| 1 | Neutrophil engagement and septic challenge in acute experimental pancreatitis in rats显示文摘AIM: To investigate the influence of neutrophil adhesion molecule blockade with monoclonal antibody (MoAb CD11b) and E. coli lipopolysaccharide (LPS)administration on experimental acute pancreatitis (AP).METHODS: AP was induced by four ip injections of cerulein (Cn) at 1-h intervals. MoAb CD 11b and LPS were administered at the beginning of the experiment.RESULTS: The neutrophil count and chemiluminescence were diminished at the beginning of AP. The oxidative stress parameters were found within the pancreatic gland. MoAb CD 11b used for AP resulted in a significant reduction of pancreatic infiltration and pancreatitis oxidative stress parameters. Serum interleukin-6 (IL-6)was not detected in AP animals, whereas high serum IL-6 concentration was noted only in animals receiving LPS.CONCLUSION: Neutrophils are involved in pancreatic damage in the early stage of AP. Neutrophil infiltration reduction protects the pancreatic gland from destruction during AP. | 13 | A procedural footprint enhancement of global topographic surface with multiple levels of detail显示文摘Virtual globes are technologies for visual navigation through a threedimensional,multi-resolution model of the entire planet.Data representations used in virtual globes,however,lack geometric flexibility at high-resolution levels of the planet-wide terrain surface.This is a problem especially if boundaries between individual geospatial features and the terrain are important.A novel integration of individual polygonal boundaries with a specific multi-resolution representation of the planet-wide terrain is developed in this article.In the preparation stage,the integration relies on an original simplification algorithm applied to the polygonal boundaries between geospatial features and the terrain.Its output is a multiple level-of-detail(LOD)geometry,which can be combined with a known multi-LOD representation of the terrain that uses run-time triangulation.This data representation is suitable for storage in existing database systems,avoids any data redundancy across LODs,and is even independent of the subdivision schema that partitions the planet’s surface for the sake of dealing with LODs.At runtime,a novel reconstruction algorithm stitches geometric parts from different LODs together in a manner that augments the multi-LOD representation of the terrain.Within a certain proximity range from a given position,the method reconstructs a scene that preserves topological relations between the boundaries of geospatial features with the terrain.The method also guarantees that certain nearest proximity to the given position consists of the best geometries that correspond to the original datasets.Such properties of the method close up the gap between a mere exploratory visualization of static,pre-generated models and the models supporting geospatial analysis,which is deemed crucial for applications in Geographic Information Systems,Building Information Modelling and other software industries.A prototype implementation and experiment results that prove this method are also presented. | Lukáš Brůha Jan Kolář | 2020 | International Journal of Digital Earth2020,13,4: | 0 |
| 14 | In vitro Cyto and Blood Compatibility of Titanium Containing Diamond-Like Carbon Prepared by Hybrid Sputtering Method显示文摘In recent years,diamond-like carbon films (DLC) have been given more attention in research in the biomedical industry due to their potential application as surface coating on biomedical materials such as metals and polymer substrates.There are many ways to prepare metal containing DLC films deposited on polymeric film substrates,such as coatings from car-bonaceous precursors and some means that incorporate other elements.In this study,we in-vestigated both the surface and biocompatible properties of titanium containing DLC (Ti-DLC) films.The Ti-DLC films were prepared on the surface of poly (ethylene terephthalate) (PET) film as a function of the deposition power level using reactive sputtering technique.The films' hydrophilicity was studied by contact angle and surface energy tests.Their surface morphology was studied by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and atomic force microscopy (AFM).Their elemental chemical composition was analyzed using energy dispersive X-spectra (EDX) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS).Their blood and cell compatibility was studied by in vitro tests,including tests on platelet adhesion,thrombus formation,whole blood clotting time and osteoblast cell compatibility.Significant changes in the morphological and chemical composition of the Ti-DLC films were observed and found to be a function of the deposition level.These morphological and chemical changes reduced the interfacial tension between Ti-DLC and blood proteins as well as resisted the adhesion and activation of platelets on the surface of the Ti-DLC films.The cell compatibility results exhibited significant growth of osteoblast cells on the surface of Ti incorporated DLC film compared with that of DLC film surface. | Krishnasamy NAVANEETHA PANDIYARAJ Jan HEEG Andreas LAMPKA Fabian JUNGE Torsten BARFELS Marion WIENECKE Young Ha RHEE Hyoung Woo KIM | 2012 | Plasma Science and Technology2012,14,9: | 0 |
