12D titanium carbide(MXene) electrodes with lower-F surface for high performance lithium-ion batteries显示文摘MXene has shown distinctive advantages as anode materials of lithium-ion batteries. However, local surface chemistry, which was confirmed that can block ion transfer and limit redox reaction, has a significant effect on electrochemical performance. Herein, annealing MXene under hydrogen was employed for removing-F and turning-OH to-O terminations. We demonstrate that it improves the kinetics of Li-ion transport between the electrolyte and electrode. As a result, a lower interfacial charge transfer impedance was obtained. 2Comparison of alternative extraction methods for secretome profiling in human hepatocellular carcinoma cells显示文摘Secreted proteins are important sources for early detection and diagnosis of disease, and as such have received considerable attention. The extraction of low concentration proteins from large volumes of culture media, which are rich in salts and other compounds that interfere with most proteomics techniques, presents a problem for secretome studies. Ultrafiltration, precipitation, and dialysis are three major extraction methods that can be used to overcome this problem. The present study for the first time, compared the merits and shortcomings of these three methods, without bias. Centrifugal ultrafiltration provided the best extraction efficiency, and precipitation provided the highest number of identifiable proteins. The three methods yielded closely related, but different, information on the secretome; thus, they should be considered complementary or, at least, supplementary methods. Three hundred and sixty unique proteins were identified, including 211 potential secreted proteins. Compared with previous studies, this study also identified 42 new secreted proteins. 5Employing MXene as a matrix for loading amorphous Si generated upon lithiation towards enhanced lithium-ion storage显示文摘Although Si-based nanomaterials provide incomparable lithium ion storage ability in theory, it suffers from low initial Coulombic efficiency, electrical disconnection, and fracture due to huge volume changes after extended cycles. As a result, it leads to a severe capacity fading and an increase in internal impedance. Herein, Ti-elemental MXene was employed as a matrix for the intermediate product of Si electrodes. The boundary between the inner core of pristine Si and its outer shell of amorphous Li x Si alloy was reconstructed. Smaller amorphous aggregates were observed in the MXene&Si hybrid electrode after 500 cycles by using transmission electron microscopy. 7Advancements in mass spectrometry-based glycoproteomics and glycomics显示文摘Protein N-glycosylation plays a crucial role in a considerable number of important biological processes.Research studies on glycoproteomes and glycomes have already characterized many glycoproteins and glycans associated with cell development, life cycle, and disease progression. Mass spectrometry(MS) is the most powerful tool for identifying biomolecules including glycoproteins and glycans, however, utilizing MS-based approaches to identify glycoproteomes and glycomes is challenging due to the technical difficulties associated with glycosylation analysis. In this review, we summarize the most recent developments in MS-based glycoproteomics and glycomics, including a discussion on the development of analytical methodologies and strategies used to explore the glycoproteome and glycome, as well as noteworthy biological discoveries made in glycoproteome and glycome research. 8Nascent Proteome and Glycoproteome Reveal the Inhibition Role of ALG1 in Hepatocellular Carcinoma Cell Migration显示文摘Asparagine-linked glycosylation protein 1 homolog(ALG1)participates in the initial stage of protein N-glycosylation and N-glycosylation has been implicated in the process of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)progression.However,whether ALG1 plays a role in human HCC remains unknown.In this study,the expression profile of ALG1 in tumorous and corresponding adjacent non-tumor tissues was analyzed.The relationship of ALG1 expression with clinical features and prognosis of HCC patients was also evaluated using immuno-histochemical method.Here we found ALG1 decreased in HCC tissues compared with adjacent normal liver tissues,which predicted an unfavorable prognosis.Combined with RNA interference,nascent proteome and glycoproteome were determined systematically in Huh7 cell line.Bioinformatics analysis indicated that the differentially expressed proteins participating in the response of ALG1 knockdown were most significantly associated with cell-cell adhesion.Functional studies confirmed that knockdown of ALG1 reduced cell adhesion capacity,and promoted cell migration.Furthermore,down-regulation of H8N2(on N-glycosite N651)and H5N4S2F1(on N-glycosite N692)from N-cadherin was identified as a feature of ALG1 knockdown.Our findings revealed that ALG1 controlled the expression of glycosylated N-cadherin and played a role in HCC migration,with implications for prognosis.Xinyi Cao Yuyin Shao Peiyi Meng Zhao Cao Guoquan Yan Jun Yao Xinwen Zhou Chao Liu Lei Zhang Hong Shu Haojie Lu 2022Phenomics2022,2,4:2
9Ultra-sensitive and wide applicable strain sensor enabled by carbon nanofibers with dual alignment for human machine interfaces显示文摘Flexible strain sensors with high sensitivity,wide detection range,and low detection limit have continuously attracted great interest due to their tremendous application potential in areas such as health/medical-care,human-machine interface,as well as safety and security.While both of a high sensitivity and a wide working range are desired key parameters for a strain sensor,they are usually contrary to each other to be achieved on the same sensor due to the tightly structure dependence of both of them.Here,a flexible strain sensor with both high sensitivity and wide strain detection range is prepared based on the design of an integrated membrane containing both of parallel aligned and randomly aligned carbon nanofibers(CNFs).The parallel aligned CNF membrane(p-CNF)exhibits a low strain detection limit and high sensitivity,while the random aligned CNF membrane(r-CNF)exhibits a large strain detection range.Taking the advantages of both p-CNF and r-CNF,the strain sensor with stacked p-CNF and r-CNF(p/r-CNF)exhibits both high sensitivity and wide working range.Its gauge factor(GF)is 1,272 for strains under 0.5%and 2,266 for strain from 70%to 100%.At the same time,it can work in a wide strain range of 0.005%to 100%,fulfilling the requirements for accurately detecting full-range human motions.We demonstrated its applications in the recognition of facial expressions and joint movements.Furtherly,we constructed an intelligent lip-language recognition system,which can accurately track phonetic symbols and may help people with language disabilities,proving the potential of this strain sensor in health management and medical assistance.Besides,we foresee that the dual-alignment structure design of the p/r-CNF strain sensor may also be applied in the design of other high performance sensors.Peng Bi Mingchao Zhang Shuo Li Haojie Lu Haomin Wang Xiaoping Liang Huarun Liang Yingying Zhang 2023Nano Research2023,16,3:2
10Silkworm Silk Fibers with Multiple Reinforced Properties Obtained through Feeding Ag Nanowires显示文摘Silkworm silk fbers have been woven into textiles for thousands of years,because of their attractive luster,good mechanical properties,excellent biocompatibility,and large-scale production.With the development of human society,preparation of silk fbers with modifed or enhanced properties are highly desirable for potential applications in structural materials and smart textiles.Herein,we realized the reinforcement of multiple properties of silk fbers by feeding silkworms with Ag nanowire(Ag NW)modifed diets.The obtained silk fbers show obviously enhanced comprehensive mechanical properties,including improved tensile strength,elongation at break,tensile modulus,and toughness,which are increased by 37.2%,37.6%,68.3%,and 69.8%,respectively.Furthermore,compared with unmodifed silk,the electrical conductivity and thermal conductivity of modifed silk fbers are improved by 246.4%and 32.1%,respectively.The analysis on the components and structure shows that the incorporated Ag NWs lead to increased content of random coil/α-helix,improved orientation of crystallites,and increased content of Ag compared to pristine silk fbers,which may contribute to the enhanced mechanical,electrical,and thermal properties.Haojie Lu Muqiang Jian Zhe Yin Kailun Xia Shaoyi Shi Mingchao Zhang Huimin Wang Xiaoping Liang Weigang Ma Xing Zhang Yingying Zhang 2022Advanced Fiber Materials2022,4,3:2

12A chromosome-scale genome assembly of Dasypyrum villosum provides insights into its application as a broad-spectrum disease resistance resource for wheat improvement显示文摘Dasypyrum villosum is one of the most valuable gene resources in wheat improvement,especially for disease resistance.The mining of favorable genes from D.villosum is frustrated by the lack of a whole genome sequence.In this study,we generated a doubled-haploid line,91C43^(DH),using microspore culture and obtained a 4.05-GB high-quality,chromosome-scale genome assembly for D.villosum.The assembly contains39727 high-confidence genes,and 85.31% of the sequences are repetitive.Two reciprocal translocation events were detected,and 7VS-4VL is a unique translocation in D.villosum.The prolamin seed storage protein-coding genes were found to be duplicated;in particular,the genes encoding low-molecular-weight glutenin at the Glu-V3 locus were significantly expanded.RNA sequencing(RNA-seq)analysis indicated that,after Blumeria graminearum f.sp tritici(Bgt)inoculation,there were more upregulated genes involved in the pattern-triggered immunity and effector-triggered immunity defense pathways in D.villosum than in Triticum urartu.MNase hypersensitive sequencing(MH-seq)identified two Bgt-inducible MH sites(MHSs),one in the promoter and one in the 3'terminal region of the powdery mildew resistance(Pm)gene NLR1-V.Each site had two subpeaks and they were termed MHS1(MHS1.1/1.2)and MHS2(MHS2.1/2.2).Bgt-inducible MHS2.2 was uniquely present in D.villosum,and MHS1.1 was more inducible in D.villosum than in wheat,suggesting that MHSs may be critical for regulation of NLR1-V expression and plant defense.In summary,this study provides a valuable genome resource for functional genomics studies and wheat-D.villosum introgression breeding.The identified regulatory mechanisms may also be exploited to develop new strategies for enhancing Pm resistance by optimizing gene expression in wheat.Xu Zhang Haiyan Wang Haojie Sun Yingbo Li Yilong Feng Chengzhi Jiao Mengli Li Xinying Song Tong Wang Zongkuan Wang Chunxia Yuan Li Sun Ruju Lu Wenli Zhang Jin Xiao Xiue Wang 2023Molecular Plant2023,16,2:1
13Mechanically Reinforced Silkworm Silk Fiber by Hot Stretching显示文摘Silkworm silk,which is obtained from domesticated Bombyx mori(B.mori),can be produced in a large scale.However,the mechanical properties of silkworm silk are inferior to its counterpart,spider dragline silk.Therefore,researchers are continuously exploring approaches to reinforce silkworm silk.Herein,we report a facile and scalable hot stretching process to reinforce natural silk fibers obtained from silkworm cocoons.Experimental results show that the obtained hot-stretched silk fibers(HSSFs)retain the chemical components of the original silk fibers while being endowed with increasedβ-sheet nanocrystal content and crystalline orientation,leading to enhanced mechanical properties.Significantly,the average modulus of the HSSFs reaches 21:6±2:8 GPa,which is about twice that of pristine silkworm silk fibers(11:0±1:7 GPa).Besides,the tensile strength of the HSSFs reaches 0:77±0:13 GPa,which is also obviously higher than that of the pristine silk(0:56±0:08 GPa).The results show that the hot stretching treatment is effective and efficient for producing superstiff,strong,and tough silkworm silk fibers.We anticipate this approach may be also effective for reinforcing other natural or artificial polymer fibers or films containing abundant hydrogen bonds.Haojie Lu Kailun Xia Muqiang Jian Xiaoping Liang Zhe Yin Mingchao Zhang Huimin Wang Haomin Wang Shuo Li Yingying Zhang 2022Research2022,,3:1
14New lysine-acetylated proteins screened by immunoaffinity and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry显示文摘The lack of selective extraction specific for lysine-acetylated proteins has been a major problem in the field of acetylation biology,though acetylation plays a key role in many biological processes.In this paper,we report for the first time the proteomic screening of lysine-acetylated proteins from a mouse liver tissue,by a new approach of immunoaffinity purification of lysine-acetylated peptides combined with nano-HPLC/MS/MS analysis.We have found 20 lysine-acetylated proteins with 21 lysine-acetylated sites,among which 12 lysine-acetylated proteins and 16 lysine-acetylated sites have never been reported before.Notably,three acetyltransferases harboring in mitochondrion are newly discovered acetyltransferases responsible for the acetylation of nonhistone proteins.We have explored the significant patterns of residue preference by the hierarchical clustering analysis of amino acid residues surrounding acetylation sites,which could be helpful to the prediction of new sites of lysine acetylation.Our findings provide more candidates for studying the important roles played by acetylation in diverse cellular pathways and related human diseases.ZHANG Bing ZHAO Chao LUO KaiXuan YAN GuoQuan YAO Jun WANG YingYin LU HaoJie FAN HuiZhi YANG PengYuan 2010Science China Chemistry2010,53,1:1
15High-throughput site-specific N-glycoproteomics reveals glyco-signatures for liver disease diagnosis显示文摘The glycoproteome has emerged as a prominent target for screening biomarkers,as altered glycosylation is a hallmark of cancer cells.In this work,we incorporated tandem mass tag labeling into quantitative glycoproteomics by developing a chemical labeling-assisted complementary dissociation method for the multiplexed analysis of intact N-glycopeptides.Benefiting from the complementary nature of two different mass spectrometry dissociation methods for identification and multiplex labeling for quantification of intact N-glycopeptides,we conducted the most comprehensive site-specific and subclass-specific N-glycosylation profiling of human serum immunoglobulin G(IgG)to date.By analysing the serum of 90 human patients with varying severities of liver diseases,as well as healthy controls,we identified that the combination of IgG1-H3N5F1 and IgG4-H4N3 can be used for distinguishing between different stages of liver diseases.Finally,we used targeted parallel reaction monitoring to successfully validate the expression changes of glycosylation in liver diseases in a different sample cohort that included 45 serum samples.Zhenyu Sun Bin Fu Guoli Wang Lei Zhang Ruofan Xu Ying Zhang Haojie Lu 2023National Science Review2023,10,1:1

17Heterointerface Engineering of β‑Chitin/Carbon Nano‑Onions/Ni-P Composites with Boosted Maxwell‑Wagner‑Sillars Effect for Highly Efficient Electromagnetic Wave Response and Thermal Management显示文摘The rational construction of microstructure and composition with enhanced Maxwell-Wagner-Sillars effect(MWSE)is still a challenging direction for reinforcing electromagnetic wave(EMW)absorption performance,and the related EMW attenuation mechanism has rarely been elucidated.Herein,MWSE boostedβ-chitin/carbon nano-onions/Ni–P composites is prepared according to the heterointerface engineering strategy via facile layer-by-layer electrostatic assembly and electroless plating techniques.The heterogeneous interface is reinforced from the aspect of porous skeleton,nanomaterials and multilayer construction.The composites exhibit competitive EMW response mechanism between the conductive loss and the polarization/magnetic loss,as describing like the story of“The Hare and the Tortoise”.As a result,the composites not only achieve a minimum reflection loss(RL_(min))of−50.83 dB and an effective bandwidth of 6.8 GHz,but also present remarkable EMW interference shielding effectiveness of 66.66 dB.In addition,diverse functions such as good thermal insulation,infrared shielding and photothermal performance were also achieved in the hybrid composites as a result of intrinsic morphology and chemicophysics properties.Therefore,we believe that the boosted MWSE open up a novel orientation toward developing multifunctional composites with high-efficient EMW response and thermal management.Fei Pan Lei Cai Yuyang Shi Yanyan Dong Xiaojie Zhu Jie Cheng Haojie Jiang Xiao Wang Yifeng Jiang Wei Lu 2022Nano-Micro Letters2022,14,5:1

20Association between sex hormone-binding globulin and kidney function in men: results from the SPECT-China study显示文摘Background::The association between sex hormone-binding globulin(SHBG)and renal function has rarely been reported in men.We aimed to investigate the above association in a community-based Chinese population.Methods::A total of 5027 men were included from the survey on prevalence for metabolic diseases and risk factors,which is a population-based study conducted from 2014 to 2016 in Eastern China.The estimated glomerular filtration rate(eGFR)was calculated according to the chronic kidney disease Epidemiology Collaboration equation.Low eGFR was defined as eGFR<60 mL·min-1·1.73 m-2.Results::After adjusting for age,smoking,metabolic factors,and testosterone,through increasing quartiles of SHBG,a significantly positive association between SHBG quartiles and eGFR was detected in men(Q1 vs.Q4,β-2.53,95%confidence interval-3.89,-1.17,Ptrend<0.001).Compared with the highest quartile of SHBG,SHBG in the lowest quartile was associated with 96%higher odds of low eGFR(odds ratio 1.96,95%confidence interval 1.10,3.48)in the model after full adjustment.According to the stratified analyses,the associations between a 1-standard deviation increase in serum SHBG and the prevalence of low eGFR were significant in men aged≥60 years old,waist circumference<90 cm,diabetes(no),hypertension(yes),dyslipidemia(no),and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(no).Conclusions::Lower serum SHBG levels were significantly associated with lower eGFR and a higher prevalence of low eGFR in Chinese men independent of demographics,lifestyle,metabolic-related risk factors,and testosterone.Large prospective cohort and basic mechanistic studies are warranted in the future.Haojie Zhang Chi Chen Xuan Zhang Yuying Wang Heng Wan Yi Chen Wen Zhang Fangzhen Xia Yingli Lu Ningjian Wang 2022Chinese Medical Journal2022,135,17:1
