1Black phosphorus as a new lubricant显示文摘In recent years, a new 2D-layered material—black phosphorus(BP)—has been a rising star after the era of graphene owing to its high charge carrier mobility, tunable direct bandgap and unique in-plane anisotropic structure. With the development of the synthesis and modification methods of BP, its extensive applications, e.g., transistors, batteries and optoelectronics have emerged. In order to explore its full potential, research into the tribological properties of BP 2D-layered materials such as lubrication additives and fillers in self-lubricating composite materials would be not only of high scientific value but also of practical significance. In this work, recent advances on the friction and lubrication properties of BP nanosheets made by our group, including the micro-friction properties, the lubrication properties of BP nanosheets as water-based and oil-based lubrication additives, and the friction and wear of BP/PVDF composites will be presented. 2A review on tribology of polymer composite coatings显示文摘Self-lubricating polymer composite coatings,with tailorable tribological and mechanical properties,have been widely employed on mechanical parts to reduce friction and wear,which saves energy and improves the overall performance for applications such as aerospace satellite parts,shafts,gears,and bushings.The addition of functional fillers can overcome the limitations of single-polymer coatings and extend the service life of the coatings by providing a combination of low friction,high wear resistance,high load bearing,high temperature resistance,and high adhesion.This paper compares the heat resistance,and the tribological and mechanical properties of common polymer matrices,as well as the categories of functional fillers that improve the coating performance.Applicable scopes,process parameters,advantages,and limitations of the preparation methods of polymer coatings are discussed in detail.The tribological properties of the composite coatings with different matrices and fillers are compared,and the lubrication mechanisms are analyzed.Fillers reduce friction by promoting the formation of transfer films or liquid shear films.Improvement of the mechanical properties of the composite coatings with fillers of different morphologies is described in terms of strengthening and toughening mechanisms,including a stress transfer mechanism,shear yielding,crack bridging,and interfacial debonding.The test and enhancement methods for the adhesion properties between the coating and substrate are discussed.The coating adhesion can be enhanced through mechanical treatment,chemical treatment,and energy treatment of the substrate.Finally,we propose the design strategies for high-performance polymer composite coating systems adapted to specific operating conditions,and the limitations of current polymer composite coating research are identified.Yilong REN Lin ZHANG Guoxin XIE Zhanbo LI Hao CHEN Hanjun GONG Wenhu XU Dan GUO Jianbin LUO 2021Friction2021,9,3:13
3Electrical bearing failures in electric vehicles显示文摘In modern electric equipment,especially electric vehicles,inverter control systems can lead to complex shaft voltages and bearing currents.Within an electric motor,many parts have electrical failure problems,and among which bearings are the most sensitive and vulnerable components.In recent years,electrical failures in bearing have been frequently reported in electric vehicles,and the electrical failure of bearings has become a key issue that restricts the lifetime of all‐electric motor‐based power systems in a broader sense.The purpose of this review is to provide a comprehensive overview of the bearing premature failure in the mechanical systems exposed in an electrical environment represented by electric vehicles.The electrical environments in which bearing works including the different components and the origins of the shaft voltages and bearing currents,as well as the typical modes of electrical bearing failure including various topographical damages and lubrication failures,have been discussed.The fundamental influence mechanisms of voltage/current on the friction/lubrication properties have been summarized and analyzed,and corresponding countermeasures have been proposed.Finally,a brief introduction to the key technical flaws in the current researches will be made and the future outlook of frontier directions will be discussed.Feng HE Guoxin XIE Jianbin LUO 2020Friction2020,8,1:8
4Tribological properties of CrN coating deposited on 20CrMo against tin bronze显示文摘A CrN coating was deposited on the piston pin material 20CrMo. The tribological properties of 20CrMo and CrN coating against tin bronze QSn7-0.2 were compared by pin-on-disk tests under dry friction and oil lubrication, respectively. The cross-sectional morphologies and structures of the coating were characterized through scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction. The hardness, elastic modulus, and adhesion strength of the coating were tested through nano-hardness and scratch tests. The wear tracks were tested with an optical profilometer, and wear volume was calculated. Under dry friction conditions, the CrN coating exhibited a significantly stable friction coefficient and a relatively lower wear rate against QSn7-0.2 at various temperatures compared with 20CrMo. The wear rate decreased by 98.5% at 700°C. Under poly-alpha-olefine lubrication, the CrN coating reduced the load effect on the friction coefficient. Under engine oil 5 W40 lubrication, the CrN coating improved the tribological properties under high speed and heavy load conditions. 5Damages on the lubricated surfaces in bearings under the influence of weak electrical currents显示文摘A special bearing tester was constructed to investigate the damage behavior on the lubricated surfaces in bearings with the passage of weak electrical currents as low as^1 mA.The results showed that when polar glycerine was used as the lubricant,many narrow and deep pits formed on the lubricated surfaces.In contrast,when the experimental conditions under the lubrication of the nonpolar paraffin oil were close to those under the lubrication of polar glycerine oil,damages on the lubricated surfaces were unobvious.Emergence of microbubbles in polar lubricants with the passage of electrical currents was proposed to be responsible for the observed damages on the lubricated surfaces.XIE GuoXin LUO JianBin GUO Dan LIU ShuHai LI Gang 2013Science China(Technological Sciences)2013,56,12:4
6A multi-axis robot-based bioprinting system supporting natural cell function preservation and cardiac tissue fabrication显示文摘Despite the recent advances in artificial tissue and organ engineering,how to generate large size viable and functional complex organs still remains as a grand challenge for regenerative medicine.Three-dimensional bioprinting has demonstrated its advantages as one of the major methods in fabricating simple tissues,yet it still faces difficulties to generate vasculatures and preserve cell functions in complex organ production.Here,we overcome the limitations of conventional bioprinting systems by converting a six degree-of-freedom robotic arm into a bioprinter,therefore enables cell printing on 3D complex-shaped vascular scaffolds from all directions.We also developed an oil bath-based cell printing method to better preserve cell natural functions after printing.Together with a self-designed bioreactor and a repeated print-and-culture strategy,our bioprinting system is capable to generate vascularized,contractible,and long-term survived cardiac tissues.Such bioprinting strategy mimics the in vivo organ development process and presents a promising solution for in vitro fabrication of complex organs.Zeyu Zhang Chenming Wu Chengkai Dai Qingqing Shi Guoxin Fang Dongfang Xie Xiangjie Zhao Yong-Jin Liu Charlie CLWang Xiu-Jie Wang 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,12:4
7Non-isothermal Crystallization Kinetics of Polyamide 6/Diaminemodified MWNTs Nanocomposite显示文摘The non-isothermal crystallization kinetics of polyamide 6/diamine-modified multi-walled carbon nanotube (PA6/D-MWNT) nanocomposite was investigated by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The modified Avrami equation, the Ozawa equation and the combined Avrami/Ozawa equation were employed to analyze the non-isothermal crystallization data. The crystallization activation energies were also evaluated by the Kissinger method. It was found that the combined Avrami/Ozawa equation could successfully describe the non-isothermal crystallization process. The results showed that D-MWNTs not only acted as effective hetero- geneous nucleating agents for PA6 and noticeably increased the crystallization temperature of PA6, but also influenced the mechanism of nucleation and crystal growth of PA6 and then reduced the overall crystallization rate of the neat PA6 matrix. 8Mechanical and tribological properties of nanocomposites incorporated with two-dimensional materials显示文摘In recent years, attempts to improve the mechanical properties of composites have increased remarkably owing to the inadequate utilization of matrices in demanding technological systems where efficiency, durability, and environmental compatibility are the key requirements. The search for novel materials that can potentially have enhanced mechanical properties continues. Recent studies have demonstrated that two-dimensional (2D) nanomaterials can act as excellent reinforcements because they possess high modulus of elasticity, high strength, and ultralow friction. By incorporating 2D nanomaterials in a composite, 2D nanomaterial-based composites (2DNBCs) have been developed. In view of this, a critical review of recent mechanical and tribological studies based on 2DNBCs has been undertaken. Matrices such as polymers, ceramics, and metals, as well as most of the representative 2D nanomaterial reinforcements such as graphene, boron nitride (BN), molybdenum disulfide (MoS2), and transition metal carbides and nitrides (MXenes) have been included in this review. Their preparation strategies, intrinsic mechanical properties, friction and lubrication performances, strengthening mechanisms, influencing factors, and potential applications have been comprehensively discussed. 9Ultralow friction polymer composites incorporated with mono-dispersed oil microcapsules显示文摘Ultralow friction polymer composites were prepared by adding oil-loaded microcapsules into epoxy(EP)resin.Mono-dispersed polystyrene(PS)/poly alpha olefin(PAO)microcapsules with a diameter of~2μm and a shell thickness of~30 nm were prepared by solvent evaporation method in an oil-in-water emulsion.The lubrication behaviors of the EP resin composites with oil-loaded microcapsules have been investigated under different loads and sliding speeds.As compared with the pure EP resin,the friction coefficient of the composite could be reduced to 4%(from 0.71 to 0.028)and the wear rate could be decreased up to two orders of magnitude.It was demonstrated that the released PAO oil from the microcapsules during the friction process produced a boundary lubricating film,which could prevent the direct contact of two rubbing surfaces,and thus leading to an extremely low friction coefficient and wear rate.Moreover,the composites with microcapsules could achieve comparable lubrication properties to the case under the external lubrication condition,while the former case could effectively minimize the lubricant leakage and improve the lubrication efficiency.Lin ZHANG Guoxin XIE Shuai WU Shiguang PENG Xiaoqing ZHANG Dan GUO Shizhu WEN Jianbin LUO 2021Friction2021,9,1:3

20Blue LED promotes the chemosensitivity of human hepatoma to Sorafenib by inducing DNA damage显示文摘Background:Phototherapies based on sunlight,infrared,ultraviolet,visible,and laser-based treatments present advantages like high curative effects,small invasion,and negligible adverse reactions in cancer treatment.We aimed to explore the potential therapeutic effects of blue light emitting diode(LED)in human hepatoma cells and decipher the underlying cellular and molecular mechanisms.Methods:Wound healing and transwell assays were employed to probe the inhibition of the invasion and migration of hepatocellular carcinoma cells in the presence of blue LED.The sphere-forming test was used to evaluate the effect of LED blue light irradiation on cancer stem cell properties.Immunofluorescence and western blotting were used to detect the changes inγ-H2AX.The Cell Counting Kit-8 assay,5-ethynyl-2′-deoxyuridine staining,and colony formation assay were used to detect the combined effect of blue LED and sorafenib on cell proliferation inhibition.Results:We demonstrated that the irradiation of blue LED light in hepatoma cells could lead to cell proliferation reduction along with the increase of cell apoptosis.Simultaneously,blue LED irradiation also markedly suppressed the migration and invasion ability of human hepatoma cells.Sphere formation analysis further revealed the decreased cancer stemness of hepatoma cells upon blue LED irradiation.Mechanistically,blue LED irradiation significantly promoted the expression of the phosphorylation of the core histone protein H2AX(γ-H2AX),a sensitive molecular marker of DNA damage.In addition,we found that the combined treatment of blue LED irradiation and sorafenib increased cancer cell sensitivity to sorafenib.Conclusion:Collectively,we demonstrated that blue LED irradiation exhibited anti-tumor effects on liver cancer cells by inducing DNA damage and could enhance chemosensitivity of cancer cells,which represents a potential approach for human hepatoma treatment.TONG WANG JINHUAN HONG JIAJIE XIE QIAN LIU JINRUI YUE XUTING HE SHIYU GE TAO LI GUOXIN LIU BENZHI CAI LINQIANG LI YE YUAN 2023BIOCELL2023,47,8:0
