| 5 | A Summary and Evaluation of Current Evidence for Myocardial Infarction with Chinese Medicine显示文摘Objective: To provide evidence-based recommendations for clinical application and provoke thoughts for future researchers by conducting a comprehensive summary and evaluation of the current evidence profile for the role of Chinese medicine(CM) in treating myocardial infarction(MI). Methods: Online databases including Pub Med, EMBase, Cochrane Library, Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI), Chinese Biomedical Medicine(CBM), VIP Journal Integration Platform, and Wanfang database were systematically searched for literatures on CM in treating MI. After screening, studies were categorized into 5 types, i.e. systematic review(SR), randomized controlled trial(RCT), observational study, case report and basic research. General information was abstracted, and the quality levels of these studies and their conclusions were summarized and assessed. Results: A total of 452 studies including 10 SRs, 123 RCTs, 47 observational studies, 28 case reports, and 244 basic researches were selected. Clinical studies centered primarily on herbal decoction and mostly were not rigorously performed. High-quality studies were predominantly on Chinese patent medicines(CPMs) such as Danshen Injection(丹参注射液), Shenmai Injection(参麦注射液), Shengmai Injection(生脉注射液) and Qishen Yiqi Dripping Pills(芪参益气滴丸). The most frequently observed pattern of drug combination was decoction plus injection. Results of SRs and clinical studies showed that CM may reduce mortality, decrease risk of complication, reduce myocardial injury, improve cardiac function and inhibit ventricular remodeling. Findings from basic researches also supported the positive role of CM in reducing infarct size and myocardial injury, promoting angiogenesis, preventing ventricular remodeling and improving cardiac function. According to the current evidence body, CM has proven effects in the prevention and treatment of MI. It is also found that the effects of CPMs vary with indications. For instance, Shenmai Injection has been found to be especially effective for reducing the incidence of acute clinical events, while CPMs with qi-nourishing and bloodcirculating properties have been proven to be effective in inhibiting ventricular remodeling. High quality evidence supports the use of CM injection for acute MI and CPM for secondary prevention. Reports on adverse events and other safety outcomes associated with CM for MI are scarce. Conclusions: Sufficient evidence supported the use of CM as an adjuvant to Western medicine for preventing and treating MI. The choice of drug use varies with disease stage and treatment objective. | 9 | Ultrasound features of extranodal extension in the metastatic cervical lymph nodes of papillary thyroid cancer:a case-control study显示文摘Objective:Extranodal extension in cervical lymph nodes is an important risk factor for the progression and prognosis of papillary thyroid cancer.The purpose of this study was to identify the common and characteristic preoperative ultrasonography features that are associated with the pathologic extranodal extension of metastatic papillary thyroid carcinoma.Methods:We retrospectively assessed and compared clinicopathologic and ultrasound features between 60 papillary thyroid cancer patients with extranodal extension and 120 control patients with papillary thyroid cancer without extranodal extension.Results:With respect to the pathological N stage and clinicopathologic features,N1b stage papillary thyroid carcinomas were more frequently found in patients who were extranodal extension-positive,in comparison with those who were extranodal extension-negative(78.3%vs.63.3%,P=0.043).Extranodal extension was detected most frequently in level VI cervical lymph nodes(48.7%).In our univariate analysis of patients with papillary thyroid carcinoma,cervical lymph nodes with extranodal extension showed higher incidences of node matting,microcalcification,cystic area,aspect ratio<2,and larger diameter than those without extranodal extension(all P<0.05).Our multivariate analysis demonstrated that node matting and cystic area were independent risk factors for the presence of extranodal extension[odds ratio(OR):4.751,95%confidence interval(CI):1.212~18.626,P=0.025;OR:2.707,95%CI:1.127~6.502,P=0.026].Conclusions:Common ultrasound features may indicate the presence of extranodal extension in patients with metastatic cervical lymph nodes of papillary thyroid carcinoma. | Jiali Mu Xiaofeng Liang Fangxuan Li Juntian Liu Sheng Zhang Jing Tian | 2018 | Cancer Biology & Medicine2018,15,2: | 7 |
| 10 | High-Temperature Metamorphism, Anataxis and Tectonic Evolution of a Mafic Granulite from the Eastern Himalayan Orogen显示文摘The Himalayan Orogen, resulting from the Tertiary collision of Indian and Asian continents, is a natural laboratory for studying metamorphism, partial melting and granite formation of collisional orogens. However, metamorphic and anatectic conditions and timescales of meta-mafic rocks in the Greater Himalayan Sequences(GHS) in the east-central Himalaya remain controversial. In this paper, we conduct a study of petrology and geochronology of mafic granulite from the Eastern Himalayan Syntaxis(EHS). The mafic granulite with abundant leucosome bands occurs as layers within felsic granulites and is well deformed. The granulite consists of garnet, plagioclase, amphibole and quartz with minor clinopyroxene, orthopyroxene, biotite, rutile, titanite and ilmenite. The garnet has growth compositional zoning and contains abundant mineral inclusions in its core. Peak metamorphic mineral assemblage of the granulite is garnet, amphibole, plagioclase, quartz, clinopyroxene and rutile, recording a high-pressure(HP) and high-temperature(HT) peak-metamorphism under conditions of 14–15.5 kbar and 780–790℃ in the presence of melt. The reconstructed clockwise P-T path is characterized by an early heating and burial prograde metamorphism, and late isothermal and cooling decompression retrogression. The granulite witnessed a long lasting HT metamorphism, partial melting and melt crystallization process which began at ca. 39 Ma and lasted to ca. 11 Ma. The present study shows that various high-grade rocks of the GHS in the EHS core experienced similar metamorphic conditions and P-T-t paths, indicating that they occurred as a coherent slab during the subduction and exhumation of Indian lithosphere. | 12 | Co-Estimation of State of Charge and Capacity for Lithium-Ion Batteries with Multi-Stage Model Fusion Method显示文摘Lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)have emerged as the preferred energy storage systems for various types of electric transports,including electric vehicles,electric boats,electric trains,and electric airplanes.The energy management of LIBs in electric transports for all-climate and long-life operation requires the accurate estimation of state of charge(SOC)and capacity in real-time.This study proposes a multistage model fusion algorithm to co-estimate SOC and capacity.Firstly,based on the assumption of a normal distribution,the mean and variance of the residual error from the model at different ageing levels are used to calculate the weight for the establishment of a fusion model with stable parameters.Secondly,a differential error gain with forward-looking ability is introduced into a proportional–integral observer(PIO)to accelerate convergence speed.Thirdly,a fusion algorithm is developed by combining a multistage model and proportional–integral–differential observer(PIDO)to co-estimate SOC and capacity under a complex application environment.Fourthly,the convergence and anti-noise performance of the fusion algorithm are discussed.Finally,the hardware-in-the-loop platform is set up to verify the performance of the fusion algorithm.The validation results of different aged LIBs over a wide range of temperature show that the presented fusion algorithm can realize a high-accuracy estimation of SOC and capacity with the relative errors within 2%and 3.3%,respectively. | Rui Xiong Ju Wang Weixiang Shen Jinpeng Tian Hao Mu | 2021 | Engineering2021,7,10: | 5 |
| 13 | Delayed xenon post-conditioning mitigates spinal cord ischemia/reperfusion injury in rabbits by regulating microglial activation and inflammatory factors显示文摘The neuroprotective effect against spinal cord ischemia/reperfusion injury in rats exerted by delayed xenon post-conditioning is stronger than that produced by immediate xenon post-conditioning. However, the mechanisms underlying this process remain unclear. Activated microglia are the main inflammatory cell type in the nervous system. The release of pro-inflammatory factors following microglial activation can lead to spinal cord damage, and inhibition of microglial activation can relieve spinal cord ischemia/reperfusion injury. To investigate how xenon regulates microglial activation and the release of inflammatory factors, a rabbit model of spinal cord ischemia/reperfusion injury was induced by balloon occlusion of the infrarenal aorta. After establishment of the model, two interventions were given:(1) immediate xenon post-conditioning—after reperfusion, inhalation of 50% xenon for 1 hour, 50% N_2/50%O_2 for 2 hours;(2) delayed xenon post-conditioning—after reperfusion, inhalation of 50% N_2/50%O_2 for 2 hours, 50% xenon for 1 hour. At 4, 8, 24, 48 and 72 hours after reperfusion, hindlimb locomotor function was scored using the Jacobs locomotor scale. At 72 hours after reperfusion, interleukin 6 and interleukin 10 levels in the spinal cord of each group were measured using western blot assays. Iba1 levels were determined using immunohistochemistry and a western blot assay. The number of normal neurons at the injury site was quantified using hematoxylin-eosin staining. At 72 hours after reperfusion, delayed xenon post-conditioning remarkably enhanced hindlimb motor function, increased the number of normal neurons at the injury site, decreased Iba1 levels, and inhibited interleukin-6 and interleukin-10 levels in the spinal cord. Immediate xenon post-conditioning did not noticeably affect the above-mentioned indexes. | 14 | Impact of dicyandiamide on emissions of nitrous oxide,nitric oxide and ammonia from agricultural field in the North China Plain显示文摘Nitrous oxide(N_2O), nitric oxide(NO) and ammonia(NH_3) emissions from an agricultural field in the North China Plain were compared for three treatments during a whole maize growing period from 26 June to 11 October, 2012. Compared with the control treatment(without fertilization, designated as CK), remarkable pulse emissions of N_2O, NO and NH_3 were observed from the normal fertilization treatment(designated as NP) just after fertilization, whereas only N_2O and NH_3 pulse emissions were evident from the nitrification inhibitor treatment(designated as ND). The reduction proportions of N_2O and NO emissions from the ND treatment compared to those from the NP treatment during the whole maize growing period were 31% and 100%, respectively. | 15 | Estimating global prevalence,incidence,and outcomes of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease from 2000 to 2021:systematic review and meta-analysis显示文摘Background:The increasing burden of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)worldwide imposes an emerging public health issue.We perform the current study to estimate the global prevalence,incidence,disease progression,and clinical outcomes of NAFLD.Methods:A systematic search was conducted in Medline,Embase,Web of Science,Google Scholar,and Cochrane CENTRAL that screened articles in English language published from January 2000 to December 2021.NAFLD prevalence,incidence,rate of disease progression,and outcomes were calculated with the DerSimonian-Laird random effects model with arcsine transformation.Results:Our search identified 59,156 records,of which 578 studies fulfilled our inclusion criteria.The overall prevalence of NAFLD was 29.38%(95%confidence interval[CI]28.09-30.69)regardless of the diagnostic techniques.Looking at the group in which the diagnosis was made by ultrasound exclusively,the pooled prevalence was 30.49%(95%CI 29.55-31.43).NAFLD has become more prevalent during the year 2011-2021(31.63%,95%CI 30.23-33.04)compared with year 2000-2010(27.94%,95%CI 26.23-29.69).The pooled estimation of non-alcoholic steatohepatitis prevalence was 8.26%(95%CI 1.13-21.01),46.49%(95%CI 35.93-57.20),and 46.72%(95%CI 37.57-55.98)in general population,NAFLD patients,and severe/morbidly obese patients,respectively.Based on a total of 110,142 newly developed NAFLD patients,the pooled incident rate was estimated as 46.24 cases per 1000 person-years(95%CI 43.21-49.30).In patients with NAFLD,the incident rate of hepatocellular carcinoma was 1.46(95%CI 0.90-2.03)cases per 1000 person-years.The overall pooled estimate of NAFLD related mortality was 23.91(95%CI 13.55-37.18)death per 1000 person-years.Conclusions:The prevalence of NAFLD is increasing globally.It is contributing to poor clinical outcomes including hepatocellular carcinoma and death.Rising awareness and urgent actions are warranted to control the NAFLD pandemic across the globe.Registration:PROSPERO,No.CRD42020171104. | Jiaye Liu Ye Tian Xia Fu Chunyang Mu Menglin Yao Yinyun Ni Yong Liu Zhihui Li | 2022 | Chinese Medical Journal2022,,14: | 4 |

| 17 | Genetic analysis of fertility restoring genes for AL-type male sterility in wheat显示文摘In order to screen molecular markers linked to fertility restoring genes and further improve the breeding efficiency of restorer lines,in this study,wheat varieties 18A,18B and 99AR144-1 were used as experimental materials to establish F2 fertility-segregating population. Plant quantitative trait'major gene + polygene mixed model'separation analysis method and simple sequence repeat(SSR) molecular markers were adopted for genetic analysis of four generations,including the parents(P1 and P2),and hybrid(Fl and F2) populations. The results show that AL-type fertility restoring gene is controlled by two pairs of additive-dominant-epistatic genes and additive-dominant polygene;two primers linked to fertility restoring genes were selected by SSR molecular markers, including Xgwm95 on chromosome 2A and Barc61 on chromosome 1B,with the linkage distance of 15.0 cM and 18.0 cM,respectively.
