| 1 | A case study of spatial heterogeneity of soil moisture in the Loess Plateau,western China:A geostatistical approach显示文摘Soil moisture distribution shows highly variation both spatially and temporally. This study assesses the spatial heterogeneity of soil moisture on a hill-slope scale in the Loess Plateau in West China by using a geostatistical approach. Soil moisture was measured by time-domain reflectometry(TDR) in 313 samples. Two kinds of sampling scales were used(2 x 2 m and 20 x 20 m) at two soil layers(0-30 cm and 30-60 cm). The general characteristics of soil moisture were analyzed by a classical statistics method,and the spatial heterogeneity of soil moisture was analyzed using a geostatistical approach. The results showed that the spherical model is the best-fit model to simulate soil moisture on the experimental hill-slope. The parameters of this model indicated that the spatial dependence of soil moisture in the selected hill-slope was moderate. Even the 2 x 2 m sampling scale was too coarse to show the detailed spatial variances of soil moisture in this area. The dependent distance increased from 27.4 m to 494.16 m as the sampling scale became coarse(from 2 x 2 m to 20 x 20 m). A map of soil moisture was generated by using original soil moisture data and interpolated values determined by the Kriging method. The average soil moisture(area weighted) in the different layers of soil was calculated on the basis of this map(10.94% for the 0-30 cm soil layer,11.88% for the 30-60 cm soil layer). | 2 | Chemoselective hydrogenolysis of tetrahydrofurfuryl alcohol to 1,5-pentanediol over Ir-MoO_x/SiO_2 catalyst显示文摘In this work, MoOx promoted Ir/SiO2 catalysts were prepared and used for the selective hydrogenolysis of tetrahydrofurfuryl alcohol(THFA)to 1,5-pentanediol in a continuous flow reactor. The effects of different noble metals(Ir, Pt, Pd, Ru, Rh), supports and Ir contents were screened.Among the investigated catalysts, 4 wt%Ir-MoOx/SiO2 with a Mo/Ir atomic ratio of 0.13 exhibited the best catalytic performance. The synergy between Ir particles and the partially reduced isolated MoOx species attached on them is essential for the excellent catalytic performance of Ir-MoOx/SiO2. The catalyst exhibited a better hydrogenolysis efficiency of THFA with the selectivity of 1,5-pentanediol of 65%–74% at a conversion of THFA of 70%–75% when the initial THFA concentration is ranging from 20 wt% and 40 wt%. And higher system pressure was also in favor of the conversion of THFA. | 3 | Facile microwave-assisted ionic liquid synthesis of sphere-like BiOBr hollow and porous nanostructures with enhanced photocatalytic performance显示文摘In this work, two kinds of self-assembled hierarchical BiOBr microcrystals were rapidly synthesized through a simple microwave-assisted route in the presence of reactable ionic liquid 1-hexadecyl-3-methylimidazolium bromide([C_(16)mim]Br). These porous and hollow BiOBr microspheres were obtained via a facile solvothermal method with or without polyvinyl pyrrolidone(PVP), respectively. During the synthetic process, ionic liquid [C_(16)mim]Br played as solvent, reactant and template at the same time. Moreover, the BiOBr hollow and porous microspheres exhibited outstanding photocatalytic activities for the degradation of rhodamine B(RhB) under visible light irradiation. A possible photocatalytic mechanism was also discussed in detail. | 4 | Expression Analysis of Genes Related to Auxin Metabolism at Different Growth Stages of Pak Choi显示文摘Pak choi is a low-temperature vernalized plant that readily undergoes premature bolting during spring, but little is known about the governing molecular regulation of vernalization. In order to enhance our understanding of mechanism about premature bolting, we discussed the relationship between auxin(indole-3-acetic acid, IAA) and flowering of pak choi. During vernalization, hormone metabolism is an important regulatory pathway, and IAA plays a specific role. IAA metabolism has been studied in Arabidopsis thaliana and other plants, but not in pak choi. In this paper, the IAA content in pak choi shoot apices during vernalization and different growth stages was compared. The IAA content decreased significantly after low-temperature treatment(4 °C) and then increased rapidly during vegetative growth. During floral bud initiation,the IAA content decreased rapidly and was the lowest. Expressions of genes encoding key IAA metabolic enzymes were analyzed, and a major synthetase-encoding gene was downregulated, while a key degrading enzyme-encoding gene was upregulated during each comparison period,resulting in decreased IAA content. Expressions of four genes(Bra034975, Bra030246, Bra012239 and Bra040296) were consistent with changes in the IAA content. | 6 | Comparison of the interface reaction behaviors of CaO–V_(2)O_(5) and MnO_(2)–V_(2)O_(5) solid-state systems based on the diffusion couple method显示文摘The formation mechanism of calcium vanadate and manganese vanadate and the difference between calcium and manganese in the reaction with vanadium are basic issues in the calcification roasting and manganese roasting process with vanadium slag.In this work,CaO–V_(2)O_(5) and MnO_(2)–V_(2)O_(5) diffusion couples were prepared and roasted for different time periods to illustrate and compare the diffusion reaction mechanisms.Then,the changes in the diffusion product and diffusion coefficient were investigated and calculated based on scanning electron microscopy (SEM) with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) analysis.Results show that with the extension of the roasting time,the diffusion reaction gradually proceeds among the CaO–V_(2)O_(5) and MnO_(2)–V_(2)O_(5) diffusion couples.The regional boundaries of calcium and vanadium are easily identifiable for the CaO–V_(2)O_(5) diffusion couple.Meanwhile,for the MnO_(2)–V_(2)O_(5) diffusion couple,MnO_(2) gradually decomposes to form Mn_(2)O_(3),and vanadium diffuses into the interior of Mn_(2)O_(3).Only a part of vanadium combines with manganese to form the diffusion production layer.CaV_(2)O_(6) and MnV_(2)O_(6) are the interfacial reaction products of the CaO–V_(2)O_(5) and MnO_(2)–V_(2)O_(5) diffusion couples,respectively,whose thicknesses are 39.85 and 32.13μm when roasted for 16 h.After 16 h,both diffusion couples reach the reaction equilibrium due to the limitation of diffusion.The diffusion coefficient of the CaO–V_(2)O_(5) diffusion couple is higher than that of the MnO_(2)–V_(2)O_(5) diffusion couple for the same roasting time,and the diffusion reaction between vanadium and calcium is easier than that between vanadium and manganese. | Jing Wen Hongyan Sun Tao Jiang Bojian Chen Fangfang Li Mengxia Liu | 2023 | International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2023,30,5: | 2 |
| 7 | In-Situ Synthesis of CQDs/BiOBr Material via Mechanical Ball Milling with Enhanced Photocatalytic Performances显示文摘Designing simple, efficient, and environmentally friendly methods to construct high-efficient photocatalysts is an important strategy to promote the further development of the field of photocatalysis. Herein, flower-like carbon quantum dots(CQDs)/Bi OBr composite photocatalysts have been prepared via in-situ synthesis by mechanical ball milling in the existence of ionic liquid. The CQDs/Bi OBr composites exhibit higher photo-degradation performance for tetracycline(TC) than Bi OBr monomer and the commercial Bi_(2)O_(3) under visible light irradiation. For comparison, the different Br sources and synthetic methods are chosen to prepare Bi OBr and CQDs/Bi OBr composites. Photocatalysts prepared by ball milling and ionic liquid present significantly enhanced photocatalytic performance for removing TC. In addition, the introduction of CQDs could distinctly enhance the photocatalytic performances of pure Bi OBr. The reason is that CQDs as electron acceptor effectively separate electrons and holes and inhibit their recombination. The intermediates during photocatalytic degradation were tested using liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry(LC-MS) and possible degradation pathways were given. During degradation, ·OH, O_(2)^(·-)and h^(+) were identified to be the main active species based on electron spin resonance(ESR) spectra and free radical trapping experiments. | 9 | Coronavirus disease 2019 epidemic prediction in Shanghai under the “dynamic zero-COVID policy”using time-dependent SEAIQR model显示文摘It’s urgently needed to assess the COVID-19 epidemic under the“dynamic zero-COVID policy”in China,which provides a scientific basis for evaluating the effectiveness of this strategy in COVID-19 control.Here,we developed a time-dependent susceptible-exposed-asymptomatic-infected-quarantined-remov ed(SEAIQR)model with stage-specific interventions based on recent Shanghai epidemic data,considering a large number of asymptomatic infectious,the changing parameters,and control procedures.The data collected from March 1st,2022 to April 15th,2022 were used to fit the model,and the data of subsequent 7 days and 14 days were used to evaluate the model performance of forecasting.We then calculated the effective regeneration number(Rt)and analyzed the sensitivity of different measures scenarios.Asymptomatic infectious accounts for the vast majority of the outbreaks in Shanghai,and Pudong is the district with the most positive cases.The peak of newly confirmed cases and newly asymptomatic infectious predicted by the SEAIQR model would appear on April 13th,2022,with 1963 and 28,502 cases,respectively,and zero community transmission may be achieved in early to mid-May.The prediction errors for newly confirmed cases were considered to be reasonable,and newly asymptomatic infectious were considered to be good between April 16th to 22nd and reasonable between April 16th to 29th.The final ranges of cumulative confirmed cases and cumulative asymptomatic infectious predicted in this round of the epidemic were 26,477~47,749 and 402,254~730,176,respectively.At the beginning of the outbreak,Rt was 6.69.Since the implementation of comprehensive control,Rt showed a gradual downward trend,dropping to below 1.0 on April 15th,2022.With the early implementation of control measures and the improvement of quarantine rate,recovery rate,and immunity threshold,the peak number of infections will continue to decrease,whereas the earlier the control is implemented,the earlier the turning point of the epidemic will arrive.The proposed time-dependent SEAIQR dynamic model fits and forecasts the epidemic well,which can provide a reference for decision making of the“dynamic zero-COVID policy”. | Yifei Ma Shujun Xu Qi An Mengxia Qin Sitian Li Kangkang Lu Jiantao Li Lijian Lei Lu He Hongmei Yu Jun Xie | 2022 | Journal of Biosafety and Biosecurity2022,4,2: | 1 |
| 10 | Diagnostic value of diffusion-weighted MRI for imaging synovitis in pediatric patients with inflammatory conditions of the knee joint显示文摘Background Diffusion-weighted imaging(DWI)of synovitis has been suggested as a possible non-invasive alternative to contrast-enhanced T1w imaging(ce-T1w).We aimed to study DWI for diagnosing synovitis in the knee joint of pediatric patients,to quantify inter-observer agreement on DWI and ce-T1w and to calculate quantitative measures of synovial diffusivity and conspicuity.Methods Forty consecutive patients with known or suspected arthritis of the knee(25 girls,median age 12 years)underwent routine 1.5T MRI with ce-T1w and transverse DWI with b values 50 and 800 s/mm2.Mean apparent diffusion coefficient(ADC)values and signal intensity of inflamed synovium,joint effusion and muscle were measured with regions of interest retrospectively.Post-contrast T1 w images(diagnostic standard)and diffusion-weighted images at b=800 s/mm2 with ADC map were separately rated by three independent and blinded readers with different levels of expertise for the presence and degree of synovitis along with the level of diagnostic confidence.Results Thirty-one(78%)patients showed at least some synovial contrast enhancement,17(43%)children were diagnosed with synovitis on ce-T1w.Ratings by the 1st reader on ce-T1w and on DWI for synovitis showed very good agreement(kappa=0.90).Inter-observer agreement on DWI ranged from moderate to substantial with kappa values between 0.68 and 0.79(all P<0.001).Agreement and diagnostic confidence were generally lower in patients with mild and without synovial enhancement,compared to patients with synovitis.DWI yielded higher signal of inflamed synovium vs.muscle tissue,but lower signal vs.joint effusion,compared to ce-T1 w(all P<0.001).Conclusions Diffusion-weighted imaging is a promising,though reader-dependent alternative to contrast-enhanced imaging in patients with arthritis of the knee,based on our preliminary findings.It holds potential for increasing patient safety and comfort. | Mengxia Li Alexander Sauer Annette Holl-Wieden Thomas Pabst Henning Neubauer | 2020 | World Journal of Pediatrics2020,16,1: | 1 |

| 12 | On the rapid intensification for Typhoon Meranti(2016):convection,warm core,and heating budget显示文摘Through a cloud-resolving simulation of the rapid intensification(RI)of Typhoon Meranti(2016),the convections,warm core,and heating budget are investigated during the process of RI.By investigating the spatial distributions and temporal evolutions of both convectivestratiform precipitation and shallow-deep convections,we find that the inner-core convections take mode turns,from stratiform-precipitation(SP)dominance to convectiveprecipitation(CP)prevalence during the transition stages between pre-RI and RI.For the CP,it experiences fewer convections before RI,and the conversion from moderate/moderate-deep convections to moderate-deep/deep convections during RI.There is a clear upper-level warm-core structure during the process of RI.However,the mid-lowlevel warming begins first,before the RI of Meranti.By calculating the local potential temperature(0)budget of various convections,the link between convections and the warm core(and further to RI via the pressure drop due to the warming core)is established.Also,the transport pathways of heating toward the center of Meranti driven by pressure are illuminated.The total hydrostatic pressure decline is determined by the mid-low-level warm anomaly before RI,mostly caused by SP.The azimuthal-mean diabatic heating is the largest heating source,the mean vertical heat advection controls the vertical downwards transport by adiabatic warming of compensating downdrafts above eye region,and then the radial 6 advection term radially transports heat toward the center of Meranti in a slantwise direction.Accompanying the onset of RI,the heating efficiency of the upper-level warming core rises swiftly and overruns that of the mid-low-level warmanomaly, dominating the total pressure decrease and beingmainly led by moderate-deep and deep convections. | 14 | Two Inhibitors Against the 3C-Like Proteases of Swine Coronavirus and Feline Coronavirus显示文摘Coronaviruses(CoVs)are important human and animal pathogens that cause respiratory and gastrointestinal diseases.Porcine epidemic diarrhoea(PED),characterized by severe diarrhoea and vomiting in pigs,is a highly lethal disease caused by porcine epidemic diarrhoea virus(PEDV)and causes substantial losses in the swine industry worldwide.However,currently available commercial drugs have not shown great therapeutic effects.In this study,a fluorescence resonance energy transfer(FRET)-based assay was applied to screen a library containing 1,590 compounds and identified two compounds,3-(aminocarbonyl)-1-phenylpyridinium and 2,3-dichloronaphthoquinone,that target the 3C-like protease(3CL^(pro))of PEDV.These compounds are of low molecular weight(MW)and greatly inhibited the activity of this enzyme(IC_(50) values were obtained in this study).Furthermore,these compounds exhibited antiviral capacity against another member of the CoV family,feline infectious peritonitis virus(FIPV).Here,the inhibitory effects of these compounds against CoVs on Vero cells and feline kidney cells were identified(with EC_(50) values)and cell viability assays were performed.The results of putative molecular docking models indicate that these compounds,labeled compound 1 and compound 2,contact the conserved active sites(Cys144,Glu165,Gln191)of 3CL^(pro) via hydrogen bonds.These findings provide insight into the antiviral activities of compounds 1 and 2 that may facilitate future research on anti-CoV drugs. | Mengxin Zhou Yutong Han Mengxia Li Gang Ye Guiqing Peng | 2021 | Virologica Sinica2021,36,6: | 1 |

Series of characterizations have been performed to confirm the uniform distribution of CQDs in Bi OBr nanosheets and the synergistic effect for photocatalytic degradation organic pollutants between CQDs and Bi OBr. The results show that 3.1 wt% CQDs/Bi OBr photocatalyst possesses the best photocatalytic activity for the degradation of colorless antibiotic tetracycline(TC), endocrine disrupter bisphenol A(BPA) and dye rhodamine B(Rh B), under visible light irradiation, which exhibited the highest photocatalytic performance. The enhanced photocatalytic performance for CQDs/Bi OBr composites could be attributed to the wider optical absorption range and fast separation of photogenerated charge carriers after the introduction of CQDs. The key roles of CQDs for the enhanced photocatalytic activity of Bi OBr have been discussed. | 20 | Consensus on potential biomarkers developed for use in clinical tests for schizophrenia显示文摘Background Schizophrenia is a serious mental illness affecting approximately 20 million individuals globally.Both genetic and environmental factors contribute to the illness.If left undiagnosed and untreated,schizophrenia results in impaired social function,repeated hospital admissions,reduced quality of life and decreased life expectancy.Clinical diagnosis largely relies on subjective evidence,including self-reported experiences,and reported behavioural abnormalities followed by psychiatric evaluation.In addition,psychoses may occur along with other conditions,and the symptoms are often episodic and transient,posing a significant challenge to the precision of diagnosis.Therefore,objective,specific tests using biomarkers are urgently needed for differential diagnosis of schizophrenia in clinical practice.Aims We aimed to provide evidence-based and consensus-based recommendations,with a summary of laboratory measurements that could potentially be used as biomarkers for schizophrenia,and to discuss directions for future research.Methods We searched publications within the last 10 years with the following keywords:‘schizophrenia’,‘gene’,‘inflammation’,‘neurotransmitter’,‘protein marker’,‘gut microbiota’,‘pharmacogenomics’and‘biomarker’.A draft of the consensus was discussed and agreed on by all authors at a round table session.Results We summarised the characteristics of candidate diagnostic markers for schizophrenia,including genetic,inflammatory,neurotransmitter,peripheral protein,pharmacogenomic and gut microbiota markers.We also proposed a novel laboratory process for diagnosing schizophrenia in clinical practice based on the evidence summarised in this paper.Conclusions Further efforts are needed to identify schizophrenia-specific genetic and epigenetic markers for precise diagnosis,differential diagnosis and ethnicity-specific markers for the Chinese population.The development of novel laboratory techniques is making it possible to use these biomarkers clinically to diagnose disease. | Ping Lin Junyu Sun Xiaoyan Lou Dan Li Yun Shi Zhenhua Li Peijun Ma Ping Li Shuzi Chen Weifeng Jin Shuai Liu Qing Chen Qiong Gao Lili Zhu Jie Xu Mengyuan Zhu Mengxia Wang Kangyi Liang Ling Zhao Huabin Xu Ke Dong Qingtian Li Xunjia Cheng Jinghong Chen Xiaokui Guo | 2022 | General Psychiatry2022,35,1: | 1 |
