1Insight-HXMT observations of the first binary neutron star merger GW170817显示文摘Finding the electromagnetic(EM) counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star(BNS) merger,is critically important for gravitational wave(GW) astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. On Aug. 17, 2017,Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart,GRB 170817 A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope(HE) onboard Insight-HXMT(Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope) is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart(SSS17 a/AT2017 gfo) with very large collection area(~1000 cm^2) and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition,Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity(ToO) observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy(0.2-5 MeV) radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817 A. Meanwhile,Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints(~10^(-7) to 10^(-6) erg/cm^2/s) for both GRB170817 A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. 3Non-equilibrium thermodynamics analysis and its application in interfacial mass transfer显示文摘Interfacial transfer plays an important role in multi-phase chemical processes. However, it is difficult to describe the complex interfacial transport behavior by the traditional mass transfer model. In this paper, we describe an interfacial mass transfer model based on linear non-equilibrium thermodynamics for the analysis of the rate of interfacial transport. The interfacial transfer process rate J depends on the interface mass transfer coefficient K, interfacial area A and chemical potential gradient at the interface. Potassium compounds were selected as model systems. A model based on linear non-equilibrium thermo-dynamics was established in order to describe and predict the transport rate at the solid-solution interface. 4CO_2/N_2 separation using supported ionic liquid membranes with green and cost-effective [Choline][Pro]/PEG200 mixtures显示文摘The high price and toxicity of ionic liquids(ILs) have limited the design and application of supported ionic liquid membranes(SILMs) for CO_2 separation in both academic and industrial fields. In this work, [Choline][Pro]/polyethylene glycol 200(PEG200) mixtures were selected to prepare novel SILMs because of their green and costeffective characterization, and the CO_2/N_2 separation with the prepared SILMs was investigated experimentally at temperatures from 308.15 to 343.15 K. The temperature effect on the permeability, solubility and diffusivity of CO_2 was modeled with the Arrhenius equation. A competitive performance of the prepared SILMs was observed with high CO_2 permeability ranged in 343.3–1798.6 barrer and high CO_2/N_2 selectivity from 7.9 to 34.8.It was also found that the CO_2 permeability increased 3 times by decreasing the viscosity of liquids from 370 to38 m Pa·s. 5Methodology of non-equilibrium thermodynamics for kinetics research of CO_2 capture by ionic liquids显示文摘In this paper, the methodology of non-equilibrium thermodynamics is introduced for kinetics research of CO2 capture by ionic liquids, and the following three key scientific problems are proposed to apply the methodology in kinetics research of CO2 capture by ionic liquids: reliable thermodynamic models, interfacial transport rate description and accurate experimental flux. The obtaining of accurate experimental flux requires reliable experimental kinetics data and the effective transport area in the CO2 capture process by ionic liquids. Research advances in the three key scientific problems are reviewed systematically and further work is analyzed. 6Magnetocaloric effect in Er-Al-Co bulk metallic glasses显示文摘A series of Er-Al-Co bulk metallic glasses (BMGs) have been prepared by the copper mold casting method. The glass forming ability and magnetocaloric effect (MCE) for these alloys have been investigated. The second-order magnetic transition from para-magnetic to ferromagnetic states takes place at about 9 K. 7The Medium Energy X-ray telescope (ME) onboard the Insight-HXMT astronomy satellite显示文摘The Medium Energy X-ray telescope(ME) is one of the three main telescopes on board the Insight hard X-ray modulation telescope(Insight-HXMT) astronomy satellite. ME contains 1728 pixels of Si-PIN detectors sensitive in 5-30 ke V with a total geometrical area of 952 cm^2. The application specific integrated circuit(ASIC) chip, VA32TA6, is used to achieve low power consumption and low readout noise. The collimators define three kinds of field of views(FOVs) for the telescope, 1°×4°, 4°×4°,and blocked ones. Combination of such FOVs can be used to estimate the in-orbit X-ray and particle background components.The energy resolution of ME is ~3 ke V at 17.8 ke V(FWHM) and the time resolution is 255 μs. 8Monitor and control of neuronal activities with femtosecond pulse laser显示文摘Combined with the fluorescence labeling technique, two-photon microscopy excited with femtosecond pulse laser has become an important tool for neuroscience research. In this research, the calcium signals from neurons in rat cortex slice were monitored by a custom-built two-photon microscopy, and the spontaneous calcium signals and the pharmacological responses as well as the responses to femtosecond pulse laser stimulation were recorded. The results showed that the amplitude of the cal-cium signals increased in direct proportion to the corresponding electrical activities. Glutamate induced a calcium transient, but continuous application resulted in smaller response. Simultaneous monitoring of neuronal populations distinguished the neurons of different microcircuits. The femtosecond pulse laser induced local or global calcium signals in the pyramidal neurons. 11Effects of fibrous fillers on friction and wear properties of polytetrafluoroethylene composites under dry or wet conditions显示文摘The friction and wear behavior and mechanism as well as the mechanical properties of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) composites filled with potassium titanate whiskers (PTW) and short carbon fibers (CF) under dry, wet and alkaline conditions were investigated. Experiments indicated that owing to appropriate cooling and boundary lubricating effects, the filled PTFE composites showed much lower frictional coefficient and better wear resistance under alkaline than dry and wet sliding conditions. The wear resistance of carbon-fiber-filled PTFE was much better than that of potassium titanate-whisker-filled PTFE composites in water. Results also showed that the transfer film on counterpart rings was significantly hindered by water and alkali. 12Flow-resistance analysis of nano-confined fluids inspired from liquid nano-lubrication:A review显示文摘How to reduce flow resistance of nano-confined fluids to achieve a high flux is a new challenge for modern chemical engineering applications, such as membrane separation and nanofluidic devices. Traditional models are inapplicable to explain the significant differences in the flow resistance of different liquid–solid systems.On the other hand, friction reduction in liquid nano-lubrication has received considerable attention during the past decades. Both fields are exposed to a common scientific issue regarding friction reduction during liquid–solid relative motion at nanoscale. A promising approach to control the flow resistance of nano-confined fluids is to reference the factors affecting liquid nano-lubrication. In this review, two concepts of the friction coefficient derived from fluid flow and tribology were discussed to reveal their intrinsic relations. Recent progress on low or ultra-low friction coefficients in liquid nano-lubrication was summarized based on two situations. 16The Major Controlling Factors and Different Oolitic Shoal Reservoir Characteristics of the Triassic Feixianguan Formation,Eastern Longgang Area,NE Sichuan Basin,SW China显示文摘Based on comprehensive analyses of occurrence,petrological observation,pore structure and geochemistry,the different reservoir characteristics and reservoir evolutionary pathways between different oolitic shoal reservoir types of the Feixianguan Formation on the west side of the Kaijiang-Liangping Trough have been studied.There exist three stages of high-energy slope break belts in the Feixianguan period,the corresponding three stages of oolitic shoals gradually migrating in the direction of the trough.Three types of oolitic shoal reservoirs,namely,residual-oolitic dolomite,mold-oolitic dolomite and sparry oolitic limestone,were formed during sedimentary-diagenetic evolution,the pore types being intergranular dissolved pore,mold pore(or intragranular dissolved pore)and residual intergranular pore,respectively.The petrology,physical properties and pore structure of the different types of oolitic shoal reservoirs are quite different.Residual-oolitic dolomite reservoirs have the best quality,while sparry oolitic limestone reservoirs have the poorest.Combined with analyses of trace elements,rare earth elements and carbon-oxygen isotopes,it is suggested that the formation of residual-oolitic dolomite reservoirs is jointly controlled by penesaline seawater seepage-reflux dolomitization and hydrothermal dolomitization.Mold-pore oolitic dolomite reservoirs are controlled by penesaline seawater seepage-reflux dolomitization and meteoric water solution.The burial dissolution of organic acid not only further improves the reservoir qualities of previously formed oolitic dolomite reservoirs,but also preserves residual intergranular pores in the sparry oolitic limestone reservoirs.GU Yifan JIANG Yuqiang LEI Xiaohua CHEN Zhiyong ZHOU Lu FU Yonghong JIANG Zengzheng 2021Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2021,95,3:3
17A universal pipeline for mobile mRNA detection and insights into heterografting advantages under chilling stress显示文摘Heterografting has long been used to enhance the chilling tolerance of temperature-sensitive crops,including watermelon,whose mechanism is known to involve bidirectional long-distance mRNA movements.Despite several studies reporting on mobile mRNA(mb-mRNA)profiles in plants,accurate identification of mb-mRNAs is challenging owing to an array of technical problems.Here,we developed a bioinformatical pipeline that took most of the known technical concerns into consideration and is considered to be a universal tool for mb-mRNA detection in heterografts.By applying this pipeline to a commercial watermelon–bottle gourd heterografting system,we detected 130 and 1144 mb-mRNAs upwardly and 167 and 1051 mb-mRNAs downwardly transmitted under normal and chilling-stress conditions,respectively.Quantitative real-time PCR indicated a high accuracy rate(88.2%)of mb-mRNA prediction with our pipeline.We further revealed that the mobility of mRNAs was not associated with their abundance.Functional annotation and classification implied that scions may convey the stress signal to the rootstock,subsequently triggering energy metabolism reprogramming and abscisic acid-mediated stress responses by upward movement of effective mRNAs,ultimately leading to enhanced chilling tolerance.This study provides a universal tool for mb-mRNA detection in plant heterografting systems and novel insights into heterografting advantages under chilling stress.Ying Wang Lingping Wang Nailin Xing Xiaohua Wu Xinyi Wu Baogen Wang Zhongfu Lu Pei Xu Ye Tao Guojing Li Yuhong Wang 2020Horticulture Research2020,7,1:3
18Physicochemical properties and structure of fluid at nano-/micro-interface:Progress in simulation and experimental study显示文摘In modern chemical engineering processes, the involvement of solid/fluid interface is the most important component of process intensification techniques, such as confined membrane separation and catalysis. In the review, we summarized the research progress of the latest theoretical and experimental works to elucidate the contribution of interface to the fluid properties and structures at nano-and micro-scale. We mainly focused on water, alcohol aqueous solution, and ionic liquids, because they are classical systems in interfacial science and/or widely involved in the industrialization process. 19Optically Stimulated Luminescence(OSL) Chronology of the Dehenglong Landslide from Longyang Gorge to Liujia Gorge along Upper Yellow River, China显示文摘Giant landslides are common along the upper Yellow River from Longyang Gorge to Liujia Gorge, and some of them even blocked and dammed the upper Yellow River. Chronology is inevitable in studying the mechanism of giant landslides. Controversy exists about the chronology of those giant landslides, and some have not yet dated. The Dehenglong landslide is the largest one among them. In this study, OSL samples were collected from lacustrine silty sediments and loess directly overlying the landslide sediments, as well as fault sediments related to the landslide. This landslide yielded an age of 89 ± 8 ka, which is identical with the fault age of 73 ± 5 ka at two sigma errors. 20The design and synthesis of dextran-doxorubicin prodrug-based pH-sensitive drug delivery system for improving chemotherapy efficacy显示文摘Tumor cells show acidic conditions compared with normal cells,which further inspires scientist to build nanocarrier responsive to tumor microenvironment(TME)for enhancing tumor therapeutic efficacy.Here,we report a pH-sensitive and biocompatible polyprodrug based on dextran-doxorubicin(DOX)prodrug(DOXDT)for enhanced chemotherapy.Highdensity DOX component was covalently decorated on the nanocarrier and the drug molecules could be effectively released in the acidic tumor tissue/cells,improving chemotherapy efficacy.Specifically,a dextran-based copolymer was preliminarily prepared by one-step atom transfer radical polymerization(ATRP);then DOX was conjugated on the copolymer component via pH-responsive hydrazone bond.The structure of DOXDT can be well-controlled.The resulting DOXDT was able to further self-assemble into nanoscale micelles with a hydration diameter of about 32.4 nm,which presented excellent micellar stability.Compared to lipid-based drug delivery system,the DOXDT prodrug showed higher drug load capacity up to 23.6%.In addition,excellent stability and smaller size of the nanocarrier contributed to better tissue permeability and tumor suppressive effects in vivo.Hence,this amphipathic DOXDT prodrug is promising in the development of translational DOX formulations,which would be widely applied in cancer therapy.Xiaoli Zhang Tian Zhang Xianbin Ma Yajun Wang Yi Lu Die Jia Xiaohua Huang Jiucun Chen Zhigang Xu Feiqiu Wena 2020Asian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences2020,15,5:3
