A basis of this high-level chronostratigraphic system provides the foundation for a global Precambrian study and stratigraphic correlation and so recent geological studies have focused attention on systemic SHRIMP zircon dating. A chronology of Meso- and Neoproterozoic strata and the time of origin of the overlying Changcheng System is given on the basis of new SHRIMP zircon dating from the Qianxi Complex and diabase of the Chuanlinggou Formation. | 4 | Activation of gibberellin 2-oxidase 6 decreases active gibberellin levels and creates a dominant semi-dwarf phenotype in rice (Oryza sativa L.)显示文摘Gibberellin (GA) 2-oxidase plays a key role in the GA catabolic pathway through 2β-hydroxylation.In the present study,we isolated a CaMV 35S-enhancer activation tagged mutant,H032.This mutant exhibited a dominant dwarf and GA-deficient phenotype,with a final stature that was less than half of its wild-type counterpart.The endogenous bioactive GAs are markedly decreased in the H032 mutant,and application of bioactive GAs (GA3 or GA4) can reverse the dwarf phenotype.The integrated T-DNA was detected 12.8 kb upstream of the OsGA2ox6 in the H032 genome by TAIL-PCR.An increased level of OsGA2ox6 mRNA was detected at a high level in the H032 mutant,which might be due to the enhancer role of the CaMV 35S promoter.RNAi and ectopic expression analysis of OsGA2ox6 indicated that the dwarf trait and the decreased levels of bioactive GAs in the H032 mutant were a result of the up-regulation of the OsGA2ox6 gene.BLASTP analysis revealed that OsGA2ox6 belongs to the class III of GA 2-oxidases,which is a novel type of GA2ox that uses C20-GAs (GA12 and/or GA53) as the substrates.Interestingly,we found that a GA biosynthesis inhibitor,paclobutrazol,positively regulated the OsGA2ox6 gene.Unlike the over-expression of OsGA2ox1,which led to a high rate of seed abortion,the H032 mutant retained normal flowering and seed production.These results indicate that OsGA2ox6 mainly affects plant stature,and the dominant dwarf trait of the H032 mutant can be used as an efficient dwarf resource in rice breeding. | Jian Huang Ding Tang Yi Shen Baoxiang Qin Lilan Hong Aiqing You Ming Li Xin Wang Hengxiu Yu Minghong Gu Zhukuan Cheng | 2010 | Journal of Genetics and Genomics2010,37,1: | 36 |
| 5 | Transplantation of collagen scaffold with autologous bone marrow mononuclear cells promotes functional endometrium reconstruction via downregulating ΔNp63 expression in Asherman's syndrome显示文摘Asherman's syndrome(AS) is a common disease that presents endometrial regeneration disorder. However, little is known about its molecular features of this aregenerative endometrium in AS and how to reconstruct the functioning endometrium for the patients with AS. Here, we report that ΔNp63 is significantly upregulated in residual epithelial cells of the impaired endometrium in AS; the upregulated-ΔNp63 induces endometrial quiescence and alteration of stemness. Importantly, we demonstrate that engrafting high density of autologous bone marrow mononuclear cells(BMNCs) loaded in collagen scaffold onto the uterine lining of patients with AS downregulates ΔNp63 expression, reverses ΔNp63-induced pathological changes, normalizes the stemness alterations and restores endometrial regeneration. Finally, five patients achieved successful pregnancies and live births. Therefore, we conclude that ΔNp63 is a crucial therapeutic target for AS. | 7 | Effects of Nitrogen Application Rate and Ratio on Lodging Resistance of Super Rice with Different Genotypes显示文摘The objective of this study was to determine the morphology mechanism of nitrogen(N) fertilizer rates and ratio on lodging resistance through analying its effects among lodging index(LI),lodging-related morphological traits and physical strength in basal internodes by comparing japonica and indica super rice cultivars.Field experiments,with three nitrogen levels(0,150 and 300 kg ha-1) and two ratios of basal to topdressing(8:2 and 5:5) with two super rice cultivars(Yliangyou 2 and Wuyunjing 23),were conducted in the Baolin Farm,Danyang Country,Jiangsu Province,China,in 2011 and 2012.Effects of N fertilizer rates and ratios on morphology of whole plant,morphology traits in basal internodes and culm's physical strength parameters were investigated at 20 d after full heading stage.LI of Yliangyou 2 was significant greater than that of Wuyunjing 23 due to larger bending moment by whole plant(WP) with higher plant height and gravity center height.With higher volume of N fertilizer,LI of two super rice cultivars was increased conspicuously.However,no significant effect was detected with increase of panicle fertilizer ratio.The size of breaking strength(M) in basal internodes was the key factor determining LI among N fertilizer treatments.Correlation analysis revealed that M value was positively related bending stress(BS) of Wuyunjing 23 and section modulus(Z) of Yliangyou 2,respectively.The higher N fertilizer levels induced reduction of BS of Wuyunjing 23 due to weak culm and leaf sheath plumpness status and reduced Z of Yliangyou 2 owning to small diameter and culm wall thickness,consequently,influencing their M indirectly.These results suggested that breaking strength was the key factor influencing LI with increase of N fertilizer levels.However,the lodging-related morphology mechanism was different with genotypes.Culm wall thickness and diameter in basal internodes of indica super rice and culm and leaf sheath plumpness status of japonica super rice influenced breaking strength,as well as lodging index,respectively. | ZHANG Wu-jun LI Gang-hua YANG Yi-ming LI Quan ZHANG Jun LIU Jin-you WANG Shao-hua TANG She DING Yan-feng | 2014 | Journal of Integrative Agriculture2014,13,1: | 32 |
| 8 | Atorvastatin protects against cerebral ischemia/ reperfusion injury through anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects显示文摘In addition to its lipid-lowering effect, atorvastatin exerts anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects as well. In this study, we hypothesized that atorvastatin could protect against cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury. The middle cerebral artery ischemia/reperfusion model was established, and atorvastatin, 6.5 mg/kg, was administered by gavage. We found that, after cerebral ischemia/ reperfusion injury, levels of the inflammation-related factors E-selectin and myeloperoxidase were upregulated, the oxidative stress-related marker malondialdehyde was increased, and superoxide dismutase activity was decreased in the ischemic cerebral cortex. Atorvastatin pretreatment significantly inhibited these changes. | 9 | Radiofrequency ablation or microwave ablation combined with transcatheter arterial chemoembolization in treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma by comparing with radiofrequency ablation alone显示文摘Objective:To compare radiofrequency ablation(RFA) or microwave ablation(MWA) and transcatheter arterial chemoembolization(TACE) with RFA or MWA monotherapy in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).Methods:A prospective,randomized,controlled trial was conducted on 94 patients with HCC ≤7 cm at a single tertiary referral center from June 2008 to June 2010 at the Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery,the Second Affiliated Hospital of Southeast University.The patients were randomly assigned into the TACERFA or TACE-MWA(combined treatment group) and the RFA-alone or MWA-alone groups(control group).The primary end point was overall survival.The secondary end point was recurrence-free survival,and the tertiary end point was adverse effects.Results:Until the time of censor,17 patients in the TACE-RFA or TACE-MWA group had died.The median follow-up time of the patients who were still alive for the TACE-RFA or TACE-MWA group was 47.5±11.3 months(range,29 to 62 months).The 1-,3- and 5-year overall survival for the TACE-RFA or TACE-MWA group was 93.6%,68.1% and 61.7%,respectively.Twenty-five patients in the RFA or MWA group had died.The median follow-up time of the patients who were still alive for the RFA or MWA group was 47.0±12.9 months(range,28 to 62 months).The 1-,3- and 5-year overall survival for the RFA or MWA group was 85.1%,59.6% and 44.7%,respectively.The patients in the TACE-RFA or TACE-MWA group had better overall survival than the RFA or MWA group [hazard ratio(HR),0.526;95% confidence interval(95% CI),0.334-0.823;P=0.002],and showed better recurrence-free survival than the RFA or MWA group(HR,0.582;95% CI,0.368-0.895;P=0.008).Conclusions:RFA or MWA combined with TACE in the treatment of HCC ≤7 cm was superior to RFA or MWA alone in improving survival by reducing arterial and portal blood flow due to TACE with iodized oil before RFA. | Yongxiang Yi Yufeng Zhang Qiang Wei Liang Zhao Jianbo Han Yan Song Ying Ding Guilan Lu Junmao Liu Huaiying Ding Feng Dai Xiaojun Tang | 2014 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2014,26,1: | 29 |

| 12 | Effect of maternal age on the outcomes of in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer(IVF-ET)显示文摘This is a retrospective,observational study to evaluate the effect of maternal age on the outcomes of in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer(IVF-ET).11830 IVF-ET cycles from 10268 women were included.Four groups of different maternal age periods were compared.The groups were 21 30 years old group(4549 cycles),31-35 years old group(4424 cycles),36-40 years old group(2429 cycles),and over 40 years old group(428 cycles).The mean starting dose of Gn and mean total dose of Gn in each cycle were significantly higher(P<0.01),while the mean retrieved oocyte number was significantly lower(P<0.01) in groups of higher maternal age period than those in each of the lower groups.The biochemical pregnancy rate and the clinical pregnancy rate were significantly lower(P<0.01),while the miscarriage rate was significantly higher(P<0.01) in groups of higher maternal age period than those in the lower groups.No difference was found in two-pronuclear zygotes(2PN) rate and good quality embryo rate among different groups.Birth defect rate was also comparable in the born babies in different groups.In the group with patients' age over 40 years old,the pregnancy rate was 26.87%,the clinical pregnancy rate was 19.39%,while the miscarriage rate after clinical pregnancy was 36.14%.To draw the conclusion,patients with higher maternal age had worse IVF outcomes.In women of fertile age,patients between 20 and 30 years old have the best IVF outcomes.Patients over 40 years old have poor IVF outcome and high miscarriage rate,which suggested the necessity of preimplantation genetic screening(PGS). | YAN JunHao WU KeLiang TANG Rong DING LingLing CHEN Zi-Jiang | 2012 | Science China(Life Sciences)2012,55,8: | 23 |

Autophagy is involved in tumors as well as neurodegenerative, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. Recently, active compounds from traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) have been found to modulate the levels of autophagy in tumor cells, nerve cells, myocardial cells and endothelial cells. Ischemic stroke is a major cause of neurological disability and places a heavy burden on family and society. Regaining function can significantly reduce dependence and improve the quality of life of stroke survivors. In healthy cells, autophagy plays a key role in adapting to nutritional deprivation and eliminating aggregated proteins, however inappropriate activation of autophagy may lead to cell death in cerebral ischemia. | 14 | The poisoning and regeneration effect of alkali metals deposed over commercial V_2O_5-WO_3/TiO_2 catalysts on SCR of NO by NH_3显示文摘In this study,commercial V2O5-WO3/TiO2catalysts were deactivated by loading with alkali metals(K and Na).These catalysts were then regenerated by washing with either deionized water or 0.5 mol/L H2SO4(through the ultrasonic-assisted method).The samples used in this research were characterized by NH3-temperature programmed desorption(TPD),and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS).Results showed that Na2O and K2O doping can poison the V2O5-WO3/TiO2catalyst and that the poisoning effect of Na2O was stronger than that of K2O.However,the Na2O-loaded sample was easier to regenerate than the K2O-loaded sample.The surfaces of catalysts can be sulfated by washing with dilute sulfuric acid because strong acid sites adhere to the catalyst surface.SO42-could also promote catalyst activity.As indicated by the NH3-TPD findings,the deposition of Na2O and K2O could also reduce the amount of desorbed ammonia and destabilize the acid sites,especially strong chemisorption sites.XPS results revealed that catalysts were deactivated by the decrease in the concentration of chemisorbed oxygen[the Oa/(Oα+Oβ)ratio].In the Na2O-doped catalyst,much chemisorbed oxygen was lost(from 28.8%to10.6%).However,the decrease in the Oa/(Oα+Oβ)ratio was less significant in the K2O-doped catalyst(from28.8%to 23.5%).Nonetheless,the binding energies of O1s broadened with respect to both high and low energy.In particular,the binding energy of chemisorbed oxygen increased from 531.5 to 531.8 eV. | Fengyu Gao Xiaolong Tang Honghong Yi Shunzheng Zhao Tongtong Zhang Dong Li Ding Ma | 2014 | Chinese Science Bulletin2014,59,31: | 19 |

We and others have previously shown that mouse mature hepatocytes can be con verted to liver progenitor-like cells in vitro with defined chemical factors. Here we describe a protocol achieving efficient conversion of human primary hepatocytes into liver progenitor-like cells (HepLPCs) through delivery of developmentally relevant cues, including NAD +-dependent deacetylase SIRT1 signaling. These HepLPCs could be expanded sign ifica ntly duri ng in vitro passage. The expa nded cells can readily be con verted back into metabolically functional hepatocytes in vitro and upon tran splantati on in vivo. | 19 | Antipyretic and anti-inflammatory activities of Thais luteostoma extracts and underlying mechanisms显示文摘Thais luteostoma has been utilized as a crude drug whose shell and soft tissue have been widely used for the treatment of heat syndrome in China for thousands of years. The present study was designed to investigate the antipyretic and anti-inflammatory activities of T. luteostoma. T. luteostoma was divided into shell(TLSH) and soft tissue(TLST) samples in the present study. The rat model of yeast-induced fever was used to investigate their antipyretic effects; and the rat model of hind paw edema induced by carrageenan was utilized to study their anti-inflammatory activities, and at the same time, the concentration variations of the central neurotransmitter [prostaglandin E2(PGE2) and cyclic adenosine monophosphate(cA MP)], inflammatory mediators [tumor necrosis factor(TNFα), interleukin-1β(IL-1), interleukin-2(IL-2) and interleukin-6(IL-6)] and ion(Na+ and Ca2+) were also tested. The results showed that TLSH and TLST extracts significantly inhibited yeast-induced pyrexia in rats(P < 0.05), and exhibited more lasting effects as compared to aspirin, and TLSH had the better antipyretic activity than TLST, and that TLSH and TLST could significantly prevent against carrageenan induced paw edema in rats(P < 0.05); and markedly reduced levels of PGE2, cA MP, TNFα, IL-1β, IL-2, IL-6, and Na+/Ca2+. In fever model, TLST could significantly reduce the levels of PGE2(P < 0.01) in rats' homogenate and TNFα(P < 0.05), IL-1β(P < 0.01) in the plasma than TLSH, whereas TLSH could reduce the content of IL-2(P < 0.01) and IL-6(P < 0.01) in plasma and increase the content of Ca2+(P < 0.01) in plasma and homogenate more significantly than TLST. | 20 | Proximal gastrectomy with jejunal interposition and TGRY anastomosis for proximal gastric cancer显示文摘AIM: To compare the short-term outcomes of patients who underwent proximal gastrectomy with jejunal interposition(PGJI) with those undergoing total gastrectomy with Roux-en-Y anastomosis(TGRY).METHODS: From January 2009 to January 2011, thirty-five patients underwent PGJI, and forty-one patients underwent TGRY. The surgical efficacy and short-term follow-up outcomes were compared between the two groups.RESULTS: There were no differences in the demographic and clinicopathological characteristics. The mean operation duration and postoperative hospital stay in the PGJI group were statistically longer than those in the TGRY group(P = 0.00). No anastomosis leakage was observed in two groups. No statistically significant difference was found in endoscopic findings, Visick grade or serum albumin level. The single-meal food intake in the PGJI group was more than that in the TGRY group(P = 0.00). The PG group showed significantly better hemoglobin levels in the second year(P = 0.02).
