1Recent Progress in Dual-Polarization Radar Research and Applications in China显示文摘Dual-polarization(dual-pol)radar can measure additional parameters that provide more microphysical information of precipitation systems than those provided by conventional Doppler radar.The dual-pol parameters have been successfully utilized to investigate precipitation microphysics and improve radar quantitative precipitation estimation(QPE).The recent progress in dual-pol radar research and applications in China is summarized in four aspects.Firstly,the characteristics of several representative dual-pol radars are reviewed.Various approaches have been developed for radar data quality control,including calibration,attenuation correction,calculation of specific differential phase shift,and identification and removal of non-meteorological echoes.Using dual-pol radar measurements,the microphysical characteristics derived from raindrop size distribution retrieval,hydrometeor classification,and QPE is better understood in China.The limited number of studies in China that have sought to use dual-pol radar data to validate the microphysical parameterization and initialization of numerical models and assimilate dual-pol data into numerical models are summarized.The challenges of applying dual-pol data in numerical models and emerging technologies that may make significant impacts on the field of radar meteorology are discussed.Kun ZHAO Hao HUANG Mingjun WANG Wen-Chau LEE Gang CHEN Long WEN Jing WEN Guifu ZHANG Ming XUE Zhengwei YANG Liping LIU Chong WU Zhiqun HU Sheng CHEN 2019Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2019,36,9:12

7Material Removal Characteristics of Single-Crystal 4H-SiC Based on Varied-Load Nanoscratch Tests显示文摘Single-crystal silicon carbide(SiC)has been widely applied in the military and civil fields because of its excellent physical and chemical properties.However,as is typical in hard-to-machine materials,the good mechanical properties result in surface defects and subsurface damage during precision or ultraprecision machining.In this study,single-and double-varied-load nanoscratch tests were systematically performed on single-crystal 4H-SiC using a nanoindenter system with a Berkovich indenter.The material removal characteristics and cracks under different planes,indenter directions,normal loading rates,and scratch intervals were analyzed using SEM,FIB,and a 3D profilometer,and the mechanisms of material removal and crack propagation were studied.The results showed that the Si-plane of the single-crystal 4H-SiC and edge forward indenter direction are most suitable for material removal and machining.The normal loading rate had little effect on the scratch depth,but a lower loading rate increased the ductile region and critical depth of transition.Additionally,the crack interaction and fluctuation of the depth-distance curves of the second scratch weakened with an increase in the scratch interval,the status of scratches and chips changed,and the comprehensive effects of the propagation and interaction of the three cracks resulted in material fractures and chip accumulation.The calculated and experimental values of the median crack depth also showed good consistency and relativity.Therefore,this study provides an important reference for the high-efficiency and precision machining of single-crystal SiC to ensure high accuracy and a long service life.Kun Tang Wangping Ou Cong Mao Jie Liang Moke Zhang Mingjun Zhang Yongle Hu 2023Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2023,36,4:1
8Plasma biomarkers and plaque strain predict long-term cardiovascular events in patients with acute coronary syndrome显示文摘To test whether circulating and intracoronary biomarkers and coronary plaque strain have additive values to Global Registry of Acute Coronary Events(GRACE) score for predicting long-term cardiovascular events in ACS patients. One hundred ACS patients were enrolled and the GRACE score and plasma levels and intracoronary gradients of a number of biomarkers were measured. Coronary plaque burden and morphology in non-critical stenotic plaques were determined by intravascular ultrasound(IVUS) technique, and the maximal shear strain(SSmax) and maximal area strain(ASmax) were determined by intravascular ultrasound elastography(IVUSE) technique. Patients were followed for cardiovascular events and the predictive values of clinical characteristics, plasma biomarkers and plaque parameters were compared with GRACE score, and the incremental values of these measurements to the GRACE score were assessed. GRACE score, plasma biomarkers and plaque strain were independent predictors of cardiovascular events. Combination of GRACE score, plasma biomarkers and plaque strains significantly improved the predictive value of the GRACE score alone with the receiver-operating characteristic area increased from0.457 to 0.667(P=0.014). 14Prediction of Grinding Force by an Electroplated Grinding Wheel with Orderly-Micro-Grooves显示文摘The ability to predict a grinding force is important to control,monitor,and optimize the grinding process.Few theoretical models were developed to predict grinding forces when a structured wheel was used in a grinding process.This paper aimed to establish a single-grit cutting force model to predict the ploughing,friction and cutting forces in a grinding process.It took into the consideration of actual topography of the grinding wheel,and a theoretical grinding force model for grinding hardened AISI 52100 by the wheel with orderly-micro-grooves was proposed.The model was innovative in the sense that it represented the random thickness of undeformed chips by a probabilistic expression,and it reflected the microstructure characteristics of the structured wheel explicitly.Note that the microstructure depended on the randomness of the protruding heights and distribution density of the grits over the wheel.The proposed force prediction model was validated by surface grinding experiments,and the results showed(1)a good agreement of the predicted and measured forces and(2)a good agreement of the changes of the grinding forces along with the changes of grinding parameters in the prediction model and experiments.This research proposed a theoretical grinding force model of an electroplated grinding wheel with orderly-micro-grooves which is accurate,reliable and effective in predicting grinding forces.Cong Mao Jiali Wang Mingjun Zhang Xincheng Wang Yuanqiang Luo Weidong Tang Kun Tang Zhuming Bi Yongle Hu Zhenheng Lin 2023Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2023,36,4:0

19Effect of laser-discrete-quenching on bonding properties of electroplated grinding wheel with AISI 1045 steel substrate and nickel bond显示文摘To improve the bonding strength between the nickel bond and the hub of the electroplated diamond grinding wheel,a hybrid technique was proposed to combine laser prequenching steel substrate and post-electroplating nickel.To validate the effectiveness of the proposed technique,AISI 1045 substrate was nickel-coated.The bonding properties between the electroplated nickel coating and substrate with or without laser-discrete-quenching were discussed comparatively by scratch,indentation,and thermal shock tests.The results show that the prequenching treatment leads to phase transformation of AISI 1045 microstructure from the mixed pearlite and ferrite phases into the martensitic phase.Since the martensitic phase is characterized as a high corrosion resistance,the interface of substrate/coating is smooth and flat in the prequenched zone,and the coating is bonded well with the steel substrate.In contrast to the steel substrate without pre-quenching treatment,the proposed technique significantly enhanced the bonding strengths of the electroplated nickel-coating.On one hand,the average hardness of electroplated nickel-coating on the laser pre-quenched zone is increased by 18.7%,and the scratch depth with the same load become narrower and shallower.On the other hand,the coefficient of friction(CoF)and the vibration amplitude are reduced,and the coating is bonded effectively with the substrate to inhibit the crack initialization at the interface.This prevents effectively the coating from peeling off and improves significantly the thermal shock resistance property.Cong MAO Peihao CAI Yongle HU Yujie ZHONG Jishuang WEI Zhuming BI Yifeng JIANG Linfeng XIAO Mingjun ZHANG 2021Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2021,34,6:0
