1Quantitative determination of AI-2 quorum-sensing signal of bacteria using high performance liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry显示文摘Autoinducer 2(AI-2), an important bioactive by-product of the Lux S-catalyzed S-ribosylhomocysteine cleavage reaction in the activated-methyl-cycle, has been suggested to serve as a universal intra- and inter-species signaling molecule. The development of reliable and sensitive methods for quantitative determination of AI-2 is highly desired.However, the chemical properties of AI-2 cause difficulty in its quantitative analysis.Herein, we report a high performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometric method that enables reproducible and sensitive measurement of AI-2 concentrations in complex matrixes. 4,5-Dimethylbenzene-1,2-diamine(DMBDM), an easy-to-obtain commercial reagent, was used for the derivatization treatment. The assay was linear in the concentration range of 1.0–1000 ng/m L(R^2= 0.999) and had a lower limit of quantification of0.58 ng/m L. The method exhibited several advantages, e.g., high selectivity, wide linear response range, and good sensitivity. 2Field Modeling Method for Identifying Urban Sphere of Influence:A Case Study on Central China显示文摘With rapid development of urbanization and regional interaction and interdependence,regional urban agglomeration planning becomes more and more important in China,in order to promote integrated development of various cities with close interrelationship.However,it is still arguable academically on how to define the boundary or which cities to be included for the urban agglomeration of a region.This paper aims to shed lights on how to identify urban spheres of influence scientifically by introducing field modeling method and by practicing a case study on 168 cities in Central China.In our field modeling method,the influence intensities of cities were measured by a comprehensive index and urban spheres of influence were represented spatially by field intensity.Then,their classification and spatial distribution characteristics of study area in 2007 were identified and explored by using GIS and statistical methods.The result showed that:1) Wuhan is the absolute dominant city in Central China;2) the provincial capital cities dominate their own provinces and there are no other lower grade agglomeration centers;and 3) the basic types of organization form of urban sphere of influence are single-polar type,agglomeration type,close-related group type and loose-related group type.DENG Yu LIU Shenghe WANG Li MA Hanqing WANG Jianghao 2010Chinese Geographical Science2010,20,4:7
3NUMERICAL STUDIES ON RESONANT AND ENHANCEMENT EFFECTS FOR COUPLING OF MICROWAVE PULSES INTO NARROW SLOTS显示文摘In this paper, modifications to the finite-difference time-domain(FD-TD) method for modeling microwave pulse coupling into a slot, which is much narrower than one conventional FD-TD cell, are discussed. The coupling process of microwave pulse into a slot is studied by using the modified FD-TD method, and the dependence of microwave coupling on slot sizes, the carrier frequencies and the polarization directions of the incident waves is analysed. Resonant and enhancement effects which occur in this process are observed. 4Nonlinear health evaluation for lithium-ion battery within full-lifespan显示文摘Lithium-ion batteries(LIBs), as the first choice for green batteries, have been widely used in energy storage, electric vehicles, 3C devices, and other related fields, and will have greater application prospects in the future. However, one of the obstacles hindering the future development of battery technology is how to accurately evaluate and monitor battery health, which affects the entire lifespan of battery use. It is not enough to assess battery health comprehensively through the state of health(SoH) alone, especially when nonlinear aging occurs in onboard applications. Here, for the first time, we propose a brand-new health evaluation indicator—state of nonlinear aging(SoNA) to explain the nonlinear aging phenomenon that occurs during the battery use, and also design a knee-point identification method and two SoNA quantitative methods. We apply our health evaluation indicator to build a complete LIB full-lifespan grading evaluation system and a ground-to-cloud service framework, which integrates multi-scenario data collection, multi-dimensional data-based grading evaluation, and cloud management functions. Our works fill the gap in the LIBs’ health evaluation of nonlinear aging, which is of great significance for the health and safety evaluation of LIBs in the field of echelon utilization such as vehicles and energy storage. 6THE PREPARATION OF CROSSLINKED N,O-CARBOXYMETHYL CHITOSAN RESINSAND THEIR ADSORPTION PROPERTIESFOR TRIGLYCERIDE IN SERUM显示文摘Crosslinked N, O-carboxymethyl chitosan resins which can selectively adsorb triglyceride, were prepared by the reaction of N, O- carboxymethyl chitosan with glutaraldehyde solution. Adsorption experiments were performed by adding the resins to the serum. 9WindSat satellite comparisons with nearshore buoy wind data near the U.S. west and east coasts显示文摘Nearshore wind speeds retrieved by WindSat are validated by a comparison with the moored buoy observations near the U.S.west and east coasts.A 30 min and 25 km collection window is used for the Wind Sat wind data and buoy measurements from January 2004 to December 2014.Comparisons show that the overall root-mean-square error is better than 1.44 m/s near the U.S.coasts,and the result for the east coast is better than that for the west coast.The retrieval accuracy of the descending portions is slightly better than that of the ascending portions.Most buoy-to-buoy variations are not significantly correlated with the coastal topography,the longitude and the distance from the shore or satellite-buoy separation distance.In addition,comparisons between a polarimetric microwave radiometer and a microwave scatterometer are accomplished with the nearshore buoy observations from 2007 to 2008.The Wind Sat-derived winds tend to be lower than the buoy observations near the U.S.coasts.In contrast,the Quik SCAT-derived winds tend to be higher than the buoy observations.Overall,the retrieval accuracy of Wind Sat is slightly better than that of Quik SCAT,and these satellite-derived winds are sufficiently accurate for scientific studies.ZHANG Lei SHI Hanqing YU Hong YI Xin 2016Acta Oceanologica Sinica2016,35,7:2
10Purification and molecular weight distribution of a key exopolysaccharide component of Bacillus megaterium TF10显示文摘Extracellular polymeric substances(EPS) are organic metabolic compounds excreted by microorganisms. They largely impact microbial aggregate structures and functions.Extracellular polysaccharides(EP) in EPS are responsible for the formation of microbial aggregates. In this work, we successfully separated and characterized EP from EPS of the bacterium Bacillus megaterium TF10. Extraction of EP from EPS was optimized using Sevag's reagent. Chemical characteristics, functional groups, and molecular weight(MW) distribution of EP were compared with the harvested EPS and soluble microbial products(SMP). We found that the polymers of lower MW and free proteins were successfully removed by Sevag's reagent. The higher MW components of EPS were predominantly polysaccharides,while the polymers of lower MW tended to secrete to the supernatant and were described as SMP. A part of the proteins in the EP was polysaccharide-bonded. 12Tuning of activated sludge in winter based on respirogram profiles under standard and site temperatures显示文摘Respirograms of activated sludge OUR_ x^Tand OUR_x^(20)were measured under site(T) and standard(20°C) temperatures, respectively, and the predicted standard temperature respirogram OUR_( x,cal)^(20)was also calculated using the Arrhenius equation. These respirogram profiles reveal more information than effluent quality. A decrease of OUR_ x ^(20)is a critical alarm signal for the loss of pollutant removal capacity, and a sudden increase of the predicted value OUR_( x,cal)^(20)is an alarm signal for the unrecoverable deterioration of biomass. The sign of OUR_x^(20)–OUR_(x,cal)^(20)can be used for selection of tuning strategies. For example, a negative value of OUR_x^(20)–OUR_( x,cal)^(20)indicates that doubling biomass is difficult,thus strategies such as extending the reaction time with limited available biomass is preferred.
