1A rapid advice guideline for the diagnosis and treatment of 2019 novel coronavirus(2019-nCoV) infected pneumonia(standard version)显示文摘In December 2019, a new type viral pneumonia cases occurred in Wuhan, Hubei Province;and then named '2019 novel coronavirus(2019-nCoV)' by the World Health Organization(WHO) on 12 January 2020. For it is a never been experienced respiratory disease before and with infection ability widely and quickly, it attracted the world’s attention but without treatment and control manual. For the request from frontline clinicians and public health professionals of 2019-nCoV infected pneumonia management, an evidence-based guideline urgently needs to be developed. Therefore, we drafted this guideline according to the rapid advice guidelines methodology and general rules of WHO guideline development;we also added the first-hand management data of Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University. This guideline includes the guideline methodology, epidemiological characteristics, disease screening and population prevention, diagnosis, treatment and control(including traditional Chinese Medicine), nosocomial infection prevention and control, and disease nursing of the 2019-nCoV. Moreover, we also provide a whole process of a successful treatment case of the severe 2019-nCoV infected pneumonia and experience and lessons of hospital rescue for 2019-nCoV infections. 3Municipal wastewater treatment in China:Development history and future perspectives显示文摘China has the world's largest and still growing wastewater sector and water market,thus its future development will have profound influence on the world.The high-speed development of China's wastewater sector over the past 40 years has forged its global leading treatment capacity and innovation ability.However,many problems were left behind,including underdeveloped sewers and sludge disposal facilities,low sustainability of the treatment processes,questionable wastewater treatment plant(WWTP)effluent discharge standards,and lacking global thinking on harmonious development between wastewater management,human society and the nature.Addressing these challenges calls for fundamental changes in target design,policy and technologies.In this mini-review,we revisit the development history of China's municipal wastewater management and identify the remaining challenges.Also,we highlight the future needs of sustainable development and exploring China's own wastewater management path,and outlook the future from several aspects including targets of wastewater management,policies and technologies,especially the new concept WWTP.Furthermore,we envisage the establishment of new-generation WWTPs with the vision of turning WWTP from a site of pollutant removal into a plant of energy,water and fertilizer recovery and an integrated part urban ecology in China.Jiuhui Qu Hongchen Wang Kaijun Wang Gang Yu Bing Ke Han-Qing Yu Hongqiang Ren Xingcan Zheng Ji Li Wen-Wei Li Song Gao Hui Gong 2019Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2019,13,6:13

6Preliminary Study on Cytotoxic Effect of Biodegradation of Magnesium on Cancer Cells显示文摘Biodegradation of magnesium (Mg) based metals in body fluid can lead to a strong alkalinity as well as an increase of Mg2+ concentration in its surrounding environment. In vitro cytotoxic effects of the extracts of pure Mg with and without micro arc oxidation (MAO) coating on osteosarcoma U2-OS cells, a kind of bone cancer cells, were preliminarily studied, independently considering the increase of either alkalinity or Mg2+ concentration. The results indicated that the high alkalinity, i.e., a great increase of pH value, caused by the degradations of Mg with and without MAO coating in the culture medium all showed strong cytotoxic effects on U2-OS cells. However, the increase of Mg2+ concentration had no such cytotoxic effect. 7Modified FOLFIRINOX for unresectable locally advanced or metastatic gallbladder cancer,a comparison with GEMOX regimen显示文摘Background:The first-line chemotherapy regimen for advanced gallbladder cancer(GBC)is gemcitabine plus platinum(GP),despite its efficacy is limited.The current investigation is a retrospective study to compare the safety and efficacy between the modified FOLFIRINOX(mFOLFIRINOX)and gemcitabine plus oxaliplatin(GEMOX)as the first-line chemotherapy for unresectable locally advanced or metastatic GBC.Methods:The data of patients with unresectable locally advanced or metastatic GBC,who were treated with mFOLFIRINOX or GEMOX as the first-line therapy between April 2014 and April 2018 at Xinhua Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine,were retrieved.This retrospective study evaluated the clinical characteristics,survival outcomes and adverse events.Results:A total of 44 patients(n=25 in mFOLFIRINOX,n=19 in GEMOX)were included.There were no significant differences between groups in baseline characteristics.The median progression free survival(mPFS)was 5.0 months in the mFOLFIRINOX group and 2.5 months in the GEMOX group[P=0.021;hazard ratio(HR),0.499;95%CI,0.266 to 0.937].The median overall survival(mOS)was 9.5 months in the mFOLFIRINOX group and 7.0 months in the GEMOX group(P=0.019;HR,0.471;95%CI,0.239 to 0.929).Disease control rate(DCR)was 76.0%in the mFOLFIRINOX group and 47.4%in the GEMOX group(P=0.051).The rate of grade 3-4 adverse events was 48%in the mFOLFIRINOX group and 36.8%in the GEMOX group(P=0.459).The incidence of grade 3-4 neutropenia and diarrhea were more common in the mFOLFIRINOX group,while the incidence of grade 3-4 thrombocytopenia and peripheral neuropathy were more common in the GEMOX group.Conclusions:mFOLFIRINOX might improve the poor prognosis of unresectable locally advanced or metastatic GBC,and the results need to be further verified by prospective clinical studies.Xu-Ya Cui Xue-Chuan Li Jiu-Jie Cui Xiang-Song Wu Lu Zou Xiao-Ling Song Tai Ren Yi-Di Zhu Huai-Feng Li Yang Yang Ke Liu Xu-Sheng Han Zi-Yao Jia Wen-Guang Wu Xu-An Wang Wei Gong Li-Wei Wang Mao-Lan Li Ying-Bin Liu 2021Hepatobiliary Surgery and Nutrition2021,10,4:10
8Antibacterial Performance of a Cu-bearing Stainless Steel against Microorganisms in Tap Water显示文摘Tap water is one of the most commonly used water resources in our daily life. However, the increasing water contamination and the health risk caused by pathogenic bacteria, such as Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli have attracted more attention. The mutualism of different pathogenic bacteria may diminish antibacterial effect of antibacterial agents. It was found that materials used for making pipe and tap played one of the most important roles in promoting bacterial growth. This paper is to report the performance of an innovative type 304 Cu-bearing stainless steel(304Cu SS) against microbes in tap water. The investigation methodologies involved were means of heterotrophic plate count, contact angle measurements, scanning electron microscopy for observing the cell and subtract surface morphology,atomic absorption spectrometry for copper ions release study, and confocal laser scanning microscopy used for examining live/dead bacteria on normal 304 stainless steel and 304 Cu SS. It was found that the surface free energy varied after being immersed in tap water with polar component and Cu ions release.The results showed 304 Cu SS could effectively kill most of the planktonic bacteria(max 95.9% antibacterial rate), and consequently inhibit bacterial biofilms formation on the surface, contributing to the reduction of pathogenic risk to the surrounding environments.Mingjun Li Li Nan Dake Xu Guogang Ren Ke Yang 2015Journal of Materials Science & Technology2015,31,3:10

10Modeling assessment for ammonium nitrogen recovery from wastewater by chemical precipitation显示文摘Chemical precipitation to form magnesium ammonium phosphate(MAP) is an effective technology for recovering ammonium nitrogen(NH4+-N).In the present research,we investigated the thermodynamic modeling of the PHREEQC program for NH4+-N recovery to evaluate the effect of reaction factors on MAP precipitation.The case study of NH4+-N recovery from coking wastewater was conducted to provide a comparison.Response surface methodology(RSM) was applied to assist in understanding the relative significance of reaction factors and the interactive effects of solution conditions.Thermodynamic modeling indicated that the saturation index(SI) of MAP followed a polynomial function of pH.The SI of MAP increased logarithmically with the Mg2+/NH4+ molar ratio(Mg/N) and the initial NH4+-N concentration(CN),respectively,while it decreased with an increase in Ca2+/NH4+ and CO32?/NH4+ molar ratios(Ca/N and CO32?/N),respectively.The trends for NH4+-N removal at different pH and Mg/N levels were similar to the thermodynamic modeling predictions.The RSM analysis indicated that the factors including pH,Mg/N,CN,Ca/N,(Mg/N)×(CO32?/N),(pH)2,(Mg/N)2,and(CN)2 were significant.Response surface plots were useful for understanding the interaction effects on NH4+-N recovery.Tao Zhang Qiucheng Li Lili Ding Hongqiang Ren Ke Xu Yonggang Wu Dong Sheng 2011Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,6:8
11Resurrection of the Genus Leptomantis, with Description of a New Genus to the Family Rhacophoridae(Amphibia:Anura)显示文摘Genus Rhacophorus Kuhl and Van Hasselt, 1 822 is one of the most diverse genera of the family Rhacophoridae, and its taxonomy of genus Rhacophorus faces major challenges because of rapidly described new species and complex interspecies relations. In this study, we investigate the generic taxonomy within the genus Rhacophorus based on 1 972 bp of mitochondrial genes(12S rRNA, tRNA-val and 16S rRNA), containing 102 sequences from 58 species. The results reveal three well-supported and highly diverged matrilines that correspond with morphological characteristics and geographic distribution. 12Inhibition effect of magnetic field on nitrous oxide emission from sequencing batch reactor treating domestic wastewater at low temperature显示文摘This study aims to investigate the effect of a magnetic field on nitrous oxide(N2O)emission from a sequencing batch reactor treating low-strength domestic wastewater at low temperature(10℃).After running for 124 days in parallel,results indicated that the conversion rate of N2O for a magnetic field-sequencing batch reactor(MF-SBR)decreased by34.3%compared to that of a conventional SBR(C-SBR).Meanwhile,the removal efficiencies for total nitrogen(TN)and ammonia nitrogen(NH4-N)of the MF-SBR were 22.4%and 39.5%higher than those of the C-SBR.High-throughput sequencing revealed that the abundances of AOB(Nitrosomonas),NOB(Nitrospira)and denitrifiers(Zoogloea),which could reduce N2O to N2,were promoted significantly in the MF-SBR.Enzyme activities(Nir)and gene abundances(nos Z nir S and nir K)for denitrification in the MF-SBR were also notably higher compared to C-SBR.Our study shows that application of a magnetic field is a useful approach for inhibiting the generation of N2O and promoting the nitrogen removal efficiency by affecting the microbial characteristics of sludge in an SBR treating domestic wastewater at low temperature.Dan Xu Hongmin Ji Hongqiang Ren Jinju Geng Kan Li Ke Xu 2020Journal of Environmental Sciences2020,32,1:7
13Cytotoxic Effect on Osteosarcoma MG-63 Cells by Degradation of Magnesium显示文摘Biocompatible and biodegradable magnesium(Mg)based metals have attracted great interest for use in orthopedic implants and devices.Based on our previous study that Mg with and without micro-arc oxidation(MAO)coating showed obvious cytotoxic effect on tumor cells due to the increase of pH value during the degradation of Mg,this study further evaluated the cytotoxic effect of Mg and MAO coated Mg on osteosarcoma(MG-63)cells by analyzing the cell adhesion,morphology and number through observation of scanning electron microscope,as well as live/dead staining,lactate dehydrogenase(LDH)activity and 4,6-diamidino-2-phenylindole(DAPI)assay.The results indicated that,compared to titanium,Mg could strongly inhibit the cell adherence,morphology and number of MG-63 on the surface of the naked Mg,whereas the MAO coated Mg showed relative weak cytotoxic effect on MG-63 cells,expecting that magnesium based metals with suitable coating can be designed to be applied as tumor prosthesis in the clinical practice.Mei Li Ling Ren LiHua Li Peng He GuoBo Lan Yu Zhang Ke Yang 2014Journal of Materials Science & Technology2014,30,9:7

15Dark matter direct search sensitivity of the PandaX-4T experiment显示文摘The Panda X-4T experiment, a 4-ton scale dark matter direct detection experiment, is being planned at the China Jinping Underground Laboratory. In this paper we present a simulation study of the expected background in this experiment. In a 2.8-ton fiducial mass and the signal region between 1-10 keV electron equivalent energy, the total electron recoil background is found to be 4.9 × 10^(-5) kg^(-1) d^(-1) keV^(-1). The nuclear recoil background in the same region is 2.8 × 10^(-7) kg^(-1) d^(-1) keV^(-1). The new species is morphologically most similar and genetically most closely related to O. cheni Zhao, 1999 and O. latouchi(Boulenger, 1899), but possesses considerable genetic divergence(pdistance 5.1%–16.7%) and can be differentiated from all other congeners by a combination of the following morphological characters:(1) body size large(total length 514–586 mm) and strongly built;(2) dorsal scale rows 17 throughout, feebly keeled anteriorly and moderately keeled posteriorly;(3) ventral scales 147–152, subcaudal scales 54–62;(4) preocular absent, loreal elongated and touching orbit;(5) supralabials 8–9, fifth and sixth entering obit;(6) anterior temporals short, length 1.74–2.04 times longer than width;(7) maxillary teeth subequal, 28–30;(8) dorsal surface of head with distinct irregular yellow stripes and markings edged with ochre;(9) body with clear black and yellow longitudinal streaks, partly fused to several lighter patches or thicker stripes anteriorly; and(10) venter pale yellow, with asymmetric blackish speckles along outer margin. 17Effects of combined chemical design(Cu addition) and topographical modification(SLA) of Ti-Cu/SLA for promoting osteogenic, angiogenic and antibacterial activities显示文摘Cu has been proved to possess various beneficial biological activities, while sandblasting and acid etching(SLA) is widely used to modify the commercial dental implant in order to improve osseointegration. Based on the above, a novel antimicrobial dental implant material, Ti-Cu alloy, was treated with SLA, to combine chemical design(Cu addition) and topographical modification(SLA). In this work, the effects of SLA treated Ti-Cu alloys(Ti-Cu/SLA) on osteogenesis, angiogenesis and antibacterial properties were evaluated from both in vitro and in vivo tests, and Ti/SLA and Ti-Cu(without SLA) were served as control groups. Benefiting by the combined effects of chemical design(Cu addition) and micro-submicron hybrid structures(SLA),Ti-Cu/SLA had significantly improved inhibitory effects on oral anaerobic bacteria(P. gingivalis and S.mutans) and could induce upregulation of osteogenic-related and angiogenic-related genes expression in vitro. More importantly, in vivo studies also demonstrated that Ti-Cu/SLA implants had wonderful biological performance. In the osseointegration model, Ti-Cu/SLA implant promoted osseointegration via increasing peri-implant bone formation and presenting good bone-binding, compared to Ti/SLA and Ti-Cu implants. Additionally, in the peri-implantitis model, Ti-Cu/SLA effectively resisted the bone resorption resulted from bacterial infection and meanwhile promoted osseointegration. 18Effects of Environmental Temperature on the Regeneration Frequency of the Immature Embryos of Wheat(Triticum aestivum L.)显示文摘The immature embryos(IEs) of wheat are the most widely used tissues for in vitro culture and genetic transformation due to its high regeneration competency. However, this explant can only be maintained in 4°C daily cooler for a short period time for its use in plant tissue culture or transformation experiments. This study aimed to investigate the effects of environmental temperature, cryopreservation storage temperature, and heat shock culture(HSC) temperature on the regeneration frequency of wheat IEs. Results indicated that environmental temperature significantly affected the induction of embryonic calli. The optimum total accumulated temperature(TAT) during the time of anthesis and sampling for regeneration of these tissues was around 280°C for spring wheat type cv. CB037 and approximately 300°C for winter wheat type cv. Kenong 199. Regeneration ability obviously declined when the highest environmental temperature was over 35°C for 1 d or a high temperature between 30 and 33°C lasted for 5 d during anthesis and sampling. This finding was verified by culturing the freshly isolated IEs under different temperatures from 29 to 37°C in different controlled growth incubators for 5 d; the IEs almost completely lost regeneration ability when the temperature rose to 37°C. Cryopreservation of-20°C caused the wheat samples lost ability of producing callus or embryonic callus in a few days, and cryopreservation of-10°C more than 10 d made the regeneration potential of the tissues dramatically declined. Comparatively, the temperature that best maintained high regeneration ability was-5°C, at which the materials can be maintained for around 1 mon. In addition, the preservation of the immature samples at-5 or-10°C inhibited the direct germination of the IEs, avoiding the embryo axis removing process.
