2Deep Learning for Wireless Physical Layer: Opportunities and Challenges显示文摘Machine learning(ML) has been widely applied to the upper layers of wireless communication systems for various purposes, such as deployment of cognitive radio and communication network. However, its application to the physical layer is hampered by sophisticated channel environments and limited learning ability of conventional ML algorithms. Deep learning(DL) has been recently applied for many fields, such as computer vision and natural language processing, given its expressive capacity and convenient optimization capability. The potential application of DL to the physical layer has also been increasingly recognized because of the new features for future communications, such as complex scenarios with unknown channel models, high speed and accurate processing requirements; these features challenge conventional communication theories. This paper presents a comprehensive overview of the emerging studies on DL-based physical layer processing, including leveraging DL to redesign a module of the conventional communication system(for modulation recognition, channel decoding, and detection) and replace the communication system with a radically new architecture based on an autoencoder. 4Size distributions of aerosol and water-soluble ions in Nanjing during a crop residual burning event显示文摘To investigate the impact on urban air pollution by crop residual burning outside Nanjing,aerosol concentration,pollution gas concentration,mass concentration,and water-soluble ion size distribution were observed during one event of November 4-9,2010.Results show that the size distribution of aerosol concentration is bimodal on pollution days and normal days,with peak values at 60-70 and 200-300 nm,respectively.Aerosol concentration is 10 4 cm 3 ·nm 1 on pollution days.The peak value of spectrum distribution of aerosol concentration on pollution days is 1.5-3.3 times higher than that on a normal day.Crop residual burning has a great impact on the concentration of fine particles.Diurnal variation of aerosol concentration is trimodal on pollution days and normal days,with peak values at 03:00,09:00 and 19:00 local standard time.The first peak is impacted by meteorological elements,while the second and third peaks are due to human activities,such as rush hour traffic.Crop residual burning has the greatest impact on SO 2 concentration,followed by NO 2,O 3 is hardly affected.The impact of crop residual burning on fine particles(< 2.1 μm) is larger than on coarse particles(> 2.1 μm),thus ion concentration in fine particles is higher than that in coarse particles.Crop residual burning leads to similar increase in all ion components,thus it has a small impact on the water-soluble ions order.Crop residual burning has a strong impact on the size distribution of K +,Cl,Na +,and F and has a weak impact on the size distributions of NH 4 +,Ca 2+,NO 3 and SO 4 2.Honglei Wang Bin Zhu Lijuan Shen Hanqing Kang 2012Journal of Environmental Sciences2012,24,8:15
5Form-fnding methods for deployable mesh reflector antennas显示文摘Deployable high-frequency mesh reflector antennas for future communications and observations are required to obtain high gain and high directivity.In order to support these new missions,reflectors with high surface accuracy are widely required.The form-fnding analysis of deployable mesh reflector antennas becomes more vital which aims to determine the initial surface profle formed by the equilibrium prestress distribution in cables to satisfy the surface accuracy requirement.In this paper,two form-fnding methods for mesh reflector antennas,both of which include two steps,are proposed.The frst step is to investigate the prestress design only for the cable net structure as the circumferential nodes connected to the supporting truss are assumed fxed.The second step is to optimize the prestress distribution of the boundary cables connected directly to the supporting truss considering the elastic deformation of the antenna structure.Some numerical examples are carried out and the simulation results demonstrate the proposed form-fnding methods can warrant the deformed antenna reflector surface matches the one by design and the cable tension forces fall in a specifed range.Li Tuanjie Jiang Jie Deng Hanqing Lin Zhanchao Wang Zuowei 2013Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2013,26,5:15

7Microbial aerosol characteristics in highly polluted and nearpristine environments featuring different climatic conditions显示文摘There is an increasing interest in understanding ambient bioaerosols due to their roles both in health and in climate. Here, we deployed an Ultraviolet Aerodynamic Particle Sizer to monitor viable(fluorescent) bioaerosol concentration levels at city centers(highly polluted) and their corresponding suburbs(near pristine)(total 40 locations) in 11 provinces featuring different climate zones in China between July 16 and 28, 2013. The concentration levels of viable bioaerosol particles(Bio PM) of [0.5 lm were measured, and corresponding percentages of Bio PM%(biological fraction of total PM) and Bio PM2.5%(biological fraction of PM2.5) in particulate matter(PM)and Bio PM, respectively, were determined. For some key cities, indoor viable bioaerosol levels were also obtained.In addition, bacterial structures of the air samples collected across these monitoring locations were studied using pyrosequencing. Bio PM concentration levels ranged from2.1 9 104 to 2.4 9 105/m3 for city centers [Bio PM% =6.4 %(±6.3 %)] and 0.5 9 104 to 4.7 9 105/m3 for suburbs [Bio PM% = 10 %(±8.7 %)]. Distinctive bioaerosol size distribution patterns were observed for different climate zones, e.g., some had fluorescence peaks at 3 lm, while the majority had peaks at 1 lm. Ambient bacterial aerosol community structures were also found different for different geophysical locations. Results suggest that there was a poor overall relationship between PM and Bio PM across 40 monitoring locations(R2= 0.081, two-tailed P value =0.07435). Generally, city centers had higher PM concentrations than suburbs, but not Bio PM and Bio PM%. Indoor bioaerosol levels were found at least tenfold higher than those corresponding outdoors. 8A NON-PARAMETER BAYESIAN CLASSIFIER FOR FACE RECOGNITION显示文摘A non-parameter Bayesian classifier based on Kernel Density Estimation (KDE)is presented for face recognition, which can be regarded as a weighted Nearest Neighbor (NN)classifier in formation. The class conditional density is estimated by KDE and the bandwidthof the kernel function is estimated by Expectation Maximum (EM) algorithm. Two subspaceanalysis methods-linear Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and Kernel-based PCA (KPCA)are respectively used to extract features, and the proposed method is compared with ProbabilisticReasoning Models (PRM), Nearest Center (NC) and NN classifiers which are widely used in facerecognition systems. 9Quantitative determination of AI-2 quorum-sensing signal of bacteria using high performance liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry显示文摘Autoinducer 2(AI-2), an important bioactive by-product of the Lux S-catalyzed S-ribosylhomocysteine cleavage reaction in the activated-methyl-cycle, has been suggested to serve as a universal intra- and inter-species signaling molecule. The development of reliable and sensitive methods for quantitative determination of AI-2 is highly desired.However, the chemical properties of AI-2 cause difficulty in its quantitative analysis.Herein, we report a high performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometric method that enables reproducible and sensitive measurement of AI-2 concentrations in complex matrixes. 4,5-Dimethylbenzene-1,2-diamine(DMBDM), an easy-to-obtain commercial reagent, was used for the derivatization treatment. The assay was linear in the concentration range of 1.0–1000 ng/m L(R^2= 0.999) and had a lower limit of quantification of0.58 ng/m L. The method exhibited several advantages, e.g., high selectivity, wide linear response range, and good sensitivity. 11Field Modeling Method for Identifying Urban Sphere of Influence:A Case Study on Central China显示文摘With rapid development of urbanization and regional interaction and interdependence,regional urban agglomeration planning becomes more and more important in China,in order to promote integrated development of various cities with close interrelationship.However,it is still arguable academically on how to define the boundary or which cities to be included for the urban agglomeration of a region.This paper aims to shed lights on how to identify urban spheres of influence scientifically by introducing field modeling method and by practicing a case study on 168 cities in Central China.In our field modeling method,the influence intensities of cities were measured by a comprehensive index and urban spheres of influence were represented spatially by field intensity.Then,their classification and spatial distribution characteristics of study area in 2007 were identified and explored by using GIS and statistical methods.The result showed that:1) Wuhan is the absolute dominant city in Central China;2) the provincial capital cities dominate their own provinces and there are no other lower grade agglomeration centers;and 3) the basic types of organization form of urban sphere of influence are single-polar type,agglomeration type,close-related group type and loose-related group type.DENG Yu LIU Shenghe WANG Li MA Hanqing WANG Jianghao 2010Chinese Geographical Science2010,20,4:7

13Current-limiting characteristics of saturated iron-core fault current limiters in VSC-HVDC systems based on electromagnetic energy conversion mechanism显示文摘A common method to examine the current-limiting performance of saturated iron-core fault current limiter(SI-FCL) in high-voltage direct-current transmission based on voltage source converter(VSC-HVDC) systems is to solve differential equations based on the system fault transient characteristics and the equivalent inductance calculation equation. This method analyzes the fault current of the VSC-HVDC system in the time domain. However, it is computationally complex and cannot directly reflect the relationship between parameters and the currentlimiting effect of the SI-FCL.In this paper,the relationship between the magnetic flux density and magnetic field energy of the SI-FCL is analyzed. The energy exchange between the DC capacitor and the SI-FCL in the DC short circuit fault process is analyzed. From the perspective of electromagnetic energy conversion, the criterion for determining the current-limiting ability of the SI-FCL in the transient process is given based on the parameters of the SI-FCL and VSC-HVDC system. On this basis, the characteristics of the DC side fault current and the capacitor voltage when the SI-FCL has current-limiting ability are examined.Based on the parameters of the SI-FCL and VSC-HVDC system, a method for calculating the fault current peak value and capacitor voltage drop time is given. 16Development and characterization of a clinical strain of Coxsackievirus A16 and an eGFP infectious clone显示文摘Coxsackievirus A16(CA16) is one of the major causes of hand, foot, and mouth disease(HFMD) worldwide, which is a common illness that affects children. The frequent occurrence of HFMD outbreaks has become a serious public health problem in Asia. Therefore, it is important to understand the pathogenesis and replication of CA16. In this study, a stable infectious c DNA clone of an epidemic strain of Coxsackievirus A16(CA16) was assembled, and subsequently a reporter virus(e GFP-CA16) was constructed by inserting the e GFP gene between the 5'-UTR and the N-terminus of VP4, with the addition of a 2A protease cleavage site(ITTLG) at its C-terminus. This was transfected into Vero cells to generate infectious recombinant viruses. The growth characteristics and plaque morphology, in vitro, in mammalian cells were found to be indistinguishable between the parental and recombinant viruses. Although the e GFP-CA16 showed smaller plaque size as compared to recombinant CA16, both were found to exhibit similar growth trends and EC50 of NITD008. In summary, this stable infectious c DNA clone should provide a valuable experimental system to study CA16 infection and host response. 17Corrosion behavior of Mg-Zn-Ca amorphous alloys with Nd addition in simulated body fluids显示文摘The effects of Nd addition on corrosion behavior of Mg66Zn30Ca4 amorphous alloys in simulated body f luids(SBF) were studied in this paper. Electrochemical properties of the samples before and after corrosion were determined. Surface morphologies of samples after immersion in SBF at 37℃ for different times were observed under scanning electron microscope(SEM). Results show that the corrosion resistance of Mg-based alloys in SBF is improved with the addition of Nd element. The electrochemical properties indicate that microalloying Nd element to the alloys leads to an ennoblement in the open circuit potentials of the alloys and a decrease in the anodic current density in SBF, especially for the Mg66-xZn30Ca4 Ndx alloys with Nd content of 1.0at.%-1.5at.%. It was observed that the surface morphologies of the alloys immersed in SBF change with the Nd addition. 18Effect of combined medicated thread moxibustion plus needle picking therapy of Zhuang nationality medicine on antioxidant levels in a rat model of sciatica显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect and underlying mechanisms of combined medicated thread moxibustion therapy plus needle picking therapy of Zhuang nationality medicine on antioxidant levels in a rat model of sciatica.METHODS: One hundred Wistar rats, of specific pathogen free level, were randomly divided into five groups: normal control group, model group,medicated thread moxibustion group, needle picking group, and combination group. Each group contained 20 rats. In the model, medicated thread moxibustion, needle picking, and combination groups,sciatica models were established through chronicconstriction injury of the sciatic nerve. After the model was established, the rats in the medicated thread moxibustion, needle picking, and combination groups were given the corresponding therapies for 21 days. The control and model groups received no treatment. Reactive oxygen species, superoxide dismutase, malondialdehyde, and total antioxidant capacity changes were determined.Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate(NADPH) oxidase subunit NADPH oxidases 4(NOX4) m RNA expression and the morphology of cells were observed to detect apoptosis of gamma-aminobutyric acid ergic(GABAergic) neurons.RESULTS: Compared with control group, reactive oxygen species and malondialdehyde levels rose significantly in the model group(P < 0.01), while superoxide dismutase and total antioxidant capacity levels were lowered(P < 0.05). Compared with the model group, reactive oxygen species and malondialdehyde decreased in the needle picking group(P < 0.05), while superoxide dismutase levels were increased(P < 0.05); reactive oxygen species and malondialdehyde significantly decreased in the combination group(P < 0.01). In addition, the model group had higher NOX4 m RNA expression than that of the control group(P < 0.05), and the combination group had lower expression levels than that of the model group(P < 0.05). 19Trans Complementation of Replication-defective Omsk Hemorrhagic Fever Virus for Antiviral Study显示文摘Omsk hemorrhagic fever virus(OHFV) is a tick-borne flavivirus classified as a biosafety level-4(BSL4) pathogen. Studies of OHFV are restricted to be conducted within BSL4 laboratories. Currently, no commercial vaccines or antiviral drugs are available against OHFV infection. In this study, we recovered a replication-deficient OHFV with an NS1 deletion(OHFVDNS1) and reporter virus replacing NS1 with the Gaussia luciferase(Gluc)(OHFV-ΔNS1-Gluc). Both the defective OHFVDNS1 and OHFV-ΔNS1-Gluc virus could only replicate efficiently in the BHK21 cell line expressing NS1(BHK21NS1) but not in na?ve BHK21 cells. The Gluc reporter gene of OHFV-ΔNS1-Gluc virus was maintained stably after serial passaging of BHK21NS1 cells and was used to surrogate the replication of OHFV. Using NITD008, OHFV-ΔNS1-Gluc virus was validated for antiviral screening, and high-throughput screening parameters were optimized in a 96-well plate format with a calculated Z0 value above 0.5. 20Experimental study on freezing of liquids under static magnetic field显示文摘Freezing processes of several liquids under static magnetic field(SMF) less than 50 mT were investigated. Central temperature of liquid samples held in glass test tubes immersed in a liquid bath was measured and collected. Nucleation temperature and phase transition time were obtained from freezing curves. Normality tests were performed for nucleation temperature of these liquids with/without magnetic field and normality distributions were justified. Analysis of variances was carried out for nucleation temperature of these liquids with magnetic field flux density as the influencing factor. Results showed that no significant difference was found for deionized water with or without SMF. However, differences exist in 0.9% NaCl solution and 5% ethylene glycol solution with and without SMF. Nucleation temperature of 0.9% NaCl with SMF is lower than that without SMF, while its phase transition time is shorter than that without SMF.
