| 4 | Sr-Nd isotope stratification along water depth:An example from Datong hydrological station of Yangtze River显示文摘This study examines the effects of hydrologic sorting and mixing of sources on the Sr-Nd isotopic compositions of suspended sediments at different water depths. The samples were collected from three layers (surface, middle and bottom) at Datong hydrological station of Yangtze River during the flood season of 2010. Our results show that, 87 Sr/ 86 Sr values decrease from surface to bottom, ranging from 0.730332 to 0.720857. ε Nd (0) values range from 14.75 to 10.09, with surface sediments being the most negative. The isotope composition at the middle layer can best represent the mean isotopic composition of the total suspended sediments transported by a river. It is believed that the stratification of Sr-Nd isotope is attributable to mixing of sediments from different sources due to hydrological sorting. Sediments from the upper stream are found to be coarser, and tend to contribute more to the lower water column. | 5 | The metabolic role of LncZBTB39-1:2 in the trophoblast mobility of preeclampsia显示文摘Preeclampsia is characterized by new onset of hypertension and proteinuria after 20 weeks’gestation and is a leading cause of maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality.The pathogenesis of preeclampsia is often associated with aberrant trophoblast function that leads to shallow placental implantation.However,the exact underlying mechanisms remain unclear.Placental LncZBTB39-1:2 expression level was investigated in 20 healthy placentae and 20 placentae with preeclampsia using qRT-PCR,and the metabolic profile of trophoblasts overexpressing LncZBTB39-1:2 in vitro was analysed using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GCeMS).In this study,we found that the expression of LncZBTB39-1:2 was significantly higher in preeclamptic placentae than in healthy placentae.Our metabolomics results have shown that tricarboxylic acid cycle intermediates and metabolites related to carbohydrate metabolism were decreased with the overexpression of LncZBTB39-1:2 in HTR8/SVneo cells.These findings were validated by detecting a lower level of intracellular ATP in HTR8/Vneo cells.Furthermore,the migration of HTR8/SVneo cells was compromised when cells were transfected with a plasmid encompassing LncZBTB39-1:2 overexpression.From these results,we conclude that abnormal levels of LncZBTB39-1:2 expression might lead to aberrant conditions in HTR-8/SVneo trophoblast cells.Aberrant conditions might be associated with dysregulated trophoblast migration and subsequent failure of uterine spiral artery remodelling,a pathogenesis recognised as a contributing factor in the aetiology of preeclampsia. | Yamin Liu Ting-Li Han Xiaofang Luo Yuxiang Bai Xuehai Chen Wei Peng Xi Xiong Philip N.Baker Chao Tong Hongbo Qi | 2018 | Genes & Diseases2018,5,3: | 3 |

| 8 | Eutrophication Evaluation of Water Body at Huailai Section of the Yongding River显示文摘In order to understand the water pollution characteristics in Huailai section of the Yongding River,the monitoring from November of 2016 to October of 2017 was conducted. 6 sampling points were selected for monitoring 6 indicators,and the temporal-spatial variation characteristics of nitrogen and phosphorus in the river were explored. Moreover,the ratio of nitrogen to phosphorus and an exponential universal formula of power function in logarithmic form were used to analyze temporal-spatial variation rules of nitrogen and phosphorus in water,assess the degree of eutrophication,and analyze eutrophication risk. The results showed that water pollution in Huailai section of the Yongding River was more serious. TN was13. 25 times of concentration limit of class III water in the dividing of surface water environment function area in the ' 13 thFive-year' Development Planning' of National Environmental Protection Standard. ON and NO-3-N were the main forms of TN,while mean value of TP was 0. 64 mg/L,and each index had the characteristics of agricultural non-point source pollution. The temporal-spatial distribution characteristics of nitrogen and phosphorus in the water body was obvious. At the time scale,the concentrations of nitrogen and phosphorus in the water body showed seasonal variation; at the space scale,the distribution of nitrogen and phosphorus in the water body was similar. The annual average ratio of nitrogen and phosphorus in Huailai section of the Yongding River was 32. 78,and the phytoplankton was in the overall state of phosphorus limitation. During the flat water period,phosphorus was the limiting nutrient element,and the ratio of nitrogen and phosphorus in the dry period and the abundant water period was suitable for the growth and reproduction of algae. The temporal-spatial variation of water body in Huailai section of the Yongding River was mostly in the ' eutrophication' stage. The maximum EI value was 228. 11 in dry season,and the lowest was 213. 06 in flood season,while it was218. 30 in flat water period. The fluvial dynamics process in Huailai section of the Yongding River was good,and the flow pattern of the river was continuous. The flow velocity of the main stream was 0. 43-1. 45 m/s,which was much larger than that of the algal bloom. | 9 | Observation of the novel “three-pointed star” cage-like (H_2O)_5cluster in a polymeric solid {[Ag_2(bpp)_2(H_2O)_2](chd)·9H_2O}_n显示文摘Coordination polymeric solid, {[Ag 2 (bpp) 2 (H 2 O) 2 ](chd)·9H 2 O} n (1) (bpp = 1,3-bis(4-pyridyl) propane, H 2 chd = 1,4-cyclo-hexanedicarboxylic acid), has been obtained by the solution phase ultrasonic synthesis techniques. The structure established through X-ray structural analysis shows that the compound traps an interesting 1D water tape built by the alternating 'three-pointed star' cage-like pentameric and D 2h tetrameric clusters (C2/c, Z = 4; a = 30.37(2) , b = 9.271(5) , and c = 18.89(1) ; β = 128.47°; V = 4164(4) 3 ). The novelty of the present complex is the rarely crystallographic example of the cage-shaped water pentamer, which is usually ascribed to a less-stable species. | 16 | Identifying genomic regions controlling ratoon stunting disease resistance in sugarcane(Saccharum spp.) clonal F_(1) population显示文摘The ratoon stunting disease (RSD) of sugarcane,caused by the bacterium Leifsonia xyli subsp.xyli,is one of the major concerns to sugarcane production and breeding programs worldwide.Due to no obvious external symptoms,RSD cannot be easily detected by the growers,hence has reduced the world’s sugarcane production significantly.This study aimed to identify quantitative trait loci (QTL) associated with RSD resistance and to assist in the development of linked molecular markers for marker-assisted breeding to minimize the reduction in sugarcane yield by the RSD infection.A set of 146 individuals derived from a self-crossing of CP80-1827 were evaluated for RSD resistance in a mechanically duplicated inoculated field trial from 2014 to 2017 using tissue blot immunoassay.Leveraging the genetic data and the four years phenotyping data of CP80-1827 selfing population,linkage map construction and QTL analysis were conducted based on clonal F_1 and F_2 mapping population types with GACD V.1.2 and Ici Mapping V.3.3,respectively.A total of 23 QTL associated with RSD resistance were identified,which explained 6%to13%of the phenotypic variation with the two types of software.A total of 82 disease resistance genes were identified by searching these 23 QTL regions on their corresponding regions on the Sorghum bicolor genome (44 genes),sugarcane R570 genome (20 genes),and S.spontaneum genome (18 genes),respectively.Compared with Ici Mapping V.3.3,GACD V.1.2 identified more major (6 vs.3) and stable QTL (2vs.0),and more disease resistance genes (51 vs.31),indicating GACD V.1.2 (clonal F_1 mapping type) is most likely to be more efficient than Ici Mapping (F_2 mapping type) for QTL analysis of a sefling population or clonal F_1 population in clonal species.The identified QTL controlling RSD resistance along with the associated SNP markers will assist sugarcane molecular breeding programs in combating this disease. | Qian You Sushma Sood Ziliang Luo Hongbo Liu Md.Sariful Islam Muqing Zhang Jianping Wang | 2021 | The Crop Journal2021,9,5: | 1 |
