4Sequencing of Cultivated Peanut, Arachis hypogaea, Yields Insights into Genome Evolution and Oil Improvement显示文摘Cultivated peanut (Arachis hypogaea) is an allotetraploid crop planted in Asia, Africa, and America for edible oil and protein. To explore the origins and consequences of tetraploidy, we sequenced the allotetraploid A. hypogaea genome and compared it with the related diploid Arachis duranensis and Arachis ipaensis genomes. We annotated 39 888 A-subgenome genes and 41 526 B-subgenome genes in allotetraploid peanut. The A. hypogaea subgenomes have evolved asymmetrically, with the B subgenome resembling the ancestral state and the A subgenome undergoing more gene disruption, loss, conversion, and transposable element proliferation, and having reduced gene expression during seed development despite lacking genome-wide expression dominance. Genomic and transcriptomic analyses identified more than 2 500 oil metabolism-related genes and revealed that most of them show altered expression early in seed development while their expression ceases during desiccation, presenting a comprehensive map of peanut lipid biosynthesis. 8New Bradoriid Arthropods from the Early Cambrian Balang Formation of Eastern Guizhou, South China显示文摘The Early Cambrian Balang Formation is comprised of mudrock and shale, which was deposited in a shelf environment in the eastern part of Guizhou, south China. The Balang Fauna, which consists of seven phyla, occurs in the middle and upper parts of the Balang Formation. Arthropods are important constituents of the Balang Fauna and include a great number of trilobites, large bivalved arthropods, and newly-discovered well-preserved bradoriid fossils. The bradoriids present include three genera and four species : Comptaluta inflata (Cheng, 1974) emend Hou et al., 2002; Comptaluta kailiensis sp. nov., and Alutella elongeta sp. nov., Aluta sp. This faunal assemblage in the Balang Formation is distinguished from the Tsunyiella Chang, 1964, Songlinella Yin, 1978 and Kunmingella Hou, 1956 assemblage which occurs in the Niutitang and Mingxinsi formations of the Yangtze Platform in middle region of Guizhou and which is earlier than the Balang Formation in age. However, this assemblage resembles the Comptaluta pik, 1968 assemblage from the Early Cambrian Heilinpu Formation in Wuding County, Yuanan Province and from the Ordian Stage of the Cambrian of Australia. The great abundance of Comptaluta pik, 1968 and overall taxonomic diversity of the Comptaluta pik, 1968 assemblage set it distinctly apart from the Alutella Kobayashi et Kato, 1951 and Aluta Hou, 1956 assemblages of the Balang Formation. Alutella Kobayashi et Kato, 1951 and Aluta Hou, 1956 also occur in the Early Cambrian Niutitang Formation of the Yangtze Platform of Guizhou. Individual Bradoriids from the Balang Formation are characterized by large size (>3 mm). 9Combining sap flow measurement-based canopy stomatal conductance and ^(13)C discrimination to estimate forest carbon assimilation显示文摘The available methods for studying C uptake of forest and their problems in practices are reviewed, and a new approach to combining sap flow and 13C techniques is proposed in this paper. This approach, obtained through strict mathematic derivation, combines sap flow measure-ment-based canopy stomatal conductance and 13C discrimi-nation to estimate instantaneous carbon assimilation rate of a forest. Namely the mean canopy stomatal conductance (gc) acquired from accurate measurement of sap flux density is integrated with the relationship between 13C discrimination (?) and Ci/Ca (intercellular/ambient CO2 concentrations) and with that between Anet (net photosynthetic rate) and gCO2 (stomatal conductance for CO2) so that a new relation be-tween forest C uptake and ? as well as gc is established. 10Status and development of high-power laser facilities at the NLHPLP显示文摘In this paper, we review the status of the multifunctional experimental platform at the National Laboratory of High Power Laser and Physics(NLHPLP). The platform, including the SG-II laser facility, SG-II 9th beam, SG-II upgrade(SG-II UP) facility, and SG-II 5 PW facility, is operational and available for interested scientists studying inertial confinement fusion(ICF) and a broad range of high-energy-density physics. These facilities can provide important experimental capabilities by combining different pulse widths of nanosecond, picosecond, and femtosecond scales. In addition, the SG-II UP facility, consisting of a single petawatt system and an eight-beam nanosecond system, is introduced including several laser technologies that have been developed to ensure the performance of the facility. 12IL-17 sustains the plasma cell response via p38-mediated Bcl-xL RNA stability in lupus pathogenesis显示文摘Recent studies have demonstrated a central role for plasma cells in the development of autoimmune diseases,such as systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE).Currently,both the phenotypic features and functional regulation of autoreactive plasma cells during SLE pathogenesis remain largely unclear.In this study,we first found that a major subset of IL-17 receptor-expressing plasma cells potently produced anti-dsDNA IgG upon IL-17A(IL-17)stimulation in SLE patients and lupus mice.Using a humanized lupus mouse model,we showed that the transfer of Th17 cell-depleted PBMCs from lupus patients resulted in a significantly reduced plasma cell response and attenuated renal damage in recipient mice compared to the transfer of total SLE PBMCs.Moreover,long-term BrdU incorporation in lupus mice detected highly enriched long-lived BrdU+subsets among IL-17 receptor-expressing plasma cells.Lupus mice deficient in IL-17 or IL-17 receptor C(IL-17RC)exhibited a diminished plasma cell response and reduced autoantibody production with attenuated renal damage,while the adoptive transfer of Th17 cells triggered the plasma cell response and renal damage in IL-17-deficient lupus mice.In reconstituted chimeric mice,IL-17RC deficiency resulted in severely impaired plasma cell generation but showed no obvious effect on germinal center B cells.Further mechanistic studies revealed that IL-17 significantly promoted plasma cell survival via p38-mediated Bcl-xL transcript stabilization.Together,our findings identified a novel function of IL-17 in enhancing plasma cell survival for autoantibody production in lupus pathogenesis,which may provide new therapeutic strategies for the treatment of SLE.Kongyang Ma Wenhan Du Fan Xiao Man Han Enyu Huang Na Peng Yuan Tang Chong Deng Lixiong Liu Yulan Chen Jingjing Li Shiwen Yuan Qin Huang Xiaoping Hong Dajun Hu Xiaoyan Cai Quan Jiang Dongzhou Liu Liwei Lu 2021Cellular & Molecular Immunology2021,18,7:6
13Trace Fossils from Lower Cambrian Wusongger Formation in Xiaoerbulake Outcrop,Kalpin Area,Xinjiang显示文摘Based on the analysis of trace fossils collected from the typical outcrop of the Lower Cambrian Wusongger Formation in the Kalpin area,ten ichnospecies of six ichnogenus were identified in the upper member of the Wusongger Formation,with most of them being found for the first time.The trace fossils are described seriatim.The ichnospecies are mainly represented by such common trace fossils as Ophiomorpha nodosa,Helminthopsis hieroglyphica,Helminthopsis ichnosp.,Planolites beverleyensis,Planolites vulgaris,Planolites montanus,Palaeophycus striatus,Palaeophycus curvatus?,Cochlichnus anguineus and Rituichnus elongatum.The trace fossils are of high diversity and low abundance,and can be diagnosed as the Cruziana ichnofacies.They can be interpreted as having formed in a shallow water environment.BAI Zhongkai LU Xiuxiang LIU Xiaoping XIE Qilai LI Jianjiao WU Jianjun 2012Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2012,86,2:6

15Experimental study on spectral responses of offshore oil slick显示文摘Using the seawater taken from Liaodong Bay and crude oil taken from Liaohe Oilfield,a laboratory experiment was designed to study the change of reflectance spectrum of artificial offshore oil slick with its thickness and to identify the spectrum ranges suitable for quantifying the thickness of the oil slick.During the experiment,crude oil was continuously dropped into the seawater to generate artificial oil slick with different thicknesses.After every drop of crude oil was added,reflectance spectrum of the oil slick was measured with a high resolution spectroradiometer(ASD FieldSpec Pro FR).The influence of oil slick thickness on its reflectance spectrum was explored through statistical analysis.The results show that the reflectance of oil slick changes marginally with oil slick thickness and higher than that of seawater in infrared band from 1150 to 2500 nm.This spectrum range can be practically used to distinguish oil slick from seawater.In the spectrum range from 400 to 1150 nm,the reflectance of oil slick decreases with its thickness.The negative power function is the best-fit function expressing the relationship between the reflectance and thickness.The spectral characteristics of oil slick are very distinct at 550 and 645 nm.They are the best wavelengths for monitoring the existence of offshore oil slick and estimating its thickness.LU YingCheng TIAN QingJiu WANG JingJing WANG XiangCheng QI XiaoPing 2008Chinese Science Bulletin2008,53,24:6

18An advanced SEU tolerant latch based on error detection显示文摘This paper proposes a latch that can mitigate SEUs via an error detection circuit.The error detection circuit is hardened by a C-element and a stacked PMOS.In the hold state,a particle strikes the latch or the error detection circuit may cause a fault logic state of the circuit.The error detection circuit can detect the upset node in the latch and the fault output will be corrected.The upset node in the error detection circuit can be corrected by the C-element.The power dissipation and propagation delay of the proposed latch are analyzed by HSPICE simulations.The proposed latch consumes about 77.5%less energy and 33.1%less propagation delay than the triple modular redundancy(TMR)latch.Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed latch can mitigate SEU effectively.Hui Xu Jianwei Zhu Xiaoping Lu Jingzhao Li 2018Journal of Semiconductors2018,39,5:5

20Spatial and Seasonal Variations of Nutrients in Sediment Profiles and Their Sediment-Water Fluxes in the Pearl River Estuary,Southern China显示文摘Three cruises were launched in the Pearl River Estuary(PRE)in 2005 to investigate the biogeochemical cycling of nutrients associated with early diagenesis related to degradation of organic matter.Seasonal and spatial variations of pore water nutrient concentrations and profile patterns in sediments were studied.Nutrient fluxes at the sediment-water interface(SWI)were measured by incubation experiments,and we here discussed the accumulation and transformation processes of nutrients at the SWI.The nutrients generally decreased from the Pearl River outlets downstream,indicating anthropogenic influences on the nutrient inputs in the estuary.NO3-N concentration was the highest of the three forms of DIN(dissolved inorganic nitrogen,the sum of NH4-N,NO3-N and NO2-N)in the overlying water,and NH4-N was the main component of DIN in pore water.The gradual increase of NH4-N and the rapid decrease of NO3-N with sediment depth provided the evidence for anaerobic conditions below the SWI.Negative fluxes of NO3-N and positive fluxes of NH4-N were commonly observed,suggesting the denitrification of NO3-N at the SWI.The DIN flux direction suggested that the sediment was the sink of DIN in spring,however,the sediment was generally the source of DIN in summer and winter.PO4-P distribution patterns were distinct while SiO4-Si inconspicuously varied in sediment profiles in different seasons.The flux results indicated that PO4-P mainly diffused from the water column to the sediment while SiO4-Si mainly diffused from the sediment to the water column.Generally,the incubated fluxes were the coupling of diffusion,bioturbation and biochemical reactions,and were relatively accurate in this study.Ling Zhang Lu Wang Kedong Yin Ying Lü Yongqiang Yang Xiaoping Huang 2014Journal of Earth Science2014,25,1:5
