliferation,migration and paracrine potential in vitro.Further,Cur-ASCs showed more effective recovery than naive ASCs as exhibited by gross morphology,faster wound closure and earlier re-epithelialization.Masson’s trichrome and hematoxylin and eosin staining demonstrated the improved architecture of the healing burns,as evidenced by reduced infiltration of inflammatory cells,compact collagen and marked granulation in Cur-ASC treated rats.Corroborating these findings,molecular assessment showed significantly reduced expressions of pro-inflammatory factors(interleukin-1 beta,interleukin-6,tumor necrosis factor alpha)a with striking upsurge of an oxidative marker(superoxide dismutase 1),proangiogenic factors(vascular endothelial growth factor,hepatocyte growth factor,hypoxia-inducible factor-1 alpha)and collagen markers(transforming growth factor beta 1,fibroblast growth factor-2,collagen type 1 alpha 1),verifying that Cur-ASCs modulate the regulation of pro-inflammatory and healing markers at burn sites.Conclusions:Treatment with Cur-ASCs resulted in faster re-epithelization of acid inflicted burns compared to the treatment with naive ASCs.Based on observed findings,we suggest the transplantation of Cur-ASCs is a valuable therapy for the potent clinical management of acidic burns.Maryam Azam Hafiz Ghufran Hira Butt Azra Mehmood Ramla Ashfaq Asad M.Ilyas Muhammad R.Ahmad Sheikh Riazuddin 2021Burns & Trauma2021,9,1:2
9Scenario of dengue infection & its control in Pakistan: An up-date and way forward显示文摘Dengue fever is one of the major health problems in tropical and subtropical areas throughout the world. The causative agent of dengue fever is the dengue virus which is an enveloped single stranded RNA virus belongs to the family Flaviviridae and has five distinct serotypes(DENV-1,DENV-2, DENV-3, DENV-4 and DENV-5). Dengue virus is transmitted to human via bite of Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus mosquitoes. The clinical symptoms of dengue fever ranging from mild to severe form as dengue hemorrhagic fever and dengue shock syndrome. Pakistan is dengue endemic since 1994 but from 2006, Pakistan faced the worst condition regarding dengue in which thousands of people affected by the disease and hundreds of people lost their lives. DENV-2, DENV-3 and DENV-1 are the prevalent serotypes in Pakistan. Common diagnostic techniques are being used in Pakistan such as enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay,polymerase chain reaction and rapid diagnostic tests, while differential diagnosis, limitations of diagnostic methods and poor health care system are the real challenges in dengue diagnosis.Favorable climatic conditions, unplanned urbanization, travelling etc., are major factors responsible for dengue epidemics in Pakistan. 10Dynamic Stability Improvement of Decentralized Wind Farms by Effective Distribution Static Compensator显示文摘Dynamic instability of decentralized wind energy farms is a major issue to deliver continuous green energy to electricity consumers.This instability is caused by variations of voltage and frequency parameters due to intermittencies in wind power.Previously,droop control and inverter-based schemes have been proposed to regulate the voltage by balancing reactive power,while inertial control,digital mapping tech-nique of proportional-integral-differential(PID)controller and efficiency control strategy have been developed to regulate the frequency.In this paper,voltage stability is improved by a new joint strategy of distribution static compensator(DSTATCOM)six-pulse controller based reactive power management among decentralized wind turbines and controlled charging of capacitor bank.The frequency stability is ensured by a joint coordinated utilization of capacitor bank and distributed wind power turbines dispatching through a new DSTATCOM six-pulse controller scheme.In both strategies,power grid is contributed as a backup source with less priority.These new joint strategies for voltage and frequency stabilities will enhance the stable active power delivery to end users.A system test case is developed to verify the proposed joint strategies.The test results of the proposed new schemes are proved to be effective in terms of stability improvement of voltage,frequency and active power generation.Muhammad Naveed Naz Saqif Imtiaz Muhammad Kamran Liaquat Bhatti Waseem Qaiser Awan Muhammad Siddique Ashfaq Riaz 2021Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy2021,9,3:1

12Amplitude-squared squeezing of superposition of coherent states显示文摘This paper discusses the amplitude-squared squeezing for the superposition of two coherent states with their phase differences being separately π/2, 3π/2, and π, as well as for the superposition state of two pseudoclassical states. According to the analysis, it is found that the superposition state of two coherent states with their phase differences π/2 and 3π/2, and the superposition state of two pseudoclassical states both do exhibit the amplitude-squared squeezing. Also, some specific states are found to exhibit even stronger squeezing effects when relative phase of the superposition is equal to the average photon number. 13Deep Learning-Based Hybrid Intelligent Intrusion Detection System显示文摘Machine learning(ML)algorithms are often used to design effective intrusion detection(ID)systems for appropriate mitigation and effective detection of malicious cyber threats at the host and network levels.However,cybersecurity attacks are still increasing.An ID system can play a vital role in detecting such threats.Existing ID systems are unable to detect malicious threats,primarily because they adopt approaches that are based on traditional ML techniques,which are less concerned with the accurate classication and feature selection.Thus,developing an accurate and intelligent ID system is a priority.The main objective of this study was to develop a hybrid intelligent intrusion detection system(HIIDS)to learn crucial features representation efciently and automatically from massive unlabeled raw network trafc data.Many ID datasets are publicly available to the cybersecurity research community.As such,we used a spark MLlib(machine learning library)-based robust classier,such as logistic regression(LR),extreme gradient boosting(XGB)was used for anomaly detection,and a state-of-the-art DL,such as a long short-term memory autoencoder(LSTMAE)for misuse attack was used to develop an efcient and HIIDS to detect and classify unpredictable attacks.Our approach utilized LSTM to detect temporal features and an AE to more efciently detect global features.Therefore,to evaluate the efcacy of our proposed approach,experiments were conducted on a publicly existing dataset,the contemporary real-life ISCX-UNB dataset.The simulation results demonstrate that our proposed spark MLlib and LSTMAE-based HIIDS signicantly outperformed existing ID approaches,achieving a high accuracy rate of up to 97.52%for the ISCX-UNB dataset respectively 10-fold crossvalidation test.It is quite promising to use our proposed HIIDS in real-world circumstances on a large-scale.Muhammad Ashfaq Khan Yangwoo Kim 2021Computers, Materials & Continua2021,,7:1

18Influence of absorber doping in a-SiC:H/a-Si:H/a-SiGe:H solar cells显示文摘This work deals with the design evaluation and influence of absorber doping for a-Si:H/a-SiC:H/a-SiGe: H based thin-film solar cells using a two-dimensional computer aided design(TCAD) tool.Various physical parameters of the layered structure,such as doping and thickness of the absorber layer,have been studied.For reliable device simulation with realistic predictability,the device performance is evaluated by implementing necessary models(e.g.,surface recombinations,thermionic field emission tunneling model for carrier transport at the heterojunction,Schokley-Read Hall recombination model,Auger recombination model,bandgap narrowing effects, doping and temperature dependent mobility model and using Fermi-Dirac statistics).A single absorber with a graded design gives an efficiency of 10.1%for 800 nm thick multiband absorption.Similarly,a tandem design shows an efficiency of 10.4%with a total absorber of thickness of 800 nm at a bandgap of 1.75 eV and 1.0 eV for the top a-Si and bottom a-SiGe component cells.A moderate n-doping in the absorber helps to improve the efficiency while p doping in the absorber degrades efficiency due to a decrease in the VOC(and fill factor) of the device.Muhammad Nawaz Ashfaq Ahmad 2012Journal of Semiconductors2012,33,4:0

20Properties of Linear Entropy in k-Photon Jaynes-Cummings Model with Stark Shift and Kerr-Like Medium显示文摘The time evolution of the linear entropy of an atom in k-photon Jaynes-Cummings model is investigatedtaking into consideration Stark shift and Kerr-like medium. The effect of both the Stark shift and Kerr-like medium onthe linear entropy is analyzed using a numerical technique for the field initially in coherent state and in even coherentstate. The results show that the presence of the Kerr-like medium and Stark shift has an important effect on theproperties of the entropy and entanglement.
