| 1 | Adiponectin deficiency enhances colorectal carcinogenesis and liver tumor formation induced by azoxymethane in mice显示文摘AIM:To investigate the causal relationship between hypoadiponectinemia and colorectal carcinogenesis in in vivo experimental model,and to determine the con-tribution of adiponectin defi ciency to colorectal cancer development and proliferation.METHODS:We examined the influence of adiponectin defi ciency on colorectal carcinogenesis induced by the administration of azoxymethane(AOM)(7.5 mg/kg,in-traperitoneal injection once a week for 8 wk),by using adiponectin-knockout(KO) mice.RESULTS:At 53 wk after the fi rst AOM treatment,KOmice developed larger and histologically more progres-sive colorectal tumors with greater frequency com-pared with wild-type(WT) mice,although the tumor incidence was not different between WT and KO mice.KO mice showed increased cell proliferation of colorec-tal tumor cells,which correlated with the expression levels of cyclooxygenase-2(COX-2) in the colorectal tumors.In addition,KO mice showed higher incidence and frequency of liver tumors after AOM treatment.Thirteen percent of WT mice developed liver tumors,and these WT mice had only a single tumor.In contrast,50% of KO mice developed liver tumors,and 58% of these KO mice had multiple tumors.CONCLUSION:Adiponectin deficiency enhances colorectal carcinogenesis and liver tumor formation induced by AOM in mice.This study strongly suggests that hypoadiponectinemia could be involved in the pathogenesis for colorectal cancer and liver tumor in human subjects. | Tamao Nishihara Miyako Baba Morihiro Matsuda Masahiro Inoue Yasuko Nishizawa Atsunori Fukuhara Hiroshi Araki Shinji Kihara Tohru Funahashi Shinji Tamura Norio Hayashi Hiroyasu Iishi Iichiro Shimomura | 2008 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2008，14，42： | 12 |
| 2 | Identification of Naturally Occurring Polyamines as Root-Knot Nematode Attractants显示文摘Root-knot nematodes(RKNs;genus Meloidogyne)are a class of plant parasites that infect the roots of many plant species.It is believed that RKNs target certain signaling molecules derived from plants to locate their hosts;however,currently,no plant compound has been unambiguously identified as a universal RKN attractant.To address this question,we screened a chemical library of synthetic compounds for Meloidogyne incognita attractants.The breakdown product of aminopropylam ino-anthraquinone,1,3-diam inopropane,as well as its related compounds,putrescine and cadaverine,were found to attract M.incognita.After exam ining various polyamines,M.incognita were found to be attracted specifically by natural com pounds that possess three to five methylene groups between two terminal amino groups.Using cryo-TO F-SIM S/SEM,cadaverine was indeed detected in soybean root cortex cells and the surrounding rhizosphere,establishing a chemical gradient.In addition to cadaverine,putrescine and 1,3-diam inopropane were also detected in root exudate by HPLC-MS/MS.Furtherm ore,exogenously applied cadaverine is sufficient to enhance M.incognita infection of Arabidopsis seedlings.These results suggest that M.incognita is likely attracted by polyam ines to locate the appropriate host plants,and the naturally occurring polyamines have potential applications in agriculture in developing protection strategies for crops from RKN infection. | Morihiro Oota Allen Yi-Lun Tsai Dan Aoki Yasuyuki Matsushita Syuuto Toyoda Kazuhiko Fukushima Kentaro Saeki Kei Toda Laetitia Perfus-Barbeoch Bruno Favery Hayato Ishikawa Shinichiro Sawa | 2020 | Molecular Plant2020，13，4： | 4 |

| 11 | Patient blinding with blunt tip placebo acupuncture needles:comparison between 1 mm and 2 mm skin press显示文摘Objective: To investigate the influence of the depth of skin press in blunt tip placebo acupuncture needles on patient blinding and its relationship to needle diameter.Methods: Forty healthy volunteers were enrolled as subjects for patient blinding. Four acupuncturists applied the following needles randomly at three points in each forearm: 0.18 mm and 0.25 mm diameter penetrating needles inserted to a depth of 5 mm, and 0.18 mm and 0.25 mm diameter skin-touch needles depressing the skin at the acupoint to a depth of 1 mm and 2 mm from the skin surface. The subjects reported their guesses at the nature of needles they received, and rated needle pain and de qi. A blinding index was calculated to define the success of blinding for subjects.Results: The blinding status of subjects for 1 mm press needles of 0.18 mm diameter was ‘‘random guess',but ‘‘unblinded' for 1 mm press needles of 0.25 mm diameter. For 2 mm press needles of both diameters,the blinding status was ‘‘opposite guess' and the blinding status for penetrating needles of both diameters was ‘‘unblinded.' The percentages of ‘‘felt pain' with 2 mm press needles of both diameters were similar to that with penetrating needles, but those were not similar for 1 mm press needles. The frequency of de qi occurrence with 2 mm press needles of 0.18 mm diameter was similar to that of penetrating needles of both diameters.Conclusion: Placebo needles of 2 mm press made more subjects guess that the needles penetrated the skin than 1 mm press needles.
