1Schistosoma japonicum infection induces macrophage polarization显示文摘The role of macrophages(Mφ)as the first line of host defense is well accepted.These cells play a central role in orchestrating crucial functions during schistosomal infection.Thus,understanding the functional diversity of these cells in the process of infection as well as the mechanisms underlying these events is crucial for developing disease control strategies.In this study,we adopted a Mφpolarization recognition system.Ml macrophage was characterized by expressing CD16/32,IL-12 and iNOS.M2 macrophage was characterized by expressing CD206,IL-10 and arg-1.In vivo(mouse peritoneal macrophages of different infection stages were obtained)and in vitro(different 5.japonicum antigens were used to stimulate RAW264.7)were characterized by using the above mentioned system.NCA and ACA stimulated RAW264.7 express significantly higher levels of IL-12 while significantly higher levels of IL-10 were detected after soluble egg antigen(SEA)stimulation.The results showed that dramatic changes of antigen in the microenvironment before and after egg production led to macrophage polarization.Furthermore,through TLR blocking experiments,the TLR4 signaling pathway was found to play a role in the process of macrophage polarization toward Ml.Our data suggest that macrophage polarization during S.japonicum infection had significant effects on host immune responses to S.japonicum.Jingwei Xu Hao Zhang Lin Chen Donghui Zhang Minjun Ji Haiwei Wu Guanling Wu 2014The Journal of Biomedical Research2014,28,4:20
2Soil salt leaching under different irrigation regimes: HYDRUS-1D modelling and analysis显示文摘Field irrigation experiments were conducted in the Hetao Irrigation District of Inner Mongolia,China,to study the effects of irrigation regimes on salt leaching in the soil profile.The data were used to calibrate and validate the HYDRUS-1D model.The results demonstrated that the model can accurately simulate the water and salt dynamics in the soil profile.The HYDRUS-1D model was then used to simulate 15 distinct irrigation scenarios.The results of the simulation indicated that irrigation amount did not have a significant effect on soil water storage but that increases in irrigation amount could accelerate salt leaching.However,when the irrigation amount was larger than 20 cm,the acceleration was not obvious.Compared with irrigating only once,intermittent irrigation had a better effect on increasing soil water storage and salt leaching,but excessive irrigation times and intervals did not improve salt leaching.In addition,we found that the irrigation regime of 20 cm,irrigated twice at 1-d intervals,might significantly increase salt leaching in the plough layer and decrease the risks of deep seepage and groundwater contamination.WenZhi ZENG Chi XU JingWei WU JieSheng HUANG 2014Journal of Arid Land2014,6,1:20
3Characteristics and Origin of Tight Oil Accumulations in the Upper Triassic Yanchang Formation of the Ordos Basin,North-Central China显示文摘The Upper Triassic oil accumulations in the Ordos Basin is the most successful tight oil play in China,with average porosity values of less than 10% and permeability values below 1.0 mD.This study investigated the geological characteristics and origin of the tight oil accumulations in the Chang 6 member of the Upper Triassic Yanchang Formation in the Shanbei area based on over 50,000 petrological,source-rock analysis,well logging and production data.The tight oil accumulation of the Chang 6 member is distributed continuously in the basin slope and the centre of the basin.The oilwater relationships are complex.Laumontite dissolution pores are the most important storage spaces,constituting 30%-60% of total porosity and showing a strong positive relationship with oil production.The pore-throat diameter is less than 1 μm,and the calculated critical height of the oil column is much larger than the tight sand thickness,suggesting that the buoyancy was probably of limited importance for oil migration.The pressure difference between the source rocks and sandstone reservoirs is inferred to have provided driving force for hydrocarbon migration.Two factors of source-reservoir configuration and laumontite dissolution contributed to the formation of the Chang 6 tight oil accumulations.Intense hydrocarbon generation and continuous sand bodies close to the hydrocarbon kitchen are the foundation for the large-scale oil distribution.Dissolution of feldspar-laumontite during the process of organic matter evolution generated abundant secondary pores and improved the reservoir quality.WU Songtao ZOU Caineng ZHU Rukai YAO Jingli TAO Shizhen YANG Zhi ZHAI Xiufen CUI Jingwei LIN Senhu 2016Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2016,90,5:13
4Spatial gradient distributions of thermal shock-induced damage to granite显示文摘In this study,we attempted to investigate the spatial gradient distributions of thermal shock-induced damage to granite with respect to associated deterioration mechanisms.First,thermal shock experiments were conducted on granite specimens by slowly preheating the specimens to high temperatures,followed by rapid cooling in tap water.Then,the spatial gradient distributions of thermal shock-induced damage were investigated by computed tomography(CT)and image analysis techniques.Finally,the influence of the preheating temperature on the spatial gradients of the damage was discussed.The results show that the thermal shock induced by rapid cooling can cause more damage to granite than that induced by slow cooling.The thermal shock induced by rapid cooling can cause spatial gradient distributions of the damage to granite.The damage near the specimen surface was at a maximum,while the damage inside the specimen was at a minimum.In addition,the preheating temperature can significantly influence the spatial gradient distributions of the thermal shock-induced damage.The spatial gradient distribution of damage increased as the preheating temperature increased and then decreased significantly over 600C.When the preheating temperature was sufficiently high(e.g.800C),the gradient can be ignored.Lifeng Fan Jingwei Gao Xiuli Du Zhijun Wu 2020Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2020,12,5:11

6Lx2-32c,a novel semi-synthetic taxane,exerts antitumor activity against prostate cancer cells in vitro and in vivo显示文摘Tubulin has been shown to be an effective target for the development of cytotoxic agents against prostate cancer. Previously, we reported that Lx2-32 c is an anti-tubulin agent with high binding affinity to tubulin. In this study, we investigated the potential of Lx2-32 c to act as an effective cytotoxic agent in the treatment of prostate cancer. MTT assays showed that Lx2-32 c was cytotoxic to all tested prostate cancer cell lines. The Lx2-32c-treated cells typically exhibited a rounded morphology associated with the onset of apoptosis, as evidenced by immunocytochemical staining. Human prostate cancer cell lines treated with Lx2-32 c arrest in the G2/M phase of the cell cycle and the treatment is associated with an increased ratio of cells in the sub-G0/G1 phase as determined by flow cytometry. Furthermore, expression of the cleaved form of poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase in prostate cancer cell lines treated with Lx2-32 c was shown by Western blotting assay. Xenograft implants of LNCa P and PC3-derived tumors in nude mice showed that Lx2-32 c treatment significant inhibited tumor growth with effects equivalent to those of docetaxel. 7Pantograph-catenary electrical contact system of high-speed railways:recent progress,challenges,and outlooks显示文摘As the unique power entrance,the pantograph-catenary electrical contact system maintains the efficiency and reliability of power transmission for the high-speed train.Along with the fast development of high-speed railways all over the world,some commercialized lines are built for covering the remote places under harsh environment,especially in China;these environmental elements including wind,sand,rain,thunder,ice and snow need to be considered during the design of the pantograph-catenary system.The pantograph-catenary system includes the pantograph,the contact wire and the interface—pantograph slide.As the key component,this pantograph slide plays a critical role in reliable power transmission under dynamic condition.The fundamental material characteristics of the pantograph slide and contact wire such as electrical conductivity,impact resistance,wear resistance,etc.,directly determine the sliding electrical contact performance of the pantograph-catenary system;meanwhile,different detection methods of the pantograph-catenary system are crucial for the reliability of service and maintenance.In addition,the challenges brought from extreme operational conditions are discussed,taking the Sichuan-Tibet Railway currently under construction as a special example with the high-altitude climate.The outlook for developing the ultra-high-speed train equipped with the novel pantograph-catenary system which can address the harsher operational environment is also involved.This paper has provided a comprehensive review of the high-speed railway pantograph-catenary systems,including its progress,challenges,outlooks in the history and future.Guangning Wu Keliang Dong Zhilei Xu Song Xiao Wenfu Wei Huan Chen Jie Li Zhanglin Huang Jingwei Li Guoqiang Gao Guozheng Kang Chuanjun Tu Xingyi Huang 2022Railway Engineering Science2022,30,4:5
8Computer simulation of evacuation in underground coal mines显示文摘In order to study the evacuation behavior of miners during accidents,we analyzed the rational layout of a safe chamber,and improved evacuation efficiency.A visual model of evacuation was developed and used to simulate the evacuation process of mines,given their special underground environments.In our simulation,the working faces of a coal mine and nearby tunnels were divided into 0.5 m×0.5 m grids to reflect the location of occupants and obstacles.Based on a 'flow potential of the occupant',we determined the direction of movement and routes of occupants.In the model,evacuation speed changed as a function of crowd density,with an average speed of 1.30 m/s.The model also takes into account detection time of the disaster and the personnel response time.Evacuation time,exit flow rate and evacuation path were obtained by simulation.The results indicate that using simulation technology can present a more visual evacuation process and show the behavior of occupants.Our establishment of a mine safety evacuation system has merit as reference value.JI Jingwei ZHANG Jlngyao CHEN Jinlin WU Shuang 2010Mining Science and Technology2010,20,5:4
9Estimation of Sunflower Seed Yield Using Partial Least Squares Regression and Artificial Neural Network Models显示文摘Statistical models can efficiently establish the relationships between crop growth and environmental conditions while explicitly quantifying uncertainties. This study aimed to test the efficiency of statistical models established using partial least squares regression(PLSR) and artificial neural network(ANN) in predicting seed yields of sunflower(Helianthus annuus). Two-year field trial data on sunflower growth under different salinity levels and nitrogen(N) application rates in the Yichang Experimental Station in Hetao Irrigation District, Inner Mongolia, China, were used to calibrate and validate the statistical models. The variable importance in projection score was calculated in order to select the sensitive crop indices for seed yield prediction. We found that when the most sensitive indices were used as inputs for seed yield estimation, the PLSR could attain a comparable accuracy(root mean square error(RMSE) = 0.93 t ha-1, coefficient of determination(R^2) = 0.69) to that when using all measured indices(RMSE = 0.81 t ha-1,R^2= 0.77). The ANN model outperformed the PLSR for yield prediction with different combinations of inputs of both microplots and field data. The results indicated that sunflower seed yield could be reasonably estimated by using a small number of crop characteristic indices under complex environmental conditions and management options(e.g., saline soils and N application). 11Sensitivity analysis of the SWAP(Soil-Water-Atmosphere-Plant)model under different nitrogen applications and root distributions in saline soils显示文摘Sensitivity analysis is important for determining the parameters in the model calibration process.In our study,a variance-based global sensitivity analysis(extended Fourier amplitude sensitivity test,EFAST)was applied to an agro-hydrological model(the SWAP(Soil-Water-Atmosphere-Plant model)model).The sensitivities of 20 parameters belonging to 4 categories(soil hydraulics,solute transport,root water uptake,and environmental stresses)for the simulated accumulated transpiration,dry matter(DM),and yield of sunflowers were analyzed under three nitrogen application rates(N1,N2,and N3),four salinity levels(S1,S2,S3,and S4),and three root distributions(R1,R2,and R3).The results indicated that for predominantly loamy soils,the high-impact parameters for accumulated transpiration,DM,and yield were the soil hydraulic parameters(αand n),critical stress index for compensatory root water uptake(ωc),the salt level at which salt stress starts(Pi),the decline of root water uptake above Pi(SSF),residual water content(θr),saturated water content(θs),and relative uptake of solutes by roots(TSCF).We also found that nitrogen application did not change the order of the parameter impacts on accumulated transpiration,DM,and yield.However,TSCF replacedαas the highest-impact parameter for the accumulated transpiration,DM,and yield at high salinity levels(S2 and S3).Furthermore,αwas also the highest-impact parameter for DM and yield under different root distributions,but the highest-impact parameters for transpiration wereωc,α,andθs under R1,R2,and R3,respectively.Nitrogen application could be neglected when considering the interactive effects of nitrogen application,salinity level,and root distribution on the transpiration,DM,and yield.Additionally,the mean values and uncertainties of the transpiration,DM,and yield were similar in all scenarios,except S3,which showed a sharp decrease in the mean values.We suggest determining the above eight parameters(α,n,ωc,Pi,SSF,θr,θs,and TSCF)and the saturated vertical hydraulic conductivity(Ks)based on rigorous calibrations with direct or indirect local measurements using economical methods(e.g.,a literature review),with limited observations for other parameters when using the SWAP model and other similar agro-hydrological models.Guoqing LEI Wenzhi ZENG Yonghua JIANG Chang AO Jingwei WU Jiesheng HUANG 2021Pedosphere2021,31,5:4
12Advances in preparation,application in contaminant removal,and environmental risks of biochar-based catalysts:a review显示文摘As a carbon-rich material produced by pyrolysis of biomass,biochar features low cost,large specific surface area,and widely available feedstocks based on the functional diversity and environmental-friendly properties,it has received increasing attention in the fields of pollutant removal due to three win-win effects of water remediation,carbon sequestration and reutilization of wastes.To design excellent biochar-based catalysts for environmental applications,one must understand recent advances in the catalysts for contaminant removal.This review focuses on the current application of biochar-based catalysts in redox systems,Fenton-like systems,sonocatalytic systems and photocatalytic systems.Besides in-depth discussion in effects of preparation conditions on physicochemical characteristics of biochars,the review supplements new preparation technologies of biochar and biochar-based catalysts.Most importantly,the advantages/shortcomings,catalysis mechanisms,as well as the pollutant removal ability of different types of biochar-based catalysts are discussed.The environmental risks of the catalyst applications are also elaborated on.Future research on biochar-based catalyst production and its environmental applications is discussed.The review provides a good overview of the current advances of biochar-based catalysts in pollutant control and the future research directions.Bowen Yang Jiawei Dai Yuan Zhao Jingwei Wu Caiya Ji Yuhu Zhang 2022Biochar2022,4,1:2
13Modified DIX model for ion-exchange equilibrium of L-phenylalanine on a strong cation-exchange resin显示文摘L-phenylalanine,one of the nine essential amino acids for the human body,is extensively used as an ingredient in food,pharmaceutical and nutrition industries.A suitable equilibrium model is required for purification of L-phenylalanine based on ion-exchange chromatography.In this work,the equilibrium uptake of L-phenylalanine on a strong acid-cation exchanger SH11 was investigated experimentally and theoretically.A modified Donnan ion-exchange(DIX) model,which takes the activity into account,was established to predict the uptake of L-phenylalanine at various solution pH values.The model parameters including selectivity and mean activity coefficient in the resin phase are presented.The modified DIX model is in good agreement with the experimental data.The optimum operating pH value of 2.0,with the highest L-phenylalanine uptake on the resin,is predicted by the model.This basic information combined with the general mass transfer model will lay the foundation for the prediction of dynamic behavior of fixed bed separation process.Jinglan wu Pengfei Jiao Wei Zhuang Jingwei Zhou Hanjie Ying 2016Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2016,24,10:2

15The salt-activated CBF1/CBF2/CBF3-GALS1 module fine-tunes galactan-induced salt hypersensitivity in Arabidopsis显示文摘Plant growth and development are significantly hampered in saline environments,limiting agricultural productivity.Thus,it is crucial to unravel the mechanism underlying plant responses to salt stress.β-1,4-Galactan(galactan),which forms the side chains of pectic rhamnogalacturonan I,enhances plant sensitivity to high-salt stress.Galactan is synthesized by GALACTAN SYNTHASE1(GALS1).We previously showed that Na Cl relieves the direct suppression of GALS1 transcription by the transcription factors BPC1 and BPC2 to induce the excess accumulation of galactan in Arabidopsis(Arabidopsis thaliana).However,how plants adapt to this unfavorable environment remains unclear.Here,we determined that the transcription factors CBF1,CBF2,and CBF3 directly interact with the GALS1 promoter and repress its expression,leading to reduced galactan accumulation and enhanced salt tolerance.Salt stress enhances the binding of CBF1/CBF2/CBF3 to the GALS1 promoter by inducing CBF1/CBF2/CBF3 transcription and accumulation.Genetic analysis suggested that CBF1/CBF2/CBF3 function upstream of GALS1 to modulate salt-induced galactan biosynthesis and the salt response.CBF1/CBF2/CBF3 and BPC1/BPC2 function in parallel to regulate GALS1 expression,thereby modulating the salt response.Our results reveal a mechanism in which salt-activated CBF1/CBF2/CBF3 inhibit BPC1/BPC2-regulated GALS1 expression to alleviate galactan-induced salt hypersensitivity,providing an activation/deactivation fine-tune mechanism for dynamic regulation of GALS1 expression under salt stress in Arabidopsis.Jingwei Yan Ya Liu Jiawen Yan Zhihui Liu Heqiang Lou Jiasheng Wu 2023Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2023,65,8:2
16A novel TiO_2 with a large amount of bulk intrinsic defects-Visible-light-responded photocatalytic activity induced by foreign trap显示文摘A novel TiO2 (anatase) containing a large amount of single electron trapped oxygen vacancies (SETOV) was prepared by dehydration of titanic acid nanotubes. This novel TiO2 contains high concentration intrinsic defects in bulk structure, while its surface still remains the stoichiometric structure to protect them. And this novel TiO2 itself has the visible light absorption without any doping, so we call it as the third generation of TiO2 . However, it is regretted that this novel TiO2 (A) only has photocatalytic activity under UV light irradiation, and was inactive for the visible light. The true reasons for this phenomenon were investigated by the transient IR absorption and photoluminescence spectra. Through constructing the foreign electron traps (PdO, PtO2 ), the photocatalytic oxidation of propylene under visible light irradiation was successfully achieved. The removal yield of propylene (C3H6 ) reached 7.6% and 28% on 2 wt.% PtO2 /novel TiO2 and 2 wt.% PdO/novel TiO2 , respectively. By comparison with the noble metal electron traps (Pt, Pd), we found that the effective foreign electron traps need to satisfy two conditions: (1) its work function should situate in the range of Eg(TiO2 ); (2) O2 adsorbes on it undissociatively. 17Exploration and development of continental tight oil in China显示文摘Based on the investigation of tight oil exploration and development in North America, the successful cases of tight oil exploration and development in North America are summarized. The geological differences between continental tight oil in China and marine tight oil in North America is analyzed to explore the technical strategies for the industrial development of continental tight oil in China. The experiences of large-scale exploration and profitable development of tight oil in North America can be taken as references from the following 6 perspectives, namely exploring new profitable strata in mature exploration areas, strengthening the economic evaluation of sweet spots and focusing on the investment for high-profitability sweet spots, optimizing the producing of tight oil reserves by means of repetitive fracturing and 3 D fracturing, optimizing drilling and completion technologies to reduce the cost, adopting commodity hedging to ensure the sustainable profit, and strengthening other resources exploration to improve the profit of whole project.
