| 2 | Chinese deserts and sand fields in Last Glacial Maximum and Holocene Optimum显示文摘The Last Glacial Maximum (LGM, c. 26-16 ka) and the Holocene Optimum (HO, c. 9-5 ka) were characterized by cold-dry and warm-wet climates respectively in the recently geological Earth. How Chinese deserts and sand fields responded to these distinctive climatic changes is still not clear, however. To reconstruct environments of the deserts and sand fields during the LGM and HO is helpful to understand the forcing mechanisms of environment change in this arid region, and to test paleoclimatic modeling results. Through our long-term field and laboratory investigations, 400 optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) ages and more than 100 depositional records in the Chinese deserts and sand fields were obtained; on the basis of these data, we reconstruct spatial distributions of the deserts and sand fields during the LGM and HO. Our results show that the sand fields of Mu Us, Hunshandake, Horqin and Hulun Buir in northern and northeastern China had expanded 25%, 37%, 38% and 270%, respectively, during the LGM; the sand fields of Gonghe in the northeastern Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau had expanded 20%, and the deserts of Badain Jaran, Tengger in central northern China had expanded 39% and 29% separately during the LGM; the deserts of Taklimakan, Gurbantünggüt and Kumtag in northwestern China had expanded 10%-20% respectively, compared to their modern areas. On the other hand, all of the sand fields were nearly completely covered by vegetation during the HO; the deserts in northwestern and central northern China were reduced by around 5%-20% in area during this time. Lakes in this arid region were probably expanded during the HO but this conclusion needs more investigation. Compared with the geological distributions of deserts and sand fields, human activity has clearly changed (expanded) the area of active sand dunes at the present time. | 3 | Molecular subtyping and genomic profiling expand precision medicine in refractory metastatic triple-negative breast cancer:the FUTURE trial显示文摘Triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC)is a highly heterogeneous disease,and molecular subtyping may result in improved diagnostic precision and targeted therapies.Our previous study classified TNBCs into four subtypes with putative therapeutic targets.Here,we conducted the FUTURE trial(ClinicalTrials.gov identifer:NCT03805399),a phaseⅠb/Ⅱsubtyping-based and genomic biomarker-guided umbrella trial,to evaluate the efficacy of these targets.Patients with refractory metastatic TNBC were enrolled and stratifed by TNBC subtypes and genomic biomarkers,and assigned to one of these seven arms:(A)pyrotinib with capecitabine,(B)androgen receptor inhibitor with CDK4/6 inhibitor,(C)anti PD-1 with nab-paclitaxel,(D)PARP inhibitor included,(E)and(F)anti-VEGFR included,or(G)mTOR inhibitor with nab paclitaxel.The primary end point was the objective response rate(ORR).We enrolled 69 refractory metastatic TNBC patients with a median of three previous lines of therapy(range,1-8).Objective response was achieved in 20(29.0%,95%confidence interval(CI):18.7%-41.2%)of the 69 intention-to-treat(ITT)patients.Our results showed that immunotherapy(arm C),in particular,achieved the highest ORR(52.6%,95%CI:28.9%-75.6%)in the ITT population.Arm E demonstrated favorable ORR(26.1%,95%C:10.2%-48.4%in the ITT population)but with more high grade(23)adverse events.Somatic mutations of TOP2A and CD8 immunohistochemical score may have the potential to predict immunotherapy response in the immunomodulatory subtype of TNBC.In conclusion,the phaseⅠb/ⅡFUTURE trial suggested a new concept for TNBC treatment,demonstrating the clinical beneft of subtyping-based targeted therapy for refractory metastatic TNBC. | Yi-Zhou Jiang Yin Liu Yi Xiao Xin Hu Lin Jiang Wen-ia Zuo Ding Ma Jiahan Ding Xiaoyu Zhu Jianjun Zou Claire Verschraegen Daniel G.Stover Virginia Kaklamani Zhong-Hua Wang Zhi-Ming Shao | 2021 | Cell Research2021,31,2: | 37 |
| 4 | Changes in global potential vegetation distributions from 1911 to 2000 as simulated by the Comprehensive Sequential Classification System approach显示文摘Vegetation classification models play an important role in studying the response of the terrestrial ecosystem to global climate change. In this paper, we study changes in global Potential Natural Vegetation (PNV) distributions using the Comprehensive Sequential Classification System (CSCS) approach, a technique that combines geographic information systems. Results indicate that on a global scale there are good agreements among maps produced by the CSCS method and the globally well-accepted Holdridge Life Zone (HLZ) and BIOME4 PNV models. The potential vegetation simulated by the CSCS approach has 6 major latitudinal zones in the northern hemisphere and 2 in the southern hemisphere. In mountainous areas it has obvious altitudinal distribution characteristics due to topographic effects. The distribution extent for different PNV classes at various periods has different characteristics. It had a decreasing trend for the tundra and alpine steppe, desert, sub-tropical forest and tropical forest categories, and an increasing trend for the temperate forest and grassland vegetation categories. The simulation of global CSCS-based PNV classes helps to understand climate-vegetation relationships and reveals the dynamics of potential vegetation distributions induced by global changes. | 7 | Quantitative prediction of mining subsidence and its impact on the environment显示文摘This study is focused on the prediction of mining subsidence and its impact on the environment in the Hongqi mining area. The study was carried out by means of a probability integral model based, in first instance based on field surveys and the analysis of data collected from this area. Isolines of mining subsidence were then drawn and the impact caused by mining subsidence on the environment was analyzed quantitatively by spatial analysis with Geographic Information System (GIS). The results indicate that the subsidence area of the first working-mine can be as large as 2.54 km 2 , the maximum subsidence is 3440 mm which will cause 1524 houses to be relocated. The entire subsidence area of the mine can reach 8.09 km 2 , with a maximum subsidence of 3590 mm. | 8 | Characteristics of strike-slip inversion structures of the Karatau fault and their petroleum geological significances in the South Turgay Basin,Kazakhstan显示文摘The Karatau fault is one of the important strike-slip faults in central Asia,and the South Turgay Basin is located towards its northern end.Detailed seismic interpretation indicated that the strikeslip tectonism of the Karatau fault weakened gradually from west to east in the South Turgay Basin.Typical flower structures developed on the section,and strike-slip faults showed an echelon pattern on planar view.The Karatau strike-slip fault affected the South Turgay Basin in two periods:(1) The South Turgay strike-slip pull-apart rift basin formed as a result of regional extensive stress in the Early-Middle Jurassic,characterized by the juxtaposition of horsts and grabens.The formation of horsts provided favorable reservoir spaces for later hydrocarbon accumulation,and different filling stages of grabens controlled different reservoir-forming factors in grabens.(2) Two stages of tectonic inversion occurred in the Late Jurassic and Late Cretaceous and played a crucial role in the final shape of the structure in the South Turgay Basin.The oil and gas migrated to form reservoirs and mainly concentrated in the horsts,graben slopes and in both sides of the strike-slip fault zone.In the case of the degree of accumulation of petroleum,the factor explaining why horsts are better than grabens is the strike-slip pull-apart of the South Turgay Basin,and the structure inversion of the South Turgay Basin explains why the west graben is better than the east one.Overall,the Karatau strike-slip fault played a very important role in the formation of the South Turgay Basin and its hydrocarbon accumulations. | Yin Wei Fan Zifei Zheng Junzhang Yin Jiquan Zhang Mingjun Sheng Xiaofeng Guo Jianjun Li Qiyan Lin yaping | 2012 | Petroleum Science2012,9,4: | 11 |

| 12 | Regional eco-efficiency evaluation and spatial pattern analysis of the Yangtze River Economic Zone显示文摘The environmental ecology of the Yangtze River Economic Zone(YREZ)faces ecological function decline,deterioration and degradation under intense human activities,long-term development and utilization and its economy has developed rapidly over recent decades.Eco-efficiency is considered as a measure of coordinated development of economy,resources,environment and ecology,and is currently considered a very important issue.In this paper,based on the slack-based measure and data envelope analysis model,we take 129 prefecture-level cities of the YREZ as the study unit and measure the eco-efficiency of the YREZ in 2000,2005,2010 and 2015,which considers undesired output.The evaluation of the status quo of the regional eco-efficiency development was carried out at provincial,prefectural and city scales.The spatial autocorrelation test model and standard deviation ellipse were used to analyze the spatially distributed characteristics and the evolutionary regularity of eco-efficiency.Our study suggested that the eco-efficiency value varied significantly at different spatiotemporal scales and the overall distribution presented an'N-shaped'pattern,the value is the largest downstream and the smallest upstream.Regional eco-efficiency presented certain volatility in growth and a clear spatial positive agglomeration trend from 2000 to 2015.The spatial distribution of each agglomeration area was also significantly different,forming some high-high agglomeration areas at the center of the shaft with Shanghai and surrounding cities,and some low-low agglomeration areas at the center with middle reaches and upstream cities.The low-high over-aggregation and high-low polarization clusters were fewer.At the same time,with the change of the research period,the degree of positive agglomeration became increasingly pronounced and the eco-efficiency gap of the neighborhoodunit reduced.The regional eco-efficiency value of the YREZ presented a spatial distribution pattern in the northeast-southwest axis and the evolutionary pattern of the regional eco-efficiency similarly showed a northeast-southwest orientation. | HA Lin TU Jianjun YANG Jianping XU Chunhai PANG Jiaxing LU Debin YAO Zuolin ZHAO Wenyu | 2020 | Journal of Geographical Sciences2020,30,7: | 8 |

In this study, the mathematical model for 120 t large ingot was established, and the computer program ESR3D was developed to simulate the whole electro-slag re-melting (ESR) process. This includes the electrode melting, metallic droplet falling, metal pool forming, metal pool and slag pool rising and moving, installation of top crystallizer, ingot solidifying, etc. The simulated average melting rate of the electrode was in good agreement with that in practical production. | 16 | Experimental study of mode distortion induced by stimulated Raman scattering in high-power fiber amplifiers显示文摘The experimental investigation of mode distortion induced by stimulated Raman scattering(SRS)in a high-power fiber amplifier,which includes the evolutions of optical spectra,spatial beam profiles,and time-frequency characteristics,has been carried out in detail.Temporal-frequency characteristics have been studied for the first time,to the best of our knowledge,by using a low-speed camera and high-speed photodiode traces,which revealed that temporal-frequency characteristics of SRS-induced mode distortion are different from traditional dynamic mode instability(MI).The experimental results show that the output beam profile remains stable before the mode distortion occurs and fluctuates obviously after the onset of SRS-induced MI but on a time scale of seconds,which is much lower than that of Yb-gain-induced MI featuring millisecond-level beam profile fluctuation.It also shows that the mode distortion became measurable in company with the onset of inter-mode four-wave mixing(IM-FWM)when the ratio of Raman light reaches 3%;further,the beam quality factor M2degrades gradually from 1.4 to 2.1 as the ratio of Raman light increases.The mode distortion is accompanied by an obvious temperature increase of the output passive fiber,which further confirms that the mode distortion originates from SRS.The cause of the mode distortion induced by SRS has been explained in the context of core-pumped SRS effect,and the investigation on the accompanying IM-FWM effect indicates that the main content of the SRSinduced high-order mode is the LP21 mode. | QIUHUI CHU QIANG SHU ZENG CHEN FENGYUN LI DONGLIN YAN CHAO GUO HONGHUAN LIN JIANJUN WANG FENG JING CHUANXIANG TANG RUMAO TAO | 2020 | Photonics Research2020,8,4: | 6 |
| 17 | Fouling community characteristics in subtropical coastal waters of the southwestern East China Sea显示文摘A fouling study was conducted in coastal waters southwest of the East China Sea between December 2013 and November 2014. A total of 84 species of fouling organisms belonging to 69 genera, 49 families, and 10 phyla were recorded over the entire year. The community composition was dominated by coastal warm-water species belonging to typical subtropical inner bay communities. The prosperous stage of settlement lasted from April to September, and the adhesion strength of the fouling organisms was the highest in summer. Sessile suspension feeders constituted the main core of settlement for the fouling community. Amphibalanus reticulatus was the most dominant and representative species of fouling organism, and other dominant species included Caprella equilibra, Ectopleura crocea, Anthopleura nigrescens, Stylochus ijimai, Spirobranchus kraussii, Crassostrea angulata, Perna viridis, Jassa falcata, Stenothoe valida, Sphaerozius nitidus, and Biflustra grandicella. The individuals in the fouling community showed a mutual dependence or constraint relationship due to competition for settlement space and food, and they exhibited a particular spatiotemporal distribution in accordance with adaptation to environmental factors. Temperature was the most important environmental factor determining the geographic distribution of fouling organisms. The temperature characteristics of species essentially reflect the differences in the fouling community composition in various climate zones. The species number, settlement stage, and settlement rate of fouling organisms are closely related to water temperature. | 18 | Anatomical variation of infra-pyloric artery origination: A prospective multicenter observational study (IPA-Origin)显示文摘Objective: Infra-pyloric artery(IPA) is an important anatomical landmark in treatment of gastric cancer and is the key vessel for pylorus-preserving gastrectomy and subgroup of infra-pyloric lymph nodes. However, its anatomical variation is not thoroughly understood. Our study aimed to clarify the origination of the IPA.Methods: We did this prospective, multicenter, open-label, observational study at gastric surgery departments of34 hospitals in China. Gastric cancer patients aged 18 years or older and scheduled to undergo elective total or distal gastrectomy were assigned. During the surgery, IPA dissecting and exposing the origination point with photographs or video clips were required. The primary outcome was the origination of the IPA. Analysis of variance, χ~2 tests and Fisher's tests were used to analyze the differences between groups. The study is registered at Clinicaltrials.gov(No. NCT03071237).Results: Between May 8 and July 31, 2017, 429 patients were assigned for the study, and 419(97.7%) patients had the IPA dissected and recorded through photograph or video and were included in the primary outcome analysis. The median age was 62 years old, and 73.7% were male. Among the patients, 78.5% received laparoscopic surgery. Single IPA origination was identified in 398(95.0%) patients, including gastroduodenal artery(GDA) in154(36.8%) patients, anterior superior pancreaticoduodenal artery(ASPDA) in 130(31.0%) patients, and right gastroepiploic artery(RGEA) in 114(27.2%) patients. Fifteen(3.6%) patients were identified with multiple IPA and 6(1.4%) patients were identified as IPA absence. The differences in the distribution of surgical approach(P=0.003) and geographic area(P=0.030) were statistically significant. | 20 | A method for aircraft magnetic interference compensation based on small signal model and LMS algorithm显示文摘Aeromagnetic interference could not be compensated effectively if the precision of parameters which are solved by the aircraft magnetic field model is low. In order to improve the compensation effect under this condition, a method based on small signal model and least mean square(LMS) algorithm is proposed. According to the method, the initial values of adaptive filter's weight vector are calculated with the solved model parameters through small signal model at first,then the small amount of direction cosine and its derivative are set as the input of the filter, and the small amount of the interference is set as the filter's expected vector. After that, the aircraft magnetic interference is compensated by LMS algorithm. Finally, the method is verified by simulation and experiment. The result shows that the compensation effect can be improved obviously by the LMS algorithm when original solved parameters have low precision.
