1Changes in global potential vegetation distributions from 1911 to 2000 as simulated by the Comprehensive Sequential Classification System approach显示文摘Vegetation classification models play an important role in studying the response of the terrestrial ecosystem to global climate change. In this paper, we study changes in global Potential Natural Vegetation (PNV) distributions using the Comprehensive Sequential Classification System (CSCS) approach, a technique that combines geographic information systems. Results indicate that on a global scale there are good agreements among maps produced by the CSCS method and the globally well-accepted Holdridge Life Zone (HLZ) and BIOME4 PNV models. The potential vegetation simulated by the CSCS approach has 6 major latitudinal zones in the northern hemisphere and 2 in the southern hemisphere. In mountainous areas it has obvious altitudinal distribution characteristics due to topographic effects. The distribution extent for different PNV classes at various periods has different characteristics. It had a decreasing trend for the tundra and alpine steppe, desert, sub-tropical forest and tropical forest categories, and an increasing trend for the temperate forest and grassland vegetation categories. The simulation of global CSCS-based PNV classes helps to understand climate-vegetation relationships and reveals the dynamics of potential vegetation distributions induced by global changes. 2The mixing of multi-source fluids in the Wusihe Zn–Pb ore deposit in Sichuan Province, Southwestern China显示文摘The Sichuan-Yunnan-Guizhou(SYG)metallogenic province of southwest China is one of the most important Zn-Pb ore zones in China,with^200 Mt ZnPb ores at mean grades of 10 wt.%Zn and 5 wt.%Pb.The source and mechanism of the regional Zn-Pb mineralization remain controversial despite many investigations that have been conducted.The Wusihe Zn-Pb deposit is a representative large-scale Zn-Pb deposit in the northern SYG,which mainly occurs in the Dengying Formation and yields Zn-Pb resources of^3.7 Mt.In this paper,Zn and S isotopes,and Fe and Cd contents of sphalerite from the Wusihe deposit were investigated in an attempt to constrain the controls on Zn and S isotopic variations,the potential sources of ore-forming components,and the possible mineralization mechanisms.Both theδ66Zn andδ34S values in sphalerite from the Wusihe deposit increase systematically from the bottom to the top of the strata-bound orebodies.Such spatial evolution inδ66Zn andδ34S values of sphalerite can be attributed to isotopic Rayleigh fractionation during sphalerite precipitation with temperature variations.The strong correlations between the Zn-S isotopic compositions and Fe-Cd concentrations in sphalerite suggest that their variations were dominated by a similar mechanism.However,the Rayleigh fractionation mechanism cannot explain the spatial variations of Fe and Cd concentrations of sphalerite in this deposit.It is noted that the bottom and top sphalerites from the strata-bound orebodies document contrasting Zn and S isotopic compositions which correspond to the Zn and S isotopic characteristics of basement rocks and host rocks,respectively.Therefore,the mixing of two-source fluids with distinct Zn-S isotopic signatures was responsible for the spatial variations of Zn-S isotopic compositions of sphalerite from the Wusihe deposit.The fluids from basement rocks are characterized by relatively lighter Zn(~0.2‰)and S(~5‰)isotopic compositions while the fluids from host rocks are marked by relatively heavier Zn(~0.6‰)and S(~15‰)isotopic compositions.Hongjie Zhang Haifeng Fan Chaoyi Xiao Hanjie Wen Lin Ye Zhilong Huang Jiaxi Zhou Qingjun Guo 2019Acta Geochimica2019,38,5:6
3An electrodeposition approach to metal/metal oxide heterostructures for active hydrogen evolution catalysts in near-neutral electrolytes显示文摘Neutral water splitting is attractive for its use of non-corrosive and environmentally friendly electrolytes.However,catalyst development for hydrogen and oxygen evolution remains a challenge under neutral conditions.Here we report a simple electrodeposition and reductive annealing procedure to produce a highly active Ni-Co-Cr metal/metal oxide heterostructured catalyst directly on Ni foam.The resulting electrocatalyst for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) requires only 198 mV of overpotential to reach 100 mNcm2 in 1 M potassium phosphate (pH =7.4) and can operate for at least two days without significant performance decay.Scanning transmission electron microscopy coupled with electron energy loss spectroscopy (STEM-EELS) imaging reveals a Ni-Co alloy core decorated with blended oxides layers of NiO,CoO and Cr2O3.The metal/metal oxide interfaces are suggested to be responsible for the high HER activity.Michael J.Kenney Jianan Erick Huang Yong Zhu Yongtao Meng Mingquan Xu Guanzhou Zhu Wei-Hsuan Hung Yun Kuang Mengchang Lin Xiaoming Sun Wu Zhou Hongjie Dai 2019Nano Research2019,12,6:4
4In vivo degradation and endothelialization of an iron bioresorbable scaffold显示文摘Detection of in vivo biodegradation is critical for development of next-generation medical devices such as bioresorbable stents or scaffolds(BRSs).In particular,it is urgent to establish a nondestructive approach to examine in vivo degradation of a new-generation coronary stent for interventional treatment based on mammal experiments;otherwise it is not available to semi-quantitatively monitor biodegradation in any clinical trial.Herein,we put forward a semi-quantitative approach to measure degradation of a sirolimus-eluting iron bioresorbable scaffold(IBS)based on optical coherence tomography(OCT)images;this approach was confirmed to be consistent with the present weight-loss measurements,which is,however,a destructive approach.The IBS was fabricated by a metal-polymer composite technique with a polylactide coating on an iron stent.The efficacy as a coronary stent of this new bioresorbable scaffold was compared with that of a permanent metal stent with the name of trade mark Xience,which has been widely used in clinic.The endothelial coverage on IBS was found to be greater than on Xience after implantation in a rabbit model;and our well-designed ultrathin stent exhibited less individual variation.We further examined degradation of the IBSs in both minipig coronary artery and rabbit abdominal aorta models.The present result indicated much faster iron degradation of IBS in the rabbit model than in the porcine model.The semi-quantitative approach to detect biodegradation of IBS and the finding of the species difference might be stimulating for fundamental investigation of biodegradable implants and clinical translation of the next-generation coronary stents.Wenjiao Lin Hongjie Zhang Wanqian Zhang Haiping Qi Gui Zhang Jie Qian Xin Li Li Qin Haifeng Li Xiang Wang Hong Qiu Xiaoli Shi Wei Zheng Deyuan Zhang Runlin Gao Jiandong Ding 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,4:3
5Distinct transcriptomic landscapes of cutaneous basal cell carcinomas and squamous cell carcinomas显示文摘The majority of non-melanoma skin cancer(NMSC)is cutaneous basal cell carcinoma(BCC)or squamous cell carcinoma(SCC),which are also called keratinocyte carcinomas,as both of them originate from keratinocytes.The incidence of keratinocyte carcinomas is over 5 million per year in the US,three-fold higher than the total incidence of all other types of cancer combined.While there are several reports on gene expression profiling of BCC and SCC,there are significant variations in the reported gene expression changes in different studies.One reason is that tumor-adjacent normal skin specimens were not included in many studies as matched controls.Furthermore,while numerous studies of skin stem cells in mouse models have been reported,their relevance to human skin cancer remains unknown.In this report,we analyzed gene expression profiles of paired specimens of keratinocyte carcinomas with their matched normal skin tissues as the control.Among several novel findings,we discovered a significant number of zinc finger encoding genes up-regulated in human BCC.In BCC,a novel link was found between hedgehog signaling,Wnt signaling,and the cilium.While the SCC cancerstem-cell gene signature is shared between human and mouse SCCs,the hair follicle stem-cell signature of mice was not highly represented in human SCC.Differential gene expression(DEG)in human BCC shares gene signature with both bulge and epidermal stem cells.We have also determined that human BCCs and SCCs have distinct gene expression patterns,and some of them are not fully reflected in current mouse models.Jun Wan Hongji Dai Xiaoli Zhang Sheng Liu Yuan Lin Ally-Khan Somani Jingwu Xie Jiali Han 2021Genes & Diseases2021,8,2:2

7Horizontal and vertical gene transfer drive sediment antibiotic resistome in an urban lagoon system显示文摘Rapid urbanization has resulted in pervasive occurrence of antibiotic resistance genes(ARGs)in urban aquatic ecosystems.However,limited information is available concerning the ARG profiles and the forces responsible for their assembly in urban landscape lagoon systems.Here,we employed high-throughput quantitative PCR(HT-q PCR)to characterize the spatial variations of ARGs in surface and core sediments of Yundang Lagoon,China.The results indicated that the average richness and absolute abundance of ARGs were 11 and 53 times higher in the lagoon sediments as compared to pristine reference Tibetan lake sediments,highlighting the role of anthropogenic activities in ARG pollution.Co-occurrence network analysis indicated that various anaerobic prokaryotic genera belonging to Alpha-,Deltaproteobacteria,Bacteroidetes,Euryarchaeota,Firmicutes and Synergistetes were the potential hosts of ARGs.The partial least squares-path modeling(PLS-PM)analysis revealed positive and negative indirect effects of physicochemical factors and heavy metals on the lagoon ARG profiles,via biotic factors,respectively.The horizontal(mediated by mobile genetic elements)and vertical(mediated by prokaryotic communities)gene transfer may directly contribute the most to drive the abundance and composition of ARGs,respectively.Furthermore,the neutral community model demonstrated that the assembly of sediment ARG communities was jointly governed by deterministic and stochastic processes.Overall,this study provides novel insights into the diversity and distribution of ARGs in the benthic habitat of urban lagoon systems and underlying mechanisms for the spread and proliferation of ARGs.Hongjie Wang Liyuan Hou Yongqin Liu Keshao Liu Lanping Zhang Fuyi Huang Lin Wang Azhar Rashid Anyi Hu Changping Yu 2021Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,4:2

12Mapping of wheat stripe rust resistance gene Yr041133 by BSR-Seq analysis显示文摘Puccinia striiformis Westend. f. sp. tritici(Pst) pathotype CYR34 is widely virulent and prevalent in China.Here, we report identification of a strpie rust resistance(Yr) gene, designated Yr041133, in winter wheat line 041133. This line produced a hypersensitive reaction to CYR34 and conferred resistance to 13 other pathotypes. Resistance to CYR34 in line 041133 was controlled by a single dominant gene. Bulked segregant RNA sequencing(BSR-Seq) was performed on a pair of RNA bulks generated by pooling resistant and susceptible recombinant inbred lines. Yr041133 was mapped to a 1.7 c M genetic interval on the chromosome arm 7 BL that corresponded to a 0.8 Mb physical interval(608.9–609.7 Mb) in the Chinese Spring reference genome. 13A novel multistage anoxic/aerobic process with sludge regeneration zone (R-MAO) for advanced nitrogen removal from domestic sewage显示文摘To achieve advanced nitrogen removal from actual municipal sewage,a novel multistage anoxic/aerobic process with sludge regeneration zone(R-MAO)was developed.The reactor was used to treat actual domestic sewage and the nitrogen removal capacity of the sludge regeneration zone(R zone)was investigated during the long-term operation.The best performance was obtained at the R zone’s Oxidation-Reduction Potential(ORP)of-50±30 mV and hydraulic residence times(HRT)of 1.2 hr.The average effluent COD,TN,NH_(4)^(+)-N and NO_(3)^(−)-N of the R-MAO process were 18.0±2.3,7.5±0.6,1.0±0.5 and 4.6±0.4 mg/L,respectively,with the corresponding removal efficiency of COD,TN and NH_(4)^(+)-N were 92.9%±1.0%,84.1%±1.5% and 97.5%±1.1%.Compared to the sole MAO system,the TN removal efficiency of the R-MAO increased by 10.1%.Besides,under the optimal conditions,the contribution of the R zone in the R-MAO that removal COD,TN,NH_(4)^(+)-N and NO_(3)^(−)-N were 0.36,0.15,0.032 and 0.82 g/day.High-throughput sequencing results showed that uncultured_bacterium_f_Burkholderiaceae(5.20%),OLB8(1.04%)and Ottowia(1.03%)played an important role in denitrification in the R zone.This study provided effective guidance for the design and operation of the R-MAO process in domestic sewage treatment.Lin Cao Rong Sun Wenyi Dong Hongjie Wang Zhongyi Dai Xue Wang Jin Xie Hua Li 2023Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,2:1

19Production, structure, and bioactivity of polysaccharide isolated from Tremella fuciformis显示文摘Tremella fuciformis polysaccharide(TFP) is an important bioactive substance in T. fuciformis, which contributes to its application as medicine and food. In the present work, TFP was extracted with enzymatic combined with wet beating and its physicochemical as well as biological activities were investigated in the study. The result showed that the purity of TFP1 reached 92.14%(m/m). The TFP1, purified by DEAE column, had a molecular weight(Mw) of 5.8 × 10^(3) k Da and consisted mainly of mannose, xylose, fucose, glucose and glucuronic acid at a molar ratio of 1.91 : 0.1 : 2.49 : 6.23 : 0.95. The structure of TFP1 was preliminarily investigated by infrared spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance and atomic force microscope(AFM) analysis. Moreover, the antioxidant assays showed that TFP1 could scavenge DPPH, ABTS+ and hydroxyl radicals. 20Fabric-substrated capacitive biopotential sensors enhanced by dielectric nanoparticles显示文摘Wearable biopotential sensing devices are essential to long-term and real-time monitoring of human health.Non-contact,capacitive sensing electrodes prevent potential skin iritations,and are thus beneficial for long-term monitoring.Existing capacitive electrodes are either connected to a separate control circuit via external wires or have limited sensing capacitances,which leads to low signal qualities.This study demonstrates a stretchable capacitive sensing device with integrated electrodes and control electronics,with enhanced signal qualities.The electrodes and the control electronics are fabricated on a common fabric substrate for breathability and strain-limiting protection.The stretchable electrodes are based on an island-bridge design with a stretchability as high as-100%,and an area ratio as high as-80%.By using a dielectric calcium copper titanate(CCTO)composite as the adhesive layer,the electrode capacitance can be increased,yielding an enhanced signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)in the acquired biopotentials.This device offers a convenient and comfortable approach for long-term non-contact monitoring of biopotential signals.Xiangjun Chen Xiaoxiang Gao Akihiro Nomoto Keren Shi Muyang Lin Hongjie Hu Yue Gu Yangzhi Zhu Zhuohong Wu Xue Chen Xinyu Wang Baiyan Qi Sai Zhou Hong Ding Sheng Xu 2021Nano Research2021,14,9:1
