| 1 | Expression Analysis of Genes Related to Auxin Metabolism at Different Growth Stages of Pak Choi显示文摘Pak choi is a low-temperature vernalized plant that readily undergoes premature bolting during spring, but little is known about the governing molecular regulation of vernalization. In order to enhance our understanding of mechanism about premature bolting, we discussed the relationship between auxin(indole-3-acetic acid, IAA) and flowering of pak choi. During vernalization, hormone metabolism is an important regulatory pathway, and IAA plays a specific role. IAA metabolism has been studied in Arabidopsis thaliana and other plants, but not in pak choi. In this paper, the IAA content in pak choi shoot apices during vernalization and different growth stages was compared. The IAA content decreased significantly after low-temperature treatment(4 °C) and then increased rapidly during vegetative growth. During floral bud initiation,the IAA content decreased rapidly and was the lowest. Expressions of genes encoding key IAA metabolic enzymes were analyzed, and a major synthetase-encoding gene was downregulated, while a key degrading enzyme-encoding gene was upregulated during each comparison period,resulting in decreased IAA content. Expressions of four genes(Bra034975, Bra030246, Bra012239 and Bra040296) were consistent with changes in the IAA content. | 2 | Comparison of the interface reaction behaviors of CaO–V_(2)O_(5) and MnO_(2)–V_(2)O_(5) solid-state systems based on the diffusion couple method显示文摘The formation mechanism of calcium vanadate and manganese vanadate and the difference between calcium and manganese in the reaction with vanadium are basic issues in the calcification roasting and manganese roasting process with vanadium slag.In this work,CaO–V_(2)O_(5) and MnO_(2)–V_(2)O_(5) diffusion couples were prepared and roasted for different time periods to illustrate and compare the diffusion reaction mechanisms.Then,the changes in the diffusion product and diffusion coefficient were investigated and calculated based on scanning electron microscopy (SEM) with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) analysis.Results show that with the extension of the roasting time,the diffusion reaction gradually proceeds among the CaO–V_(2)O_(5) and MnO_(2)–V_(2)O_(5) diffusion couples.The regional boundaries of calcium and vanadium are easily identifiable for the CaO–V_(2)O_(5) diffusion couple.Meanwhile,for the MnO_(2)–V_(2)O_(5) diffusion couple,MnO_(2) gradually decomposes to form Mn_(2)O_(3),and vanadium diffuses into the interior of Mn_(2)O_(3).Only a part of vanadium combines with manganese to form the diffusion production layer.CaV_(2)O_(6) and MnV_(2)O_(6) are the interfacial reaction products of the CaO–V_(2)O_(5) and MnO_(2)–V_(2)O_(5) diffusion couples,respectively,whose thicknesses are 39.85 and 32.13μm when roasted for 16 h.After 16 h,both diffusion couples reach the reaction equilibrium due to the limitation of diffusion.The diffusion coefficient of the CaO–V_(2)O_(5) diffusion couple is higher than that of the MnO_(2)–V_(2)O_(5) diffusion couple for the same roasting time,and the diffusion reaction between vanadium and calcium is easier than that between vanadium and manganese. | Jing Wen Hongyan Sun Tao Jiang Bojian Chen Fangfang Li Mengxia Liu | 2023 | International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2023,30,5: | 2 |
| 3 | Consensus on potential biomarkers developed for use in clinical tests for schizophrenia显示文摘Background Schizophrenia is a serious mental illness affecting approximately 20 million individuals globally.Both genetic and environmental factors contribute to the illness.If left undiagnosed and untreated,schizophrenia results in impaired social function,repeated hospital admissions,reduced quality of life and decreased life expectancy.Clinical diagnosis largely relies on subjective evidence,including self-reported experiences,and reported behavioural abnormalities followed by psychiatric evaluation.In addition,psychoses may occur along with other conditions,and the symptoms are often episodic and transient,posing a significant challenge to the precision of diagnosis.Therefore,objective,specific tests using biomarkers are urgently needed for differential diagnosis of schizophrenia in clinical practice.Aims We aimed to provide evidence-based and consensus-based recommendations,with a summary of laboratory measurements that could potentially be used as biomarkers for schizophrenia,and to discuss directions for future research.Methods We searched publications within the last 10 years with the following keywords:‘schizophrenia’,‘gene’,‘inflammation’,‘neurotransmitter’,‘protein marker’,‘gut microbiota’,‘pharmacogenomics’and‘biomarker’.A draft of the consensus was discussed and agreed on by all authors at a round table session.Results We summarised the characteristics of candidate diagnostic markers for schizophrenia,including genetic,inflammatory,neurotransmitter,peripheral protein,pharmacogenomic and gut microbiota markers.We also proposed a novel laboratory process for diagnosing schizophrenia in clinical practice based on the evidence summarised in this paper.Conclusions Further efforts are needed to identify schizophrenia-specific genetic and epigenetic markers for precise diagnosis,differential diagnosis and ethnicity-specific markers for the Chinese population.The development of novel laboratory techniques is making it possible to use these biomarkers clinically to diagnose disease. | Ping Lin Junyu Sun Xiaoyan Lou Dan Li Yun Shi Zhenhua Li Peijun Ma Ping Li Shuzi Chen Weifeng Jin Shuai Liu Qing Chen Qiong Gao Lili Zhu Jie Xu Mengyuan Zhu Mengxia Wang Kangyi Liang Ling Zhao Huabin Xu Ke Dong Qingtian Li Xunjia Cheng Jinghong Chen Xiaokui Guo | 2022 | General Psychiatry2022,35,1: | 1 |

| 5 | Electrospun gelatin/chitosan nanofibers containing curcumin for multifunctional food packaging显示文摘Recently,food grade nanofiber-based materials have received growing attentions in food packaging.In this work,novel active and intelligent packaging nanofibers based on gelatin/chitosan with curcumin(GA/CS/CUR)were developed via electrospinning technique.Effects of the incorporation of CUR content(0.1%-0.3%,m/m)on the microstructure and functional properties of the electrospun nanofibers were investigated.Morphological studies using scanning electron microscopy indicated that loading CUR can affect the average diameter of nanofiber mats,which remained around 160-180 nm.The addition of an appropriate level CUR(0.2%,m/m)led to a stronger intermolecular interaction,and thus enhanced the thermal stability and tensile strength of the obtained nanofibers.Meanwhile,the incorporation of CUR significantly improved antioxidant activity and the antimicrobial activity of GA/CS/CUR nanofibers.Moreover,the sensitivity of nanofibers to ammonia results indicated that GA/CS nanofibers containing 0.2%CUR(GA/CS/CURⅡ)presented high sensitivity of colorimetric behavior to ammonia(within 3 min).These results suggest GA/CS/CURⅡnanofibers has great potential as a multifunctional packaging to protect and monitor the freshness of proteinrich animal foods,such as meat and seafood. | Mengxia Duan Jishuai Sun Yequn Huang Haixin Jiang Yaqin Hu Jie Pang Chunhua Wu | 2023 | Food Science and Human Wellness2023,12,2: | 1 |
| 6 | In situ formation of fluorescent silicon-containing polymer dots for alkaline phosphatase activity detection and immunoassay显示文摘The discovery and application of analyte-triggered fluorophore generation or fluorogenic reaction are significant and beneficial to the development of novel fluorescence(FL) analysis method. In this study, for the first time, we have reported a fluorogenic reaction to prepare fluorescent silicon-containing polymer dots(Si-PDs) by simply mixing N-[3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyl]ethylenediamine(DAMO) and hydroquinone(HQ) in aqueous solution at ambient temperature. Inspired by the alkaline phosphatase(ALP)-catalyzed hydrolysis of the substrate sodium 4-hydroxyphenyl phosphate(4-HPP) into HQ and the resultant HQcontrolled intense green Si-PDs generation, we have established a straightforward ALP activity assay by innovatively employing commercially available 4-HPP as the substrate. More significantly, the specific preparation method, clear formation mechanism and excellent performance enable the Si-PDs as well as its generation process to develop facile and attractive FL immunoassay.With the help of the universal ALP-based enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) platform and corresponding antibody, a convenient and conceptual ALP-based fluorescent ELISA has been constructed and applied in sensing cardiac troponin Ⅰ(cTnI),a well-known biomarker of acute myocardial infarction.
