2ALK,the Key Gene for Gelatinization Temperature,is a Modifier Gene for Gel Consistency in Rice显示文摘Gelatinization temperature(GT) is an important parameter in evaluating the cooking and eating quality of rice.Indeed,the phenotype,biochemistry and inheritance of GT have been widely studied in recent times.Previous map-based cloning revealed that GT was controlled by ALK gene,which encodes a putative soluble starch synthase II-3.Complementation vector and RNAi vector were constructed and transformed into Nipponbare mediated by Agrobacterium.Phenotypic and molecular analyses of transgenic lines provided direct evidence for ALK as a key gene for GT.Meanwhile,amylose content,gel consistency and pasting properties were also affected in transgenic lines.Two of four nonsynonymous single nucleotide polymorphisms in coding sequence of ALK were identified as essential for GT.Based on the single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs),two new sets of SNP markers combined with one cleaved amplified polymorphic sequence marker were developed for application in rice quality breeding.Zhenyu Gao Dali Zeng Fangmin Cheng Zhixi Tian Longbiao Guo Yan Su Meixian Yan Hua Jiang Guojun Dong Yuchen Huang Bin Han Jiayang Li Qian Qian 2011Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2011,53,9:13

4A wireless, implantable optoelectrochemical probe for optogenetic stimulation and dopamine detection显示文摘Physical and chemical technologies have been continuously progressing advances in neuroscience research.The development of research tools for closed-loop control and monitoring neural activities in behaving animals is highly desirable.In this paper,we introduce a wirelessly operated,miniaturized microprobe system for optical interrogation and neurochemical sensing in the deep brain.Via epitaxial liftoff and transfer printing,microscale light-emitting diodes(micro-LEDs)as light sources and poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)polystyrene sulfonate(PEDOT:PSS)-coated diamond films as electrochemical sensors are vertically assembled to form implantable optoelectrochemical probes for real-time optogenetic stimulation and dopamine detection capabilities.A customized,lightweight circuit module is employed for untethered,remote signal control,and data acquisition.After the probe is injected into the ventral tegmental area(VTA)of freely behaving mice,in vivo experiments clearly demonstrate the utilities of the multifunctional optoelectrochemical microprobe system for optogenetic interference of place preferences and detection of dopamine release.The presented options for material and device integrations provide a practical route to simultaneous optical control and electrochemical sensing of complex nervous systems.Changbo Liu Yu Zhao Xue Cai Yang Xie Taoyi Wang Dali Cheng Lizhu Li Rongfeng Li Yuping Deng He Ding Guoqing Lv Guanlei Zhao Lei Liu Guisheng Zou Meixin Feng Qian Sun Lan Yin Xing Sheng 2020Microsystems & Nanoengineering2020,6,1:3
5Optoelectronic sensing of biophysical and biochemical signals based on photon recycling of a micro-LED显示文摘Conventional bioelectrical sensors and systems integrate multiple power harvesting,signal amplification and data transmission components for wireless biological signal detection.This paper reports the real-time biophysical and biochemical activities can be optically captured using a microscale light-emitting diode(micro-LED),eliminating the need for complicated sensing circuit.Such a thin-film diode based device simultaneously absorbs and emits photons,enabling wireless power harvesting and signal transmission.Additionally,owing to its strong photon-recycling effects,the micro-LED^photoluminescence(PL)emission exhibits a superlinear dependence on the external conductance.Taking advantage of these unique mechanisms,instantaneous biophysical signals including galvanic skin response,pressure and temperature,and biochemical signals like ascorbic acid concentration,can be optically monitored,and it demonstrates that such an optoelectronic sensing technique outperforms a traditional tethered,electrically based sensing circuit,in terms of its footprint,accuracy and sensitivity.This presented optoelectronic sensing approach could establish promising routes to advanced biological sensors.He Ding Guoqing Lv Zhao Shi Dali Cheng Yang Xie Yunxiang Huang Lan Yin Jian Yang Yongtian Wang Xing Sheng 2021Nano Research2021,14,9:2

18Chiral phonon activated spin Seebeck effect in chiral materials显示文摘Efficient generation of spin polarization is very important for spintronics and quantum computation. In chiral materials without magnetic order nor spin-orbit coupling, we find a new spin selectivity effect—chiral phonon activated spin Seebeck(CPASS)effect. Starting with the nonequilibrium distribution of chiral phonons under a temperature gradient, the CPASS coefficients are computed based on the Boltzmann transport theory. With both the phonon-drag and band transport contributions, the spin accumulations generated by the CPASS effect exhibit quadratic dependence on the temperature gradient. The strength of the CPASS effect and the relative magnitude of both contributions are tunable by the chemical potential modulation. 19Sustainable development index of shale gas exploitation in China, the UK, and the US显示文摘While shale gas could complement the world's natural gas supply,its environmental tradeoffs and sustainability potential should be cautiously assessed before using it to satisfy future energy needs.Shale gas development in China is still in its infancy but has been progressing by the Central Government at a fast pace nowadays.Advanced experience from North America would greatly benefit sustainable design and decision-making for energy development in China.However,the lack of consistency concerning internal and external parameters among previous investigations does not allow an integrated impact comparison among shale gas-rich countries.Herein,we applied a meta-analysis to harmonize environmental tradeoff data through a comprehensive literature review.Greenhouse gas emission,water consumption,and energy demand were selected as environmental tradeoff indicators during shale gas production.Data harmonization suggested that environmental tradeoffs ranged from 5.6 to 37.4 g CO_(2)-eq,11.0-119.7 mL water,and 0.027-0.127 MJ energy to produce 1 MJ shale gas worldwide.Furthermore,sustainable development indexes(SDIs)for shale gas exploitation in China were analyzed and compared to the United States and the United Kingdom by considering environment,economy,and social demand through an analytic hierarchy process.The United States and China elicit higher SDIs than the United Kingdom,indicating higher feasibility for shale gas exploitation.Although China has relatively low scores in the environmental aspect,large reservoirs and high future market demand make Chinese shale gas favorable in the social demand aspect.Region-specific SDI characteristics identified among representative countries could improve the sustainability potential of regional development and global energy supply.Liang Li Fan Wu Yuanyu Cao Fei Cheng Dali Wang Huizhen Li Zhiqiang Yu Jing You 2022Environmental Science and Ecotechnology2022,,4:0
20Ultrafast and low-power optoelectronic infrared-to-visible upconversion devices显示文摘Photon upconversion with transformation of low-energy photons to high-energy photons has been widely studied and especially applied in biomedicine for sensing, stimulation, and imaging. Conventional upconversion materials rely on nonlinear luminescence processes, suffering from long decay lifetime or high excitation power. Here,we present a microscale, optoelectronic infrared-to-visible upconversion device design that can be excited at low power(1–100 mW∕cm^2). By manipulating device geometry, illumination position, and temperature, the device luminescence decay lifetime can be tuned from tens to hundreds of nanoseconds. Based on carrier transportation and circuit dynamics, theoretical models are established to understand the transient behaviors. Compared with other mechanisms, the optoelectronic upconversion approach demonstrates the shortest luminescence lifetime with the lowest required excitation power, owing to its unique photon–electron conversion process.
