1The Source of Genes Related to Rice Grain Starch Synthesis Among Cultivated Varieties and Its Contribution to Quality显示文摘The property of starch in rice grain endosperm is a very important determinant for rice quality, and it is essential to understand the genetic effect of the genes related to starch synthesis in high-yielding rice varieties for rice quality improvement. The physicochemical properties (e.g., amylose content, gel consistency, and RVA profile) were assessed on 53 rice varieties, including certain typical indica/japonica landraces and certain high-yielding modern varieties. And molecular markers for Sbe1, Sbe3 developed on the basis of sequence diversities between the rice subspecies indica and japonica, together with PCR-Acc Ⅰ marker for Wx gene were used to investigate the genotypes of 53 rice cultivars. The result showed that the developed molecular markers for Wx, Sbe1, Sbe3 could distinguish indica or japonica alleles at three loci. Among all the 53 rice cultivars, six genotypes were observed when Sbe1, Sbe3, and Wx loci were considered together, while the genotypes of WxiSbe1jSbe3i and WxiSbe1jSbe3j were absent. In order to explore the genetic effects of the three genes, especially for starch branching enzyme genes, ANOVA and multiple comparison analysis were conducted. The results showed that rice cultivars with different genotypes exhibited different phenotypes, including amylose content, gel consistency and certain RVA characteristics, and the significant differences among the six genotypes were observed. It was concluded that these three genes had randomly recombined during the process of the rice variety development. And the genetic effects of indica and japonica alleles at three gene loci were different, of which, Wx gene plays a major role in determining the starch properties, followed by Sbe1 and Sbe3, and the genetic effects of Sbe1 and Sbe3 in different backgrounds (Wxi, Wxj) are different. 2Optimal dynamic spectrum allocation-assisted latency minimization for multiuser mobile edge computing显示文摘Mobile Edge Computing(MEC)has been envisioned as an efficient solution to provide computation-intensive yet latency-sensitive services for wireless devices.In this paper,we investigate the optimal dynamic spectrum allocation-assisted multiuser computation offloading in MEC for overall latency minimization.Specifically,we first focus on a static multiuser computation offloading scenario and jointly optimize users'offloading decisions,transmission durations,and Edge Servers'(ESs)resource allocations.Owing to the nonconvexity of our joint optimization problem,we identify its layered structure and decompose it into two problems:a subproblem and a top problem.For the subproblem,we propose a bisection search-based algorithm to efficiently find the optimal users'offloading decisions and ESs’resource allocations under a given transmission duration.Second,we use a linear search-based algorithm for solving the top problem to obtain the optimal transmission duration based on the result of the subproblem.Further,after solving the static scenario,we consider a dynamic scenario of multiuser computation offloading with time-varying channels and workload.To efficiently address this dynamic scenario,we propose a deep reinforcement learning-based online algorithm to determine the near-optimal transmission duration in a real-time manner.Numerical results are provided to validate our proposed algorithms for minimizing the overall latency in both static and dynamic offloading scenarios.We also demonstrate the advantages of our proposed algorithms compared to the conventional multiuser computation offloading schemes.Yang Li Tianshun Wang Yuan Wu Weijia Jia 2022Digital Communications and Networks2022,8,3:2

9The Interannual and Decadal Variability of the Sea Level in the Japan/East Sea显示文摘Sea level observed by altimeter during the 1993–2007 period and the thermosteric sea level from 1945 through 2005 obtained by using the global ocean temperature data sets recently published are used to investigate the interannual and decadal variability of the sea level in the Japan/East Sea (JES) and its response to El Nio and Southern Oscillation (ENSO). Both the interannual variations of the sea level observed by altimeter and those of the thermosteric sea level obtained from reanalyzed data in the JES are closely related to ENSO. As a result, one important consequence is that the sea level trends are mainly caused by the thermal expansion in the JES. An ‘enigma’ is revealed that the correlation between the thermosteric sea level and ENSO during the PDO (Pacific Decadal Oscillation) warm phase (post mid-1970s) is inconsistent with that during the cold phase (pre mid-1970s) in the JES. The thermosteric sea level trends and the Southern Oscillation Index (SOI) suggest a strong negative correlation during the period 1977–1998, whereas there appears a relatively weak positive correlation during the period 1945–1976 in the JES. Based on the SODA (Simple Oceanographic Data Assimilation) datasets, possible mechanisms of the interannual and decadal variability of the sea level in the JES are discussed. Comprehensive analysis reveals that the negative anomalies of SOI correspond to the positive anomalies of the southeast wind stress, the net advective heat flux and the sea level in the JES during the PDO warm phase. 12Antioxidant systems of aquatic macrophytes in three life forms:a case study in Lake Erhai,China显示文摘Antioxidant systems are vital in life activities of macrophytes. Species with diff erent life forms need to cope with distinct environments by modifying physiological characters, especially antioxidant systems. In order to find diff erences among life forms and consequence of lake eutrophication, we studied three antioxidant enzymes activity (superoxide dismutase (SOD), ascorbate oxidase (APX) and catalase (CAT)) and total soluble phenolics (TP) content in leaves of 26 macrophyte species in September 2013 in Lake Erhai, China. We found that antioxidation varied accordingly with life forms. The activities of SOD and APX in emergent macrophytes (EM) and floating-leaved macrophytes (FM) were much lower than those of submerged macrophytes (SM). On the contrary, TP content was much higher in EM and FM species. There was a negative correlation between TP and antioxidant enzyme activities (CAT and APX). The results suggested that EM and FM species rely on phenolics might to adapt to adverse environments (higher herbivores predation pressure and UV radiation intensity), while SM species more rely on antioxidant enzymes possibly due to lower demand for antioxidation and/or lack of light and inorganic C availability for phenolics synthesis. We also found FM species represent highest fitness in term of antioxidant system, which would lead to overgrowth of FM species and littoral zone bogginess during lake eutrophication. 14Upgrading CO_(2) into acetate on Bi_(2)O_(3)@carbon felt integrated electrode via coupling electrocatalysis with microbial synthesis显示文摘Upgrading of atmospheric CO_(2) into high-value-added acetate using renewable electricity via electrocatalysis solely remains a great challenge.Here,inspired by microbial synthesis via biocatalysts,we present a coupled system to produce acetate from CO_(2) by bridging inorganic electrocatalysis with microbial synthesis through formate intermediates.A 3D Bi_(2)O_(3)@CF integrated electrode with an ice-sugar gourd shape was fabricated via a straightforward hydrothermal synthesis strategy,wherein Bi_(2)O_(3) microspheres were decorated on carbon fibers.This ice-sugar gourd-shaped architecture endows electrodes with multiple structural advantages,including synergistic contribution,high mass transport capability,high structural stability,and large surface area.Consequently,the resultant Bi_(2)O_(3)@CF exhibited a maximum Faradic efficiency of 92.4%at−1.23 V versus Ag/AgCl for formate generation in 0.5 M KHCO_(3),exceeding that of Bi_(2)O_(3)/CF prepared using a conventional electrode preparation strategy.Benefiting from the high formate selectivity,unique architecture,and good biocompatibility,the Bi_(2)O_(3)@CF electrode attached with enriched CO_(2)-fixing electroautotrophs served as a biocathode.As a result,a considerable acetate yield rate of 0.269±0.009 g L^(−1) day^(−1)(a total acetate yield of 3.77±0.12 g L^(−1) during 14-day operation)was achieved in the electrochemical–microbial system equipped with Bi_(2)O_(3)@CF.Xiaojing Liu Kang Zhang Yidan Sun Shukang Zhang Zhenyu Qiu Tianshun Song Jingjing Xie Yuping Wu Yuhui Chen 2023SusMat2023,3,2:1
