| 1 | 安徽某铁矿不同矿山废水库中微生物群落结构特征显示文摘【目的】研究安徽某铁矿不同矿山废水库中微生物群落结构特征及其影响因素。【方法】对比分析了该铁矿3个大型废水库的地球化学特征,并用高通量测序技术研究了水体中微生物群落组成,进而用统计学方法解析了环境因子对微生物群落结构的影响。【结果】3个废水库中有2个为酸性,1个为中性,理化性质有明显的差异。近年形成的塌方采场废水库(TF) pH仅为2.55±0.01,Fe浓度高达154.95±0.78mg/L,SO42–浓度为3374.86±3.81mg/L;形成于20世纪70年代的排土场废水库(PT)酸性略弱(pH 2.9±0.02),Fe浓度(34.57±4.00 mg/L)与TF相比明显降低,SO42–浓度则高达10398.98±626.70 mg/L;东沙采场废水库(DS)则为中性(pH7.55),但SO42–仍高达4162.99mg/L,主要的金属离子为Mg(594.90 mg/L)、Ca (650.10 mg/L)。3个废水库的原核生物多样性随pH的升高而升高。两个酸性废水库的原核生物组成较为接近,但TF的化能自养菌含量较高(69.54%±2.89%),PT的化能异养菌含量较高(64.45%±13.81%)。自养铁氧化菌Ferrovum在TF中的比例高达(64.17±1.84)%,在PT中则下降为(35.39±13.74)%。但PT中含有丰富的化能异养嗜酸菌如Acidicapsa(15.75%±3.99%)、Acidiphilium(10.65%±2.05%)、Acidisphaera (6.34%±1.02%)等。DS中虽然也含有较高的金属离子和SO42–,但其中的原核生物组成与TF和PT截然不同,主要为Limnohabitans (18.47%)、Rhodobacter (8.42%)等。3个废水库的真核生物群落主要由藻类组成,酸水库TF和PT中主要为棕鞭藻属(Ochromonas)和胶球藻属(Coccomyxa),棕鞭藻属在TF中(53.65%±2.02%)占优势,胶球藻属在PT中(68.84±10.4%)占优势,中性废水库DS中则主要是小环藻属(Cyclotella)(49.85%)。经统计学分析,pH是影响矿山废水微生物多样性和群落组成的主要环境因素。 | 曹子敏 Joseph Frazer Banda 裴理鑫 卫朋飞 辛瑞瑞 董慧渊 郝春博 | 2019 | 微生物学报2019,59,6: | 16 |
| 2 | Systematic review and meta-analysis of esophageal cancer in Africa:Epidemiology, risk factors, management and outcomes显示文摘BACKGROUND Esophageal cancer(EC)is associated with a poor prognosis,particularly so in Africa where an alarmingly high mortality to incidence ratio prevails for this disease.AIM To provide further understanding of EC in the context of the unique cultural and genetic diversity,and socio-economic challenges faced on the African continent.METHODS We performed a systematic review of studies from Africa to obtain data on epidemiology,risk factors,management and outcomes of EC.A non-systematic review was used to obtain incidence data from the International Agency for Research on Cancer,and the Cancer in Sub-Saharan reports.We searched EMBASE,PubMed,Web of Science,and Cochrane Central from inception to March 2019 and reviewed the list of articles retrieved.Random effects metaanalyses were used to assess heterogeneity between studies and to obtain odds ratio(OR)of the associations between EC and risk factors;and incidence rate ratios for EC between sexes with their respective 95%confidence intervals(CI).RESULTS The incidence of EC is higher in males than females,except in North Africa where it is similar for both sexes.The highest age-standardized rate is from Malawi(30.3 and 19.4 cases/year/100000 population for males and females,respectively)followed by Kenya(28.7 cases/year/100000 population for both sexes).The incidence of EC rises sharply after the age of 40 years and reaches a peak at 75 years old.Meta-analysis shows a strong association with tobacco(OR 3.15,95%CI:2.83-3.50).There was significant heterogeneity between studies on alcohol consumption(OR 2.28,95%CI:1.94-2.65)and on low socioeconomic status(OR 139,95%CI:1.25-1.54)as risk factors,but these could also contribute to increasing the incidence of EC.The best treatment outcomes were with esophagectomy with survival rates of 76.6%at 3 years,and chemo-radiotherapy with an overall combined survival time of 267.50 d.CONCLUSION Africa has high incidence and mortality rates of EC,with preventable and nonmodifiable risk factors.Men in this setting are at increased risk due to their higher prevalence of tobacco and alcohol consumption.Management requires a multidisciplinary approach,and survival is significantly improved in the setting of esophagectomy and chemoradiation therapy. | Akwi W Asombang Nathaniel Chishinga Alick Nkhoma Jackson Chipaila Bright Nsokolo Martha Manda-Mapalo Joao Filipe G Montiero Lewis Banda Kulwinder S Dua | 2019 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2019,25,31: | 9 |
| 3 | Ferroptosis in viral infection:the unexplored possibility显示文摘Virus-induced cell death has long been thought of as a double-edged sword in the inhibition or exacerbation of viral infections.The vital role of iron,an essential element for various enzymes in the maintenance of cellular physiology and efficient viral replication,places it at the crossroads and makes it a micronutrient of competition between the viruses and the host.Viruses can interrupt iron uptake and the antioxidant response system,while others can utilize iron transporter proteins as receptors.Interestingly,the unavailability of iron facilitates certain viral infections and causes cell death characterized by lipid peroxide accumulation and malfunction of the antioxidant system.In this review,we discuss how iron uptake,regulation and metabolism,including the redistribution of iron in the host defense system during viral infection,can induce ferroptosis.Fenton reactions,a central characteristic of ferroptosis,are caused by the increased iron content in the cell.Therefore,viral infections that increase cellular iron content or intestinal iron absorption are likely to cause ferroptosis.In addition,we discuss the hijacking of the iron regulatoy pathway and the antioxidant response,both of which are typical in viral infections.Understanding the potential signaling mechanisms of ferroptosis in viral infections will aid in the development of new therapeutic agents. | Mao-peng Wang Banda Joshua Ning-yi Jin Shou-wen Du Chang Li | 2022 | Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2022,43,8: | 5 |
| 4 | Esophageal squamous cell cancer in a highly endemic region显示文摘AIM: To identify risk factors associated with esophageal cancer in Zambia and association between dietary intake and urinary 8-iso prostaglandin F2α(8-iso PGF2α).METHODS: We conducted a prospective, case control study at the University Teaching Hospital. Subjects included both individuals admitted to the hospital and those presenting for an outpatient upper endoscopy. Esophageal cancer cases were compared to age and sex-matched controls. Cases were defined as patients with biopsy proven esophageal cancer; controls were defined as subjects without endoscopic evidence ofesophageal cancer. Clinical and dietary data were collected using a standard questionnaire, developed a priori. Blood was collected for human immunodeficiency virus(HIV) serology. Urine was collected, and 8-iso PGF2α was measured primarily by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and expressed as a ratio to creatinine.RESULTS: Forty five controls(mean age 54.2 ± 15.3, 31 male) and 27 cases(mean age 54.6 ± 16.4, 17 males) were studied. Body mass index was lower in cases(median 16.8) than controls(median 23.2), P = 0.01. Histopathologically, 25/27(93%) were squamous cell carcinoma and 2/27(7%) adenocarcinoma. More cases smoked cigarettes(OR = 11.24, 95%CI: 1.37-92.4, P = 0.02) but alcohol consumption and HIV seropositivity did not differ significantly(P = 0.14 for both). Fruit, vegetables and fish consumption did not differ significantly between groups(P = 0.11, 0.12, and 0.10, respectively).
