1The enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP显示文摘In this paper we present the enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP. eXTP is a space science mission designed to study fundamental physics under extreme conditions of density, gravity and magnetism. The mission aims at determining the equation of state of matter at supra-nuclear density, measuring effects of QED, and understanding the dynamics of matter in strong-field gravity. In addition to investigating fundamental physics, eXTP will be a very powerful observatory for astrophysics that will provide observations of unprecedented quality on a variety of galactic and extragalactic objects. 2Protective effects of human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell-derived conditioned medium on ovarian damage显示文摘Chemotherapeutic agents are extensively used to treat malignancies.However,chemotherapy-induced ovarian damage and reduced fertility are severe side effects.Recently,stem cell transplantation has been reported to be an effective strategy for premature ovarian insufficiency(POI)treatment,but safety can still be an issue in stem cell-based therapy.Here,we show the protective effects of human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell-derived conditioned medium(hUCMSC-CM)on a cisplatin(Cs)-induced ovarian injury model.hUCMSC-CM can relieve Cs-induced depletion of follicles and preserve fertility.In addition,hUCMSC-CM can decrease apoptosis of oocytes and granulosa cells induced by Cs.RNA sequencing analysis reveals the differentially expressed genes of ovaries after Cs and hUCMSC-CM treatments,including genes involved in cell apoptosis.Furthermore,we show that the granulocyte colony-stimulating factor(G-CSF)/phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase(PI3K)/protein kinase B(Akt)pathway plays an important role in protecting granulosa cells from Cs-induced apoptosis.Together,we confirm the protective effects of hUCMSC-CM on ovarian reserve and fertility in mice treated with Cs,highlighting the remarkable therapeutic effects of hUCMSC-CM.Liming Hong Long Yan Zhimin Xin Jie Hao Wenjing Liu Shuyu Wang Shujie Liao Hongmei Wang Xiaokui Yang 2020Journal of Molecular Cell Biology2020,12,5:7

4Inheritance of growth and survival in two 9-year-old, open-pollinated progenies of an advanced breeding population of Chinese firs in southeastern China显示文摘Tree growth traits(tree height,DBH and stem volume) and survival from two 9-year-old,open-pollinated progeny tests of Chinese fir were investigated for heritability,genotype 9 environment interaction,age-age genetic correlation and selection efficiency.The 97 and 79 families planted at two sites were collected from the thirdcycle seed orchard.Individual heritability was estimated between 0.05 and 0.21 for tree height,DBH,and volume and between 0.45 and 1.0 for survival.Family heritability was between 0.20 and 1.14.Significant genotype 9 environment interaction was observed for the three growth traits.Type B genetic correlation was between 0.41 and 0.67 with an increasing trend as tree grows.High age-age genetic correlation was observed with correlation reaching 0.9 after age 4 for height,DBH,and volume.The genetic gains were estimated at 3.26,3.39 and 5.98 % for tree height,DBH,and volume with 10 % selection intensity.The implication for advanced tree breeding in Chinese fir is discussed.Renhua Zheng Zhou Hong Shunde Su Liming Bian Hui Xiao Jisen Shi Harry X. 6Abnormal Adipokines Associated with Various Types of Obesity in Chinese Children and Adolescents显示文摘Objective To explore the role of adipokines including insulin, resistin, leptin, adiponectin, acylation stimulating protein (ASP) and complement C3 (C3) in various types of obesity (peripheral obesity, abdominal obesity and mixed obesity) in Chinese children and adolescents, and their relationships with body size and pubertal development. Methods Children and adolescents (n=3 508) aged 6 to 18 years, with 1 788 boys and 1 720 girls were assessed for body mass index, waist circumference, pubertal development, blood insulin, resistin, leptin, adiponectin, ASP and C3 levels. Three types of obesity [peripheral obesity (n=43), abdominal obesity (n=473), mixed obesity (n=1 187)] and non‐obese control (n=1 805) were defined with combined use of Chinese body mass index and waist circumference criteria. Results Serum resistin, leptin and adiponectin levels were higher in girls than those in boys (all P<0.01). Insulin and leptin increased and adiponectin decreased across five Tanner stages in both girls and boys (all P<0.001), while ASP changed only in girls (P<0.001) and C3 only in boys (P<0.001). Insulin, leptin and ASP were higher, but adiponectin was lower in all three types of obesity vs. the non‐obese control (all P<0.05). The greatest abnormalities of all six adipokines were found in the mixed obesity group. With inclusion of body mass index and waist circumference in simultaneous regression analyses, both body size indices were independently and significantly correlated with insulin, leptin and adiponectin after age and gender adjustment. Compared with waist circumference, the body mass index was stronger in interpreting insulin, leptin, adiponectin and ASP levels, whereas it was weaker in explaining variance of plasma C3. Conclusions Obese children have a worse metabolic profile with high insulin, resistin, leptin, ASP and C3, and low adiponectin levels. The adipokine profile in mixed obesity is worse than that in peripheral or abdominal obesity. 9Genome-wide identification and cold stress-induced expression analysis of the CBF gene family in Liriodendron chinense显示文摘Cold-resistance pathways that operate in model plants such as Arabidopsis thaliana and Oryza sativa have been studied extensively.It has been found that CBF genes play an important role in plant cold resistance.Liriodendron chinense,a tree known for its graceful tree shape and widely spread in south China,has weak cold tolerance.However,little is known about its response to cold.To further study the function of L.chinense CBF gene family,we started by characterizing all members of this gene family in the L.chinense genome and their expression profiling.Phylogenetic analysis found that 14 CBF genes in L.chinense are more closely related to their homologues in woody plants and A.thaliana than those in O.sativa.Cis-acting elements and GO analysis showed that some LcCBF genes participated in the biological process of cold stress response.The transcriptomic and RT-qPCR data showed that most of LcCBF genes displayed an initially increasing and subsequently decreasing trend during cold stress course and the expression profile of each member was different.Some LcCBF genes exhibited a different abundance in callus,root,stem and leaf tissues.The structure and expression characteristics of LcCBF genes imply that they may have similar and different functions in response to cold stress conditions.The identification and analysis of LcCBF gene family have laid the foundation for future studies into L.chinense cold stress mechanisms and for the cultivation of cold-resistance cultivars.Yuanlin Guan Siqin Liu Weihuang Wu Kaiyue Hong Rongxue Li Liming Zhu Yang Liu Ye Lu Jinhui Chen Liming Yang Jisen Shi 2021Journal of Forestry Research2021,32,6:3
10Reversible Al^(3+) storage mechanism in anatase TiO_(2) cathode material for ionic liquid electrolyte-based aluminum-ion batteries显示文摘Rechargeable aluminum ion battery(AIB) with high theoretical specific capacity, abundant elements and low cost engages considerable attention as a promising next generation energy storage and conversion system. Nevertheless, to date, one of the major barriers to pursuit better AIB is the limited applicable cathode materials with the ability to store aluminum highly reversibly. Herein, a highly reversible AIB is proposed using mesoporous TiO2 microparticles(M-TiO2) as the cathode material. The improved performance of Ti O2/Al battery is ascribed to the high ionic conductivity and material stability, which is caused by the stable architecture with a mesoporous microstructure and no random aggregation of secondary particles. In addition, we conducted detailed characterization to gain deeper understanding of the Al^(3+) storage mechanism in anatase Ti O2 for AIB. Our findings demonstrate clearly that Al^(3+)can be reversibly stored in anatase TiO2 by intercalation reactions based on ionic liquid electrolyte. Especially, DFT calculations were used to investigate the accurate insertion sites of aluminum ions in M-Ti O2 and the volume changes of M-TiO2 cells during discharging. As for the controversial side reactions in AIBs, in this work, by normalized calculation, we confirm that M-Ti O2 alone participate in the redox reaction. 12Prediction of the coupled heat radiation and conduction parameters and boundary condition using the unscented Kalman filter显示文摘The boundary emissivity, thermal conductivity, and boundary time-varying heat flux in the participating media are retrieved in this work. In the forward model, the coupled radiation-conduction heat transfer in the participating medium is resolved by the finite volume method combined with discrete ordinates method. The inverse model utilizes the temperature signals at the appropriate position of the medium as the known information and uses the unscented Kalman filter(UKF) as an optimization tool to reconstruct the boundary emissivity, thermal conductivity, and boundary time-varying heat flux. It is found that when the emissivity, thermal conductivity, and boundary time-varying heat flux are reconstructed simultaneously, only the temperature information of two locations is required. The influence of the measurement noise, sampling interval, absorption coefficient,process noise covariance, measurement noise covariance on the accuracy and stability of the retrieval results is investigated in detail. 14Synergistic effects of autophagy/mitophagy inhibitors and magnolol promote apoptosis and antitumor efficacy显示文摘Mitochondria as a signaling platform play crucial roles in deciding cell fate.Many classic anticancer agents are known to trigger cell death through induction of mitochondrial damage.Mitophagy,one selective autophagy,is the key mitochondrial quality control that effectively removes damaged mitochondria.However,the precise roles of mitophagy in tumorigenesis and anticancer agent treatment remain largely unclear.Here,we examined the functional implication of mitophagy in the anticancer properties of magnolol,a natural product isolated from herbal Magnolia officinalis.First,we found that magnolol induces mitochondrial depolarization,causes excessive mitochondrial fragmentation,and increases mitochondrial reactive oxygen species(mtROS).Second,magnolol induces PTEN-induced putative kinase protein 1(PINK1)-Parkin-mediated mitophagy through regulating two positive feedforward amplification loops.Third,magnolol triggers cancer cell death and inhibits neuroblastoma tumor growth via the intrinsic apoptosis pathway.Moreover,magnolol prolongs the survival time of tumor-bearing mice.Finally,inhibition of mitophagy by PINK1/Parkin knockdown or using inhibitors targeting different autophagy/mitophagy stages significantly promotes magnolol-induced cell death and enhances magnolol's anticancer efficacy,both in vitro and in vivo.Altogether,our study demonstrates that magnolol can induce autophagy/mitophagy and apoptosis,whereas blockage of autophagy/mitophagy remarkably enhances the anticancer efficacy of magnolol,suggesting that targeting mitophagy may be a promising strategy to overcome chemoresistance and improve anticancer therapy.Yancheng Tang Liming Wang Tao Yi Jun Xu Jigang Wang Jiang-Jiang Qin Qilei Chen Ka-Man Yip Yihang Pan Peng Hong Yingying Lu Han-Ming Shen Hu-Biao Chen 2021Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2021,11,12:2

18High cycle fatigue failure with radial cracks in gears of aero-engines显示文摘The gears in aero-engines perform energy and motion transfer between the HighPressure Rotor(HPR)and accessories.Firstly,an occurred fault with radial cracks in the driven gear disk was diagnosed as High Cycle Fatigue(HCF)failure through necessary examinations.Analysis of fault tree and test signals indicated that the fracture was relevant to the swing vibration of the driven gear excited by the unbalance excitation on HPR.Secondly,a corresponding mechanism model was established,in which the gear meshing effect was considered,with lateral and swing vibration mode.The Governing Equations(GEs)and the Finite Element Model(FEM)were established and verified.Then,the modal shapes,harmonic response,and transient response were analyzed,indicating that the swing vibration of the driven gear could be significantly excited by the unbalance on HPR,which induced the cracks in the driven gear disk to extend radially.Furthermore,influences of factors on the unbalance response were obtained,in which the unbalance response appeared local minimum points and maximum points.Meanwhile,1#and 2#bearing stiffness had rather significant influences on the response.Thus it is efficient to modify them to achieve vibration control.Jie HONG Liming JIANG Xiru XU Yanhong MA 2020Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2020,33,10:1
