| 1 | Endoscopic submucosal dissection for premalignant lesions and noninvasive early gastrointestinal cancers显示文摘AIM: To investigate the indication, feasibility, safety, and clinical utility of endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) in the management of various gastrointestinal pathologies. METHODS: The medical records of 60 consecutive patients (34 female, 26 male) who underwent ESD at the gastroenterology department of Kocaeli University from 2006-2010 were examined. Patients selected for ESDhad premalignant lesions or non-invasive early cancers of the gastrointestinal tract and had endoscopic and histological diagnoses. Early cancers were considered to be confined to the submucosa, with no lymph node involvement by means of computed tomography and endosonography. RESULTS: Sixty ESD procedures were performed. The indications were epithelial lesions (n = 39) (33/39 adenoma with high grade dysplasia, 6/39 adenoma with low grade dysplasia), neuroendocrine tumor (n = 7), cancer (n = 7) (5/7 early colorectal cancer, 2/7 early gastric cancer), granular cell tumor (n = 3), gastrointestinal stromal tumor (n = 2), and leiomyoma (n = 2). En bloc and piecemeal resection rates were 91.6% (55/60) and 8.3% (5/60), respectively. Complete and incomplete resection rates were 96.6% (58/60) and 3.3% (2/60), respectively. Complications were major bleeding [n = 3 (5%)] and perforations [n = 5 (8.3%)] (4 colon, 1 stomach). Two patients with colonic perforations and two patients with submucosal lymphatic and microvasculature invasion (1 gastric carcinoid tumor, 1 colonic adenocarcinoma) were referred to surgery. During a mean follow-up of 12 mo, 1 patient with adenoma with high grade dysplasia underwent a second ESD procedure to resect a local recurrence. CONCLUSION: ESD is a feasible and safe method for treatment of premalignant lesions and early malignant gastrointestinal epithelial and subepithelial lesions. | 3 | Intraperitoneal dedifferentiated liposarcoma:A case report显示文摘Dedifferentiated liposarcoma is a variant of liposarcoma with a more aggressive course. Mutations of the p53 gene have been found in different types of soft tissue sarcoma. It is generally accepted that p53 mutations in human malignant tumors are often related to a poor prognosis. In our case, analysis of p53 gene mutation in tumor samples was performed. p53 gene mutation was observed in dedifferentiated tumor tissue samples but not in well-differentiated tumor tissue samples. It has been reported that p53 gene mutation occurs most commonly in the retroperitoneum and rarely in other anatomic locations. | 17 | Ethnobotanical survey of medicinal plants traded in herbal markets of Kahramanmaras¸显示文摘Most people in the world still use medicinal plants to treat and prevent disease.In Anatolia,studies have shown that people have used plants for centuries to treat many diseases.Herbal markets play an important role in the supply of medicinal plants and the transmission of cultural heritage.In this study,we investigated the traditional uses of medicinal plants traded in Kahramanmaras¸herbal markets.We also analyzed the threats that may arise from the use of medicinal plants and the measures that can be taken to protect these plants.For these purposes,ethnomedicinal data were collected using semistructured and open-ended questionnaires of herbalists and local people.Ethnobotanical indices(e.g.,Relative Frequency of Citation,Use Value,Relative Importance,and Informant Consensus Factor)were used to quantify the use and cultural importance of medicinal plants sold at Kahramanmaras¸herbal markets.We identified 62 taxa(11 imported)of plants that are used in traditional folk medicines.The top three plant taxa sold per year by herbalists at Kahramanmaras¸herbal markets are Licorice(Glycyrrhiza glabra;140 kg),Thyme(Thymus sp.;109 kg),and Carob(Ceratonia siliqua;106.5 kg).The plant parts and mode of utilization used most are leaves(28 reports)and infusion(36 reports),respectively.The highest ICF value was detected for endocrine system ailments(0.78),and the next highest two values were lymphatic system(0.75)and respiratory system ailments(0.72).We determined that Urtica dioica,G.glabra,Thymus sp.,Mentha x piperita have widely traditional uses,with high ethnobotanical index values and use reports.In addition,according to IUCN criteria,26 of 62 taxa identified in the research are under threat to various degrees on a global scale. | Seyran Palabas¸Uzun Cennet Koca | 2020 | Plant Diversity2020，42，6： | 1 |
