2Outline of the Report on Cardiovascular Disease in China,2010显示文摘Major and profound changes have taken place in China over the past 30 years.Rapid socioeconomic progress has exerted a great impact on lifestyle,ranging from food,clothing,working and living conditions,and means of transportation to leisure activities and entertainment.At the same time,new health problems have emerged,and health services are facing new challenges.Presently,cardiovascular diseases (CVD) are among the top health problems of the Chinese people,and pose a serious challenge to all engaged in the prevention and control of these diseases.An epidemic of CVD in China is emerging as a result of lifestyle changes,urbanization and longevity.Both national policy decision-making and medical practice urgently need an authoritative report which comprehensively reflects the trends in the epidemic of CVD and current preventive measures.Since 2005,guided by the Bureau of Disease Prevention of the Ministry of Health of the People's Republic of China and the National Center for Cardiovascular Diseases of China,nationwide experts in the fields of epidemiology,clinical medicine and health economics in the realms of CVD,cerebrovascular disease,diabetes and chronic kidney disease,completed the Report on Cardiovascular Diseases in China every year.The report aims to provide a timely review of the trend of the epidemic and to assess the progress of prevention and control of CVD.In addition,as the report is authoritative,representative and readable,it will become an information platform in the CVD field and an important reference book for government,academic institutes,medical organizations and clinical physicians.This publication is expected to play a positive role in the prevention and control of CVD in China.We present an abstract from the Report on Cardiovascular Diseases in China (2010),including trends in CVD,morbidity and mortality of major CVDs,up-to-date assessment of risk factors,as well as health resources for CVD,and a profile of medical expenditure,with the aim of providing evidence for decision-making in CVD prevention and control programs in China,and of delivering the most authoritative information on CVD prevention and control for all citizens.HUSheng Shou KONG Ling Zhi GAO Run Lin ZHU Man Lu WANG Wen WANG Yong Jun WU Zhao Su CHEN Wei Wei LIU Ming Bo For the editorial board 2012Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2012,25,3:93
3Hybridizing grey wolf optimization with differential evolution for global optimization and test scheduling for 3D stacked SoC显示文摘A new meta-heuristic method is proposed to enhance current meta-heuristic methods for global optimization and test scheduling for three-dimensional(3D) stacked system-on-chip(SoC) by hybridizing grey wolf optimization with differential evolution(HGWO). Because basic grey wolf optimization(GWO) is easy to fall into stagnation when it carries out the operation of attacking prey, and differential evolution(DE) is integrated into GWO to update the previous best position of grey wolf Alpha, Beta and Delta, in order to force GWO to jump out of the stagnation with DE's strong searching ability. The proposed algorithm can accelerate the convergence speed of GWO and improve its performance.Twenty-three well-known benchmark functions and an NP hard problem of test scheduling for 3D SoC are employed to verify the performance of the proposed algorithm. 4A complete sequence and comparative analysis of a SARS-associated virus(Isolate BJ01)显示文摘The genome sequence of the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS)-associated virus provides essential information for the identification of pathogen(s), exploration of etiology and evolution, interpretation of transmission and pathogenesis, development of diagnostics, prevention by future vaccination, and treatment by developing new drugs. We report the complete genome sequence and comparative analysis of an isolate (BJ01) of the coronavirus that has been recognized as a pathogen for SARS. The genome is 29725 nt in size and has 11 ORFs (Open Reading Frames). It is composed of a stable region encoding an RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (composed of 2 ORFs) and a variable region representing 4 CDSs (coding sequences) for viral structural genes (the S, E, M, N proteins) and 5 PUPs (putative uncharacterized proteins). Its gene order is identical to that of other known coronaviruses. The sequence alignment with all known RNA viruses places this virus as a member in the family of Coronaviridae. Thirty putative substitutions have been identified by comparative analysis of the 5 SARS- associated virus genome sequences in GenBank. Fifteen of them lead to possible amino acid changes (non-synonymous mutations) in the proteins. Three amino acid changes, with predicted alteration of physical and chemical features, have been detected in the S protein that is postulated to beinvolved in the immunoreactions between the virus and its host. Two amino acid changes have been detected in the Mprotein, which could be related to viral envelope formation. Phylogenetic analysis suggests the possibility of non-human origin of the SARS-associated viruses but provides noevidence that they are man-made. 5Oxygen depletion off the Changjiang (Yangtze River)Estuary显示文摘In a survey on the Yellow Sea and the East China Sea on August 20-30 of 1999, we found a hypoxic zone (<2 mg/L) of 13700 km2 with an average thickness of 20m at the bottom of the Changjiang (Yangtze River) Estuary, with an oxygen minimum value of 1 mg/L. The extension of the dissolved oxygen deficiency extended to the 100m isobath in a southeastward direction along the bottom of the continental shelf of the East China Sea. During the last two decades, the minimum dissolved oxygen values in the low oxygen region of the Changjiang Estuary have decreased from 2.85 mg/L to 1 mg/L. In the hypoxic zone, the apparent oxygen utilization (AOU) was 5.8 mg/L and the total oxygen depletion approximately 1.59×106 t. The strong halocline above the hypoxic zone, as a result of affluent water from the Changjiang, Taiwan Warm Current (TWC), and the high concentrations of particle organic carbon (POC) and nitrogen (PON) are the major factors causing the formation of the hypoxic zone. 8National trend of gastric cancer mortality in China(2003-2015):a population-based study显示文摘Background:Gastric cancer mortality decreased substantially over the last decades in most countries worldwide.This study aimed to assess the most recent national trend of gastric cancer mortality and examine the disparity of gastric cancer mortality between rural and urban areas in China.Methods:The crude mortality data of gastric cancer by sex,age group,and area were obtained from China Health Statistical Yearbooks(2003-2015)covering 10%of Chinese population.The age-standardized rates of mortality(ASRM)of gastric cancer in rural and urban areas were estimated using the 2010 Chinese Census population stratified by age,sex,and area.The trend of mortality of gastric cancer was assessed by using Joinpoint analysis.Results:During the 13-year period,the ASRM was reduced from 31.5/100,000 in 2003 to 20.9/100,000 in 2015 in rural areas and from 18.9/100,000 in 2003 to 14.5/100,000 in 2015 in urban areas.In the male population,the annual percent changes of mortality were−2.2%in urban areas(95%confidence interval[CI]−3.8%to−0.6%;P<0.001)and−3.4%in rural areas(95%CI−5.1%to−1.8%;P<0.001).In the female population,the annual percent changes of mortality were−2.7%in urban areas(95%CI−4.2%to−1.2%;P<0.001)and−4.6%in rural areas(95%CI−5.5%to−3.7%;P<0.001).Conclusions:The declining trend of mortality of gastric cancer was presented from 2003 to 2015 in both rural and urban areas in China.The decrease in gastric cancer mortality is greater in rural areas than in urban areas in China.Kun Gao Jun Wu 2019Cancer Communications2019,39,1:78
9Persistence and clearance of viral RNA in 2019 novel coronavirus disease rehabilitation patients显示文摘Background:A patient’s infectivity is determined by the presence of the virus in different body fluids,secretions,and excreta.The persistence and clearance of viral RNA from different specimens of patients with 2019 novel coronavirus disease(COVID-19)remain unclear.This study analyzed the clearance time and factors influencing 2019 novel coronavirus(2019-nCoV)RNA in different samples from patients with COVID-19,providing further evidence to improve the management of patients during convalescence.Methods:The clinical data and laboratory test results of convalescent patients with COVID-19 who were admitted to from January 20,2020 to February 10,2020 were collected retrospectively.The reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR)results for patients’oropharyngeal swab,stool,urine,and serum samples were collected and analyzed.Convalescent patients refer to recovered non-febrile patients without respiratory symptoms who had two successive(minimum 24 h sampling interval)negative RT-PCR results for viral RNA from oropharyngeal swabs.The effects of cluster of differentiation 4(CD4)+T lymphocytes,inflammatory indicators,and glucocorticoid treatment on viral nucleic acid clearance were analyzed.Results:In the 292 confirmed cases,66 patients recovered after treatment and were included in our study.In total,28(42.4%)women and 38 men(57.6%)with a median age of 44.0(34.0-62.0)years were analyzed.After in-hospital treatment,patients’inflammatory indicators decreased with improved clinical condition.The median time from the onset of symptoms to first negative RT-PCR results for oropharyngeal swabs in convalescent patients was 9.5(6.0-11.0)days.By February 10,2020,11 convalescent patients(16.7%)still tested positive for viral RNA from stool specimens and the other 55 patients’stool specimens were negative for 2019-nCoV following a median duration of 11.0(9.0-16.0)days after symptom onset.Among these 55 patients,43 had a longer duration until stool specimens were negative for viral RNA than for throat swabs,with a median delay of 2.0(1.0-4.0)days.Results for only four(6.9%)urine samples were positive for viral nucleic acid out of 58 cases;viral RNA was still present in three patients’urine specimens after throat swabs were negative.Using a multiple linear regression model(F=2.669,P=0.044,and adjusted R2=0.122),the analysis showed that the CD4+T lymphocyte count may help predict the duration of viral RNA detection in patients’stools(t=-2.699,P=0.010).The duration of viral RNA detection from oropharyngeal swabs and fecal samples in the glucocorticoid treatment group was longer than that in the non-glucocorticoid treatment group(15 days vs.8.0 days,respectively;t=2.550,P=0.013)and the duration of viral RNA detection in fecal samples in the glucocorticoid treatment group was longer than that in the non-glucocorticoid treatment group(20 days vs.11 days,respectively;t=4.631,P<0.001).There was no statistically significant difference in inflammatory indicators between patients with positive fecal viral RNA test results and those with negative results(P>0.05).Conclusions:In brief,as the clearance of viral RNA in patients’stools was delayed compared to that in oropharyngeal swabs,it is important to identify viral RNA in feces during convalescence.Because of the delayed clearance of viral RNA in the glucocorticoid treatment group,glucocorticoids are not recommended in the treatment of COVID-19,especially for mild disease.The duration of RNA detection may relate to host cell immunity.Yun Ling Shui-Bao Xu Yi-Xiao Lin Di Tian Zhao-Qin Zhu Fa-Hui Dai Fan Wu Zhi-Gang Song Wei Huang Jun Chen Bi-Jie Hu Sheng Wang En-Qiang Mao Lei Zhu Wen-Hong Zhang Hong-Zhou Lu 2020Chinese Medical Journal2020,,9:58
10New vacuum solar telescope and observations with high resolution显示文摘The New Vacuum Solar Telescope(NVST) is a one meter vacuum solar telescope that aims to observe fine structures on the Sun. The main goals of NVST are high resolution imaging and spectral observations, including measurements of the solar magnetic field. NVST is the primary ground-based facility used by the Chinese solar research community in this solar cycle. It is located by Fuxian Lake in southwest China, where the seeing is good enough to perform high resolution observations. We first introduce the general conditions at the Fuxian Solar Observatory and the primary science cases of NVST. Then, the basic structures of this telescope and instruments are described in detail. 1342,573 cases of hepatectomy in China: a multicenter retrospective investigation显示文摘Hepatectomy is currently routinely performed in most hospitals in China. China owns the largest population of liver diseases and the biggest number of liver resection cases. A nationwide multicenter retrospective investigation involving 112 hospitals was performed, and focused on liver resection for patients with hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC). 42,573 cases of hepatectomy were enrolled, and 18,275 valid cases of liver resection for HCC patients were selected for statistical analysis. The epidemiology of HCC, distribution of hepatectomy, postoperative complications and prognosis were finally analyzed. In the 18,275 HCC patients,81% had hepatitis B virus infection and 10% had hepatitis C virus infection. 38% of the HCC patients had normal Alphafetoprotein(AFP) level, and other 35% had an AFP level lower than 400 ng mL^(-1). In the study period, 97% of the hepatectomy for HCC were treated with open surgery, and 23.81% had vascular exclusion techniques. The operation time was(191.7±105.6) min,the blood loss was(546.0±562.8) m L, and blood transfusion was(543.0±1,035.2) m L. The median survival for HCC patients was 631 days, with 1-, 3-, and 5-year overall survival of 73.2%, 28.8% and 19.6%, respectively. 14The vegetation and climate change during Neocene and Early Quaternary in Jiuxi Basin, China显示文摘Sporopollen record in the Laojunmiao Section at Yumen in the Hexi Corridor foreland depression at the northern margin of the Tibetan Plateau revealed that during the period of 13.0―11.15 Ma the ecological environment of the Jiuxi Basin is characterized by steppe vegetation and a semi-moist climate. During 11.16―8.60 Ma prevailed forests of cypress and a still warmer, moister climate; steppe vegetation and dry climate began probably at about 8.6 Ma. Although aridification had been relaxed time and again during 8.40―6.93 Ma (forest-steppe, warm-semi-moist), 6.64―5.67 Ma (open-forest and steppe, warmer-semi-moist) and 5.42―4.96 Ma (steppe, semi-arid), the climate in the region became drier and drier in response to the fre- quent occurrence of aridity during 6.93―6.64 Ma (steppe, semi-arid), 5.67―5.42 Ma (de- sert-steppe, arid), 3.66―3.30 Ma (desert-steppe, arid) and 2.56―2.21 Ma (desert, arid). 16Environmental connections of novel avian-origin H7N9 influenza virus infection and virus adaptation to the human显示文摘A novel H7N9 influenza A virus has been discovered as the causative identity of the emerging acute respiratory infection cases in Shanghai,China.This virus has also been identified in cases of infection in the neighboring area Hangzhou City in Zhejiang Province.In this study,epidemiologic,clinical,and virological data from three patients in Hangzhou who were confirmed to be infected by the novel H7N9 influenza A virus were collected and analyzed.Human respiratory specimens and chicken feces from a contacted free market were tested for influenza virus by real-time reverse transcription PCR(RT-PCR) and sequencing.The clinical features of the three cases were similar featured with high fever and severe respiratory symptoms;however,only one of the patients died.A certain degree of diversity was observed among the three Hangzhou viruses sequenced from human samples compared with other reported H7N9 influenza A viruses.The sequences of the novel avian-origin H7N9 influenza viruses from Hangzhou City contained important amino acid substitutions related to human adaptation.One of the Hangzhou viruses had gained a novel amino acid substitution(Q226I) in the receptor binding region of hemagglutinin.More importantly,the virus sequenced from the chicken feces had a 627E substitution in the PB2 protein instead of the mammalian-adapted 627K substitution that was found in the PB2 proteins from the Hangzhou viruses from the three patients.Therefore,the newly-emerging H7N9 virus might be under adaptation pressure that will help it 'jump' from avian to human hosts.The significance of these substitutions needs further exploration,with both laboratory experiments and extensive field surveillance.LI Jun YU XinFen PU XiaoYing XIE Li SUN YongXiang XIAO HaiXia WANG FenJuan DIN Hua WU Ying LIU Di ZHAO GuoQiu LIU Jun PAN JingCao 2013Science China(Life Sciences)2013,56,6:32
17A novel m6A reader Prrc2a controls oligodendroglial specification and myelination显示文摘While N6-methyladenosine (m6A), the most abundant internal modification in eukaryotic mRNA, is linked to cell differentiation and tissue development, the biological significance of m6A modification in mammalian glial development remains unknown. Here, we identify a novel m6A reader, Prrc2a (Proline rich coiled-coil 2A), which controls oligodendrocyte specification and myelination. Nestin-Cre-mediated knockout of Prrc2a induces significant hypomyelination, decreased lifespan, as well as locomotive and cognitive defects in a mouse model. Further analyses reveal that Prrc2a is involved in oligodendrocyte progenitor cells (OPCs) proliferation and oligodendrocyte fate determination. Accordingly, oligodendroglial-lineage specific deletion of Prrc2a causes a similar phenotype of Nestin-Cre-mediated deletion. Combining transcriptome-wide RNA-seq, m6A-RIP-seq and Prrc2a RIP-seq analysis, we find that Olig2 is a critical downstream target gene of Prrc2a in oligodendrocyte development. Furthermore, Prrc2a stabilizes Olig2 mRNA through binding to a consensus GGACU motif in the Olig2 CDS (coding sequence) in an m6A-dependent manner. Interestingly, we also find that the m6A demethylase, Fto, erases the m6A modification of Olig2 mRNA and promotes its degradation. Together, our results indicate that Prrc2a plays an important role in oligodendrocyte specification through functioning as a novel m6A reader.
