Clinical application and mechanism of traditional Chinese medicine in treatment of lung cancer显示文摘Lung cancer is a malignant tumor characterized by a rapid proliferation rate, less survivability, high mortality, and metastatic potential. This review focuses on updated research about the clinical application of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)as an adjuvant therapy to lung cancer treatment and the mechanisms of TCM effect on lung cancer in vitro and in vivo.We summarized the recent 5 years of different research progress on clinical applications and antitumor mechanisms of TCM in the treatment of lung cancer. As a potent adjuvant therapy,TCM could enhance conventional treatments(chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and epidermal growth factor receptors[EGFRs]tyrosine kinase inhibitors[TKIs])effects as well as provide synergistic effects, enhance chemotherapy drugs chemosensitivity, reverse drug resistance, reduce adverse reactions and toxicity, relieve patients’pain and improve quality of life(QOL).After treating with TCM,lung cancer cells will induce apoptosis and/or autophagy, suppress metastasis, impact immune reaction, and therapeutic effect of EGFR-TKIs.Therefore,TCM is a promisingly potent adjuvant therapy in the treatment of lung cancer and its multiple mechanisms are worthy of an in-depth study. | Xiao-Lin Su Jiang-Wei Wang Hui Che Chang-Fu Wang Hai Jiang Xia Lei Wan Zhao Hai-Xue Kuang Qiu-Hong Wang | 2020 | Chinese Medical Journal2020,,24: | 16

Fabrication of gold nanoparticles with different morphologies in HEPES buffer显示文摘Gold nanoparticles with different morphologies, such as spindle, octahedron, and decahedron were obtained by using different molar ratios of HAuCl4/HEPES in the presence and absence of surfactants at room temperature. These nanoparticles were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD), transmission electron microscopy(TEM), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy(HRTEM), scanning electron microcopy(SEM), energy-dispersive X-rays analysis(EDX), and selected area electron diffraction(SAED).The kinetics of the formation of gold nanoparticles in HEPES buffer was studied by UV-visible spectrophotometer. The formation of gold nanoparticles was strongly dependent on the concentration of HEPES and pH value. The surfactants play a crucial role in the size and shape controlled synthesis of gold nanoparticles. | CHEN Rong WU Jiliang LI Hui CHENG Gang LU Zhong CHE Chi-Ming | 2010 | Rare Metals2010,29,2: | 5
Microwave ablation of primary breast cancer inhibits metastatic progression in model mice via activation of natural killer cells显示文摘Surgery is essential for controlling the symptoms and complications of stage IV breast cancer. However, locoregional treatment of primary tumors often results in distant progression, including lung metastasis, the most common type of visceral metastasis. As a minimally invasive thermal therapy, microwave ablation(MWA)has been attempted in the treatment of breast cancer, but the innate immune response after MWA has not yet been reported.Using two murine models of stage IV breast cancer,we found that MWA of primary breast cancer inhibited the progression of lung metastasis and improved survival.NK cells were activated after MWA of the primary tumor and exhibited enhanced cytotoxic functions, and the cytotoxic pathways of NK cells were activated.Depletion experiments showed that NK cells but not CD4+or CD8+T cells played a pivotal role in prolonging survival. Then,we found that compared with surgery or control treatment,MWA of the primary tumor induced completely different NK-cell-related cytokine profiles.Macrophages were activated after MWA of the primary tumor and produced IL-15 that activated NK cells to inhibit the progression of metastasis. In addition,MWA of human breast cancer stimulated an autologous NK-cell response. These results demonstrate that MWA of the primary tumor in metastatic breast cancer inhibits metastatic progression via the macrophage/IL-15/NK-cell axis.MWA of the primary tumor may be a promising treatment strategy for de novo stage IV breast cancer, although further substantiation is essential for clinical testing. | Muxin Yu Hong Pan Nan Che Li Li Cong Wang Yue Wang Ge Ma Mengjia Qian Jiawei Liu Mingjie Zheng Hui Xie Lijun Ling Yi Zhao Xiaoxiang Guan Qiang Ding Wenbin Zhou Shui Wang | 2021 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2021,18,9: | 5
One-Dimensional Magnetic FeCoNi Alloy Toward Low-Frequency Electromagnetic Wave Absorption显示文摘Rational designing of one-dimensional(1D)magnetic alloy to facilitate electromagnetic(EM)wave attenuation capability in low-frequency(2-6 GHz)microwave absorption field is highly desired but remains a significant challenge. In this study,a composite EM wave absorber made of a FeCoNi medium-entropy alloy embedded in a 1D carbon matrix framework is rationally designed through an improved electrospinning method. The 1D-shaped FeCoNi alloy embedded composite demonstrates the high-density and continuous magnetic network using off-axis electronic holography technique, indicating the excellent magnetic loss ability under an external EM field. Then, the in-depth analysis shows that many factors, including 1D anisotropy and intrinsic physical features of the magnetic medium-entropy alloy, primarily contribute to the enhanced EM wave absorption performance. Therefore, the fabricated EM wave absorber shows an increasing effective absorption band of 1.3 GHz in the low-frequency electromagnetic field at an ultrathin thickness of 2 mm.Thus, this study opens up a new method for the design and preparation of high-performance 1D magnetic EM absorbers. | Bintong Yang Jiefeng Fang Chunyang Xu Hui Cao Ruixuan Zhang Biao Zhao Mengqiu Huang Xiangyu Wang Hualiang Lv Renchao Che | 2022 | Nano-Micro Letters2022,14,10: | 4
Tojapride Reverses Esophageal Epithelial Inflammatory Responses on Reflux Esophagitis Model Rats显示文摘Objective To investigate the mechanism of Tojapride,a Chinese herbal formula extract,on strengthening the barrier function of esophageal epithelium in rats with reflux esophagitis(RE).Methods Ten out of 85 SD rats were randomly selected as the sham group(n10),and 75 rats were developed a reflux esophagitis model(RE)by the esophageal and duodenal side-to-side anastomosis.Fifty successful modeling rats were divided into different medicated groups through a random number table including the model,low-,medium-,and high-dose of Tojapride as well as omeprazole groups(n10).Three doses of Tojapride[5.73,11.46,22.92 g/(kg•d)]and omeprazole[4.17 mg/(kg•d)]were administrated intragastrically twice daily for 3 weeks. And the rats in the sham and model groups were administered 10 mL/kg distilled water.Gastric fluid was collected and the supernatant was kept to measure for volume,pH value and acidity.Esophageal tissues were isolated to monitor the morphological changes through hematoxylin-eosin(HE)staining,and esophageal epithelial ultrastructure was observed by transmission electron microscopy. The expressions of nuclear factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer of activated B cells p65(NF-KBp65),κB kinase beta(IKKß),occludin, and zonula occludens-1(ZO-1)in the esophageal tissues were measured by immunohistochemistry and Western blot, respectively. Results The gastric pH value in the model group was significantly lower than the sham group(P<0.05).Compared with the model group, gastric pH value in the omeprazole and medium-dose of Tojapride groups were significantly higher(P<0.05).A large area of ulceration was found on the esophageal mucosa from the model rats, while varying degrees of congestion and partially visible erosion was observed in the remaining groups.Remarkable increase in cell gap width and decrease in desmosome count was seen in RE rats and the effect was reversed by Tojapride treatment.Compared with the sham group, the IKKßlevels were significantly higher in the model group(P<0.05).However,the IKKßlevels were down-regulated after treatment by all doses of Tojapride(P<0.01 or P<0.05).The occluding and ZO-1 levels decreased in the model group compared with the sham group(Ps0.01 or Ps0.05),while both indices were significantly up-regulated in the Tojapride-treated groups(P<0.01 or P<0.05).Conclusions Tojapride could improve the pathological conditions of esophageal epithelium in RE rats. The underlying mechanisms may involve in down-regulating the IKKßexpression and elevating ZO-1 and occludin expression, thereby alleviating the inflammation of the esophagus and strengthening the barrier function of the esophageal epithelium. | YIN Xiao-lan ZHONG Linda LIN Cheng-yuan SHI Xiao-shuang ZHANG Jiao CHEN Zheng-yi CHE Hui MA Xiang-xue TIAN Ya-xin DUAN Yuan-zhi LU Lin Jl Hai-jie ZHAO Ying-pan TANG Xu-dong WANG Feng-yun | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Integrative Medicine2021,27,8: | 4

Effectiveness of a hydroxynaphthoquinone fraction from Arnebia euchroma in rats with experimental colitis显示文摘AIM:To evaluate the potential effectiveness of hydroxynaphthoquinone mixture(HM)in rats with 2,4,6-trinitrobenzene sulfonic acid(TNBS)-induced colitis.METHODS:Colitis was induced by intracolonic administration of TNBS(80 mg/kg,dissolved in 50%ethanol).Rats were treated daily for 7 d with HM(2.5,5,10 mg/kg)and mesalazine 100 mg/kg 24 h after TNBS instillation.Disease progression was monitored daily by observation of clinical signs and body weight change. At the end of the experiment, macroscopic and histopathologic lesions of rats were scored, and myeloperoxidase(MPO)activity was determined. We also determined inflammatory cytokine tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-αlevel by ELISA,Western blotting and immunochemistry to explore the potential mechanisms of HM.RESULTS:After intracolonic instillation of TNBS,animals developed colitis associated with soft stool, diarrhea and marked colonic destruction.Administration of HM significantly attenuated clinical and histopathologic severity of TNBS-induced colitis in a dose-dependent manner. It abrogated body weight loss, diarrhea and inflammation, decreased macroscopic damage score, and improved histological signs, with a significant reduction of inflammatory infiltration, ulcer size and the severity of goblet cell depletion(all P<0.05 vs TNBS alone group).HM could reduce MPO activity. In addition,it also decreased serum TNF-αlevel and down-regulated TNF-αexpression in colonic tissue. This reduction was statistically significant when the dose of HM was 10 mg/kg(P<0.05 vs TNBS alone group),and the effect was comparable to that of mesalazine and showed no apparent adverse effect. The underlying mechanism may be associated with TNF-αinhibition.CONCLUSION:These findings suggest that HM possesses favourable therapeutic action in TNBS-induced colitis, which provides direct pharmacological evidence for its clinical application. | Hua-Ying Fan Zi-Liang Zhang Ke Liu Ming-Yan Yang Wei-Hong Lv Xin Che Hui Xu Wei-Wei Song | 2013 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2013,19,48: | 3

Parthenolide inhibits the proliferation and induces the apoptosis of human uveal melanoma cells显示文摘AIM: To explore the effect of parthenolide(PTL) on human uveal melanoma(UM) cells(C918 and SP6.5 cells) and its molecular mechanism. METHODS: Carboxyfluorescein succinimidyl amino ester(CFSE) assays and cell counting kit-8(CCK-8) were performed to detect the cell viability. Flow cytometry was used to analyze cell cycle and apoptosis. Quantitative realtime polymerase chain reaction(qRT-PCR) and Western blot assays were performed to measure proliferation-related and apoptosis-related factors.RESULTS: Firstly, PTL decreased the viability of C918 and SP6.5 cells in a dose-dependent manner, and the effect of PTL on C918 cells was stronger than on SP6.5;however, it did not affect normal cells. Secondly, PTL increased the proportion of cell number at cell cycle G1 phase in C918 cells, and decreased the proportion of cell number at S phase, but the proportion did not change at G2 phase. In addition, PTL induced the apoptosis of C918 cells, and decreased the expressions of Cyclin D1, B-cell lymphoma-2(Bcl-2) and B-cell lymphoma-extra large(Bcl-XL). Also, PTL increased Cyclin inhibition protein 1(P21), Bcl-2-associated X protein(Bax), Cysteinyl aspartate specific proteinas-3(Caspase-3) and Caspase-9 expression. However, the expression of Caspase-8 was not changed. CONCLUSION: PTL inhibites proliferation and induces apoptosis in UM cells by arresting G1 phase and regulating mitochondrial pathway, however, it does not affect normal cells. | Song-Tian Che Li Bie Xu Li Hui Qi Peng Yu Ling Zuo | 2019 | International Journal of Ophthalmology(English edition)2019,12,10: | 3
Subtyping of type A influenza by sequencing the variable regions of HA gene specifically amplified with RT-PCR显示文摘The outbreak of a novel influenza A(H1N1) virus across the globe poses a threat to human health. It is of paramount importance to develop a rapid, reliable and inexpensive diagnostic procedure.Based on the bioinformatic information from public database, primers specific for influenza A virus surface protein haemagglutinin(HA) of several subtypes(including H1,H2,H3,H5,H7 and H9) were designed.Primer-specific PCR products were subjected to sequencing for accurately distinguishing H1 and H3 subtypes from others. This sequencing-based detection method will not only be applied to rapid detection and simultaneous subtype identification of new influenza A virus H1N1,but also provide the strategies to monitor other new types ofinfluenza virus with explosive potential. | YAN An DING GuoHui ZHOU ZhenFeng DONG Hui ZHANG YaKun ZHU Lei HE YunGang ZHANG GuoQing LI YiXue SUN Bing HUANG Zhong LAN Ke JIN Li WANG HongYan WANG XiaoNing YANG Zhong ZHONG Yang DAI JianXin GUO YaJun WANG Hao CHE XiaoYan WU Fan YUAN ZhenGan ZHANG Xi CAO ZhiWei ZHOU XiaoNong ZHOU JiaHai MA ZhiYong TONG GuangZhi ZHAO GuoPing JIN WeiRong XIONG Hui | 2009 | Chinese Science Bulletin2009,54,13: | 3

OPERATIONAL TROPICAL CYCLONE FORECAST VERIFICATION PRACTICE IN THE WESTERN NORTH PACIFIC REGION显示文摘This paper summarizes results of a survey of the operational status of tropical cyclone(TC) forecast verifi-cation in the western North Pacific region, covering the Members of the ESCAP/WMO Typhoon Committee, RSMC Tokyo-Typhoon Center, and JTWC. Results of the survey indicate that significant efforts have been focused on the verification of TC forecast guidance by operational forecast agencies in the region, either individually or through international cooperation. A variety of TC forecast verification products are available to the forecasters in either real time or in post-season through multiple means, with the main focus on the deterministic track and intensity forecasts. Only a few verification products are available for probabilistic forecasts. Verification of TC precipitation and high wind forecasts are also lacking sufficient attention in the region. It would be helpful in the future to focus more attention toward these aspects and incorporate methods that will provide a greater depth of information regarding the TC forecast performance. | HUI YU SAI TICK CHAN BARBARA BROWN MASASHI KUNITSUGU EDWARD FUKADA SANGWOOK PARK WOOJEONG LEE YINGLONG XU PEOU PHALLA BOUNTEUMSYSOUPHANTHAVONG SAU WA CHANG CHE GAYAH ISMAIL RENITO BPACIENTE PATRICIA EE CHAMNONG KAEOCHADA HOA VO VAN | 2012 | Tropical Cyclone Research and Review2012,1,3: | 3

Leucine modulates the IPEC-J2 cell proteome associated with cell proliferation, metabolism and phagocytosis显示文摘Leucine can affect intestinal protein expressions, and improve mucosal immune function. However, little study has been conducted to determine the change of protein component by leucine treatment in intestine epithelial cells. The present study was to cover the key proteins and cell pathways that could be regulated by leucine treatment in porcine intestinal epithelial cell line(IPEC-J2) cells with the approach of proteome analysis. A total number of 3,211 proteins were identified in our approach by searching the database of Uniprot sus scrofa. Among identified proteins, there were 101 proteins expressed differently between control group and leucine group. Compared with the control group, there were 50 up-regulated proteins and 51 down-regulated proteins in leucine group. In these proteins, leucine treatment decreased the expression of some proteins including pyruvate kinase, glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase,E3 ubiquitin ligase, cathepsin D, caspase 3 and caspase 6, and increased the levels of some proteins, such as some eukaryotic translation initiation factors, ubiquitin carboxyl-terminal hydrolase, DNA-related RNA polymerase II, urokinase plasminogen activator, cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor 2 b, Mut L homolog 1,5-methylcytosine binding domain 4, polymerase d, a-tubulin, syntaxin 18, Ras homolog D, actin related protein 2/3 complex and cofilin. Via the analysis of Gene Ontology and pathways, these proteins in IPECJ2 cells were related with some physiological functions, such as protein metabolism, glycolysis, cell proliferation, apoptosis and phagocytosis. Thus, these results suggest that leucine affects gut barrier function possibly via regulating cell proliferation and apoptosis, metabolism and phagocytosis. | Xiangbing Mao Man Ren Daiwen Chen Bing Yu Lianqiang Che Jun He Junqiu Luo Yuheng Luo Jianping Wang Hui Sun | 2018 | Animal Nutrition2018,,3: | 2
