1The heterogeneity of islet autoantibodies and the progression of islet failure in type 1 diabetic patients显示文摘Type 1 diabetes mellitus is heterogeneous in many facets. The patients suffered from type 1 diabetes present several levels of islet function as well as variable number and type of islet-specific autoantibodies. This study was to investigate prevalence and heterogeneity of the islet autoantibodies and clinical phenotypes of type 1 diabetes mellitus; and also discussed the process of islet failure and its risk factors in Chinese type 1 diabetic patients. A total of 1,291 type 1 diabetic patients were enrolled in this study. Demographic information was collected. Laboratory tests including mixed-meal tolerance test, human leukocyte antigen alleles, hemoglobin A1 c, lipids, thyroid function and islet autoantibodies were conducted. The frequency of islet-specific autoantibody in newly diagnosed T1 DM patients(duration shorter than half year) was 73% in East China. According to binary logistic regressions, autoantibody positivity, longer duration and lower Body Mass Index were the risk factors of islet failure. As the disease developed, autoantibodies against glutamic acid decarboxylase declined as well as the other two autoantibodies against zinc transporter 8 and islet antigen 2. The decrease of autoantibodies was positively correlated with aggressive beta cell destruction. Autoantibodies can facilitate the identification of classic T1 DM from other subtypes and predict the progression of islet failure. 2Tagging single nucleotide polymorphisms in the PPAR-γ and RXR-α gene and type 2 diabetes risk:a case-control study of a Chinese Han population显示文摘Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR-γ),which is mainly involved in adipocyte differentiation, has been suggested to play an important role in the pathogenesis of insulin resistance and atherosclerosis. We investigated the frequencies of two common tagging polymorphisms of the PPAR-γ gene and two of PPAR-α with minor allele frequency (MAF)≥ 0.05 in the Chinese Han population and analyzed the correlation between the different genotypes and the risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). TaqMan assay was performed to test the genotypes in T2DM patients (n = 1,105) and normal controls (n = 1,107). Serum adiponectin concentration was measured by ELISA kit. The variant genotypes rs17817276GG, rs3856806CT and rs3856806CT/TT of PPAR-γ were associated with T2DM, P = 0.023,0.037 and 0.018, respectively. Furthermore, the prevalence of haplotype GT in PPAR-γ was less frequent in the case subjects (0.3%) than in the controls (1.9%) [P < 0.001,OR(95%CI)=0.13 (0.06-0.31)]. Patients with genotype TT of rs3856806 had a higher serum level of adiponectin than those with the genotype CC and CT (P = 0.031 and 0.038, respectively). There was no statistically significant difference between patients and controls in genotype distribution of rs6537944 and rs1045570 of the RXR-α gene. 3Application of the back-error propagation artificial neural network(BPANN) on genetic variants in the PPAR-γ and RXR-α gene and risk of metabolic syndrome in a Chinese Han population显示文摘This study was aimed to explore the associations between the combined effects of several polymorphisms in the PPAR-γ and RXR-α gene and environmental factors with the risk of metabolic syndrome by back-error propagation artificial neural network(BPANN).We established the model based on data gathered from metabolic syndrome patients(n = 1012) and normal controls(n = 1069) by BPANN.Mean impact value(MIV) for each input variable was calculated and the sequence of factors was sorted according to their absolute MIVs.Generalized multifactor dimensionality reduction(GMDR) confirmed a joint effect of PPAR-γ and RXR-α based on the results from BPANN.By BPANN analysis,the sequences according to the importance of metabolic syndrome risk factors were in the order of body mass index(BMI).serum adiponectin,rs4240711,gender,rs4842194,family history of type 2 diabetes,rs2920502,physical activity,alcohol drinking,rs3856806,family history of hypertension,rsl045570,rs6537944,age,rsl7817276,family history of hyperlipidemia,smoking,rs1801282 and rs3132291.However,no polymorphism was statistically significant in multiple logistic regression analysis.After controlling for environmental factors,A_1,A_2,B_1 and B_2(rs4240711,rs4842194,rs2920502 and rs3856806) models were the best models(cross-validation consistency 10/10,P = 0.0107) with the GMDR method.In conclusion,the interaction of the PPAR-γ and RXR-α gene could play a role in susceptibility to metabolic syndrome.A more realistic model is obtained by using BPANN to screen out determinants of diseases of multiple etiologies like metabolic syndrome.Xu Zhao Kang Xu Hui Shi Jinluo Cheng Jianhua Ma Yanqin Gao Qian Li Xinhua Ye Ying Lu Xiaofang Yu Juan Du Wencong Du Qing Ye Ling Zhou 2014The Journal of Biomedical Research2014,28,2:3
4Reconfigurable metasurface-based 1×2 waveguide switch显示文摘Reconfigurable nanophotonic components are essential elements in realizing complex and highly integrated photonic circuits.Here we report a novel concept for devices with functionality to dynamically control guided light in the near-visible spectral range,which is illustrated by a reconfigurable and non-volatile(1×2)switch using an ultracompact active metasurface.The switch is made of two sets of nanorod arrays of TiO_(2) and antimony trisulfide(Sb_(2)S_(3)),a low-loss phase-change material(PCM),patterned on a silicon nitride waveguide.The metasurface creates an effective multimode interferometer that forms an image of the input mode at the end of the stem waveguide and routes this image toward one of the output ports depending on the phase of PCM nanorods.Remarkably,our metasurface-based 1×2 switch enjoys an ultracompact coupling length of 5.5μm and a record high bandwidth(22.6 THz)compared to other PCM-based switches.Furthermore,our device exhibits low losses in the near-visible region(∼1 dB)and low cross talk(−11.24 dB)over a wide bandwidth(22.6 THz).Our pro-posed device paves the way toward realizing compact and efficient waveguide routers and switches for applications in quantum computing,neuromorphic photonic networking,and biomedical sensing and optogenetics.AMGED ALQULIAH MOHAMED ELKABBASH JINLUO CHENG GOPAL VERMA CHAUDRY SAJED SARAJ WEI LI CHUNLEI GUO 2021Photonics Research2021,9,10:1
5Chiral phonon activated spin Seebeck effect in chiral materials显示文摘Efficient generation of spin polarization is very important for spintronics and quantum computation. In chiral materials without magnetic order nor spin-orbit coupling, we find a new spin selectivity effect—chiral phonon activated spin Seebeck(CPASS)effect. Starting with the nonequilibrium distribution of chiral phonons under a temperature gradient, the CPASS coefficients are computed based on the Boltzmann transport theory. With both the phonon-drag and band transport contributions, the spin accumulations generated by the CPASS effect exhibit quadratic dependence on the temperature gradient. The strength of the CPASS effect and the relative magnitude of both contributions are tunable by the chemical potential modulation. 6Characteristics of deep water depositional system in Campos basin, Brazil显示文摘To make clear about the sedimentary facies types and distribution of deep water sandstone reservoirs in Campos basin of Brazil,this paper researches the characteristics of deep-water sedimentary system in Campos basin through the comprehensive analysis of drilling,logging and seismic data.There are 3 subfacies and 7 microfacies in the study area.There are 3 channels from south to north in Upper Cretaceous Maastrichtian,and the sedimentary incised valley and compound channels developed in micro-salt basin are the main deep water depositional types.The Paleocene to Eocene dominated by sedimentary incised valley and eroded compound channel deposits,also include 3 channel systems.From Oligocene to Miocene,the main deposition type is lobe,which is mainly distributed in central-north of the basin.Corresponding to deep water depositional stages,3 kinds of depositional models are found.From Turonian to Maastrichtian of Upper Cretaceous,with tectonic uplift,strong source material supply,and the negative topography produced by salt rock movement providing favorable accommodation for sand deposition,the depositional model was terrigenous direct feed mechanism with sedimentary incised valley and compound channels in micro salt basin.From Paleocene to Eocene,as the amplitude of tectonic uplift reached the maximum and the accompanied erosion peaked,accommodation space offered by micro salt basin was leveled up;the depositional model was terrigenous direct feed mechanism with sedimentary valley and incised compound channels.From Oligocene to Miocene,because of sable tectonics,sea level fluctuation is the main controlling factor for deep water deposition,so the depositional model was wide shelf indirect feed mechanism with bypass incised valley and lobe.The analysis of the characteristics and controlling factors of the 3 types deep-water sedimentary systems during 3 different stages in Campos Basin can provide valuable reference for the oil exploration in deep-water deposits in the Campos Basin and across the world.KANG Hongquan MENG Jinluo CHENG Tao JIA Huaicun BAI Bo LI Minggang 2018Petroleum Exploration and Development2018,45,1:0
