1Anisotropic coding metamaterials and their powerful manipulation of differently polarized terahertz waves显示文摘Metamaterials based on effective media can be used to produce a number of unusual physical properties(for example,negative refraction and invisibility cloaking)because they can be tailored with effective medium parameters that do not occur in nature.Recently,the use of coding metamaterials has been suggested for the control of electromagnetic waves through the design of coding sequences using digital elements‘0’and‘1,'which possess opposite phase responses.Here we propose the concept of an anisotropic coding metamaterial in which the coding behaviors in different directions are dependent on the polarization status of the electromagnetic waves.We experimentally demonstrate an ultrathin and flexible polarization-controlled anisotropic coding metasurface that functions in the terahertz regime using specially designed coding elements.By encoding the elements with elaborately designed coding sequences(both 1-bit and 2-bit sequences),the x-and y-polarized waves can be anomalously reflected or independently diffused in three dimensions.The simulated far-field scattering patterns and near-field distributions are presented to illustrate the dual-functional performance of the encoded metasurface,and the results are consistent with the measured results.We further demonstrate the ability of the anisotropic coding metasurfaces to generate a beam splitter and realize simultaneous anomalous reflections and polarization conversions,thus providing powerful control of differently polarized electromagnetic waves.The proposed method enables versatile beam behaviors under orthogonal polarizations using a single metasurface and has the potential for use in the development of interesting terahertz devices.Shuo Liu Tie Jun Cui Quan Xu Di Bao Liangliang Du Xiang Wan Wen Xuan Tang Chunmei Ouyang Xiao Yang Zhou Hao Yuan Hui Feng Ma Wei Xiang Jiang Jiaguang Han Weili Zhang Qiang Cheng 2016Light(Science & Applications)2016,5,1:36

3Fractional Fourier domain hopped communication method based on chirp modulation for underwater acoustic channels显示文摘To improve the data rate of underwater acoustic frequency-hopped communications, frequency hopping is applied to different orders of fractional Fourier domain(Fr FD), to enable non-intrusive, bandwidth-limited acoustic communications.An Fr FD frequency-hopped communication method based on chirp modulation, namely multiple chirp shift keying-Fr FD hopping(MCSK-Fr FDH), is proposed for underwater acoustic channels. Validated by both simulations and experimental results, this method can reach a bandwidth efficiency twice more than conventional frequency-hopped methods with the same data rate and anti-multipath capability, suggesting that the proposed method achieves a better performance than the traditional frequencyhopped communication in underwater acoustic communication channels. 5Multiple locus genealogies and phenotypic characters reappraise the causal agents of apple ring rot in China显示文摘Apple ring rot inflicts severe economic losses in the main apple producing areas of East Asia.The causal agent of the disease has been variously identified as Macrophoma kuwatsukai,Physalospora piricola and Botryosphaeria berengeriana f.sp.piricola,although B.dothidea is currently the most widely accepted pathogen name.The taxonomic uncertainty has delayed research that is needed to manage effectively this destructive disease.In the present study,genealogical concordance phylogenetic species recognition(GCPSR)was applied to pathogenic fungal isolates from apple and pear from several locations in China,along with several reference isolates.Phylogenetic results based on sequences of four nuclear loci(ITS,EF-1α,HIS and HSP)revealed the existence of two species within the examined isolates.One includes an ex-epitype isolate of B.dothidea and the other includes an isolate that was previously designated as B.berengeriana f.sp.piricola.Morphologically,the latter taxon presented an appressed mycelial mat on PDA whereas B.dothidea displayed columns of aerial mycelia reaching the lids,and conidia of the latter species were longer than B.dothidea.Botryosphaeria dothidea had a faster growth rate than the latter taxon under relatively high temperatures.Pathogenicity tests showed that on pear stems the latter taxon caused large-scale cankers along with blisters whereas B.dothidea was non-pathogenic,but on apple shoots the two fungi induced large and small wart-like prominences,respectively.Overall,this cryptic species demonstrated sufficient genetic variations and biological differences from B.dothidea.As a result of taxonomic study,we described here the latter taxon in a new combination,Botryosphaeria kuwatsukai and designate an epitype.Both B.kuwatsukai and B.dothidea are considered to be the main causal agents for apple ring rot in China and Japan.Chao Xu Chunsheng Wang Liangliang Ju Rong Zhang Alan R.Biggs Eiji Tanaka Bingzhi Li Guangyu Sun 2015Fungal Diversity2015,,2:6
6Modified Dachengqi Tang improves decreased gastrointestinal motility in postoperative esophageal cancer patients显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To investigate the clinical effects of modified Dachengqi Tang(DCQT) on promoting gastrointestinal motility in post-operative esophageal cancer patients.METHODS:Sixty postoperative esophageal cancer patients were enrolled and randomly assigned to the modified treatment group or the control group(30 patients in each group).Patients in the treatment group were given DCQT made from decocted herbs and administered via nasojejunal tube at a dosage of 150 mL.Gastrointestinal motility was assessed by recording time for recovery of bowel sounds,flatus,defecation,and the total amount of gastric drainage during the first three postoperative days.Plasma motilin(MTL) and vasoactive intestinal peptide(VIP) were measured one hour before and three days after surgery.RESULTS:Compared with the control group,the times to first bowel sound,flatus,and defecation were significantly shorter and there was less gastric drainage in the treatment group(P < 0.01,P < 0.01,P < 0.01,and P < 0.05,respectively).In the treatment group,postoperative plasma MTL was significantly higher(P < 0.01) and VIP was significantly lower than those in the control group(P < 0.05).There was no difference found in either MTL or VIP from before to after operation in the treatment group(P > 0.05).MTL was significantly lower and VIP was higher postoperatively in the control group,compared to before surgery(P < 0.01).CONCLUSION:Modified DCQT effectively improved decreased gastrointestinal motility in postoperative esophageal cancer patients by increasing MTL and reducing VIP.Xu Zejun Xu Cuiping Ge Hongxia Li Yan Chu Liangliang Zhang Jie Cheng Kelin 2015Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2015,35,3:5

8Numerical simulation and experimental validation of gas–solid flow in the riser of a dense fluidized bed reactor显示文摘Gas–solid flow in the riser of a dense fluidized bed using Geldart B particles(sand),at high gas velocity (7.6–15.5 m/s)and with comparatively high solid flux(140–333.8 kg/m2 s),was investigated experimentally and simulated by computational fluid dynamics(CFD),both two-and three-dimensional and using the Gidaspow,O’Brien-Syamlal,Koch-Hill-Ladd and EMMS drag models.The results predicted by EMMS drag model showed the best agreement with experimental results.Calculated axial solids hold-up pro- files,in particular,are well consistent with experimental data.The flow structure in the riser was well represented by the CFD results,which also indicated the cause of cluster formation.Complex hydrody- namical behaviors of particle cluster were observed.The relative motion between gas and solid phases and axial heterogeneity in the three subzones of the riser were also investigated,and were found to be consistent with predicted flow structure.The model could well depict the difference between the two exit configurations used,viz.,semi-bend smooth exit and T-shaped abrupt exit.The numerical results indicate that the proposed EMMS method gives better agreement with the experimental results as compared with the Gidaspow,O’Brien-Syamlal,Koch-Hill-Ladd models.As a result,the proposed drag force model can be used as an efficient approach for the dense gas–solid two-phase flow.Xueyao Wang Fan Jiang xiang xu Shengdian Wang Xuezhi Wu Baoguo Fan Liangliang Liao Jiachang Wang Yunhan Xiao 2009Particuology2009,7,4:3
9Effects of swirler position on flame response and combustion instabilities显示文摘This study is concerned with the experimental and theoretical investigation of the combustion instabilities in a premixed swirl combustor.It is focused on the effects of the swirl mixing distance on the intrinsic thermoacoustic mode.The swirler as an origin of the swirling flow is also the source of the flow disturbance,which has effects on the flame response.The location of the swirler is varied in the experiment to study the effect on combustion instabilities and flame transfer functions.A low order model is built to analyze the thermoacoustic instabilities of the combustion system.The experimental results show that the ITA switches from an unstable state to a stable state as the swirl mixing distance changes with an increment of 15 mm;while the instability of the quarter-wave mode is not varied.The measured Flame Transfer Functions(FTFs)show that the gain curves of the frequency-dependent FTFs seem to be stretched or compressed with the modulation of the swirler position,which has effects on frequencies and instabilities of thermoacoustic modes.With the low order model,the effects of flame response on combustion instabilities are analyzed and the flame dominant nature of the ITA mode is confirmed.Liangliang XU Jianyi ZHENG Guoqing WANG Lei LI Fei QI 2022Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2022,35,3:2
10Structural and biochemical studies of RIG-I antiviral signaling显示文摘Retinoic acid-inducible gene I(RIG-I)is an important pattern recognition receptor that detects viral RNA and triggers the production of type-I interferons through the downstream adaptor MAVS(also called IPS-1,CARDIF,or VISA).A series of structural studies have elaborated some of the mechanisms of dsRNA recognition and activation of RIG-I.Recent studies have proposed that K63-linked ubiquitination of,or unanchored K63-linked polyubiquitin binding to RIG-I positively regulates MAVS-mediated antiviral signaling.Conversely phos-phorylation of RIG-I appears to play an inhibitory role in controlling RIG-I antiviral signal transduction.Here we performed a combined structural and biochemical study to further define the regulatory features of RIG-I signaling.ATP and dsRNA binding triggered dimeriza-tion of RIG-I with conformational rearrangements of the tandem CARD domains.Full length RIG-I appeared to form a complex with dsRNA in a 2:2 molar ratio.Com-pared with the previously reported crystal structures of RIG-I in inactive state,our electron microscopic struc-ture of full length RIG-I in complex with blunt-ended dsRNA,for the first time,revealed an exposed active conformation of the CARD domains.Moreover,we found that purified recombinant RIG-I proteins could bind to the CARD domain of MAVS independently of dsRNA,while S8E and T170E phosphorylation-mimick-ing mutants of RIG-I were defective in binding E3 ligase TRIM25,unanchored K63-linked polyubiquitin,and MAVS regardless of dsRNA.These findings suggested that phosphorylation of RIG inhibited downstream signaling by impairing RIG-I binding with polyubiquitin and its interaction with MAVS.Miao Feng Zhanyu Ding Liang Xu Liangliang Kong Wenjia Wang Shi Jiao Zhubing Shi Mark IGreene Yao Cong Zhaocai Zhou 2013Protein & Cell2013,4,2:2
11Rabies Virus Pseudotyped with CVS-N2C Glycoprotein as a Powerful Tool for Retrograde Neuronal Network Tracing显示文摘Efficient viral vectors for mapping and manipulating long-projection neuronal circuits are crucial in structural and functional studies of the brain. The SAD strain rabies virus with the glycoprotein gene deleted pseudotyped with the N2 C glycoprotein(SAD-RV(DG)-N2 C(G)) shows strong neuro-tropism in cell culture, but its in vivo efficiency for retrograde gene transduction and neuro-tropism have not been systematically characterized.We compared these features in different mouse brain regions for SAD-RV-N2 C(G) and two other widely-used retrograde tracers, SAD-RV(DG)-B19(G) and r AAV2-retro. We found that SAD-RV(DG)-N2 C(G) enhanced the infection efficiency of long-projecting neurons by^10 times but with very similar neuro-tropism, compared with SAD-RV(DG)-B19(G). On the other hand, SAD-RV(DG)-N2 C(G) had an infection efficiency comparable with r AAV2-retro, but a more restricted diffusion range, and broader tropism to different types and regions of longprojecting neuronal populations. 12Enzymatically-degradable hydrogel coatings on titanium for bacterial infection inhibition and enhanced soft tissue compatibility via a self-adaptive strategy显示文摘Ideal percutaneous titanium implants request both antibacterial ability and soft tissue compatibility.ZnO structure constructed on titanium has been widely proved to be helpful to combat pathogen contamination,but the biosafety of ZnO is always questioned.How to maintain the remarkable antibacterial ability of ZnO and efficiently reduce the corresponding toxicity is still challenging.Herein,a hybrid hydrogel coating was constructed on the fabricated ZnO structure of titanium,and the coating was proved to be enzymatically-degradable when bacteria exist.Then the antibacterial activity of ZnO was presented.When under the normal condition(no bacteria),the hydrogel coating was stable and tightly adhered to titanium.The toxicity of ZnO was reduced,and the viability of fibroblasts was largely improved.More importantly,the hydrogel coating provided a good buffer zone for cell ingrowth and soft tissue integration.The curbed Zn ion release was also proved to be useful to regulate fibroblast responses such as the expression of CTGF and COL-I.These results were also validated by in vivo studies.Therefore,this study proposed a valid self-adaptive strategy for ZnO improvement.Under different conditions,the sample could present different functions,and both the antibacterial ability and soft tissue compatibility were finely preserved.Jin Leng Ye He Zhang Yuan Bailong Tao Ke Li Chuanchuan Lin Kun Xu Maowen Chen Liangliang Dai Xuemin Li Tony Jun Huang Kaiyong Cai 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,12:2

16Monitoring fire regimes and assessing their driving factors in Central Asia显示文摘Relatively little is known about fire regimes in grassland and cropland in Central Asia.In this study,eleven variables of fire regimes were measured from 2001 to 2019 by utilizing the burned area and active fire product,which was obtained and processed from the GEE(Google Earth Engine)platform,to describe the incidence,inter-annual variability,peak month and size of fire in four land cover types(forest,grassland,cropland and bare land).Then all variables were clustered to define clusters of fire regimes with unique fire attributes using the K-means algorithm.Results showed that Kazakhstan(KAZ)was the most affected by fire in Central Asia.Fire regimes in cropland in KAZ had the frequent,large and intense characters,which covered large burned areas and had a long duration.Fires in grassland mainly occurred in central KAZ and had the small scale and high-intensity characters with different quarterly frequencies.Fires in forest were mainly distributed in northern KAZ and eastern KAZ.Although fires in grassland underwent a shift from more to less frequent from 2001 to 2019 in Central Asia,vigilance is needed because most fires in grassland occur suddenly and cause harm to humans and livestock.YIN Hanmin Jiapaer GULI JIANG Liangliang YU Tao Jeanine UMUHOZA LI Xu 2021Journal of Arid Land2021,13,5:1
17Dry friction damping mechanism of flexible microporous metal rubber based on cell group energy dissipation mechanism显示文摘Flexible microporous metal rubber (FMP-MR) is a high-damping material that dissipates energy by dry friction through internal spiral metal wires in contact with each other. However, the FMP-MR energy dissipation mechanism is not fully understood owing to its disordered grid interpenetrating structure. In this work, computer-aided preparation technology is used to accurately reconstruct the complex spiral network structure of FMP-MR multipoint random contact, and a cell group model with an energy dissipation mechanism is proposed to obtain the dynamic energy distribution of the contact friction in both space and time dimensions. By judging the effective contact point, a global displacement ablation phenomenon of hooked staggered porous materials is induced. The macro- and micro-equivalent frictions are introduced to effectively explain the characteristics of the strong energy dissipation in FMP-MR under fretting excitation. A real and effective damping hysteresis constitutive model is then constructed to dynamically capture the mapping relationship between the complex nonlinear topological structure effect of the materials and spatial random contact dry friction in real time. The results indicate that the contact behavior between turns of the FMP-MR wire follows a clear quasi-Gaussian distribution under an external load, forcing the topological results to change. The energy dissipation of the materials revealed peak energy consumption lagging behind the loading limit for a certain distance, which can be determined by the effective contact point and contact dry friction slip. The consistency between the quasi-static compression tests and constitutive curves of the model was quantitatively verified through residual analysis. The data demonstrated the differential behavior of the FMP-MR meso-structure to follow a phased growth law during loading with different action mechanisms in the guiding, main growth, and relaxation stages of the energy consumption displacement curve. 19Nanostructured Ni-MoCx:An efficient non-noble metal catalyst for the chemoselective hydrogenation of nitroaromatics显示文摘Catalysts for chemoselective hydrogenation are of vital importance for the synthesis of various important chemicals and intermediates.Herein we developed a simple method for preparing a highly efficient Ni-MoC_(x)nanocomposite catalyst via temperature-programmed carburization of a polyoxometalate precursor.X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning transmission electron microscopy(STEM),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),and X-ray absorption spectroscopy(XAS)analyses indicate that the resulting mesoporous nanocomposite catalyst is made up of well-dispersed metallic nickel particles embedded in a MoC_(x)matrix.This catalyst exhibits high activity and selectivity(>99%)in the hydrogenation of various substituted nitroaromatics to corresponding anilines.The high efficiency is attributed to the intimate contact of the constituents favoring electron transfer and hydrogen adsorption.Dihydrogen is physisorbed on the carbide support and dissociates on the nickel particles,as evidenced by Mo K-edge X-ray absorption near-edge structure(XANES)spectra,density functional theory(DFT),and hydrogen-deuterium exchange.The remarkable catalytic performance of the catalyst could be traced back to the synergistic interaction between the Ni particles and the carbide support.In-situ infrared spectroscopy and DFT simulations indicated that the adsorption/activation of the nitro group is favored compared to that of other substituents at the aromatic ring.In recyclability tests,the Ni-MoC_(x)nanocomposite showed no significant loss of catalytic performance in seven consecutive runs,indicating its robust nature.Yifei Zhang Zhiwen Li Jingjing Zhang Liangliang Xu Zhong-Kang Han Alfons Baiker Gao Li 2023Nano Research2023,16,7:1
