1Field evaluation of effects of transgenic cry1Ab/cry1Ac,cry1C and cry2A rice on Cnaphalocrocis medinalis and its arthropod predators显示文摘The impacts of transgenic Bt rice on target pests and their predators need to be clarified prior to the commercialization of Bt rice.In this study,the percentages of folded leaves of three transgenic Bt rice lines and non-transgenic parental rice line caused by Cnaphalocrocis medinalis were studied over two successive growing seasons.In addition,the population densities,relative abundance and population dynamics of C.medinalis and four species of its natural arthropod predators were investigated at three sites in China.The results showed that rice line significantly affected the percentages of folded leaves and population densities of C.medinalis larvae.Significantly higher percentages of folded leaves were observed on the non-transgenic rice compared with the three transgenic Bt rice on most sampling dates.Significantly higher densities of C.medinalis larvae and higher relative abundance of C.medinalis within phytophages were found on non-transgenic rice compared with three transgenic Bt rice at different sites across the study period.The population dynamics of C.medinalis larvae were significantly affected by rice line,rice line×sampling date,rice line×year,rice line×sampling date×year.However,there was little,if any,significant difference in the relative abundance,population density and population dynamics of the four arthropod predators between the three Bt rice lines and non-transgenic rice.The results of this study indicate that the Bt toxin in transgenic Bt rice can effectively suppress the occurrence of C.medinalis,but has no significant effects on the occurrence of the four predatory arthropod species.XU XueLiang HAN Yu WU Gang CAI WanLun YUAN BenQi WANG Hui LIU FangZhou WANG ManQun HUA HongXia 2011Science China(Life Sciences)2011,54,11:14
2Application of next-generation sequencing technology to precision medicine in cancer: joint consensus of the Tumor Biomarker Committee of the Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology显示文摘Next-generation sequencing(NGS) technology is capable of sequencing millions or billions of DNA molecules simultaneously.Therefore, it represents a promising tool for the analysis of molecular targets for the initial diagnosis of disease, monitoring of disease progression, and identifying the mechanism of drug resistance. On behalf of the Tumor Biomarker Committee of the Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology(CSCO) and the China Actionable Genome Consortium(CAGC), the present expert group hereby proposes advisory guidelines on clinical applications of NGS technology for the analysis of cancer driver genes for precision cancer therapy. This group comprises an assembly of laboratory cancer geneticists, clinical oncologists, bioinformaticians,pathologists, and other professionals. After multiple rounds of discussions and revisions, the expert group has reached a preliminary consensus on the need of NGS in clinical diagnosis, its regulation, and compliance standards in clinical sample collection. 3Toxicity evaluation in a paper recycling mill effluent by coupling bioindicator of aging with the toxicity identification evaluation method in nematode Caenorhabditis elegans显示文摘Toxicity identification evaluation (TIE) can be used to determine the specific toxicant(s) in industrial effluents.In the current study,the authors have attempted to combine the advantages of the model organism,Caenorhabditis elegans,with the virtues of the TIE technique,to evaluate and identify the toxicity on aging from a paper recycling mill effluent.The results indicate that only the toxicities from mixed cellulose (MC) filtration and EDTA treatment are similar to the baseline aging toxicity,suggesting that the suspect toxicants inducing aging toxicity may largely be the heavy metal substances in this industrial effluent.Examination of the accumulation of intestinal autofluorescence in adult animals further confirms that the short lifespans are actually due to accelerated aging.In addition,exposure to fractions of EDTA manipulations cannot result in severe defects of reproduction and locomotion behaviors in C.elegans.Moreover,high levels of Ca,Al,and Fe in the effluent may account for the severe toxicity on aging of exposed nematodes,by TIE assay.The study here provides a new method for evaluating environmental risk and identifying toxicant(s) from the industrial effluent using C.elegans.WANG, Xiaoyi SHEN, Lulu YU, Hongxia WANG, Dayong 2008Journal of Environmental Sciences2008,20,11:11
4Reuse of Fenton sludge as an iron source for NiFe_2O_4 synthesis and its application in the Fenton-based process显示文摘The potentially hazardous iron-containing sludge from the Fenton process requires proper treatment and disposal, which often results in high treatment cost. In this study, a novel method for the reuse of Fenton sludge as an iron source for the synthesis of nickel ferrite particles(NiFe_2O_4) is proposed. Through a co-precipitation method followed by sintering at 800°C, magnetic NiFe_2O_4 particles were successfully synthesized, which was confirmed by powder X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electronic microscopy(SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy(EDS), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR) and Raman spectroscopy. The synthesized NiFe_2O_4 could be used as an efficient catalyst in the heterogeneous Fenton process. In phenol degradation with H_2O_2 or NiFe_2O_4 alone, the phenol removal efficiencies within the reaction time of 330 min were as low as 5.9% ± 0.1% and 13.5% ±0.4%, respectively. However, in the presence of both NiFe_2O_4 and H_2O_2, phenol removal efficiency as high as 95% ± 3.4% could be achieved, indicating the excellent catalytic performance of NiFe_2O_4 in the heterogeneous Fenton process. Notably, a rapid electron exchange between_Ni II and_Fe III ions in the NiFe_2O_4 structure could be beneficial for the Fenton reaction. 5Secretory/releasing proteome-based identification of plasma biomarkers in HBV-associated hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘For successful therapy, hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) must be detected at an early stage. Herein, we used a proteomic approach to analyze the secretory/releasing proteome of HCC tissues to identify plasma biomarkers. Serum-free conditioned media (CM) were collected from primary cultures of cancerous tissues and surrounding noncancerous tissues. Proteomic analysis of the CM proteins permitted the identification of 1365 proteins. The enriched molecular functions and biological processes of the CM proteins, such as hydrolase activity and catabolic processes, were consistent with the liver being the most important metabolic organ. Moreover, 19% of the proteins were characterized as extracellular or membrane-bound. For validation, secretory proteins involved in transforming growth factor-β signaling pathways were validated in plasma samples. Alphafetoprotein (AFP), metalloproteinase (MMP)1, osteopontin (OPN), and pregnancy-specific beta-1-glycoprotein (PSG)9 were significantly increased in HCC patients. The overall performance of MMP1 and OPN in the diagnosis of HCC remained greater than that of AFP. In addition, this study represents the first report of MMP1 as a biomarker with a higher sensitivity and specificity than AFP. Thus, this study provides a valuable resource of the HCC secretome with the potential to investigate serological biomarkers. 6Modeling and boundary control of a flexible marine riser coupled with internal fluid dynamics显示文摘In this paper, vibration reduction of a flexible marine riser with time-varying internal fluid is studied by using boundary control method and Lyapunov's direct method. To achieve more accurate and practical riser's dynamic behavior, the model of marine riser with time-varying internal fluid is modeled by a distributed parameter system (DPS) with partial differential equations (PDEs) and ordinary differential equations (ODEs) involving functions of space and time. The dynamic responses of riser are completely different if the time-varying internal fluid is considered. Boundary control is designed at the top boundary of the riser based on original infinite dimensionality PDEs model and Lyapunov's direct method to reduce the riser's vibrations. The uniform boundedness and closed-loop stability are proved based on the proposed boundary control. 7Reproductive toxicity of organic extracts from petrochemical plant effluents discharged to the Yangtze River,China显示文摘Water pollution of the Yangtze River in China became one of challenges that the government is facing today.Increasing numbers of petrochemical plants were built along the river in past decades,and numbers of organic chemicals were discharged into the river.Our goal was to establish in vitro system on rat sertoli cells,spermatogenic cells and leydig cells to investigate the reproductive toxicity potential induced by organic extracts from petrochemical effluents.Our results showed that the organic extract depressed the viability(p<0.01) and destroyed the plasma membrane integrity of sertoli cells and spermatogenic cells to a certain degree.Accordingly,proportion of early apoptotic sertoli cells and late apoptotic spermatogenic cells increased significantly.Although significant morphological changes were not detected for leydig cells,the extract was observed to inhibit their testosterone production(p<0.01).Sertoli cells and spermatogenic cells appeared to be more sensitive and maybe the main targets of the key toxins.These results suggested that the in vitro system on rat testicular cells may be useful to predicate reproductive toxicity potential of organic extracts from petrochemical effluents.More attention should be paid to the petrochemical effluents,because long-term accumulation of these organic compounds in organisms may cause spermatogenesis malfunction and testosterone reduction.Xiaoyi Wang Wei Shi Jiang Wu Yingqun Hao Guanjiu Hu Hongling Liu Xiaodong Han Hongxia Yu 2010Journal of Environmental Sciences2010,22,2:7
8Industrial Spatial Agglomeration Using Distance-based Approach in Beijing, China显示文摘To study the difference of industrial location among different industries, this article is to test the spatial agglomeration across industries and firm sizes at the city level. Our research bases on a unique plant-level data set of Beijing and employs a distance-based approach, which considers space as continuous. Unlike previous studies, we set two sets of references for service and manufacturing industries respectively to adapt to the investigation in the intra-urban area. Comparing among eight types of industries and different firm sizes, we find that: 1) producer service, high-tech industries and labor-intensive manufacturing industries are more likely to cluster, whereas personal service and capital-intensive industries tend to be randomly dispersed in Beijing; 2) the spillover of the co-location of firms is more important to knowledge-intensive industries and has more significant impact on their allocation than business-oriented services in the intra-urban area; 3) the spatial agglomeration of service industries are driven by larger establishments, whereas manufacturing industries are mixed.LI Jiaming ZHANG Wenzhong YU Jianhui CHEN Hongxia 2015Chinese Geographical Science2015,25,6:7
9Probabilistic ecological risk assessment for three chlorophenols in surface waters of China显示文摘Individual and combined assessment of risks of adverse effects to aquatic ecosystems of three chlorophenols(CPs),including 2,4dichlorophenol(2,4-DCP),2,4,6-trichlorophenol(2,4,6-TCP) and pentachlorophenol(PCP),were conducted.A probabilistic approach based on the concentrations of CPs in surface waters of China was used to determine the likelihood of adverse effects.The potential risk of CPs in surface waters of China was determined to be of concern,especially PCP and mixtures of CPs.The risks of adverse effects were examined as the joint probabilities of exposure and response.The joint probability for PCP was 0.271 in the worst case and 0.111 in the median case,respectively.Based on the cumulative probability,5% of aquatic organisms included in the assessment would be affected 21.36% of the time in the worst case and 5.99% of the time in median case,respectively.For the mixtures of CPs,the joint probability were 0.171 in the worst case and 0.503 in median case,respectively and 5% of species would be affected 49.83% of the time for the worst case and 12.72% in the median case,respectively.Risks of effects of the individual CPs,2,4-DCP and 2,4,6-TCP were deemed to be acceptable with a overlapping probability of < 0.1 with 5% of species being affected less than 4% of the time.Liqun Xing Hongling Liu John E Giesy Xiaowei Zhang Hongxia Yu 2012Journal of Environmental Sciences2012,24,2:7
10Effects of dissolved organic matter from sewage sludge on sorption of tetrabromobisphenol A by soils显示文摘Sorption of tetrabromobisphenol A (TBBPA) by soil influences its fate and transport in the environment. The presence of dissolved organic matter (DOM) may complicate the sorption process in soil. The effects of DOM from sewage sludge on TBBPA sorption by three soils were investigated using batch equilibration experiments in the study. DOM was observed to be sorbed on the soils and the isotherms could be fitted by the Langmuir model. The effects of DOM on TBBPA sorption were dependent on the characteristics of soils and the concentrations of DOM present. TBBPA sorption by Henan (HN) soil (sandy loam) and Liaoning (LN) soil (loamy clay) was promoted in the presence of DOM at low concentration ( 90 mg organic carbon (OC)/L), and the sorption was promoted by HN soil and inhibited by LN soil at DOM added concentration of 180 mg OC/L. TBBPA sorption by Guangxi (GX) soil (silt loam) was always inhibited in the presence of DOM. It was also found that the amount of TBBPA sorbed decreased with the increase in the solution pH value in the absence of DOM. 13Hot deformation behavior and workability characteristic of a fine-grained Mg–8Sn–2Zn–2Al alloy with processing map显示文摘The hot deformation behavior of a fine-grained Mg–8 Sn–2 Zn–2 Al(TZA822, in wt%) alloy was investigated in the temperature range of 150–350°C and the strain rate of 0.01–10 s^-1 employing thermomechanical simulator. In most of the cases, the material showed typical dynamic recrystallization(DRX) features i.e., a signal peak value followed by a gradual decrease or to reach a steady state. The work hardening rate was found to increase with decreasing temperature and increasing strain rate, while strain rates had great effects on work hardening behavior. Meanwhile, the constitutive analysis indicated that cross-slip of dislocations was likely to be the dominant deformation mechanism. In addition, the processing map at the strain of 0.1–0.7 showed two stability domains with high power dissipation efficiencies and the optimum hot working parameters for the studied alloy was determined to be 350°C/0.01 s^-1 and 350°C/10 s^-1, at which continuous DRX(CDRX) and discontinuous DRX(DDRX) as main softening mechanism. 14Vesicular Li3V2(PO4)3/C hollow mesoporous microspheres as an efficient cathode material for lithium-ion batteries显示文摘Vesicular lithium vanadium phosphate/carbon hollow mesoporous microspheres were fabricated using a facile polyvinylpyrrolidone-assisted aerosol-spray-assisted method and subsequent heat-treatment. While changing the content of polyvinylpyrrolidone, we found that carbon content was adjustable on the surface of lithium vanadium phosphate. By optimizing the carbon content among the composites, the electrochemical performance can be enhanced significantly. The results of electrochemical performance tests suggested that the samples exhibited good cycle performance and high discharge capability in the voltages between 3.0-4.8 V. 15Experimental study of low-damage drilling fluid to minimize waterblocking of low-permeability gas reservoirs显示文摘This paper discusses the systematic design and development of low-damage drilling fluid to protect the low-permeability gas reservoir of the Sulige block in the Ordos Basin,Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region,China.Based on investigation of the geological characteristics and the potential formation damage of the Permian formation of the reservoir,waterblocking due to invasion of drilling or completion fluids was identified one of the most severe causes of damage to gas well deliverability.By adopting the phase trap prevention method,ideal packing theory,and film-forming technology,a low- damage drilling fluid,sodium formate brine containing efficient waterblocking preventing surfactants, optimized temporary bridging agents(TBAs),and film-forming agents has been developed.The performance of the new drilling fluid was evaluated by using a variety of techniques.The results show that the fluid has good rheological properties,good strong shale-swelling inhibition,good temporary plugging effect,ultra-low filtration,and good lubricity.It can efficiently minimize waterblocking and can be used to drill horizontal wells with minimal intervention of the reservoir in the Sulige Gas Field.Zhang Hongxia Yan Jienian Lu Yu Shu Yong Zhao Shengying 2009Petroleum Science2009,6,3:4

17Open N-doped carbon coated porous molybdenum phosphide nanorods for synergistic catalytic hydrogen evolution reaction显示文摘Molybdenum phosphide is a potential hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)catalyst.However,traditional high-temperature phosphating preparation methods are prone to damage of material morphology and agglomeration.Using the carbon skeleton to limit the size and morphology of MoP and to improve the conductivity of the material is an effective method to improve the performance of the catalyst.However,there is a lack of research on the effect of carbon skeleton and MoP composite structure on the catalytic mechanism of HER.We coated ZIF-8 on the surface of MoP nanorods,and obtained open N-doped carbon-coated porous MoP nanorods(N/C/MoP)through carbonization and phosphating.Studies have shown that the ZIF-8 coating effectively limits the size and morphology of the material and avoids agglomeration.Under alkaline conditions,N/C/MoP has a low overpotential of 169 mV for HER at 10 mA/cm2,which is 55 mV lower than MoP without a carbon layer.At the same time,its Tafel slope(51.3 mV/dec)is smaller than Pt/C(59.9 mV/dec),and it has good stability.Density functional theory(DFT)studies have shown that under alkaline conditions,there is a synergistic effect between the open N-doped carbon layer and the exposed MoP active surface,which reduces the activation energy of water and improves the catalytic performance of HER.It is worth noting that a tight coating will hinder the exposure of active sites and reduce catalytic activity.Chao Wang Wen Li Xiaodan Wang Nan Yu Hongxia Sun Baoyou Geng 2022Nano Research2022,15,3:3
18CD146 as a promising therapeutic target for retinal and choroidal neovascularization diseases显示文摘Blood vessel dysfunction causes several retinal diseases,including diabetic retinopathy,familial exudative vitreoretinopathy,macular degeneration and choroidal neovascularization in pathological myopia.Vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)-neutralizing proteins provide benefits in most of those diseases,yet unsolved haemorrhage and frequent intraocular injections still bothered patients.Here,we identified endothelial CD146 as a new target for retinal diseases.CD146 expression was activated in two ocular pathological angiogenesis models,a laser-induced choroid neovascularization model and an oxygeninduced retinopathy model.The absence of CD146 impaired hypoxia-induced cell migration and angiogenesis both in cell lines and animal model.Preventive or therapeutic treatment with anti-CD146 antibody AA98 significantly inhibited hypoxia-induced aberrant retinal angiogenesis in two retinal disease models.Mechanistically,under hypoxia condition,CD146 was involved in the activation of NFκB,Erk and Akt signalling pathways,which are partially independent of VEGF.Consistently,anti-CD146therapy combined with anti-VEGF therapy showed enhanced impairment effect of hypoxia-induced angiogenesis in vitro and in vivo.Given the critical role of abnormal angiogenesis in retinal and choroidal diseases,our results provide novel insights into combinatorial therapy for neovascular fundus diseases.Bai Xue Ping Wang Wenzhen Yu Jing Feng Jie Li Rulian Zhao Zhenglin Yang Xiyun Yan Hongxia Duan 2022Science China(Life Sciences)2022,65,6:3
19Preparation of SiC Porous Ceramics by Crystalline Silicon Cutting Waste显示文摘SiC porous ceramics were prepared at 1 400 ℃ for4 h with crystalline silicon cutting waste and activated carbon as main starting materials and NH_4HCO_3 as the pore-forming agent. Effects of NH_4HCO_3 additions( 0,20%,30%,40%,by mass) on the phase composition,microstructure,sintering properties,cold compressive strength and thermal shock resistance of as-prepared Si C porous ceramics were investigated. The results show that:( 1) addition of NH_4HCO_3 remarkably influences the apparent porosity and cold compressive strength of specimens. The apparent porosity achieves its maximum value( 63. 40%) when 40% NH_4HCO_3 is added,while the minimum cold compressive strength is 4. 77 MPa;( 2) the specimen with 40% NH_4HCO_3 has the best thermal shock resistance. 20Three-Dimensional Quantitative Structure-Activity Relationships of flavonoids and estrogen receptors based on docking显示文摘Flavonoids are endocrine disrupting compounds that occur ubiquitously in foods of plant origin.The Three-Dimensional Quantitative Structure-Activity Relationships (3D-QSAR) model based on ligand-receptor docking is established between 20 flavonoids and estrogen receptor alpha (ERα),which may provide further theoretical basis for research on the relationship between flavones and estrogen.Comparative molecular field analysis (CoMFA) was employed and the best results of cross-validation and non cross validation were 0.845 and 0.988,respectively.Correspondingly,molecular similarity index analysis (CoMSIA) was employed and the results of cross-validation and non cross validation were 0.670 and 0.990,respectively.The CoMFA/CoMSIA and docking results reveal the structural features for estrogen activity and key amino acid residues in binding pocket,and provide an insight into the interaction between the ligands and these amino acid residues.WU Yang WANG Yong ZHANG AiQian YU HongXia WANG LianSheng 2010Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,15:3
