| 1 | Expression and clinical significance of TAp73α, p53, PCNA and apoptosis in hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘AIM: To study the prognostic role of TAp73α, p53, proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) and apoptosis inpatients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) atter surgical tumor ablation.METHODS: Forty-seven human resected HCC tissues and 42 adjacent non-cancerous tissues were studied with 10 normal liver tissues as control group. TAp73α, p53, and PCNA were detected with Elivision immunohistochemistry.Terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase (TdT)-mediatedd-UTP-biotin nick-end labeling (TUNEL) method wasused to detect the apoptosis cells. All clinical and pathological materials were analyzed by SPSS10.0statistical package.RESULTS: TAp73α overexpressed in HCC tissues (36.2%) when compared with adjacent non-cancerous tissues (2.38%, P<0.005) and normal liver tissues (0, P<0.01).Mutant type p53 (mt-p53) overexpressed in HCC tissues (38.3%) when contracted with adjacent non-cancerous tissues (16.7%, P<0.05) and normal liver tissues (0, P<0.01). Proliferation index (PI) level in HCC tissues was significantly higher than that in adjacent non-cancerous tissues (30.34%±4.46% vs 27.88%±5.89%, t, P= 0.028). Apoptosis index (AI) level in HCC tissues was higher than that in adjacent non-cancerous tissues (8.62%±2.28% vs 7.38%±2.61%, t, P = 0.019). Expression of TAp73α was associated with lymph node metastasis and mt-p53, with r = 0.407 and 0.265, respectively. Expression of mtp53 was associated with Edmondson's stage and AFP, with r = 0.295 and -0.357, respectively. In Kaplan-Meier univariant analysis, TAp73α, AFP, TNM stage, portal vein invasion, liver membrane invasion and HBsAg correlated with prognosis (log rank, P = 0.039, 0.012, 0.002, 0.000,0.014, 0.007, respectively). Multivariant Cox regression analysis showed that TAp73α, AFP, TNM stage, portal vein invasion, liver membrane invasion and age were independent factors of prognosis. CONCLUSION: These results suggest that TAp73α can be used as a prognostic indicator of patients with HCC undergoing surgical tumor ablation. | 3 | Prognostic factors in 165 elderly colorectal cancer patients显示文摘AIM: To analyse the prognostic factors in 165 colorectal patients aged ≥70.METHODS: One hundred and sixty-five elderly patients with colorectal cancer diagnosed by histology were entered into the retrospective study between 1994 and 2001. Patients were given optimal operation alone, chemotherapy after operation, or chemotherapy alone according to tumor stage,histology, physical strength, and co-morbid problems.Survival rate was calculated by Kaplan-Meier method, and compared with meaningful variances by Log-rank method.Prognostic factors were analyzed by Cox regression.RESULTS: The 1,2,3,4,5 year survival rate (all-cause rnortality)was 87.76%, 65.96%, 52.05%, 42.77%, 40.51%,respectively. The mean survival time was 41.89±2.33 months (95% CI: 37.33-46.45 months), and the median survival time was 37 months. Univariate analysis showed that factors such as age, nodal metastasis, treatment method, Duke's stage, gross findings, kind of histology, and degree of differentiation had influences on the survival rate. Multivariate analysis showed that factors such as treatment method,Duke's stage, kind of histology and degree of differentiation were independent prognostic factors.CONCLUSION: This study suggests that the prognosis of elderly colorectal cancer patients is influenced by several factors. | 5 | Clinical evaluation of radiotherapy for advanced esophageal cancer after metallic stent placement显示文摘AIM: To evaluate the therapeutic effect of radiotherapy for esophageal cancer after expandable metallic stent placement. METHODS: Ten cases of advanced esophageal cancer were evaluated, 7 having complete obstruction and 3 with digestive-respiratory fistula. Ten nitinol stents were placed at the site of stenosis. Patients were treated with a total dose of i 200 cGy divided into 3 fractions of 400 cGy 4-7 d after stents placement.RESULTS: All the 10 stents were placed successfully at one time. After radiotherapy for advanced esophageal cancer, the survival period of the cases ranged from 14 to 22 too, with a mean survival of 17 mo. | 7 | Glycerolipid Profiling of Yellow Sarson Seeds Using Ultra High Performance Liquid Chromatography Coupled to Triple Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometry显示文摘Yellow sarson(Brassica rapa ssp. trillocularis) is an important rapeseed-mustard species of Brassica rapa due to its high seed oil content. Glycerolipids and fatty acid composition affect seed germination and determine the quality of seed oil. To date, no information is available on the composition of individual glycerolipids in this species. Therefore, in this study the glycerolipid profiling of yellow sarson seeds was performed using ultra high performance liquid chromatography coupled to triple time-of-flight mass spectrometry(UPLC-Triple-TOF-MS).A fast and efficient chromatographic separation of glycerolipids was accomplished based on an UPLCTMBEH C8 column within 22 min.In ESI positive ion mode, TOF-MS scan-information dependent acquisition-product ion scan was carried out to acquire both high resolution MS and MS/MS information from one injection. According to MS/MS spectra, predominant fragmentation patterns of glycerolipids were elucidated in detail. Based on retention time, accurate mass, isotopic distribution, and fragmentation patterns, the composition of 144 glycerolipids and fatty acids were finally identified in yellow sarson seeds, including 77 triacylglycerols, 32 diacylglycerols, 18sulfoquinovosyl-diacylglycerols, 5 monogalactosyl-diaclyglycerols, and 12 digalactosyl-diacylglycerols. Of them, the most abundant glycerolipids in yellow sarson seeds were triacylglycerols, the major storage form of seed oil in plants. In addition, diacylglycerols were found as a minor component of glycerolipids. The lowest amounts of glycerolipids detected in seeds were glycosyl-acylglycerols. The results revealed the composition and relative content of glycerolipids in yellow sarson seeds, which will provide a more comprehensive assessment of the quality of seed oil and also help to select functional cultivars with higher beneficial glycerolipids. | 17 | Tuning the electron transport behavior at Li/LATP interface for enhanced cyclability of solid-state Li batteries显示文摘An interlayer is usually employed to tackle the interfacial instability issue between solid electrolytes(SEs)and Li metal caused by the side reaction.However,the failure mechanism of the ionic conductor interlayers,especially the influence from electron penetration,remains largely unknown.Herein,using Li1.3Al0.3Ti1.7(PO4)3(LATP)as the model SE and LiF as the interlayer,we use metal semiconductor contact barrier theory to reveal the failure origin of Li/LiF@LATP interface based on the calculation results of density functional theory(DFT),in which electrons can easily tunnel through the LiF grain boundary with F vacancies due to its narrow barrier width against electron injection,followed by the reduction of LATP.Remarkably,an Al-LiF bilayer between Li/LATP is found to dramatically promote the interfacial stability,due to the highly increased barrier width and homogenized electric field at the interface.Consequently,the Li symmetric cells with Al-LiF bilayer can exhibit excellent cyclability of more than 2,000 h superior to that interlayered by LiF monolayer(~860 h).Moreover,the Li/Al-LiF@LATP/LiFePO4 solid-state batteries deliver a capacity retention of 83.2%after 350 cycles at 0.5 C.Our findings emphasize the importance of tuning the electron transport behavior by optimizing the potential barrier for the interface design in high-performance solid-state batteries. | Linshan Luo Feng Zheng Haowen Gao Chaofei Lan Zhefei Sun Wei Huang Xiang Han Ziqi Zhang Pengfei Su Peng Wang Shengshi Guo Guangyang Lin Jianfang Xu Jianyuan Wang Jun Li Cheng Li Qiaobao Zhang Shunqing Wu Ming-Sheng Wang Songyan Chen | 2023 | Nano Research2023,16,1: | 0 |

| 20 | High gain,broadband p-WSe_(2)/n-Ge van der Waals heterojunction phototransistor with a Schottky barrier collector显示文摘Mixed-dimensional van der Waals(vdW)heterostructures based on two-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenides and threedimensional semiconductors have led to a new era in next-generation optoelectronics due to the high-quality interfaces and energy band complementation,especially in broadband photodetectors which can be used for all-weather navigation,object identification,etc.However,the reported photodetectors conventionally operated in photodiode mode with low responsivity and a narrow response spectrum.In this study,we report a p-WSe_(2)/n-Ge vdW heterojunction phototransistor with a Schottky barrier collector on n-Ge for broadband photodetection.Large hole/electron injection ratio from p-WSe_(2)/n-Ge heterojunction under forward bias due to their large bandgap offset renders the high photocurrent gain,while the Ge Schottky barrier limits the dark current.The responsivities of the phototransistor at 1.0 V emitter-collector bias are 55,95,and 120 A·W−1 at 405,1,310,and 1,550 nm,respectively,which is superior to that of the corresponding p-WSe_(2)/n-Ge photodiodes.The phototransistor shows a high photocurrent gain of 80,a specific detectivity of 1011 Jones,as well as a fast response time of 290μs at 1,550 nm.The results suggest that the novel phototransistor being implemented with complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor processing is an ideal strategy for high-performance broadband photodetection. | Shuo Li Qiang Wu Haokun Ding Songsong Wu Xinwei Cai Rui Wang Jun Xiong Guangyang Lin Wei Huang Songyan Chen Cheng Li | 2023 | Nano Research2023,16,4: | 0 |
