Microelectronics-embedded channel bridging and signal regeneration of injured spinal cords显示文摘Due to the dificulty in spinal cord regeneration with biological methods, the microelectronic neural bridge,a new concept based on microelectronic technology,is presented. The microelectronic system has been realized in the forms of hybrid and integrated circuits. The integrated circuits forneural signal detection, stimulation, and regeneration are realized in a CMOS process. In animal experiments with 100 toads,48 rats, and 3 rabbits, nerve signals have been successfully detected from spinal cords and sciatic nerves, and functional electrical stimulation has been carried out for spinal cords and sciatic nerves. When the microelectronic system is bridged between the controlling and stimulated nerve, the relevant motion of legs and nerve signal waveforms, which are stimulated by the evoked or spontaneous nerve signal through such a system, have been observed. Therefore, the feasibility of the presented method was demonstrated. | Zhigong Wang Xiaosong Gu Xiaoying Lǔ Zhenglin Jiang Wenyuan Li Guangming Lǔ Yufeng Wang Xiaoyan Shen Xintai Zhao Huiling Wang Zhenyu Zhang Hongmei Shen Yang Wu Weixing Shen Jingyang Zhang Dong Chen Xiaoyi Mao Huaxiang Shen | 2009 | Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2009,19,10: | 5
Reactive MnO_(2) template-assisted synthesis of double-shelled PPy hollow nanotubes to boost microwave absorption显示文摘Microwave absorbing materials(MAMs)with wide effective absorption bandwidth(EAB)and low filling ratio are highly desirable for practical applications.Rational design in components and structures is one of the effective strategies to achieve MAMs with high performance.Herein,double-shelled hollow(DSH)polypyrrole(PPy)nanotubes were synthesized with hydrochloric acid(HCl)and sodium pstyrene sulfonate(SS)co-doping polymerization process using manganese dioxide(MnO_(2))nanorods as a self-sacrifice template. With the increase of HCl concentration, the 1D MnO_(2) core diminishes gradually to form the MnO_(2)@PPy coaxial nanostructures and finally the DSH PPy nanotube, which tunes the microwave absorption performance.Importantly, the DSH PPy nanotubes exhibit excellent microwave absorption of an optimal reflection loss of–50.4 dB and a wide EAB of 7.7 GHz with a low filling ratio of 5 wt%in a paraffin wax matrix. The excellent microwave absorption is believed to be mainly attributed to the enhanced synergistic effects of interfacial polarization and conduction loss arising from the unique DSH structure and the co-doping polymerization. | Huiling Gu Ji Huang Na Li Hua Yang Gang Chen Chengjun Dong Chunhong Gong Hongtao Guan | 2023 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,15: | 3
Co-delivery of photosensitizer and diclofenac through sequentially responsive bilirubin nanocarriers for combating hypoxic tumors显示文摘Considering that photodynamic therapy(PDT)-induced oxygen consumption and microvascular damage could exacerbate hypoxia to drive more glycolysis and angiogenesis, a novel approach to potentiate PDT and overcome the resistances of hypoxia is avidly needed. Herein, morpholine-modified PEGylated bilirubin was proposed to co-deliver chlorin e6, a photosensitizer, and diclofenac(Dc). In acidic milieu, the presence of morpholine could enable the nanocarriers to selectively accumulate in tumor cells, while PDT-generated reactive oxidative species(ROS) resulted in the collapse of bilirubin nanoparticles and rapid release of Dc. Combining with Dc showed a higher rate of apoptosis over PDT alone and simultaneously triggered a domino effect, including blocking the activity and expression of lactate dehydrogenase A(LDHA), interfering with lactate secretion, suppressing the activation of various angiogenic factors and thus obviating hypoxia-induced resistance-glycolysis and angiogenesis. In addition, inhibition of hypoxia-inducible factor-1a(HIF-1a) by Dc alleviated hypoxia-induced resistance. This study offered a sequentially responsive platform to achieve sufficient tumor enrichment, on-demand drug release and superior anti-tumor outcomes in vitro and in vivo. | Yang Zhou Fan Tong Weilong Gu Siqin He Xiaotong Yang Jiamei Li Yue-Dong Gao Huile Gao | 2022 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,3: | 2

A multichannel neural signal detecting module:Its design and test in animal experiments显示文摘A four-channel neural signal detecting module with an implantable 12-contact cuff electrode was designed for real-time neural signal recording on peripheral and central nerves. The mathematic coupling model between nerve and electronic system was analyzed. Electrode connection configurations were considered. The detecting circuit included an input coupling network, a pre-amplifier, and some filtering and notching stages. Shield guarding and the right-leg-driven circuit were developed for further elimination of common mode interference. By electrode switches, the module could cooperate with a nerve functional electrical stimulation circuit, building a neural channel bridge-connection system. It was tested by recording experiments on rat’s sciatic and spine nerves. The signals in spontaneous and evoked conditions have been captured successfully. In addition, an implantable neural signal detecting CMOS IC has been introduced. | Wang Yufeng Wang Zhigong Lu Xiaoying Gu Xiaosong Li Wenyuan Wang Huiling Jiang Zhenlin Lu Guangming K. P. | 10 | Evidence for a therapeutic effect of Braintone on ischemic brain damage显示文摘This study used a novel combination of in vivo and in vitro experiments to show that Braintone had neuroprotective effects and clarified the molecular mechanisms underlying its efficacy. The Chinese herbal extract Braintone is composed of Radix Rhodiolase Essence, Radix Notoginseng Essence, Folium Ginkgo Essence and Rhizoma Chuanxiong. In vivo experiments showed that cerebral infarction volume was reduced, hemispheric water content decreased, and neurological deficits were alleviated in a rat model of permanent middle cerebral artery occlusion after administration of 87.5, 175 or 350 mg/kg Braintone for 7 consecutive days. Western blot analysis showed that Braintone enhanced the expression of hypoxia-inducible factor 1α, heme oxygenase-1 and vascular endothelial growth factor in the ischemic cortex of these rats. The 350 mg/kg dose of Braintone produced the most dramatic effects. For the in vitro experiments, prior to oxygen-glucose deprivation, rats were intragastrically injected with 440, 880 or 1 760 mg/kg Braintone to prepare a Braintone-containing serum, which was used to pre-treat human umbilical vein endothelial cells for 24 hours. Human umbilical vein endothelial cell injury was alleviated with this pre-treatment. Western blot and real-time PCR analysis showed that the Braintone-containing serum increased the levels of hypoxia-inducible factor 1α mRNA and protein, heme oxygenase-1 protein and vascular endothelial growth factor mRNA in oxygen-glucose deprived human umbilical vein endothelial cells. The 1 760 mg/kg dose produced the greatest increases in expression. Collectively, these experimental findings suggest that Braintone has neuroprotective effects on ischemia-induced brain damage via the up-regulation of hypoxia-inducible factor 1α, heme oxygenase-1 and vascular endothelial growth factor expression in vascular endothelial cells. | Yuanyuan Qin Yu Luo Weiwei Gu Lei Yang Xikun Shen Zhenlun Gu Huiling Zhang Xiumei Gao | 2013 | Neural Regeneration Research2013,8,19: | 0
Haploidentical stem cell transplantation used in treating primary plasma cell leukemia: a case report显示文摘Here we report a successful protocol in treatment of a patient with primary plasma cell leukemia (PPCL) using haploidentical stem cell transplantation (hi-HSCT). During first complete remission after routine chemotherapy, the patient received autologous blood stem cell transplantation, but he had relapse later. He gained a second CR after chemotherapy and underwent hi-HSCT from his daughter, who had HLA mismatched at three loci. Recovery of hemopoiesis was found at day 14 and complete donor chimerism was confirmed by PCR-STR on day 34, 95 and 238. The patients have survived disease-free for 56 months since hi-HSCT, without serious graft-versus-host-disease. | Ouyang Guifang Zhu Huiling Hong Yongwei Xu Kaihong Mu Qitian Le Jing Wu Wenmiao Lu Ying Gu Xuewei Ni Lifeng | 2010 | Journal of Medical Colleges of PLA(China)2010,25,1: | 0
Feasibility and physics potential of detecting ^(8)B solar neutrinos at JUNO显示文摘The Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory(JUNO)features a 20 kt multi-purpose underground liquid scintillator sphere as its main detector. Some of JUNO's features make it an excellent location for^8B solar neutrino measurements, such as its low-energy threshold, high energy resolution compared with water Cherenkov detectors, and much larger target mass compared with previous liquid scintillator detectors. In this paper,we present a comprehensive assessment of JUNO's potential for detecting^8B solar neutrinos via the neutrino-electron elastic scattering process.A reduced 2 MeV threshold for the recoil electron energy is found to be achievable, assuming that the intrinsic radioactive background^(238)U and^(232)Th in the liquid scintillator can be controlled to 10^(-17)g/g.With ten years of data acquisition, approximately 60,000 signal and 30,000 background events are expected. This large sample will enable an examination of the distortion of the recoil electron spectrum that is dominated by the neutrino flavor transformation in the dense solar matter, which will shed new light on the inconsistency between the measured electron spectra and the predictions of the standard three-flavor neutrino oscillation framework.IfDelta m^(2)_(21)=4.8times10^(-5);(7.5times10^(-5))eV^(2),JUNO can provide evidence of neutrino oscillation in the Earth at approximately the 3sigma(2sigma)level by measuring the non-zero signal rate variation with respect to the solar zenith angle. Moreover,JUNO can simultaneously measureDelta m^2_(21)using^8B solar neutrinos to a precision of 20% or better, depending on the central value, and to sub-percent precision using reactor antineutrinos.A comparison of these two measurements from the same detector will help understand the current mild inconsistency between the value of Delta m^2_(21)reported by solar neutrino experiments and the KamLAND experiment. | 14 | Selectivity regulation of CO_(2)electroreduction on asymmetric AuAgCu tandem heterostructures显示文摘Rational design and synthesis of multimetallic nanostructures(NSs)are fundamentally important for electrochemical CO_(2)reduction reaction(CO_(2)RR).Herein,a multi-step seed-mediated growth method is applied to synthesize asymmetric AuAgCu heterostructures using Au nanobipyramids as nucleation seeds,in which their composition and structures are well controlled. We find that the selectivity of C_(2)products for CO_(2)RR could be effectively regulated by tandem catalysis and electronic effect over trimetallic AuAgCu heterostructures.Particularly, the Faraday efficiency toward ethanol could reach up to 37.5%at a potential of−0.8 V versus reversible hydrogen electrode over asymmetric Au1Ag1Cu5 heterostructures with segregated domains of three constituent metals. This work provides an efficient strategy for the synthesis of multicomponent architectures to boost their promising application in CO_(2)RR. | Yating Zhu Zengqiang Gao Zhicheng Zhang Ting Lin Qinghua Zhang Huiling Liu Lin Gu Wenping Hu | 2022 | Nano Research2022,15,9: | 0
Adaptive Barebones Salp Swarm Algorithm with Quasi-oppositional Learning for Medical Diagnosis Systems: A Comprehensive Analysis显示文摘The Salp Swarm Algorithm(SSA)may have trouble in dropping into stagnation as a kind of swarm intelligence method. This paper developed an adaptive barebones salp swarm algorithm with quasi-oppositional-based learning to compensate for the above weakness called QBSSA.In the proposed QBSSA,an adaptive barebones strategy can help to reach both accurate convergence speed and high solution quality;quasi-oppositional-based learning can make the population away from traping into local optimal and expand the search space. To estimate the performance of the presented method,a series of tests are performed.Firstly,CEC 2017 benchmark test suit is used to test the ability to solve the high dimensional and multimodal problems;then, based on QBSSA,an improved Kernel Extreme Learning Machine(KELM)model, named QBSSA–KELM,is built to handle medical disease diagnosis problems. All the test results and discussions state clearly that the QBSSA is superior to and very competitive to all the compared algorithms on both convergence speed and solutions accuracy. | Jianfu Xia Hongliang Zhang Rizeng Li Zhiyan Wang Zhennao Cai Zhiyang Gu Huiling Chen Zhifang Pan | 2022 | Journal of Bionic Engineering2022,19,1: | 0
