1Minimal invasive microscopic tooth preparation in esthetic restoration: a specialist consensus显示文摘By removing a part of the structure,the tooth preparation provides restorative space,bonding surface,and finish line for various restorations on abutment.Preparation technique plays critical role in achieving the optimal result of tooth preparation.With successful application of microscope in endodontics for>30 years,there is a full expectation of microscopic dentistry.However,as relatively little progress has been made in the application of microscopic dentistry in prosthodontics,the following assumptions have been proposed:Is it suitable to choose the tooth preparation technique under the naked eye in the microscopic vision?Is there a more accurate preparation technology intended for the microscope?To obtain long-term stable therapeutic effects,is it much easier to achieve maximum tooth preservation and retinal protection and maintain periodontal tissue and oral function health under microscopic vision?Whether the microscopic prosthodontics is a gimmick or a breakthrough in obtaining an ideal tooth preparation should be resolved in microscopic tooth preparation.This article attempts to illustrate the concept,core elements,and indications of microscopic minimally invasive tooth preparation,physiological basis of dental pulp,periodontium and functions involved in tool preparation,position ergonomics and visual basis for dentists,comparison of tooth preparation by naked eyes and a microscope,and comparison of different designs of microscopic minimally invasive tooth preparation techniques.Furthermore,a clinical protocol for microscopic minimally invasive tooth preparation based on target restorative space guide plate has been put forward and new insights on the quantity and shape of microscopic minimally invasive tooth preparation has been provided.Haiyang Yu Yuwei Zhao Junying Li Tian Luo Jing Gao Hongchen Liu Weicai Liu Feng Liu Ke Zhao Fei Liu Chufan Ma Juergen MSetz Shanshan Liang Lin Fan Shanshan Gao Zhuoli Zhu Jiefei Shen Jian Wang Zhimin Zhu Xuedong Zhou 2019International Journal of Oral Science2019,11,4:25
2Municipal wastewater treatment in China:Development history and future perspectives显示文摘China has the world's largest and still growing wastewater sector and water market,thus its future development will have profound influence on the world.The high-speed development of China's wastewater sector over the past 40 years has forged its global leading treatment capacity and innovation ability.However,many problems were left behind,including underdeveloped sewers and sludge disposal facilities,low sustainability of the treatment processes,questionable wastewater treatment plant(WWTP)effluent discharge standards,and lacking global thinking on harmonious development between wastewater management,human society and the nature.Addressing these challenges calls for fundamental changes in target design,policy and technologies.In this mini-review,we revisit the development history of China's municipal wastewater management and identify the remaining challenges.Also,we highlight the future needs of sustainable development and exploring China's own wastewater management path,and outlook the future from several aspects including targets of wastewater management,policies and technologies,especially the new concept WWTP.Furthermore,we envisage the establishment of new-generation WWTPs with the vision of turning WWTP from a site of pollutant removal into a plant of energy,water and fertilizer recovery and an integrated part urban ecology in China.Jiuhui Qu Hongchen Wang Kaijun Wang Gang Yu Bing Ke Han-Qing Yu Hongqiang Ren Xingcan Zheng Ji Li Wen-Wei Li Song Gao Hui Gong 2019Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2019,13,6:13

4Aeration optimization through operation at low dissolved oxygen concentrations:Evaluation of oxygen mass transfer dynamics in different activated sludge systems显示文摘In wastewater treatment plants(WWTPs)using the activated sludge process,two methods are widely used to improve aeration efficiency — use of high-efficiency aeration devices and optimizing the aeration control strategy. Aeration efficiency is closely linked to sludge characteristics(such as concentrations of mixed liquor suspended solids(MLSS)and microbial communities)and operating conditions(such as air flow rate and operational dissolved oxygen(DO)concentrations). Moreover,operational DO is closely linked to effluent quality. This study,which is in reference to WWTP discharge class A Chinese standard effluent criteria,determined the growth kinetics parameters of nitrifiers at different DO levels in small-scale tests. Results showed that the activated sludge system could meet effluent criteria when DO was as low as 0.3 mg/L,and that nitrifier communities cultivated under low DO conditions had higher oxygen affinity than those cultivated under high DO conditions,as indicated by the oxygen half-saturation constant and nitrification ability. Based on nitrifier growth kinetics and on the oxygen mass transfer dynamic model(determined using different air flow rate(Q′_(air))and mixed liquor volatile suspended solids(MLVSS)values),theoretical analysis indicated limited potential for energy saving by improving aeration diffuser performance when the activated sludge system had low oxygen consumption; however,operating at low DO and low MLVSS could significantly reduce energy consumption. 6Microbial diversity in the hydrate-containing and-free surface sediments in the Shenhu area, South China Sea显示文摘Microbial diversity in the hydrate-containing(sites SH3B and SH7B)and-free(sites SH1B,SH5B,SH5C)sediments collected from the Shenhu area of the South China Sea(SCS)was investigated using 16S r RNA gene phylogenetic analysis.The phylogenetic results indicate difference in microbial communities between hydrate-containing and-free sediments.At the gas hydrate-containing sites,bacterial communities were dominated by Deltaproteobacteria(30.5%),and archaeal communities were dominated by Miscellaneous Crenarchaeotic Group(33.8%);In contrast,Planctomycetes was the major group(43.9%)in bacterial communities,while Marine Benthic Group-D(MBG-D)(32.4%)took up the largest proportion in the archaeal communities.Moreover,the microbial communities have characteristics different from those in other hydrate-related sediments around the world,indicating that the presence of hydrates can affect the microbial distribution.In addition,the microbial community composition in the studied sediments has its own uniqueness,which may result from co-effect of geochemical characteristics and presence/absence of hydrate.Lu Jiao Xin Su Yuanyuan Wang Hongchen Jiang Yong Zhang Fang Chen 2015Geoscience Frontiers2015,6,4:9
7Analysis of key microbial community during the start-up of anaerobic ammonium oxidation process with paddy soil as inoculated sludge显示文摘A sequencing batch reactor(SBR)-anaerobic ammonium oxidation(anammox) system was started up with the paddy soil as inoculated sludge. The key microbial community structure in the system along with the enrichment time was investigated by using molecular biology methods(e.g., high-throughput 16 S r RNA gene sequencing and quantitative PCR). Meanwhile,the influent and effluent water quality was continuously monitored during the whole start-up stage. The results showed that the microbial diversity decreased as the operation time initially and increased afterwards, and the microbial niches in the system were redistributed. The anammox bacterial community structure in the SBR-anammox system shifted during the enrichment, the most dominant anammox bacteria were Candidatus Jettenia. 8Microbial diversity accumulates in a downstream direction in the Three Gorges Reservoir显示文摘Organic and inorganic materials migrate downstream and have important roles in regulating environmental health in the river networks.However,it remains unclear whether and how a mixture of materials(i.e.,microbial species)from various upstream habitats contribute to microbial community coalescence upstream of a dam.Here we track the spatial variation in microbial abundance and diversity in the Three Gorges Reservoir based on quantitative PCR and 16 S rRNA gene high-throughput sequencing data.We further quantitatively assess the relative contributions of microbial species from mainstem,its tributaries,and the surrounding riverbank soils to the area immediately upstream of the Three Gorges Dam(TGD).We found an increase of microbial diversity and the convergent microbial distribution pattern in areas immediately upstream of TGD,suggesting this area become a new confluence for microbial diversity immigrating from upstream.Indeed,the number of shared species increased from upstream to TGD but unique species decreased,indicating immigration of various sources of microbial species overwhelms local environmental conditions in structuring microbial community close to TGD.By quantifying the sources of microbial species close to TGD,we found little contribution from soils as compared to tributaries,especially for sites closer to TGD,suggesting tributary microbes have greater influence on microbial diversity and environmental health in the Three Gorges Reservoir.Collectively,our results suggest that tracking microbial geographic origin and evaluating accumulating effects of microbial diversity shed light on the ecological processes in microbial communities and provide information for regulating aquatic ecological health.Shang Wang Weiguo Hou Hongchen Jiang Liuqin Huang Hailiang Dong Shu Chen Bin Wang Yongcan Chen Binliang Lin Ye Deng 2021Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,3:7
9A 12-kyr record of microbial branched and isoprenoid tetraether index in Lake Qinghai,northeastern Qinghai-Tibet Plateau:Implications for paleoclimate reconstruction显示文摘Branched and Isoprenoid Tetraether(BIT) index was considered as a proxy for terrestrial organic matter input in lake sediments, based on the assumption that branched glycerol dialkyl glycerol tetraethers(b GDGTs) are mainly derived from terrestrial soils. However, mounting evidences have showed that the in situ production of b GDGTs is widespread in lakes, challenging BIT as a reliable terrestrial input proxy. Recently, BIT has been proven to be a reliable proxy for paleohydrology in a small crater lake(Lake Challa) in accordance with a different mechanism. However, the response of BIT to paleohydrology variation may differ for different lakes. In this study, we investigate the variations in the BIT index and the concentrations of its related GDGTs in a 12-ka sediment core from Lake Qinghai, in combination with our previous results for surface sediments. We find that variations in BIT strongly depend on the concentration of crenarchaeol in both surface and ancient sediments of this lake, whereas b GDGT concentration varies much less remarkably. Considering that crenarchaeol production is positively correlated with water depth in Lake Qinghai, water depth may exert negative control on the BIT index in this lake. This case is inconsistent with the positive relationship between BIT and lake levels or rainfall intensity reported for Lake Challa, suggesting that the response of BIT to local paleohydrology is site specific in lacustrine systems. 16Seasonal Interaction of River Water-Groundwater-Salt Lake Brine and Its Influence on Water-Salt Balance in the Nalenggele River Catchment in Qaidam Basin,NW China显示文摘Identifying interactions among river water,groundwater and salt lake brine is important for sustainable exploitation of brine mineral resources.In this study,we investigated the water exchange rate in dry and wet seasons,and assessed the influence of seasonal water exchange on brine concentration and crystallization process in the Nalenggele(NLGL)catchment of Qaidam Basin,China.The results show that the surface water infiltration and groundwater recharge rates in the wet season were 2.81×10^(-3)and 1.15×10^(-3)m^(3)/(s·m)in upstream,1.63×10^(-2)and 1.53×10^(-2)m^(3)/(s·m)in midstream,and 2.83×10^(-4)and 6.82×10^(-5)m^(3)/(s·m)in downstream,respectively;while their counterparts in the dry season were 9.81×10^(-4)and 5.05×10^(-4)m^(3)/(s·m)in upstream,and 8.34×10^(-3)and 7.78×10^(-3)m^(3)/(s·m)in midstream,respectively.The water exchange strongly influenced brine concentration and crystallinzation process,with brine chemistry belonging to 3K_(2)SO_(4)·Na_(2)SO_(4) and KCl types in wet and dry seasons,respectively.The strong water exchange in wet season destroyed the water-salt balance,while the low water exchange rate in dry season facilitated preparation of KCl products.Jibin Han Jianxin Xu Lei Yi Zheng Chang Jianping Wang Haizhou Ma Baoyun Zhang Hongchen Jiang 2022Journal of Earth Science2022,33,5:3
17Shape description matrix and its applications to color-image retrieval and recognition显示文摘Shape description matrix (SDM) describing regional pixel distribution characteristics of images is defined, with both radial and angular distribution messages taken into account to offer a comprehensive and exact description of the shape characteristics even upon a blurred edge. Using this SDM, a general color histogram (GCH) is developed. 18A MXene-functionalized paper-based electrochemical immunosensor for label-free detection of cardiac troponin I显示文摘Convenient,rapid,and accurate detection of cardiac troponin I(cTnI)is crucial in early diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction(AMI).A paper-based electrochemical immunosensor is a promising choice in this field,because of the flexibility,porosity,and cost-efficacy of the paper.However,paper is poor in electronic conductivity and surface functionality.Herein,we report a paper-based electrochemical immunosensor for the label-free detection of cTnI with the working electrode modified by MXene(Ti_(3)C_(2))nanosheets.In order to immobilize the bio-receptor(anti-cTnI)on the MXene-modified working electrode,the MXene nanosheets were functionalized by aminosilane,and the functionalized MXene was immobilized onto the surface of the working electrode through Nafion.The large surface area of the MXene nanosheets facilitates the immobilization of antibodies,and the excellent conductivity facilitates the electron transfer between the electrochemical species and the underlying electrode surface.As a result,the paper-based immunosensor could detect cTnI within a wide range of 5-100 ng/mL with a detection limit of 0.58 ng/mL.The immunosensor also shows outstanding selectivity and good repeatability.Our MXene-modified paper-based electrochemical immunosensor enables fast and sensitive detection of cTnI,which may be used in real-time and cost-efficient monitoring of AMI diseases in clinics.Li Wang Yufeng Han Hongchen Wang Yaojie Han Jinhua Liu Gang Lu Haidong Yu 2021Journal of Semiconductors2021,42,9:3
19Conductive photo-thermal responsive bifunctional hydrogel system with self-actuating and self-monitoring abilities显示文摘Despite enormous efforts in actuators,most researches are only limited to various actuation behaviors and demonstrations of soft materials.It has not yet been reported to capture and monitor its movement status in an invisible environment.Therefore,it is of great significance to develop a self-sensing and self-actuating dual-function hydrogel actuator system to realize real-time monitoring.Here,we report a bifunctional hydrogel system with self-actuating and self-monitoring abilities,which combines the functions of photothermal actuation and electrical resistance sensing into a single material.The bilayer tough conductive hydrogel synthesized by unconventional complementary concentration recombination and cryogenic freezing technique presents a dense conductive network and high-porosity structure,achieving high toughness at 190.3 kPa of tensile strength,high stretchability(164.3%strain),and the toughness dramatically(1,471.4 kJ·m^(−3)).The working mechanism of the monitoring and self-sensing system is accomplished through the integrated monitoring device of surface temperature–bending angle–electron current,to solve the problem of not apperceiving actuator motion state when encountering obstacles in an invisible environment.We demonstrated for the first time a photothermal actuator’s motion of a football player and goalkeeper to finish the penalty and a soft actuator hand,which can achieve the action of sticking to grab and release under photo-thermal actuation.When connected to the control closed circuit,the actuator realized closed-loop monitoring and sensing feedback.The development of bifunctional hydrogel systems may bring new opportunities and ideas in the fields of material science,circuit technology,sensors,and mechanical engineering.Neng Chen Yang Zhou Yinping Liu Yuanyuan Mi Sisi Zhao Wang Yang Sai Che Hongchen liu FengJiang Chen Chong Xu Guang Ma Xue Peng Yongfeng Li 2022Nano Research2022,15,8:3
20Identification and characterization of soybean dreg soluble dietary fibre by combination of extrusion pre-treatment and enzymatic modification显示文摘OBJECTIVES:Soybean dreg is a by-product of soy milk processing,which contains high levels of soluble dietary fibre(SDF).In this study,we aimed to provide comprehensive processes of pre-treated extrusion for the improving structure and properties of soybean dreg soluble dietary fibre(SDSDF),which would be a valuable approach to enhance physiological activity.METHODS:Here,we characteristic the functional role of SDSDF employing to extrusion pretreatment.Soybean dregs were pre-treated using the twin screw extrusion method followed by enzymatic modification using neutral protease,α-amylase,glucoamylase,and cellulose to produce SDSDF.The physical properties and antioxidant activity of SDSDF were investigated.RESULTS:The morphology and crystal structure of SDSDF were observed that,through extrusion processing and enzymatic modification,the SDSDF yield increased by 106.28%.Moreover,the surface structure showed block-shaped or reticular formations in the extruded SDSDF,and the size of block-shaped cells was about 10μm.Infrared spectroscopic analysis showed that a characteristic absorption peak of polysaccharide appeared at 1631 cm−1 during extrusion processing.However,after extrusion processing,decreased absorption peaks were observed for the extruded SDSDF.Furthermore,XRD analysis showed that the 2θdiffraction peak changed at 24.16°for the extruded SDSDF.CONCLUSIONS:The overall findings suggest that the water holding capacity(WHC),oil holding capacity(OHC),expansibility,and the water solubility were significantly decreased in extruded SDSDF.In addition,the scavenging ability of 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl(DPPH),-OH,O_(2)^(-),and the total reducing power were significantly improved,indicating that beneficial changes had taken place in the crystal structure of cellulose or hemicellulose to improve the physiological activity in extruded SDSDF.Min Qu Yujia Liu Guang Zhang Sophia Jun Xue Hongchen Fan Yan Wang Shiyou Yu 2017Food Quality and Safety2017,1,2:3
