3Distribution of green algae micro-propagules and their function in the formation of the green tides in the coast of Qinhuangdao,the Bohai Sea, China显示文摘Since 2015, a novel green tide has been recurring in the coastal areas of Qinhuangdao at the western coast of the Bohai Sea in China, threatening the environment and ecosystem of the Beidaihe seaside holiday resort along the coast. Micro-propagules of the green algae including gametes, spores, micro-germlings and micro-vegetative fragments play an important role in the formation of green tides. They serve as a 'seed source' of green macroalgae, and their distributions could reflect and influence the 'algae source' of green tides. In this study,monthly surveys in the inshore and offshore areas of the Qinhuangdao coast were conducted from April to September 2016 and in January 2017 to investigate the tempo-spatial distribution patterns and the biomass variations of the green algae micro-propagules. The obtained results show that micro-propagules were mainly distributed in the inshore areas with a significantly decreasing abundance towards offshore areas. Their biomass was highest in July and August, and lowest in winter. The areas that were affected by the green tides showed a remarkably higher abundance of micro-propagules compared to other areas. These micro-propagules could serve as the 'seed' source of green tides. 5Changes of brain gray matter structure in Parkinson's disease patients with dementia显示文摘Voxel-based morphometry is gaining considerable interest for studies examining Parkinson's disease dementia patients.In this study,12 patients with clinically defined Parkinson's disease and dementia and 12 non-demented patients with Parkinson's disease were examined using a T1WI three-dimensional fast spoiled gradient echo sequence.Gray matter data were analyzed using a voxel-based morphometry method and independent sample t-test based on Statistical Parametric Mapping 5 software.Differences in gray matter volume were represented with statistical parametric mapping.Compared with Parkinson's disease patients without dementia,decreased gray matter volume in Parkinson's disease dementia patients was observed in the bilateral superior temporal gyrus,bilateral posterior cingulate and left cingulate gyrus,right parahippocampal gyrus and hippocampus,right precuneus and right cuneus,left inferior frontal gyrus and left insular lobe.No increased gray matter volume was apparent.These data indicate that gray matter atrophy in the limbic system and cerebral neocortex is related to the presence of dementia.Jianguo Xia Jinlin Miu Hongbin Ding Xiuping Wang Hua Chen Juan Wang Juan Wu Jingli Zhao Huanxin Huang Weizhong Tian 2013Neural Regeneration Research2013,8,14:6
6Effect of lit-moxa stimulation of Guanyuan(CV 4) acupoint on levels of lactic acid and super-oxide dismutase in skeletal muscle of rats显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To observe the effect of lit-moxa stimulating acupoint Guanyuan(CV 4) on lactic acid and super-oxide dismutase(SOD) in skeletal muscle after exercise exhaustion.METHODS:Twenty-eight adult male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into normal control group,exhausted control group,exercise group and moxibustion group using exercise training and mild heating with lit-moxa stick as treatment methods.The exhausted control group,moxibustion group and exercise group received an exhaustive swimming after 20 days of intervention.Swimming exhausted times were recorded.Lactic acid and SOD concentration in soleus muscle were detected and compared between every two groups.RESULTS:The swimming exhausted times of the moxibustion group and the exercise group were significantly increased compare to the exhausted control group(P < 0.05).The lactic acid of the exhausted control group was significantly increased comparing with the normal control group(P <0.05),and the lactic acid of the moxibustion group and the exercise group were significantly lower than that of the exhausted control group(P < 0.05).The SOD level of the exhausted control group was significantly decreased comparing with the normal control group(P < 0.05),and the SOD level of the moxibustion group and the exercise group were significantly higher than that of the exhausted control group(both,P < 0.05).There was no statistical difference between the moxibustion group and the exercise group.CONCLUSION:With lit moxa stick,heat stimulating acupoint of Guanyuan(CV 4) decreased the levels of lactic acid and SOD in rat's skeletal muscle.Mo Jie Wu Lili Sun Zhifang Wang Hongbin Ding Na He Long Zhang Lufen Liu Tonghua Li Xiaohong 2015Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2015,35,2:6
7Engineering an enthesis-like graft for rotator cuff repair:An approach to fabricate highly biomimetic scaffold capable of zone-specifically releasing stem cell differentiation inducers显示文摘Rotator cuff(RC)attaches to humerus across a triphasic yet continuous tissue zones(bone-fibrocartilage-tendon),termed“enthesis”.Regrettably,rapid and functional enthesis regeneration is challenging after RC tear.The existing grafts bioengineered for RC repair are insufficient,as they were engineered by a scaffold that did not mimic normal enthesis in morphology,composition,and tensile property,meanwhile cannot simultaneously stimulate the formation of bone-fibrocartilage-tendon tissues.Herein,an optimized decellularization approach based on a vacuum aspiration device(VAD)was developed to fabricate a book-shaped decellularized enthesis matrix(O-BDEM).Then,three recombinant growth factors(CBP-GFs)capable of binding collagen were synthesized by fusing a collagen-binding peptide(CBP)into the N-terminal of BMP-2,TGF-β3,or GDF-7,and zone-specifically tethered to the collagen of O-BDEM to fabricate a novel scaffold(CBP-GFs/O-BDEM)satisfying the above-mentioned requirements.After ensuring the low immunogenicity of CBP-GFs/O-BDEM by a novel single-cell mass cytometry in a mouse model,we interleaved urine-derived stem cell-sheets into this CBP-GFs/O-BDEM to bioengineer an enthesis-like graft.Its high-performance on regenerating enthesis was determined in a canine model.These findings indicate this CBP-GFs/O-BDEM may be an excellent scaffold for constructing enthesis-like graft to patch large/massive RC tears,and provide breakthroughs in fabricating graded interfacial tissue.Can Chen Qiang Shi Muzhi Li Yang Chen Tao Zhang Yan Xu Yunjie Liao Shulin Ding Zhanwen Wang Xing Li Chunfeng Zhao Lunquan Sun Jianzhong Hu Hongbin Lu 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,10:4

10Porous Carbon Architecture Assembled by Cross-Linked Carbon Leaves with Implanted Atomic Cobalt for High-Performance Li-S Batteries显示文摘The practical application of lithium-sulfur batteries is severely hampered by the poor conductivity,polysulfide shuttle effect and sluggish reaction kinetics of sulfur cathodes.Herein,a hierarchi-cally porous three-dimension(3D)carbon architecture assembled by cross-linked carbon leaves with implanted atomic Co-N4 has been deli-cately developed as an advanced sulfur host through a SiO_(2)-mediated zeolitic imidazolate framework-L(ZIF-L)strategy.The unique 3D architectures not only provide a highly conductive network for fast electron transfer and buffer the volume change upon lithiation-delithi-ation process but also endow rich interface with full exposure of Co-N4 active sites to boost the lithium polysulfides adsorption and conversion.Owing to the accelerated kinetics and suppressed shuttle effect,the as-prepared sulfur cathode exhibits a superior electrochemical perfor-mance with a high reversible specific capacity of 695 mAh g^(−1) at 5 C and a low capacity fading rate of 0.053%per cycle over 500 cycles at 1 C.This work may provide a promising solution for the design of an advanced sulfur-based cathode toward high-performance Li-S batteries.Ruirui Wang Renbing Wu Chaofan Ding Ziliang Chen Hongbin Xu Yongfeng Liu Jichao Zhang Yuan Ha Ben Fei Hongge Pan 2021Nano-Micro Letters2021,13,10:3
11The contribution of attached Ulva prolifera on Pyropia aquaculture rafts to green tides in the Yellow Sea显示文摘Green tides caused by the unusual accumulation of high floating Ulva prolifera have occurred regularly in the Yellow Sea since 2007.The primary source of the Yellow Sea green tides is the attached algae on the Pyropia aquaculture rafts in the Subei Shoal.Ulva prolifera and Blidingia(Italic)sp.are the main species observed on Pyropia aquaculture rafts in the Subei Shoal.We found that U.prolifera has strong buoyancy and a rapid growth rate,which may explain why it is the dominant species of green tides that occur in the China's sea area of the Yellow Sea.The growth rate of floating U.prolifera was about 20%–31%d–1,which was much higher than Blidingia(Italic)sp.There were about 1.7×104 t of attached algae on the Pyropia aquaculture rafts in May 2012.We found that 39%of attached algae could float when the tide rose in the Subei Shoal,and U.prolifera accounted for 63%of the floating algae.Our analysis estimated that about 4000 t of attached U.prolifera floated into the surrounding waters of the Subei Shoal during the recycling period of aquaculture rafts.These results suggest that the initial floating biomass of large-scale green tides in the Yellow Sea is determined by the U.prolifera biomass attached to Pyropia aquaculture rafts,further impacting the scale of the green tide。Hongbin Han Shiliang Fan Wei Song Yan Li Jie Xiao Zongling Wang Xuelei Zhang Dewen Ding 2020Acta Oceanologica Sinica2020,39,2:3
12Inconsistent creep between dendrite core and interdendritic region under different degrees of elemental inhomogeneity in nickel-based single crystal superalloys显示文摘The creep inconsistency between dendrite core and interdendritic region is investigated in a nickel-based single crystal superalloy under 1373 K and 137 MPa.Two specimens with higher and lower degree of elemental inhomogeneity on dendritic structures are compared.For specimen with higher inhomogeneity,stronger segregation of refractory elements reinforces the local strength in dendrite core,but damages the strength in interdendritic region.Creep strain is accumulated faster in interdendritic region giving rise to promoted dislocation shearing inγphase,faster degradation of dislocation networks and facilitated topological inversion of rated structures.Although the segregation of refractory elements produces a high density of topologically close-packed(TCP)phase in dendrite core,faster accumulation of creep strain forms microcracks prior in interdendritic region that gives rise to final rupture of the specimen.In another specimen,increased solid solution time gives rise to overall reduced inhomogeneity.Creep inconsistency is relieved to show more uniform evolution of dislocation substructures and rafting between dendrite core and interdendritic region.The second specimen is ruptured by formation and extension of microcracks along TCP phase although the precipitation of TCP phase is relatively restricted under reduced inhomogeneity.Importantly,the balance of local strength between dendrite core and interdendritic region results in over 40%increase of creep rupture life of the second specimen.Wanshun Xia Xinbao Zhao Liang Yue Quanzhao Yue Jiangwei Wang Qingqing Ding Hongbin Bei Ze Zhang 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,33:2
13Evaluation of SARS-CoV-2-Neutralizing Nanobody Using Virus Receptor Binding Domain-Administered Model Mice显示文摘Due to the rapid spread of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19),there is an urgent requirement for the development of additional diagnostic tools for further analysis of the disease.The isolated nanobody Nb11-59 binds to the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)reeptor-binding domain[RBD]with high afinity to neutralize the virus and block the angiotensin-converting enzyme 2-(ACE2-)RBD interaction.Here,we introduce a novel nanobody-based radiotracer named^(68)Ga-Nb1159.The radiotracer retained high affinity for the RBD and showed reliable radiochemical characteristics both in vitro and in vivo.Predinical positron emission tomography(PET)studies of Ga-Nb1159 in mice revealed is rapid dearance from circulation and robust uptake into the renal and urinary systems.Fortunately,^(68)Ga-Nb1159 could speifcally reveal the distribution of the RBD in mice.This sudy also helped to evaluate the pharmacodynamic efects of the neutralizing nanobody.Moreover,^(68)Ga-Nb1159 may be a promising l0ol lo explore the distribution of the RBD and improve the understanding of the virus.In particular,this study identified a novel molecular radioagent and established a reliable evaluation method for speifially investigating the RBD through noninvasive and visual PET technology.Song Liu Guanghui Li Lei Ding Jin Ding Qian Zhang Dan Li Xingguo Hou Xiangxing Kong Jing Zou Shiming Zhang Hongbin Han Yakun Wan Zhi Yang Hua Zhu 2022Research2022,,2:2
14Magnetic resonance morphometry of the loss of gray matter volume in Parkinson's disease patients显示文摘Voxel-based morphometry can be used to quantitatively compare structural differences and functional changes of gray matter in subjects.In the present study,we compared gray matter images of 32 patients with Parkinson's disease and 25 healthy controls using voxel-based morphometry based on 3.0 T high-field magnetic resonance T1-weighted imaging and clinical neurological scale scores.Results showed that the scores in Mini-Mental State Examination and Montreal Cognitive Assessment were lower in patients compared with controls.In particular,the scores of visuospatial/executive function items in Montreal Cognitive Assessment were significantly reduced,but mean scores of non-motor symptoms significantly increased,in patients with Parkinson's disease.In addition,gray matter volume was significantly diminished in Parkinson's disease patients compared with normal controls,including bilateral temporal lobe,bilateral occipital lobe,bilateral parietal lobe,bilateral frontal lobe,bilateral insular lobe,bilateral parahippocampal gyrus,bilateral amygdale,right uncus,and right posterior lobe of the cerebellum.These findings indicate that voxel-based morphometry can accurately and quantitatively assess the loss of gray matter volume in patients with Parkinson's disease,and provide essential neuroimaging evidence for multisystem pathological mechanisms involved in Parkinson's disease.Jianguo Xia Juan Wang Weizhong Tian Hongbin Ding Qilin Wei Huanxin Huang Jun Wang Jinli Zhao Hongmei Gu Lemin Tang 2013Neural Regeneration Research2013,8,27:1

20prpf4 is essential for cell survival and posterior lateral line primordium migration in zebrafish显示文摘Prpf4(pre-mRNA processing factor 4),a key component of spliceosome,plays critical roles in pre-mRNA splicing and its mutations result in retinitis pigmentosa due to photoreceptor defects.In this study,we characterized a zebrafishharboring a Tol2 transposon-based gene trap cassette in the third intron of the prpf4 gene.Cells in the brain and spinal cord gradually undergo p53-dependent apoptosis after 28 hpf insuggesting that a widespread function of prpf4 in neural cell survival.In addition,prpf4 is essential for survival of posterior lateral line primordial(pLLP)cells.prpf4 deficiency perturbs Fgf,and chemokine signaling pathways and impairs pLLP migration.RNA-Seq analysis suggests that prpf4 deficiency may impair spliceosome assembly,leading to compensatory upregulation of core spliceosomal genes and alteration of pre-mRNA splicing.Taken together,our studies uncover an essential role of prpf4 in pre-m RNA splicing,cell survival and pLLP migration.Yixia Wang Yanchao Han Pengfei Xu Shihui Ding Guangyuan Li Hongbin Jin Yaping Meng Anming Meng Shunji Jia 2018Journal of Genetics and Genomics2018,45,8:1
