Active tectonic blocks and strong earthquakes in the continent of China显示文摘The primary pattern of the late Cenozoic to the present tectonic deformation of China is characterized by relative movements and interactions of tectonic blocks. Active tectonic blocks are geological units that have been separated from each other by active tectonic zones. Boundaries between blocks are the highest gradient of differential movement. Most of tectonic activity occurs on boundaries of the blocks. Earthquakes are results of abrupt releases of accumulated strain energy that reaches the threshold of strength of the earth's crust. Boundaries of tectonic blocks are the locations of most discontinuous deformation and highest gradient of stress accumulation, thus are the most likely places for strain energy accumulation and releases, and in turn, devastating earthquakes. Almost all earthquakes of magnitude greater than 8 and 80%-90% of earthquakes of magnitude over 7 occur along boundaries of active tectonic blocks. This fact indicates that differential movements and interactions of active tectonic blocks are the primary mechanism for the occurrences of devastating earthquakes. | ZHANG Peizhen (张培震) DENG Qidong (邓起东) ZHANG Guomin (张国民) MA Jin (马 瑾) GAN Weijun (甘卫军) MIN Wei (闵 伟) MAO Fengying (毛凤英) WANG Qi (王 琪) | 2003 | Science China Earth Sciences2003,46,z2: | 239
A complete sequence and comparative analysis of a SARS-associated virus(Isolate BJ01)显示文摘The genome sequence of the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS)-associated virus provides essential information for the identification of pathogen(s), exploration of etiology and evolution, interpretation of transmission and pathogenesis, development of diagnostics, prevention by future vaccination, and treatment by developing new drugs. We report the complete genome sequence and comparative analysis of an isolate (BJ01) of the coronavirus that has been recognized as a pathogen for SARS. The genome is 29725 nt in size and has 11 ORFs (Open Reading Frames). It is composed of a stable region encoding an RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (composed of 2 ORFs) and a variable region representing 4 CDSs (coding sequences) for viral structural genes (the S, E, M, N proteins) and 5 PUPs (putative uncharacterized proteins). Its gene order is identical to that of other known coronaviruses. The sequence alignment with all known RNA viruses places this virus as a member in the family of Coronaviridae. Thirty putative substitutions have been identified by comparative analysis of the 5 SARS- associated virus genome sequences in GenBank. Fifteen of them lead to possible amino acid changes (non-synonymous mutations) in the proteins. Three amino acid changes, with predicted alteration of physical and chemical features, have been detected in the S protein that is postulated to beinvolved in the immunoreactions between the virus and its host. Two amino acid changes have been detected in the Mprotein, which could be related to viral envelope formation. Phylogenetic analysis suggests the possibility of non-human origin of the SARS-associated viruses but provides noevidence that they are man-made. Further efforts should focus on identifying the etiology of the SARS-associated virus and ruling out conclusively the existence of otherpossible SARS-related pathogen(s). | QIN E'de ZHU Qingyu YU Man FAN Baochang CHANG Guohui SI Bingyin YANG Bao PENG Wenming JIANG Tao LIU Bohua DENG Yongqiang LIU Hong ZHANG Yu WANG Cui LI Yuquan GAN Yonghua LI Xiaoyu L Fushuang TAN Gang CAO Wuchun, YANG Ruifu Institute of Microbiology and Epidemiology, Chinese Academy of Military Medical Sciences, Beijing 100071, China WANG Jian, LI Wei, XU Zuyuan, LI Yan, WU Qingfa, LIN Wei, CHEN Weijun, TANG Lin, DENG Yajun, HAN Yujun, LI Changfeng, LEI Meng, LI Guoqing, LI Wenjie, L Hong, SHI Jianping, TONG Zongzhong, ZHANG Feng, LI Songgang, LIU Bin, LIU Siqi, DONG Wei, WANG Jun, Gane K-S Wong, YU Jun & YANG Huanming* Beijing Genomics Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing 101300 National Center for Genome Information, Beijing 101300, China | 2003 | Chinese Science Bulletin2003,48,10: | 121
GPS-constrained inversion of present-day slip rates along major faults of the Sichuan-Yunnan region, China显示文摘A linked-fault-element model is employed to invert for contemporary slip rates along major active faults in the Sichuan-Yunnan region (96°-108°E, 21°-35°N) using the least squares method. The model is based on known fault geometry, and constrained by a GPS-derived horizontal velocity field. Our results support a model attributing the eastward extrusion of the Tibetan Plateau driven mainly by the north-northeastward indentation of the Indian plate into Tibet and the gravitational collapse of the plateau. Resisted by a relatively stable south China block, materials of the Sichuan-Yunnan region rotate clockwise around the eastern Himalayan tectonic syntaxis. During the process the Garzê-Yushu, Xianshuihe, Anninghe, Zemuhe, Daliangshan, and Xiaojiang faults, the southwest extension of the Xiaojiang fault, and the Daluo-Jinghong and Mae Chan faults constitute the northeast and east boundaries of the eastward extrusion, with their left slip rates being 0.3-14.7, 8.9-17.1, 5.1 ± 2.5, 2.8 ± 2.3, 7.1 ± 2.1, 9.4 ± 1.2, 10.1 ± 2.0, 7.3 ± 2.6, and 4.9 ± 3.0 mm/a respectively. The southwestern boundary consists of a widely distributed dextral transpressional zone other than a single fault. Right slip rates of 4.2 ± 1.3, 4.3 ± 1.1, and 8.5 ± 1.7 mm/a are detected across the Nanhua-Chuxiong-Jianshui, Wuliangshan, and Longling-Lancang faults. Crustal deformation across the Longmenshan fault is weak, with short-ening rates of 1.4 ± 1.0 and 1.6 ± 1.3 mm/a across the Baoxing-Beichuan and Beichuan-Qingchuan segments. Northwest of the Longmenshan fault lies an active deformation zone (the Longriba fault) with 5.1±1.2 mm/a right slip across. Relatively large slip rates are detected across a few faults within the Sichuan-Yunnan block: 4.4±1.3 mm/a left slip and 2.7±1.1 mm/a shortening across the Litang fault, and 2.7±2.3 mm/a right-lateral shearing and 6.7±2.3 mm/a shortening across the Yunongxi fault and its surrounding regions. In conclusion, we find that the Sichuan-Yunnan region is divided into more than a dozen active micro-blocks by a large number of faults with relatively slow slip rates. The eastward extrusion of the Tibetan Plateau is absorbed and adjusted in the region mainly by these faults, other than a small number of large strike-slip faults with fast slip rates. | WANG YanZhao WANG EnNing SHEN ZhengKang WANG Min GAN WeiJun QIAO XueJun MENG GuoJie LI TieMing TAO Wei YANG YongLin CHENG Jia LI Peng | 2008 | Science China Earth Sciences2008,51,9: | 65
Contemporary crustal deformation of the Chinese continent and tectonic block model显示文摘We obtain the preliminary result of crustal deformation velocity field for the Chinese con-tinent by analyzing GPS data from the Crustal Motion Observation Network of China (CMONOC), particularly the data from the regional networks of CMONOC observed in 1999 and 2001. We de-lineate 9 tectonically active blocks and 2 broadly distributed deformation zones out of a denseGPS velocity field, and derive block motion Euler poles for the blocks and their relative motionrates. Our result reveals that there are 3 categories of deformation patterns in the Chinese conti-nent. The first category, associated with the interior of the Tibetan Plateau and the Tianshan oro-genic belt, shows broadly distributed deformation within the regions. The third category, associatedwith the Tarim Basin and the region east of the north-south seismic belt of China, shows block-likemotion, with deformation accommodated along the block boundaries only. The second category, mainly associated with the borderland of the Tibetan Plateau, such as the Qaidam, Qilian, Xining(in eastern Qinghai), and the Diamond-shaped (in western Sichuan and Yunnan) blocks, has thedeformation pattern between the first and the third, i.e. these regions appear to deform block-like,but with smaller sizes and less strength for the blocks. Based on the analysis of the lithosphericstructures and the deformation patterns of the regions above, we come to the inference that thedeformation modes of the Chinese continental crust are mainly controlled by the crustal structure. The crust of the eastern China and the Tarim Basin is mechanically strong, and its deformationtakes the form of relative motion between rigid blocks. On the other hand, the northward indentation of the Indian plate into the Asia continent has created the uplift of the Tibetan Plateau and the Tianshan Mountains, thickened their crust, and raised the temperature in the crust. The lower crust thus has become ductile, evidenced in low seismic velocity and high electric conductivity observed. The brittle part of the crust, driven by the visco-plastic flow of the lower crust, deforms extensively at all scales. The regions of the second category located at the borderland of the Tibetan Plateau are at the transition zone between the regions of the first and the third categories in terms of the crustal structure. Driven by the lateral boundary forces, their deformation style is also between the two, in the form of block motion and deformation with smaller blocks and less internal strength. | WANG Min (王 敏) SHEN Zhengkang (沈正康) NIU Zhijun (牛之俊) ZHANG Zusheng (张祖胜) SUN Hanrong (孙汉荣) GAN Weijun (甘卫军) WANG Qi (王 琪) REN Qun (任 群) | 2003 | Science China Earth Sciences2003,46,z2: | 33
Characteristics of strong earthquake evolution around the eastern boundary faults of the Sichuan-Yunnan rhombic block显示文摘Based on the existing materials of fault segmentation, characteristic earthquakes, and their empirical relationships,we calculated the parameters of the fault segments, such as length, width, magnitudes of characteristic earthquakes, etc.Constrained by GPS velocity field, the slip rates of these fault segments in depth were inversed using the 3-D half-space elastic dislocation model. As not all of the recurrence periods and co-seismic displacements of characteristic earthquakes are known,we selected the fault segments with these two parameters known and calculated the accumulation rate of average co-seismic displacement, which shows the faults' slip rate in seismogenic layer. Then, the slip rate in depth was compared with that in seismogenic layer, the relationship between them was obtained, and this relationship was used to get the recurrence periods and co-seismic displacements of all fault segments. After the studies above,we calculated the co-seismic deformation field of all the earthquakes larger than M s 6.8 from AD 1700 one by one and inversed the potential displacement in the co-seismic deformation field. Then,we divided the potential displacement by the slip rate from GPS inversion to get the influences of these fault segments, added the influences into the elapsed time of the characteristic earthquakes, and obtained the earthquake hazard degree of all the segments we studied in the form of the ratio of elapsed time to recurrence period;so,we name the ratio as the Impending Earthquake Risk (IER).Historical earthquake cases show that the fault segment is in safety when the IER is less than 1 but in danger after the IER becomes larger than 1.In 2009,the IER is larger than 1 on the following segments,1.35 on the Tagong segment of Xianshuihe fault,1 on the Menggu-Dongchuan segment,1.04 on the Dongchuan-Xundian segment, and 1.09 on the Yiliang-Chengjiang segment of Xiaojiang fault. | CHENG Jia LIU Jie GAN WeiJun YU HuaiZhong LI Gang | 2011 | Science China Earth Sciences2011,54,11: | 15
Movement of Ordos block and alternation of activity along its boundaries显示文摘The GPS data in and around the Ordos block area indicate that the left-lateral slip rate along the northern or southern margin of the Ordos block is about twice or three times as fast as the right-lateral slip rate along the eastern or western margin of the block. However, many researchers stressed the dextral-slip of the eastern or western boundaries of the Ordos block, and suggested that the block as a whole rotated counterclockwise based on the available geological data. Focusing on the inconsistency, we reexamine the late Cenozoic deformation pattern in the Ordos region based on seismicity data and geodesy data (GPS and leveling) around it. The results indicate that the rigid block-like motion appears to be the basic characteristic of the kinematics of the Ordos region, and this motion is absorbed by the displacement of the faults around the block. When the faults along the northern and southern boundaries of the Ordos block are active, its eastern boundary is inactive. However, if the faults along the eastern boundary are active, the northern and southern are inactive. In recent years, the northern and southern boundaries of the Ordos block are in active. But in the long term, the Ordos block is moving southeastward relative to the Alxa and Yinshan blocks because of the strong pushing of the Tibetan Plateau on its southwestern side, and this deformation is accommodated by the counterclockwise rotation of the block itself. | FAN Junxi (范俊喜) MA Jin (马 瑾) GAN Weijun (甘卫军) | 2003 | Science China Earth Sciences2003,46,z2: | 11
Near-field surface movement during the Wenchuan M_s8.0 earthquake measured by high-rate GPS显示文摘Based on high-rate (1 Hz) GPS data from the Sichuan GPS Continuous Observation Network on the footwall of the Longmenshan Fault, we have characterized the near-field surface movement process during the 5.12 Wenchuan Earthquake. Results show that the maximum deformation near the fault is larger than the deformation set. Stations on the northern segment of the fault moved towards the epicenter first, and then turned toward the vertical orientation of the fault. Deformation of stations on the southern segment is smaller and recovered. The initial motion at all of the stations was downward followed by periodic up and down movements. Comparing the displacement from high-rate GPS and accelerograph data, we can see that they are consistent prior to the arrival of the principal shock, but afterwards a 10 cm difference is found, even though they are synchronized and in phase. More work is yet to be done to explain this. This is the first time that actual the real near-field surface movements of an earth- quake of M >7.0 have been determined in china. These measurements are therefore of high value for studies of surface rupture processes and the analysis of seismic wave travels paths in this region. | YIN HaiTao ZHANG PeiZhen GAN WeiJun WANG Min LIAO Hua LI XiaoJun LI Jie XIAO GenRu | 2010 | Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,23: | 11
Biofilm Microenvironment-Responsive Nanotheranostics for Dual-Mode Imaging and Hypoxia-Relief-Enhanced Photodynamic Therapy of Bacterial Infections显示文摘The formation of bacterial biofilms closely associates with infectious diseases.Until now, precise diagnosis and effective treatment of bacterial biofilm infections are still in great need.Herein,a novel multifunctional theranostic nanoplatform based on MnO_(2)nanosheets(MnO_(2)NSs)has been designed to achieve pH-responsive dual-mode imaging and hypoxia-relief-enhanced antimicrobial photodynamic therapy(aPDT)of bacterial biofilm infections. In this study,MnO_(2)NSs were modified with bovine serum albumin(BSA)and polyethylene glycol(PEG)and then loaded with chlorin e_(6)(Ce_(6))as photosensitizer to form MnO_(2)-BSA/PEG-Ce_(6)nanosheets(MBP-Ce_(6)NSs).After being delivered into the bacterial biofilm-infected tissues, the MBP-Ce_(6)NSs could be decomposed in acidic biofilm microenvironment and release Ce_(6)with Mn^(2+),which subsequently activate both fluorescence(FL)and magnetic resonance(MR)signals for effective dual-mode FL/MR imaging of bacterial biofilm infections.Meanwhile,MnO_(2)could catalyze the decomposing of H2O_(2)in biofilm-infected tissues into O_(2)and relieve the hypoxic condition of biofilm, which significantly enhances the efficacy of aPDT.An in vitro study showed that MBP-Ce_(6)NSs could significantly reduce the number of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus(MRSA)in biofilms after 635nm laser irradiation.Guided by FL/MR imaging,MRSA biofilm-infected mice can be efficiently treated by MBP-Ce_(6)NSs-based aPDT.Overall,MBP-Ce_(6)NSs not only possess biofilm microenvironment-responsive dual-mode FL/MR imaging ability but also have significantly enhanced aPDT efficacy by relieving the hypoxia habitat of biofilm, which provides a promising theranostic nanoplatform for bacterial biofilm infections. | Weijun Xiu Siyu Gan Qirui Wen Qiu Qiu Sulai Dai Heng Dong Qiang Li Lihui Yuwen Lixing Weng Zhaogang Teng Yongbin Mou Lianhui Wang | 2020 | Research2020,,1: | 7
Deformation of the Haiyuan-Liupanshan fault zone inferred from the denser GPS observations显示文摘The Haiyuan-Liupanshan fault,an active tectonic feature at the Tibetan Plateau's northeastern boundary, was ruptured by two MS earthquakes(1920 and 1927)bracketing an unbroken section(the Tianzhu seismic gap).A high seismic hazard is expected along the gap.To monitor deformation characteristics and do a seismic risk assessment,we made measurements at two newly built campaign-mode Global Positioning System(GPS) stations and 13 pre-existing stations in 2013 and 2014.Adding existing data from 1999 to 2014,we derived a new velocity field.Based on the horizontal velocity,we used three block models to invert the deformation of four crustal blocks. The results suggest non-uniform deformation in the interior of the Lanzhou block, the Ordos block and the Alaxan block, but uniform deformation in the Qilian block.Fault slip rates derived from block models show a decreasing trend from west to east,(2.0-3.2 mm/a on the Haiyuan fault to 0.9-1.5 mm/a on the Liupanshan fault). The Haiyuan fault evidences sinistral striking-slip movement, while the Liupanshan fault is primarily thrusting due to transformation of the displacement between the strike-slip and crustal shortening. The locking depth of each segment along the Haiyuan fault obtained by fitting the fault parallel velocities varies drastically from west to east(21.8-7.1 km).The moment accumulation rate, calculated using the slip rate and locking depth,is positively correlated with the locking depth.Given the paucity of large seismic events during the previous millennium, the Tuolaishan segment and the Maomaoshan segment have higher likelihood of nucleation for a future event. | Yanchuan Li Chunyan Qu Xinjian Shan Xiaogang Song Guohong Zhang Weijun Gan Shaoyan Wen Zhenjie Wang | 2015 | Earthquake Science2015,28,5: | 4
Crustal strain rates of southeastern Tibetan Plateau derived from GPS measurements and implications to lithospheric deformation of the Shan-Thai terrane显示文摘The link between the crustal deformation and mantle kinematics in the Tibetan Plateau has been well known thanks to dense GPS measurements and the relatively detailed anisotropy structure of the lithospheric mantle. However, whether the crust deforms coherently with the upper mantle in the Shan-Thai terrane(also known as the Shan-Thai block) remains unclear. In this study, we investigate the deformation patterns through strain rate tensors in the southeastern Tibetan Plateau derived from the latest GPS measurements and find that in the Shan-Thai terrane the upper crust may be coupled with the lower crust and the upper mantle. The GPS-derived strain rate tensors are in agreement with the slipping patterns and rates of major strike-slip faults in the region. The most prominent shear zone, whose shear strain rates are larger than 100×10^(–9) a^(–1), is about 1000-km-long in the west, trending northward along Sagaing fault to the Eastern Himalayan Syntaxis in the north, with maximum rate of compressive strain up to –240×10^(–9) a^(–1).A secondary shear zone along the Anninghe-Xiaojiang Fault in the east shows segmented shear zones near several conjunctions. While the strain rate along RRF is relatively low due to the low slip rate and low seismicity there, in Lijiang and Tengchong several local shear zones are present under an extensional dominated stress regime that is related to normal faulting earthquakes and volcanism, respectively.Furthermore, by comparing GPS-derived strain rate tensors with earthquake focal mechanisms, we find that 75.8%(100 out of 132) of the earthquake T-axes are consistent with the GPS-derived strain rates. Moreover, we find that the Fast Velocity Direction(FVDs) at three depths beneath the Shan-Thai terrane are consistent with extensional strain rate with gradually increasing angular differences, which are likely resulting from the basal shear forces induced by asthenospheric flow associated with the oblique subduction of the India plate beneath the Shan-Thai terrane. Therefore, in this region the upper crust deformation may be coherent with that of the lower crust and the lithospheric mantle. | KeLiang Zhang ShiMing Liang WeiJun Gan | 2019 | Earth and Planetary Physics2019,3,1: | 3
Far-field coseismic displacements associated with the great Sumatra earthquakes of December 26,2004 and March 29,2005 constrained by Global Positioning System显示文摘Based on continuous GPS observations within China as well as global GPS tracking network, a calculation has been made of far-field coseismic displacements associated with the December, 2004 (Mw = 9.3) and March, 2005 (Mw = 8.7) earthquakes. The far-field coseismic displacements are associated with the 2004 shock range more than 6000―7000 km in both north-south and east-west dimensions, and depict an undulated wave pattern of contraction and extension. | 12 | Influence of 2008 Wenchuan earthquake on earthquake occurrence trend of active faults in Sichuan-Yunnan region显示文摘The Wenchuan earthquake coseismic deformation field is inferred from the coseismic dislocation data based on a 3-D geometric model of the active faults in Sichuan-Yunnan region. Then the potential dislocation displacement is inverted from the deformation field in the 3-D geometric model. While the faults' slip velocities are inverted from GPS and leveling data, which can be used as the long-term slip vector. After the potential dislocation displacements are projected to long-term slip direction,we have got the influence of Wenchuan earthquake on active faults in Sichuan-Yunnan region. The results show that the northwestern segment of Longmenshan fault, the southern segments of Xianshuihe fault,Anninghe fault,Zemuhe fault, northern and southern segments of Daliangshan fault,Mabian fault got earthquake risks advanced of 305,19,12,9.1 and 18,51 years respectively in the eastern part of Sichuan and Yunnan. The Lijiang-Xiaojinhe fault,Nujiang fault,Longling-Lancang fault,Nantinghe fault and Zhongdian fault also got earthquake risks advanced in the western part of Sichuan-Yunnan region.Whereas the northwestern segment of Xianshuihe fault and Xiaojiang fault got earthquake risks reduced after the Wenchuan earthquake. | Jia Cheng Jie Liu Weijun Gan Gang Li | 2009 | Earthquake Science2009,22,5: | 1

On the Consistency of Large Earthquake Moment and Strain Rate Inferred from GPS Data in North China显示文摘The new GPS data can map crustal strain rates over large areas with a useful degree of precision. Stable strain measurement results open the door for improved estimates of earthquake occurrence. The Kostrov’s formula (1974) translates the smoothed strain rates in North China into geodetic moment rates. In North China, the ratio of seismic moment released to moment accumulated from GPS measurement is 60.6% in NS direction, 68.9% in EW direction, and 104.1% in NE shear direction. The near unit ratio points to the reliability of GPS measurements there. | 15 | Seismogenic structure of the 2016 Ms6.4 Menyuan earthquake and its effect on the Tianzhu seismic gap显示文摘On January 21, 2016, a strong earthquake with a magnitude of Ms6.4 occurred at Menyuan,Qinghai Province of China. In almost the same region, there was another strong earthquake happened in 1986, with similar magnitude and focal mechanism. Based on comprehensive analysis of regional active faults, focal mechanism solutions, precise locations of aftershocks, as well as GPS crustal deformation, we inferred that the Lenglongling active fault dips NE rather than SW as suggested by previous studies. Considering the facts that the 2016 and 1986 Ms6.4 Menyuan earthquakes are closely located with similar focal mechanisms, both of the quakes are on the north side of the Lenglongling Fault and adjacent to the fault, and the fault is dipping NE direction, we suggest that the fault should be the seismogenic structure of the two events. The Lenglongling Fault, as the western segment of the well-known Tianzhu seismic gap in the Qilian-Haiyuan active fault system,is in a relatively active state with frequent earthquakes in recent years, implying a high level of strain accumulation and a high potential of major event. It is also possible that the Lenglongling Fault and its adjacent fault, the Jinqianghe Fault in the Tianzhu seismic gap,are rupturing simultaneously in the future. | Yanbao Li Weijun Gan Yuebing Wang Weitao Chen Shiming Liang Keliang Zhang Yongqi Zhang | 2016 | Geodesy and Geodynamics2016,7,4: | 0
Characteristics of regional crustal deformation before 2016 Menyuan Ms6.4 earthquake显示文摘On January 21, 2016, a strong earthquake with a magnitude of Ms6.4 happened at Menyuan,Qinghai Province of China. In almost the same place, there was another strong earthquake happened in 1986, with similar magnitude and focal mechanism. In this paper, we analyze the characteristics of regional crustal deformation before the 2016 Menyuan Ms6.4 earthquake by using the data from 10 continuous Global Positioning System(GPS) stations and 74 campaign-mode GPS stations within 200 km of this event:(a) Based on the velocity field from over ten years GPS observations, a regional strain rate field is calculated. The results indicate that the crustal strain rate and seismic moment accumulation rate of the QilianHaiyuan active fault, which is the seismogenic tectonics of the event, are significantly higher than the surrounding regions. In a 20 km × 20 km area around the seismogenic region, the maximum and minimum principal strain rates are 21.5 nanostrain/a(NW-SE extension) and -46.6 nanostrain/a(NE-SW compression), respectively, and the seismic moment accumulation rates is 17.4 Nm/a. The direction of principal compression is consistent with the focal mechanism of this event.(b) Based on the position time series of the continuous GPS stations for a time-span of about 6 years before the event, we calculate the strain time series. The results show that the dilatation of the seismogenic region is continuously reduced with a 'non-linear' trend since 2010, which means the seismogenic region has been in a state of compression. However, about 2-3 months before the event, both the dilatation and maximum shear strain show significant inverse trends. These abnormal changes of crustal deformation may reflect the non-linear adjustment of the stressestrain accumulation of the seismogenic region, when the accumulation is approaching the critical value of rupture. | Weitao Chen Weijun Gan Genru Xiao Yuebing Wang Weiping Lian Shiming Liang Keliang Zhang | 2016 | Geodesy and Geodynamics2016,7,4: | 0
Earthquake fault framework and seismotectonics of the Songpan-Garze region since 1900显示文摘Based on 4 781 observed faults (>2 km length) from a 1:200 000 scale digital geologic map and 5 220 recorded seismic events since the year 1900, 993 earthquake faults are identified within the triangular Songpan-Garze study region. The study area is delineated by the nearly EW-trending East Kunlun fault zone to the north, the NW-trending Xianshuihe fault to the south and the NE-trending Longmenshan thrust belt to the east. Seismicity changes along these earthquake faults, spanning four 10-year intervals since 1970, show that following a strong earthquake swarm, which occurred in the Huya area in the mid-1970s, seismic activity increased from north to south, and migrated eastward along each major strike-slip fault zone. GPS observation data before 2008 indicate a displacement rate across the Xianshuihe fault zone to the south of ~6.5-8.6 mm/a, whereas across the East Kunlun fault zone to the north it was ~1.8-2.2 mm/a. The May 12, 2008 M S 8.0 Wenchuan earthquake, which occurred in the southeast corner of the study region, was the result of stable, high-speed left-lateral displacement along the Xianshuihe fault zone, and a sharp eastward bend of the fault trend in response to the presence of crystalline rocks in the Kangding area. Therefore, the 110-year established seismotectonic framework of the Songpan-Garze region can be defined by a network of various earthquake faults and the structural relations of the local earthquake activities. | Jiasheng Zhang Weijun Gan Minghua Zhang Xiongnan Huang Feng Liu | 2012 | Earthquake Science2012,25,5: | 0
Identification methods of coal-bearing source rocks for Yacheng Formation in the western deepwater area of South China Sea显示文摘Owing to the fact that the coal-beds are with the characteristics of multi-beds, thin single-bed, rapid lateral changes and deep burial, coal-bearing source rocks are difficult to be identified and predicted, especially in the lower exploration deepwater area. In this paper, a new integrative process utilizing geology and geophysics is proposed for better predicting the distribution of coal-bearing source rocks. Coal-beds were identified by the logging responses of 'three higher, three lower, and one expand' and carbargilite were recognized by the characteristics of 'four higher and one lower'. Based on the above logical decision, coal-beds and carbargilite can be distinguished automatically by cluster analysis of logging curves in verticality. Within the constraints of wellseismic calibration, the coal-beds group also can be detected in horizontality by the integrated representation of'negative phase, higher Q, lower impedance and lower frequency' within the seismic data. However, the distribution of coal-bearing source rocks utilizing geophysical methodology may do not conform to the geological rules of coal accumulation. And then the main geological controlling factors of coal accumulation are comprehensively analyzed as follows:(1) Paleotopography and tectonic subsidence determine the planar range of terrestrial-marine transitional facies markedly;(2) The relative sea level changes affect the accommodation space and shoreline migration, and limit the vertical range of coal-beds. More specifically, the relationship between the accommodation creation rate and the peat accumulation rate is a fundamental control on coal accumulation. The thickest and most widespread coals form where those two factors reached a state of balance;(3) The supply of autochthonous clasts and the distance between deposition places and paleovegetation accumulated area are the critical factor to form abundant coal, which means that if deposition area is close to paleouplift, there would be sufficient organic matters to form abundant source rocks. The results show that the integrated methods can significantly improve prediction accuracy of coal-bearing source rocks, which is suitable for early exploration of western deepwater area of South China Sea. | REN Jinfeng ZHANG Yingzhao WANG Hua WANG Yahui GAN Huajun HE Weijun SUN Ming SONG Guangzeng | 2015 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2015,34,4: | 0
CACA Guidelines for Holistic Integrative Management of Breast Cancer显示文摘Purpose:Breast cancer is now the most common malignant tumor worldwide.About one-fourth of female cancer patients all over the world sufer from breast cancer. And about one in six female cancer deaths worldwide is caused by breast cancer. In terms of absolute numbers of cases and deaths,China ranks frst in the world. The CACA Guidelines for Holistic Integrative Management of Breast Cancer were edited to help improve the diagnosis and comprehensive treatment in China. Methods:The Grading of Recommendations Assessment,Development and Evaluation(GRADE)was used to classify evidence and consensus. Results:The CACA Guidelines for Holistic Integrative Management of Breast Cancer include the epidemiology of breast cancer, breast cancer screening, breast cancer diagnosis, early breast cancer treatment, advanced breast cancer treatment,follow-up,rehabilitation,and traditional Chinese medicine treatment of breast cancer patients. Conclusion:We to standardize the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer in China through the formulation of the CACA Guidelines. | Jiong Wu Daiming Fan Zhimin Shao Binghe Xu Guosheng Ren Zefei Jiang Yongsheng Wang Feng Jin Jin Zhang Qingyuan Zhang Fei Ma Jinli Ma Zhonghua Wang Shusen Wang Xiaojia Wang Shu Wang Haibo Wang Tao Wang Xiang Wang Jing Wang Jia Wang Biyun Wang Li Fu Hongyuan Li Yehui Shi Lu Gan Yunjiang Liu Jian Liu Zhenzhen Liu Qiang Liu Qiang Sun Wenwu Cheng Keda Yu Zhongsheng Tong Xinhong Wu Chuangui Song Jianguo Zhang Jian Zhang Junjie Li Bin Li Man Li Huiping Li Wentao Yang Hongjian Yang Benlong Yang Hong Bu Juping Shen Zhenzhou Shen Yiding Chen Ceshi Chen Da Pang Zhimin Fan Ying Zheng Xiaoli Yu Guangyu Liu Xichun Hu Yiqun Ling Jinhai Tang Yongmei Yin Cuizhi Geng Peng Yuan Yajia Gu Cai Chang Xuchen Cao Yuan Sheng Yuanxi Huang Jian Huang Weijun Peng Xiaohua Zeng Yuntao Xie Ning Liao Committee of Breast Cancer Society,Chinese Anti-Cancer Association | 2022 | Holistic Integrative Oncology2022,1,1: | 0
Crustal Deformation Background Simulation of the Kekexili M_S8.1 Earthquake Happening in 2001显示文摘Using the GPS velocity data from 27 stations around the Eastern Kunlun fault as constraints,we first invert the slip velocities of the Eastern Kunlun fault, the north boundary fault of the Qaidam basin, the Mani-Yushu fault and the Margai Caka fault before the Kekexili MS8.1 earthquake with a 3-D elastic half-space dislocation model. The deformation field calculated from the slip movement of these faults can be considered the deformation background field of the earthquake. Based on the deformation background field with tectonic implications,we have obtained the strain field and earthquake moment accumulation field. The results show that there are two obvious high moment accumulation rate regions, one of which is the Dongdatan-Xidatan segment of the Eastern Kunlun fault where the M_S8.1 earthquake occurred in 2001. | Cheng Jia Gan Weijun Wang Zehe Chen Weitao Xiao Genru | 2009 | Earthquake Research in China2009,23,4: | 0
